1361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 03, 2023, 11:59:44 AM

I'm not sure though if Donaire is thinking retirement, I never heard from him telling the public about his plans. Even after Inoue knock him out, he still want to chase greatness at 115 lbs against Estrada, but now he chance his plans.

He still wants to fight, but I believe he mentioned that he wants to retire as a champion, so he would like to get a belt again, and with what happened. I don't know anymore if Donaire can still have a championship fight soon, seems like the chance is not fair for older fighters nowadays.

Quote
Perhaps we should give him like 2-3 years to fight or less than that before he thinks of hanging his gloves for good.

But right now, the opportunity is there so why not take it.

But he cannot wait longer, he needs to be active to have more fights and to test himself if he still can dominate in this division.

I haven't seen a boxer who quit on top though, I mean if he becomes a champion again, I doubt he will just say's no I don't want to fight again. So obviously, it's up to the result of his next fight, whether it will be against someone like Rodriguez or Gaballo.

2-3 years might be quite long enough for his career, he is already 40 years old, and once a fighter reaches that age, sooner or later his body will be very different because of the effect, the wear and tear of being in this business for many years.

You are right, there's a lot of opportunity when you are a champion, so why would a boxer retire? It doesn't make sense, if he does really say it, then I think he has a different mindset, he values his achievement more than the money he will potentially get in future fights. Of course, there are boxers who retires during their peak, just like Mayweather.

Mayweather doesn't want to lose that's why he retire, didn't give Manny a rematch and contented that no one take his 0.

As compare to the GOAT like Muhammad Ali who is willing to face the best and not afraid to lose.

So for Inoue this is yet another opportunity for him to fight for the belt win or lose and he might be looking to set another record. If Manny become the older 147 lbs champion at 40 years old, Donaire can set that record too at the bantamweight division.
1362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 03, 2023, 11:18:14 AM
How about the Brooks vs Mitchell fight? The Grizzlies added more competition or... enemies.  Cheesy Brooks cheap shot, too obvious.
Here's the link.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsGHffZziv0
Brooks trying to be the Draymond Green V2.0 isn't he? Cheesy
Cheap shots here, cheap shots there, trash talking other teams. Still the word that made him popular is the term "dynasty" which is un-applicable to them.

They will be hated in a bad way, GSW was hated before because they are too good during their runs. But it's the opposite with Memphis, they are too cocky, Morant, Bane, Jackson, Brooks and Brandon Clarke. They haven't proven anything and yet they talk about dynasty and trying to be the bad guys in the NBA. It's was obvious a cheap shot and they have been running their mouths throughout the game and so Mitchell just snap when he felt that shot thrown on him. And with that, they completely destroyed Memphis in this game.
1363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Charitable Casinos on: February 03, 2023, 10:10:42 AM
I'm aware that some of the proceeds of casino are often put on some charitable institutions, but still depends on the casino owner themselves. Because we all know that they are in the business of making money so it might be some conflict there.

But here there are casinos being sponsored by government or under their umbrella, so the proceeds really goes to the government and not just for charity.

So it's good to hear that there are still casinos who donated part of their revenues to charitable institutions.
1364  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Still in a Consolidation Phase, Can the Market Be Predicted? on: February 02, 2023, 08:57:15 PM
The $23300 to $24400 support-resistance range is considered to be a defensive zone for the bulls and bears after the bullish gains of January 20. If a bullish breakout occurs before the end of January, bitcoin price is likely to reach the $25K level soon.

Price resistance or at least considered to be defensive zone are round numbers, so it might be $30k in our case.

Due to the continued price rally, BitcoinBTC speculators consider the $20,000-conceptual round level as key support. This rapid rally turned the scenario into a sell-off at higher highs and till now the bulls are leading the market.

Definitely, but we have broken that already, and we are around the $24k-$25k, so that will be the support for now. But I do agree that bulls is in control, and if you short bitcoin, then you are going to lose money here.

