401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 14, 2023, 08:42:26 PM

If Inoue couldn't hurt Tapales early in the fight then that slim possibility to KO Inoue might come to fruition when the Monster is already tired in the championship rounds hehe.

Unfortunately, all the fighters Inoue fought were hurt by his power punches I have not seen a fighter whom he did not hurt that is why he has the title the Monster because he can hurt anyone, the closest fight he had gone was the first match against Donaire, but every fighter has their weakness and its on Tapales team to see Inoue's weakness and try to exploit it.

Correct, the Donaire vs Inoue I was the last time we have seen the Monster in a not so good position. Nonito even broke Naoya's orbital bone that time and he was close to beating him. However, Donaire lost because he has no stamina to finished the fight and Inoue's youth takes over. And what's scary is that after this fight, Inoue improved by leaps and bounds and then started to just breaking down every fighter he fought, including Nonito in their rematch.

I will be happy if Tapales can survive the whole fight and even if he loses by decision he has something to be proud of because Inoue always comes to knock out his opponents and he always goes all out just to achieve that.
But I will be very excited and happy if he wins although it's a tall task there is such a thing as a lucky punch, the one that brought down Tyson in his fight against Douglas.

To some extend, surviving against Inoue would be consider as a win for Tapales and be proud that he is not one of those victims of Inoue again. But we will see if Tapales is really motivated not just ot survived but also win also the chance is very slim.

The good thing about Mark Magsayo is that he is under MP Promotions which takes good care of his career. Though not yet on the top 5 of each sanctioning bodies but somehow he will be there in a few fights due to the connections of Sean Gibbons. I do agree that he still needs a tune-up fight before fighting for a belt even though he was amazing in his last fight.

He won unforgettably and he finished his opponent with a deadly move that ended the fight. Looks like he is ready for another high-level opponent that could test his pro boxing skills or maybe a chance for a championship bout. Nevertheless, his next opponent is surely not gonna rush to fight him without any proper training. That knockout is a message for his next opponent that they are in need of new skills to counter that technique in order to win against Magsayo.

That was definitely a huge knockout. His opponent absolutely went night night. And you are absolutely right about it being a very deadly move.

Yes, it was really night night for Avelar, it's even worthy for a ko of the year. But it's bad to see a boxer going out in the ring in a stretcher.

Anyway, if we talk about his next fight, I think it is definitely going to be someone who is of the top level. And it is also true that he is not going to be fighting Mark on short notice or something like that. I think it is at least going to be one year after the fight gets announced. Or the contract is signed or whatever they do it is.

One year is too long  to look for a potential opponent. Maybe right now they are already looking at the list as to who is the best opponent for him. There are some good names in this division and then perhaps some that he can fight as a stepping stone. It's up to MP on how they are going to guide Mark career in this division, as for sure they want him to be a champion, but it could take careful matchmaking.
403  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whats your thought on: December 13, 2023, 11:59:31 PM
To sum it up, we have a positive sentiment regarding Bitcoin now and this will linger for only God knows when. According to my experience with the asset in particular, there are times it falls and there are times it rises, and in practice, it always locks a very good and sizable amount of the price below it every 4 years during its major bullish season. This is what is causing most of the excitement we see now because if you limit it to the news and big companies buying Bitcoin alone, are they not buying it before?
That is also quite true in what you said based on existing experience, because I also quite believe in the main bullish season after every four years and this is also very visible from the reality in the market. Now there are indeed many people who are happy with the improving conditions which can be considered bullish at this time because I personally am also quite happy to see this happen at the end of the year so the hope of seeing more recovery in the market will soon become a reality.

But if you look at it right now? It's very bullish as we might say that we enter the bullish state very early because of a lot of good news that is coming in the crypto space. But it's the halving that will really change he air around us as it will be the catalyst for the next bull run.

And we've bounce back already, 3%++ in the next 24 hours. It's just a minor dip and it is to be expected. But then again, investors are very quick to scoop some bitcoins when it dip to $40k'ish and now we are at almost $43k again. So I guess the target of around $45k at the end of the year is still on the dot.

