402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: October 27, 2023, 09:53:12 PM
Better to do something that will keep yourself busy, I agree with physical activities since not just your body but also your brain will be used and with that, thinking back again in things that related to gambling may not be present as like what you say, possible that since the body is tired what the brain wants is to let that body to rest..

Giving that time to not to think of anything but to rest completely and just do the same thing the following day to stay clear and away from any form of gambling.
The best way to quit gambling is not to spend the day thinking about quitting gambling or avoiding gambling thoughts. Intentionally distract yourself. And the best way is to find a course and following it genuinely. It could be to teach school kids in inner cities or impoverish environments this is a good course to follow. To keep your mind busy and redirect your purpose and aspiration.

If this doesn't work then try learning a hard skill. It would definitely do it.
403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: October 27, 2023, 09:38:20 PM
Your message fits the old saying, "Gotta know when to clutch 'em, when to ditch 'em, when to make tracks, and when to bolt!" Gambling is fun if you know when to stop.

If you are twitching, squeezing, shaking, sweating and palpitating then you are not having fun gambling. I just added mine and it makes perfect sense. Gambling should be fun not feel like a job.

Gambling excessively leads to stress town, anxiety oblivion, depression capital, and debt gulch. It's fine. Gamble without jeopardizing everything. Only gamble with money you can afford to lose.
If you overdo it you will regret it. You will pay for it both with your mental wellbeing and with your health.

Take breaks when needed! Gambling might be tempting, so it's crucial to keep busy. After your break, the game will be more interesting than ever!
Taking breaks is like have a nap after a long day. You wake you revitalize and with more clarity. Gamble responsibly and intentionally as a user on this forum has already said.
404  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware of this new scamming methods on: October 27, 2023, 08:59:18 PM
This is an eye-opener. Now your unique position made you aware of phishing links. I can only think of the regular bitcoin holder without knowledge Javascripts links that contains code to steal a persons log information if the person clicks on it. Once a very important reminder that every bitcoin holder should have the basic knowledge about cybersecurity. There is no regret in this at all.
405  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The fear of investment on: October 27, 2023, 08:32:38 PM
Hello friends

In our modern society, the fear of being scammed by king pins and other fake platforms has made many people to loose interest in investing bitcoin.
I strongly disagree with this statement.

Lack of knowledge is the reason why we fear and have phobia for many things. Just as the darkness gives way to light, so fear gives way to knowledge. I argument here is that people who are afraid of being scammed and therefore loose interest in investing in bitcoin is because they have not acquired the necessary knowledge that dissipates fear.

This knowledge comes from reading books, asking the right question, associating with the right community of people who tell you the truth. Do you know that the single reason why people get scammed is because the see bitcoin as get rich quick scheme and these scammers can easily spot people like this and feed on their desperation. With the right knowledge the scammer has no hold on them.
406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Instagram Banned Bitcoin on: October 27, 2023, 07:57:15 PM
This is shocking news for the Bitcoin banned by Instagram. From its platform, the conversation about Bitcoin and Bitcoin was hidden by Instagram. Until now, Instagram has not given an official statement about this, but there are several users who have started to be affected. Why do you think it is? Is it because Libra and Diem that the project failed or was it ordered by SC or the revenge of the Winklevos brothers who are rich from Bitcoin. Instagram is clearly a platform that does not support freedom of speech and only displays content according to the algorithm they want. What do you think guys ?
This isn't any deal here. Instagram is one of the many social media platforms out there. Why do we care if they ban bitcoin. Bitcoin is like water, it will always find its way. So if you block it here, there is another opening for it to go through.
Mark Zuckerberg is pained that his own crypto project just like his thread app did get the traction he thought it would and so he ban bitcoin and all things related to bitcoin on his Meta platform. Does this stop bitcoin awareness from growing? I don't think so. How about its adoption? No. What of its price. Still now. What Instagram has done is as insignificant as pouring water in a basket and expecting it to hold.
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a “safe haven asset” on: October 27, 2023, 07:33:33 PM
For me, this is the first time I've seen a traditional company admit and call bitcoin a safe haven and consider it superior to gold. What do you think about this and should we stop calling bitcoin a risky investment?
I find this quite amusing. Imagine we had waited for traditional companies like you call it to admit and call bitcoin a safe heaven. We wouldn't be were we are find now. The thing I like about the set of strong believers in bitcoin is that we take the bull by the horn. We need no bullshit validation for any asset manager, broker, government official or whoever. All I see them coming out right now to say nice stuff about bitcoin because they want to ride on it success. Its years of resilience and grit against the forces that wished to see it die. They should all keep their lofty opinions about bitcoin to themselves.
408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK passes bill to enable authorities to seize Bitcoin used for crime on: October 26, 2023, 11:53:45 PM