Long positions are increasing in the market in view of the higher-low formation. Market leader-Bitcoin may soon break this box pattern due to positive market sentiment.

Yes, that's what I said, we should go long here, although the price is increasing by day, it still make sense to accumulate, still very cheap, no need to buy 1 bitcoin right away, steady is the name of the game, do DCA.
1365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 02, 2023, 08:38:14 PM
That's for sure because this is a rare scenario and probably one of the most memorable play in the league because there will be another player who will pass Kareem's scoring title and that would take a lot of time before LeBron will get dethroned by someone in the next generations.

May take a while but maybe sooner. The way the game is being played right now, the scoring title can be over took sooner. We are seeing high scoring games lately and I barely see games with scores under 100. Stars are shooting 3s like it is just a perimeter shot. If this kind of game continues, a prolific scorer with a durable body will be able to do it.

Aside from that, the league is now improving and even the big guys now are shooting beyond the arc with high percentage. So different from what he saw back in the day because the big guys are focused to guard the center and doing the most physical play. And, I almost forgot, this season alone, it's quite unexpected that players are now easily putting 40-50 points in any given game.

Probably but the key is how consistent they will be in the future in order to beat that record to be set by Lebron before he retires. Even if this guys are scoring 40-50 points in any game but they are not that consistent, missing games and injuries it will be hard to break that record.

There are no one in the top 10 of the scoring leaders that are active, the closest is #14 who is Kevin Durant, and then Harden and Westbrook #27 and #28 on that list.
1366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 02, 2023, 03:06:25 PM

Yeah, he has proven that he can win outside of his native country Japan. But if this one is going to be held in Saitama again, Inoue will have so much confident because he wanted to please the crowd again, just like what he did against Donaire, devastating knockout win.

Perhaps we may want to re-phrase that, chances of Fulton are slim to stop the train hype of the Inoue. Naoya is on a destructive path that we don't know who is going to beat him in 122 lbs.

Fulton is really in a tough challenge here as Inoue will be the crowd favorite despite being the challenger. I can't imagine this fight will end in judges' scorecards as if we follow the trend, Inoue will easily win here via KO. As long as Fulton is willing to go toe to toe, it will not be a boring fight, and of course, he has to suffer a painful defeat as Inoue is such a heavy hitter.

Depends how tough Fulton's chin against Inoue's power. But we all know that there are no chin in the boxer that can't be broken. Sooner or later, they will have to face a boxer that punches hard and their chin are going to be soft.

Fulton might not go toe to toe because it will be dangerous for him and will try to avoid Inoue's power punch. Not saying it will be boring, but Fulton could not be willing to go fight in that strategy in the first half of the fight but then will adjust how the fight goes.
1367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: really no kyc crypto casino on: February 02, 2023, 02:52:38 PM
Cloudbet is doing kyc and its joke, they ask you to make selfie outside with street sign saying your address, in same time holding today's date newspape + write "Cloudbet *and today date*" and in same time holding ID card

I think next thing they ask is nudes from my wife

about Playbetr no idea how they are A rated bookmaker.. probably they pay someone on this thread good money, there are numerous complaints against them everywhere and on every platform their review numbers are so low.

duelbits and nitrobetting are the best so far from my own personal experience

1) After that blood sample is a must  Cheesy

2) Duelbits ask for KYC, selfies and other shit

OP as I mention earlier Nitrobetting is your choice.

Lol, it gives me a good chuckle about asking for wife nudes,  Grin

Seriously though, every casino is going to do KYC, of course we don't want to do it, but times has change for better or for worst, it's no longer when we can play anonymously with just our bitcoin addresses and that's it.