405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 13, 2023, 09:21:36 PM

Do you agree or disagree? Drop your reason why.

I am not supporting that spending less time gambling is a better because long time spending in gambling can also be a good depending on the person's reason for gambling. The important thing in gambling isn’t to stop gambling in a very short time but to gamble with a purpose.

If a person wants to gamble for fun, he/she can choose the minimum bet amount (which varies between $0.05 and $0.10 in many games) and continue gambling for a long time, enjoying the entire process of gambling. However, if the aim is to earn money by gambling, that person can choose to gamble for as long as he/she wants with a tactic he/she determines. In either scenario, keeping the gambling process as short as possible would not be better for that person.

I guess the point is that the longer you play, the bigger money you could be losing in the long run. That's why it is not advisable to be playing that long. Even if you go on a minimum bet and play and you are not that lucky, it's like for example you play on slot machines, your money will be just eaten in a snap. That's why most of the games are based on pure luck, because you just don't know what will be the outcome and if he keep on chasing for big bonus, then you end up losing in the long run.

So we should gamble responsible and then just take control of ourselves, don't be greedy or at least learn to stop when everything is not going your way. Maybe you quit and then play the next day, perhaps your luck will be different.
406  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcointalk as a means of Job & Wealth Creation for Youths in Nigeria on: December 13, 2023, 09:10:20 PM
This post looks childish to me somehow, but nevertheless coming from a newbie what more should I expect.
Yep, kind of.  It's probably more of a merit-grab attempt than anything else.

I've got no problem with people who earn money here on principle; it's just that this forum has had a long-standing problem of members in sig campaigns or bounties making posts in horrible English that are of little to no value.  It would be great if more posts were paid for in the local sections, as that would reduce the number of posts that non English speakers try to make.  I'm not knocking anyone for not knowing English well, because a lot of people here know more than one language and that's admirable--but trying to make substantial posts in a language that you're not fluent in and being incentivized to do so makes for a really bad combination.

And it looks like 2017 again? Lol, we have nothing against those who uses this community to earn some money thru signature campaigns and bounties. But the thing is that this people have been abusing this forum for that sole purpose and that's why the merit system was introduced here.

In any case, good luck to the OP and hopefully the youth that he is mentioning are not the one who is in the bounty section and then posting low quality post to earn here.

Although there are individuals here who become self millionaire because of bitcoin, but those are some early birds, early investors who believed in it and stay that long. And I must add that it's better to get a regular job than solely rely on this community to make money.
407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Spending more or less money on Casino this Holiday season on: December 13, 2023, 08:52:02 PM
I’m actually surprised that the majority won’t be spending more money in casino because it is common that people start looking and deriving means to get Christmas money. Just like most people gamble because they have a financial problem they want to settle, some would do it more because they have a place they would have love to spend some time this Christmas and need to make the money from somewhere (and they always want the money fast too, haha).
Not every gambler gambles only for financial reasons but some gamblers only gamble for entertainment. Just as we play cricket, football, badminton and other sports for entertainment, there are people who gamble for entertainment. Gambling is difficult for those who have financial weakness because managing money for gambling is not an easy task when having financial weakness. Not everyone gambles at this time of December, rather those who are already involved in gambling prefer to gamble a little more but those who are not involved in gambling may spend the extra money on other activities. Whether a person gambles or does something else when they get extra money is entirely a personal decision, but we can only assume that when gamblers get extra money, they spend a portion of that money on gambling.

But lately I see more people who gamble with the intention and purpose of improving their finances or the intention of getting some benefits through winning rather than just looking for fun and entertainment. Lack of financial strength obviously makes it difficult for someone to put money into gambling but on the other hand it is not uncommon for some poor people to force themselves to put money into gambling even though it is not big because their main focus is on multiplying and not for entertainment.