You should have read the article you shared pass the title (which was imho misleadingly written ) as its mention later in the text that goal of this new bill is to make it even easier and faster for government agencies to seize cryptocurrencies that they belive were used in illegal activities.
As Bitcoin becomes more global thieves and bad state actors would increase in their use of it for nefarious activities. For example in terrorism finanncing. I do not support bitcoin being used for any illegal activity. It taints the image of Bitcoin and gives it a bad rep. Therefore on this note, I stand with the government as along as they go after the real bad guys and not witch-hunt some honest Bitcoin trader or holder.

409  Economy / Economics / Re: Cracking the Code of Saving Money... on: October 26, 2023, 11:44:30 PM
It is not easy to save money in a very harsh economic situation. However it is very possible that you can still save some money no matter how little which is. I tell people who care to listen that if they take stock of their expenses their things that they can cut down on and save money from them. Home made food my be cheaper than eating out. Therefore you can cut down on it and save money from eating out. At least when you cook your own food, you do not tip anyone. You can also brew your own coffee as opposed to buying from Starbucks. You could do a garage sale and sell off some old items that you no longer need that occupies space in your apartment. You could also try flipping stuff too. These are some ways get money to save that I have tried and they worked for me.
410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Mattress Mack" loses nearly 10 million dollars on Astros Loss on: October 26, 2023, 11:18:07 PM
Most of you probably aren't familiar with this man, but he's pretty popular here in the United States, known for making monster bets on his favorite baseball team, the Houston Astros ( also the most hated team in America being that they were caught cheating  during their World Series win a few years back).
I don't know him .This person sounds like Drake. Almost same gambling habits. I understand their passion and must say that it is commendable but for me when a notable person starts showing of their bet on social media it becomes deeply concerning to me because it passes the wrong message to kids and

I saw a video of someone giving him shit and him stacking "fuck you, fuck you" left and right back at the man.  This guy seems to lose his cool quite a bit.  He seems like an old fart but if you look up his history, he's bet millions upon millions of dollars, both winning and losing TONS of money.

Here's the recent bet/story ( could you ever bet millions if you had it? )

411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why gambling beginners must not joke with casino announcement on: October 26, 2023, 10:00:50 PM
If you stay close to a casino to understand what is happening. It is good thing that beginning us should get accustomed to reading casino announcements however this does not make them a meal true losses on the same casino. The outcomes are totally random.

The one advantage of reading casino announcement is that you get to know what they casino is doing like are they bringing new games , payment methods etc. all these are vitally important.
412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Used Our Wedding Savings to Play Bet on: October 26, 2023, 09:00:31 PM
How does a person convinces themselves to do something so stupid as this that hearing it or reading it alone makes you sick to your stomach. How does somebody decides to throw away dear future 4 this. You don't need an elaborate wedding. You do not need to impress people. Your wedding doesn't need to be the talk of the town. See the extent to which he has made his addiction to drive him to do. His marriage is called off and relationships destroyed. Seek help.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Live Sports Betting vs virtual Games Betting on: October 26, 2023, 08:47:22 PM
In-play bet is what does it for me. With in play bets you get to learn about the team and players well. Which helps to build some skills and analytical abilities that is transferrable to other in-play games. It even makes you to be current with the football. Virtual games is total a waste of a money and time of course. There is real still being built here. This is what most of those gambling addicts struggle to quit.
414  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Security Should Be Your First Target as a Newbie on: October 25, 2023, 11:55:33 PM
Newbies should the develop proper security consciousness habits right from the time they have even as little as 100 satoshis. It will help them in the future as they accumulate more and more bitcoins at that time being security-conscious would be a second nature to them I need the would not fall victims easily when there is a security breach.