And probably this is the price we have to pay for bitcoin and crypto in general going mainstream.
1368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers stole $3.8 billion from crypto investors (mainly through Defi) in 2022 on: February 02, 2023, 01:29:30 PM
It is probably more then this. If we consider the amount of people that have invested in altcoins and the devs have vanished after getting the money. I think we are probably over 10 billion losses. This is not a good look on cryptocurrencies and it is annoying that people are just out to get profit instead of trying to promote cryptocurrencies in a positive way. Some of these hacks were intentional and done by inside jobs instead of a person on the outside gaining access and I do not think they can be called 'hacks'

Rug pulls, hacks and scams, everyone is losing and it could be in tune of billions upon billions every year.

So this is the start of 2023, and sooner or later we will hear another bad news in the altcoin market including hacks from cyber criminals and I don't see it stopping anytime soon.

We may say that this is also part of the ecosystem, and as much as we don't want to hear this kind of news, definitely we might hear it again and again.
1369  Economy / Speculation / Re: what now ? on: February 01, 2023, 05:31:22 PM
Bitcoin is very bullish at the moment ,
what you guys think , it's a short term rally or beginning of bull market
or I missed the bottom
i am something less active so ,
Want some updates

Bitcoins are in the range of 23k usd for more than a week now. So yes it will be really hard to claim that if it is the beginning of the bull market. I am not saying that this is a short term rally, but yes this is some sort of relief for the Bitcoin holders. Regarding the bottom, yes OP you have missed it. Bitcoins won’t fall below 16k usd at least for now. Many people like you already missed the best price to buy Bitcoins. So don’t think more and buy BTC at current price. If BTC continues this pace, then definitely after 1 month you will see good profit.

It's been hovering around that price range for about a week now and it seems we can't get over to the next phase at $24k and beyond. So hard to say if we are still in the bullish momentum or there are more sellers to take short profits because of this recent run.

But it's hard to wait specially if we are waiting for it to go down and even think of another lowest low for this year.

So as not to missed, the best way for the OP is to buy whether this is the beginning or bull market or just short term rally, you can never go wrong with continuing to accumulate.
1370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 01, 2023, 05:11:42 PM
We will see in this match if Donaire can still fight on his usual and claim again another world title. If happened, he will be the older boxer to get a championship title.
Definitely he could fight and you are right I think he will try a few more fights before he decided to retire it would actually be a good thing to happen to win a championship at 40 but honestly it's would be a little bit difficult as Moloney is younger and faster, if Donaire would won this match it would be either on split decision and not by KO/TKO this is going to be an interesting match let's see if Donaire can still show his "The Flash" moves.

If this fight materialized then the best way for Donaire to beat Moloney is by KO/TKO. It will be hard for a 40-year-old fighter to win rounds en route to a decision victory. Donaire is not the Flash anymore according to his last fights. So Moloney will be the quicker fighter and will be winning rounds. While Donaire will wait for the counters or use his patience and timing to catch Moloney with his powerful hooks. My bet is Donaire by KO/TKO. The only way Donaire wins a decision against the younger Moloney is by knocking him down and hurting him several times and forcing the Australian into survival mode.

Donaire still has the timing as he age, so his counter will be his best weapon, I think he is called Flash because of his super counter punching specially that left. And so he still possesses that at this stage of his career and very important weapon even if his opponent his much faster that him.

The ring IQ as well, that's why he had beaten a lot of good boxers because he knows how he will set them up, with his fake and feints. So I will agree that it's possible that he can win by KO/TKO after round 5 here.
1371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 01, 2023, 04:53:25 PM
Even though Mark Magsayo has the power to knock out Figueroa, he still has a lot to do concerning his training because if he can't execute those power punches, it won't be his secret weapon. This guy is good and really needs to work harder to improve because he has the potential to become a phenomenal champion if only he can get straight wins via K.O. But he always gets nervous and loses focus when the battle begins, giving his opponents some chances to score against him and eventually win against him as he does in his last fight. He better learn to finish his opponent until the judges no longer have doubt in their decisions.