Well there are games that can change someone's life thru gambling and that is winning the lottery. But we all know that the chances are very small on that one. And I do agree about the mindset of the poor, I think they are the first one to really get themselves into gambling and risk their small money because they are looking to multiple it ten folds.

Basically, it is only people or some people who choose to allocate their intentions to gambling activities in this holiday season, and most of them are people who know gambling or have been involved in this activity for a long time. Of course, everyone has their own choices in terms of choosing a place to enjoy the holiday season, on the other hand, I am sure that someone who knows gambling, especially those who are active in gambling, will prefer to put their intentions on gambling when the holiday season has arrived rather than choosing to enjoy it with a vacation with family to several tourist attractions for example.

Everyone could be different though, I'm seeing some gamblers who wanted to make Christmas a very happy holidays for their family so they might stay away from gambling this December or just minimized their activity, and that is right attitude. But who knows, as the saying goes, gamblers will be gamblers, so even if it is holiday, they could be thinking or like a excuse to play and take a chance to make more money.
408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 12, 2023, 10:28:20 PM
^^ Yes, they don't need to rush Magsayo, maybe he still have that sting in his mind about losing his belt and failed to regain it. So for now it like a mental game for him and his team to just get someone in their next fight that he can also beat convincingly.

It could be outside of the top 10 rankings again and then slowly making his name up as he is used to do this before. We never heard him before until he got the championship and then defend it several times, one of the best Filipino champ before.

And with that, in order to regain his status, MP should consider a slow and match making for triple M.
409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 12, 2023, 09:29:35 PM
Man, my Chicago Bulls played another tight game and almost knocked off the Milwaukee Bucks for the second time in a row.  Had that happened, I guess I'd be a bit scared that something spooky is going on lol.  That being said, only losing to the Bucks with Lavine out once again, pretty impressive in my opinion.  They really seems to be on a roll right now that's completely unexpected, I plan to bet that hot hand in the coming days.

I don't know mate, but I'm reading a lot of news lately about the Zach Lavine trade? Maybe this could be one reason why the Bulls is crumbling and losing in close games? This could case issues in the locker room and might affect how they play, just saying.

Some good matchups today and they’re being televised on TNT. First you have the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks which is almost certain to be worth the watch as LeBron James and Luka Doncic facing off never disappoints. Then you have the Suns and Warriors which have their own set of superstars facing off.

According to this tweet,

Quote
@GrantAfseth
Luka Doncic is questionable to play tonight against the Lakers with a lower back contusion. He mentioned being bothered by it after the Mavs' win against the Grizzlies last night.

https://twitter.com/GrantAfseth/status/1734644974044496087

So Luka will be listed as questionable against the Lakers and so is Kyrie Irving. And then we will see if there will be late news about the Lakers superstar as well, whether they will play or not.
410  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2024 halving less than 1 year away on: December 10, 2023, 09:18:30 PM
Yes we all are waiting for halving. The halving date is 24 april 2024.we have only 4 months away from halving. It's to much excited moment for the investor. Bull run already started and the price of bitcoin is increasing. There is no possibility to drop price of bitcoin. Day by day it is increasing in future the price of bitcoin will increase more. It's a dream of every holders to hold deeply until halving. Because every time we seen that the price is increasing very high after halving. Halving is near not much time left hold it strongly. Bitcoin lovers..

We can call it excitement, or something that we are looking forward for. Especially for those who have experience bitcoin halving already, this is something that we know if. I mean this is the catalyst for a bull run. But the effect is that not felt immediately, it could be weeks or months before the price starting to pick up and make a rally. But maybe we can see some difference right now. The price is really on the full swing pre-halving.

This could be a good sign that the bull run will run big, bigger than what we have expected as others putting it around $100k to as high as $180k new all time high. But first, we should continue to stack sats no matter what. This should be our first goal before looking for that block halving and the eventual bull run. So that when it happens then we could be looking for a good profits in 2025.
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 10, 2023, 09:03:35 PM
To all Filipino fans out here, just a heads up that Mark Magsayo will be fighting this weekend against Isaac Avelar of Mexico.