Here is a good place to start by looking at the Security and Privacy encyclopedia by OcTradism
415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a Top-down or Bottom-up bettor? on: October 25, 2023, 11:37:44 PM
Sometimes I am a bottom- up bettor.
When I am like 80% confident in the outcome of the game then I am the bottom up at approach method. Mostly relying on my deep knowledge of the teams, player, historical records and what have you.
The top-down approach is also used too. I feel like this is a lazy method for people who don't want too much stress. This method my lead the bettor eventually to the bottom up method if he encounters any frustrations.
416  Economy / Economics / Re: What does being rich mean in your perspective? on: October 25, 2023, 08:52:27 PM
Rich is where you feel enough with your daily needs e.g. foods, place to live, afford to buy clothes, have a party etc. Having a party and afford to buy something like clothes are daily needs because you need a self reward and entertainment to enjoy the life.

It's not necessary you must have a big desire e.g. buy super car, have a big house etc because that's really hard to achieve and not everyone can have that.
This is why I am of the opinion that richness is subjective. An individual who comes from a close-knit family where there is no sickness, where they have a farm land that sustains them they may consider themselves to be rich. For these folks, richness is about family, health, and sustenance. However, for someone who lives in the Western world richness maybe the supercars, having multiple citizenship, a house in Hollywood and so on. My perspective on being rich is family, health, and career. Once these are achieved to about 60% I can say that I am rich.
417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you keep a record of winnings and losses in gambling? on: October 25, 2023, 08:23:52 PM
Do you keep a record of winnings and losses in gambling? Many here will feel that this is waste of time and will also not let them enjoy the game peacefully. Do you also have same mentality?
I have tried to do this several times but it have been unsuccessful because I end up missing some records out. I just forget to write them down.

Is there a reason to write down your wins and losses if the reason you are  gambling is just to have fun?One of the threads today adviceed gamblers to treat the casino like the cinema. You go there to have fun. If I have this mentality, keeping record will.be useless.
418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dangerous chasing losses on: October 25, 2023, 07:27:35 PM

Conclusion: I will never gamble again when I’m bored or chase loss small amount. With this exhilarating experience. I think I will stop gambling for a long time and reflect on what dumb thing I do today.

I like your introspection and honest self reflection. It shows that you are a responsible gambler. You should take it easy on yourself. We tend to get carried away and the result is what you have just told us. You think you need a break from gambling? Then take it. You think you need a gambling partner to put you in check , keep tabs on you with regards to your gambling activity? Get one. Please do whatever is necessary to make sure that there is no repeat.
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you leave the country or will you stay, stand up and fight for your right? on: October 25, 2023, 07:06:42 PM
I know Americans as one of the most brave and resilient people on the planet earth. They are not weaklings. I know that they will stay and fight. They will do it for their kids and kids kids. In the end, bitcoin is going to prevail. We know that this is a strategy of the government to be in control. I am not surprised. Some one said this already that BlockRock is the government. I still believe their aim is to control the a large portion of the world's bitcoin. We will see some versions of the PATRIOT Act coming up in other countries. But American bitcoiners must fight. It is the only country you have and can call your own.
420  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 31 days later.. Testing own strategy on: October 24, 2023, 11:54:18 PM
It's been 31 days since I started testing a strategy I designed in TradingView, applying my knowledge in trading and investments. This is a continuation of my previous post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5468812.0 in which I asked whether achieving an average annual return of 20% was considered good. There were several interesting comments, with some people saying it's a good return for spot trading, while others felt it's a very low return due to the high risk and volatility in the cryptocurrency market. Some mentioned that for a small capital, it might not be worth the effort for such a small gain. I'd like to address some of the points that came up in the post.

Edit
I've created a Telegram group where I'll be sharing my daily trades. It's free, so feel free to join if you'd like. https://t.me/CryptoBeeStrategy
Thanks for sharing, updating, and taking us on your trading journey using your own trading strategies. I am an occasional trader even though I have the theoretical knowledge of trading so I am happy to see someone actually put in practice trading.

I was wondering, how how have you been trading for and what has been the most valuable lessons from trading that you have learned?

I'll definitely check your telegram channel.