Just the problem with fighters who just rely on their power, it that failed, they don't have a plan B just like what Magsayo. Figueroa has a solid chin, and he really moves a lot, and if I'm not mistaken, could be a bit taller which is a weakness of Magsayo as well as he had difficulty fighting against boxers that is taller than him. And if it goes to the judges score card, I doubt that Magsayo can also get the decision. So this fight is all or nothing for him at this stage of his career, a lost will put his career on a standstill as he will not to proved himself ready for title shots again.
1372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 01, 2023, 11:31:54 AM
Hard for me to believe that Lakers won in OT last night. Without LeBron and AD , lakers are really a total different team that can't even fight for playoffs but with them in the court , everything changes for Lakers.

Also , with this W from last night , their chances to catch playoffs are once again in their hands but still , if AD or Lebron will miss some games due to injuries , I'm afraid Lakers dream of catching playoffs will be crushed.

They need this win, actually they are leading in the last couple of minutes. But the Knicks were able to make a comeback but unfortunately, Randle didn't became a hero, missed that shot completely and then Lebron working on the OT and not let this game slip away from him.

Sad for Bulls too , as my team simply doesn't have the same chemistry between players like they had last year and I think it's all to LaVine as even last night he had a poor performance.

Unfortunately, the Bulls chemistry are a bit off right now, it's hard to pinpoint where are the issues, Lavine and DeRozan are not working together. It's only Vucevic who have been playing consistent in the last games average double double. But the rest are very awful and not jiving, something has to change from the lineup.
1373  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price 2023 on: January 30, 2023, 03:27:16 AM
2023 makes me optimistic, the increase has been more than 40% when compared to the last price in 2022, maybe there could be another correction but I'm sure it won't be like what happened before because of the big cases namely LUNA and FTX, but I won't be too easy on this tempted to sell immediately, I still remember that the highest price I ever bought in 2021 was over $55k and I want to be profitable again in 2023.
In 2022 I suffered a lot of big losses from many places. I first got big losses from Luna. But after a few months I forgot about them I got another big hit from FTX and now I am very sad.  For bitcoin price increase I think if bitcoin price increase I can recover all my losses. I don't believe in anything but bitcoin now.

Sorry to hear your losses mate, for sure though you might get over with it, and then the big lessons here, those altcoins are really very risky and it's better to just put everything with bitcoin as this point.

I didn't lose any money on those projects fortunately and I just stick to where I know is going to get me somewhat time to sleep tight because it won't just simply fall overnight although the risk is still there. Yes, just go with bitcoin and hold and see how the price will go in the next bull run and hopefully it will be enough for you to recover your losses.
1374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 30, 2023, 03:04:31 AM
Really hard to see how the Beterbiev vs Bivol will turn out. Obviously, Beterbiev has the power, but Bivol has the footprint and the volume punching.

Agree. It's hard to imagine what will be the output if they will clash.

However, I might side with Bivol here. He knows how to counter strong punchers, even how dominant that boxer is, with his patient style of strategy.
The difference that I see between the 2 is that, Bivol can really move faster, he's a volume puncher and those punches have power. On the other hand, Beterbiev's slower than Bivol, not a volume puncher like Bivol, but his punches are stronger than Bivol and he also has the reach advantage over him as well (by only 1 inch).

I just watch Bivol's highlights against Joe Smith Jr and Beterbiev against Smith Jr. Bivol won against him by Unanimous Decision while Beterbiev just destroyed him in just 2 rounds. That alone might be a proof that power > speed (at least for me).

Overall, Beterbiev said on an interview that he wants to fight Bivol and if this happens (maybe this year), I'll side with Beterbiev with this one.

Yes, that's what you like about Beterbiev, now we hear that he wanted to fight his fellow Russian in a unification.

But the comparison or style is really contrasting as what other have define it. In any case though, obviously power > speed. But if that power can't connect, it will be a big waste. And if the speed always connect although not that powerful, it might have a effect as the fight goes on.