This will be a debut fight for Mark Magsayo on the 130-lbs division. As of now, no bookies have covered this fight but i think odds will be out two or one day before the fight as usual.

Got a feeling that Mark will be having a hard time in the super featherweight division because for me he is small for this weight category, just my thought but i want him to win as usual.

https://www.ringtv.com/661844-mark-magsayo-makes-junior-lightweight-debut-against-isaac-avelar-on-december-9/
But I guess he can't go back to 126-lbs no more, that's why he really need to go up at 130-lbs even if it's going to be hard for him at this weight class. And another interesting fight because it seems that his opponent could be a journey man already.

And as what we call it, a cherry pick fight for him or at least showcase his skills at this new division. And who knows, maybe he could be small here, but he will have to adapt and change his strategy as the now that he is in a new division.

Yeah, there's no way back as he needs to step up to push his career, we don't know what will be the fate awaits him but just like what you menetioned even if it's a cherry pick for him the chance still good to showcase his skills from there he may take some risky fight if he manage to win this one an create his path inside this new division that he's taking.

Weekends is nearly coming if you are a fan then better to save some spare coin/money for Magsayo's odd.

I don't know with you guys if you have bet for Magsayo but i'm very busy that i didn't find the time to browse for the odds, hope you did bet for him as Magsayo is back guys with that brutal left hook knock win over Avelar. That's one scary knockout to see if you are a family member of Avelar. But one thing is for sure, Magsayo power is still with him in the 130-pound division.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCgtB8I8k1M

He still has that power even though we know that it's a cherry-pick from what I see, but a win is still a win for Magsayo and it seems that
In that way, he may gain interest from the promoters. I'll be looking forward to seeing more upcoming fight for him in this new journey on moving up to this division. Maybe if fans push for him and his camp will manage to negotiate, let's see what will happen next for

his career hoping he will earn more fights and also a win for his name.

Right, Magsayo looks huge and power at this new division, he still has the pop in this punch, but he just need to be very careful on who is his next fight because he might cross path with powerful punchers here. Although he has a good chin as been shown here, still though I wouldn't be confident. He should learn how to cover his face and not be countered.

He is just a bit lucky that this is a cherry-pick fight for him so obviously he has the advantage and as what we expected, he get the win and putting his opponent in the canvass. So this could really bost his confidence in the ring and hope that I'm wrong as this is just the way I see him fighting at 130 lbs so don't my word seriously specially for his fans here in the community.
412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 10, 2023, 08:43:54 PM
The great question about this win is this; do we think Lakers are good enough to try for the finals for real? Or did nobody cared about the title here? That is a very important question, Lakers looked like a great team when they won this in season tournament, but will they be able to go for it at the end of the season as well? I am not saying will they win, of course they may not, a team that is great right now may have many issues by the end, like injuries and fatigue, all I am asking are they contenders in your eye? Are they one of the teams that may win the title? To me, they are definitely good enough to have a chance, maybe not that easily but they do have a chance in my book but many do not think so.

For sure in the beginning, no one cares for this title, but when we see the final four teams, something shape up to this team, as we all know that they are all competitive. So firsts, yeah, they care about being the inaugural champion and then Lebron winning his MVP. So I guess this might boost the motivation of the Lakers team to go all the way this year and win the NBA championship and they could set a record for that.

But we all know that in order to win the championship, they will have to go to a grueling playoff series not just one game elimination. And as you have said, factors like fatigue and injuries play a very important role as well. So we shall see long far this Lakers can go without breaking apart.
413  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we see repeat of 2017 or new trend? on: December 09, 2023, 08:44:53 PM
I hope people remember what happened in December 2017 as last quarter of 2017 we witnessed bull run and during second half of December we saw price of Bitcoin dropping down and eventually triggered bearish market for next 3 years approximately and we are going through similar stuff but this is not a full fledged bull run but still we have seen crazy pumps for some Altcoin and even Bitcoin has increased. Are we going to witness price correction or bear market now ? Or else this time it's gonna be different and Bitcoin will reach new ATH and we won't see any bearish pattern in December ?

