Just an update on my situation: I did get a couple emails from Ronny Boesing, CEO of CCEDK. He said that he will work on trouble shooting the issue with Fimk transactions on Monday. I'm guessing based on what's said here that it's a matter of updating the CCEDK wallets, and that once that happens all deposits made to CCEDK wallets should show up. I'm not sure about withdrawals, though, if they were done on a fork, what happens to those. Hopefully by Tuesday everything there will be running smoothly.
If withdrawals were sent on a fork, then the person waiting for them, never got them, or were also on the fork. Once they are on the correct chain they will have the coins back and can re-send them correctly. |

Is the coin still alive, the deposits I have made are still missing ( a week now) and no blockchain to check status...
Having problems too. Sent some XCH in clearwallet and still dont see the funds a day later. Can't track either, account History page gives you errors "failoverAPI: Call failed (failed over across all servers). Method: get_raw_transactions; Last error: Request Time out." Is this the appropriate place to raise support?? I've had better luck tweeting @btcdrak. |

And a wallet.dat file doesn't need to be updated if there are corresponding protocol changes (that influence the handling of it)?
Nxt does not have a wallet.dat , ergo the centralization of the brain wallet with a passphrase.  Fine, we will just agree to disagree. And let Time sort out who was right. Later,  Can you explain how storing your private key in your brain vs in a file equates to whether the network is distributed or centralized? |

I won't comment on the web wallet because it's plain speculation and could also be said about bitcoin (e.g. blockchain.info) (Personally I really doubt it for both cases) Not in my opinion, but fact: - yes, if you run your own client, you alone decide whether you want to update or not - yes, why not, it's open sourced code ( https://bitbucket.org/JeanLucPicard/nxt/src, also delivered/packaged with every release btw.) As for the brainwallet approach, why would your passphrase not work should a fork arise? The Brain wallets will have to update, with the network since the user only controls access to it not the actual data itself. That is why Nxt users can't just block the update like a normal decentralized coin, and what keeps it from being truly decentralized. I mean think about it , the wallet data is centralized across the network , not stored locally. Sorry, Nxt is not decentralized. Either I have no idea what you are talking about, or you have no idea. I run a node and the blockchain is stored locally on my PC. The NXT network is distributed among thousands of nodes, each node forging (sort of like mining). There is no centralized server. Yes, all the coins are on the blockchain just like bitcoin. |

No you dumb ass, What i am saying is if you are willing to give nxt supports a say in the system by giving them fnxt, then why are you ignoring the other supporters, the ones who have their nxt tied up in assets. This isnt socialism asshole but me and others wanting to find a way to not dump the value of the nxt ae system during the reboot. Im not out there with my begging cup trying to get free money, im trying to provide a fair solution for everyone. And notice i never said all nxt assets need be compensated. GetGems advertising channel up to 1032 members, just saw a bitcoin faucet being advretised. I can see more cryptos using the platform to advertise since 95% of members never heard of crypto. In the near feature it will be a valuable platform to get the average person into cryptocurrenciy.

I considered this already because I owned a casino site with flash slots some years ago. I still have the rights on the script and some slots, I even could buy more coz I know the programmer.
The thing is, my former casino site was based on a centralized virtual currency what was completely controlled by an owner. It was not considered to be a currency at all. Bitcoin or Nxt however, are considered as real currencies in the meanwhile, and running a casino site based on those currencies could bring me into trouble. This is the reason why i have not started such a site yet.
Maybe there are some ways to get it done without legal problems. But i need consultancy on this.

No, that was not the point. My point was that the ETH and Monero shills have an attitude atleast to promote their agenda. Yes their tools are: trolling, shilling and FUD-ing, so they are wrong. But nontheless they have a goal. NXT seems like a bunch of devs creating things, that nobody knows about, because there is nobody promoting it.NXT needs an organized advertisement campaign fast. There is nothing stopping the completed, open source NxtAT project being implemented in Nxt in the future once the turing complete concept has been proven safe in the wild.

Is there a reason I need to re-set up my wallet after an update. It asked for my phone number and I had to re-put in my BTC wallet seed.

Paykey will work anywhere you use your keyboard, so to my previous list i can add tons of others. Not even comparable to changetip regarding where you can spend money.
You said it "couldn't be done" now, and it can. Not that paykey might be easier and less friction, but it's still currently possible. |