2017 is a bull run year, you are correct. 2021 November was also a bull run year and we reach all time high as well. But what triggers this massive increased that we are seeing right now that everyone thinks that we are in a bull run is obviously the news about Spot Bitcoin ETF approval. We haven't heard or seen this in the previous years that's why December right looks very bullish.

As for the price correction who knows, the real test is that what will happen after the block halving next year in April? Will we see the pattern repeat again in 2024, that this is going to be huge rally and then seeing the price in 2025 to be at the 6 digits? For me this is a big possibility and that the pattern will not break.

I think there was a discussion about this, they call it super-cycle like 2 big cycles that is going to happen before all time high, but I disagree to that theory.
414  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Staying away from scam. on: December 09, 2023, 08:28:27 PM
It's the end of the year again, where the pressure of wanting to "flex" or look fulfilled for the year, while in reality the year might have not gone so well.
So many people look for get rich schemes with ridiculous percentage gain, this scammers know there's an increase desperation by people this period.
So they ride on your greed to make it quick and rip you off your hard earned funds.
It's imperative you take your time, know what you're getting into before venturing into it, remember all that glitters isn't gold. If it's too good too be true,my friend I can tell you for free, it's most likely to be too good to be true.
Stay safe my friend.

I think we can't stressed that enough, we have seen lot of forms and shapes of scam in crypto, impersonations for one like in Twitter, or too good to be true offer like luring you to a investment that will give you huge returns and others.

The best weapon against this scam is to really educate our selves. This should be the first thing that we should learn when we get ourselves involved in crypto. I myself was a victims of such scams as well in the beginning, I don't know if you heard about "bitcoin doubler" before. But when I enter crypto space it is one of the most rampant scams being run but I was gullible as a newbie and like the rest of those who have been a victims, attracted to the huge % that is supposedly be your profits without doing anything in your end. So it's a big lessons for me and I was glad that it did happen early. Now I equip myself with knowledge and promise not to fall for any scams in the future.
415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 09, 2023, 12:17:24 PM

I would choose to see a brutal KO but not betting on it. You know, Haney is just too smart and that's the reason why lots of fans are hating him due to his style, like Shakur, they don't bring the excitement that is expecting for a boxing fight. Haney being the heavy favorite, I think Prograis felt disrespected since he's the champion, that's why he wanted to knockout Haney to prove to the people that he owns the throne.

I hope he can, he is highly motivated based on what we saw on their face off he really hates Haney, but that's what Haney wants you to feel, to hate him so he can use that hate against you, we have seen that happened on many of his matches, especially on Kambosos, he just waited for Kambosos to pour so he can counter.
We have a saying style makes a fight, even though Haney is the challenger I don't think will bring the fight to Prograis, only if he sees that he can take Prograis fight.

For Prograis to win he should dominate the early rounds or knock him out because Haney is good at accumulating points, especially in the latter or championship rounds, he should take the fight to Haney and try to take away Haney's game of hit and run.

For Haney to win, he will just wait for Prograis to make mistakes and pile up a lot of points Haney may be a boring fighter but his style is guaranteed to win the fight

Perhaps the hatred is really real, or these boxers are just using it for motivation or like a psyche war, if Haney can get into Prograis head then he might have the edge when the fight begins because all Regis think is to go there and put Haney to sleep. But as we know, Haney uses skills to evade punches, so those early rounds will be crucial for Regis to touch Haney and let him feel his power.

I think that's what happen with Haney vs Linares, Jorge almost got Haney early and almost knock him down. But Haney was able to withstand those early rounds and then win the fight by decision. So let's see what will be the strategy of Prograis and his camp in this fight, it seems that they are really eager to get into the ring and beat up Haney.
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe you can win on sports betting by analyzing a betting lines only? on: December 09, 2023, 07:12:26 AM
Isn't that obvious?

Yep, that's how it is, odd makers, knows about it at the very onset, that's why they can put as low as certain favorites to be like 1.01x odds in some matches. And then you can see some as close like 1.8 to 1.9x odds.

But in any case you like to to against what the odd makers put because you know a thing about the sports that you are betting, then for sure you will have to with your instinct specially if the odds are very high and the odd makers are wrong about it.
417  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best game provider? on: December 09, 2023, 06:25:58 AM
This has to be some of the weirdest astroturfing I have seen.

OP, of you own this site, you can make a simple announcement thread instead of this mess.
Secondly, your website is region blocking users. The linked casino seems to only be accepting users from certain regions, probably only the UK, and blocks everyone else. Honestly no reason to promote region blocking casinos in an international forum...

I don't think that he is the owner of the site, if he is then he should be writing a good ANN thread here. Perhaps he just unwittingly wanted to shill this site to us or doesn't knows the rule of this community.

And thank you, it you says that this is online gambling is base on certain region then it's not for some of us here.

So better just stay away from this kind of shilling as the casino doesn't have any reputation from our community.
418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The worst slot provider ever? on: December 08, 2023, 08:31:43 PM
I will start with Hacksaw and Wazdan... In my experience, these two are the worst of them all! Almost impossible to hit some bonus round with normal spins, and most bonus rounds pays under x10...

But as you suggest more providers I will add them to the poll. So let's find the worst provider ever! Smiley

I will go with Hacksaw gaming, yeah, I do agree that it's hard to win bonus rounds, regardless of how small or how big you (max bet) you put into their games. And you really have that luck in your side to win big against them.

And if I hit the bonus round, I feel very excited because I' thinking that I might get a good returns.

However, I will just get like a return of money or capital from that bonus. Although I will admit that their games are really that exciting and maybe this is the reason why people still prefer them even they are worst in terms of round pays.
419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 08, 2023, 08:13:36 PM
Third quarter 43-17. Lakers won easily, they didn't even sweat. Bucks lost so I believe Lakers will win this tournament without showing extra performance. Another unique achievement for LeBron before he retires.
In-season tournament is like local cups in football, it brings more excitement in regular season but I'm not sure if it was necessary and if it attracted enough attention.
I think there was a little attraction to the new cup system and American public was hesitant to comprehend this style, yet I can see some excitement. The problem is timing, in my opinion. It was too early in the season to do this tournament. And it was too quick. If this was organized after the all star break, it would have been more exciting. Teams would take it more serious too probably. And most of the teams will have better team chemistry later in the season, so the games would be better also. The football and basketball cups like this tournament happen in much more weeks and it is better.

In the beginning, I think everyone is confused about this tournament and maybe fans are not that excited. But as we get to the semis and then majority of us caught about the new system and new format, and seeing teams that pull an upset like the Indiana Pacers and they are not expected to be in finals, then it makes it more interesting now.

So they will have to face the Lakers with Lebron still playing like he was still in his prime. Against a tough defense and Haliburton's rise this season, it's really hard to see who will win but based on the comments, it seems that majority favored the Lakers but will not be surprised if the Pacer continue with it's killer run in this tournament and won it's inauguration trophy.

Have read that there is a rumor that has it, Canelo will be fighting Bivol in a rematch this May and it will be held in the 168-pound division. But the catch here is neither boxer would reach the 178 lbs come fight night, for me this is the same as the rehydration clause that Team Canelo is master of doing on their opponents.

What's your though on this guys, do Bivol would take the bait?

When was this rumor surfaces though? Because I remember Canelo interview before the John Ryder fight is that his goal is to fight Bivol or to rematch him at 175 lbs. So I guess that decision has change already if this latest rumor is true.

It's really up to Bivol to take the bait or not. I thought Bivol will have a fight this coming December.

Maybe this is just a get busy fight for him until he gets into Canelo or even Beterbiev. But if Canelo is chasing greatness then it should be at Light-HW because that is where they first fought. If it is 168 lbs then that is obviously Canelo's territory.