So very hard to digest this upcoming fight to be honest.
1375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: January 30, 2023, 02:22:21 AM
There are some rumors circulating that it is possible that the fight deal won't realized because Haney had found way to evade Lomachenko by asking higher percentage income on the fight.  If we can recall Haney had demanded some advantage on the split and Lomachenko camp agreed.  Now Haney is asking for another raise of percentage and the camp of Lomachenko hasn't replied yet.

That will be bad though if we fans are not going to see this fight as we have been somewhat giving hope that this fight is 99% done by Top Rank. But in any case, it should be Arum to give the demands here. I remember that Hatton and Pacquiao fight, it was also stalled because Hatton wanted more money. And according to Bob Arum, the extra $1 million that Hatton wanted was given to him in his own pocket.

Anyhow, hopefully they can make a concessions here so that we won't missed another great fight for this year. Arum better be work this out, and give what these boxers deserved or wanted to make a deal.
1376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 29, 2023, 05:57:58 PM
Brooklyn Nets won against the New York Knicks.
This is a big one for them, win as much as possible on every game until KD is back. Kyrie Irving is consistent in his offensive contribution to the team.
With 30+ points for their last 6 games, he is always the top scorer for the team.
Another Nets player that's in the spotlight is Nic Claxton. He is racking up those rebounds and scoring if he has the chance in the painted area. A very big help when they needed it the most. He registered a double-double for his last 4 games.

Los Angeles Clippers also won their games against the Atlanta Hawks.
That is the 5th winning streak of the Clippers, they are looking pretty well coming back from the lead created by the Hawks in the first half.
Now the question is, will Kawhi play a back-to-back game because they have a game tomorrow? Just to continue the streak.

Yeah that is the big question for Clippers, if they want to maintain their winning streak though, perhaps it's better to have Kahwi play here. He is really instrumental in their run so they want to continue that momentum against a struggling Cavs next.

And I do agree that is a big win by the Nets against their rivals. At least, Joe Harris and Royce O'Neal step up in this game with no Ben Simmons,  Smiley. Irving huge 32 points to lead the Nets as they needed this win badly.
1377  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will 2023 be another up year for Bitcoin? on: January 29, 2023, 04:56:12 PM
The bitcoin trend will usually go up after the previous year dropped, if we pay attention to trends like this that are often repeated, the growing community is the reason that bitcoin's potential will skyrocket in the future and specifically in 2023 I'm sure it can touch at least 2x from the current price, now is the time to continue buying before the bull run occurs.
Today the Bitcoin price increase is almost $24K and it looks like Bitcoin will indeed end the month in the $24K price range which is great for Bitcoin in its recovery at the start of the year. And for a price that is 2x the current price, it is clear that it is still very possible for Bitcoin as long as there is no further correction that is too big, but I don't think that the range of $48K - $50K will arrive in the first quarter of this year. Because an increase always takes more time than a decrease which can happen in an instant.

We have seen this already, after reaching this high, there is some minor correction. So hopefully this time, reaching $23,500, we can bolt out and move to $24k. That's how it has been in this run since the beginning of the year and hopefully it won't break the pattern. Might be better to see $48k-$50k this year, no need to a quick and very fast increased and then follow by a huge correction. So yeah, the increase will take some time and it's going to be better than that. But for now it's better to see how this run will go, I think $25k will be the first goal for this quarter.
1378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: January 29, 2023, 12:09:09 PM

Again, if you haven't seen Fulton fight, he doesn't have the same power as Inoue, he wasn't able to bring down Figueroa on his last fight. On the other hand, he could have taken a lot of damages during that fight. Yes he won, but the score is really close. And as I have said, he could have been soften by Figueroa and then Inoue just go for the kill and maybe knock him out, just saying.

Which makes Inoue different because there's no fighter that he has a close fight, well, the closest was Donaire because he survive the 12 rounds, but the result was still all in favor on Inoue since Inoue won via Unanimous decision. This might be a debut of Inoue but despite that, I'm sure he will not struggle and his confidence is still very high, he likes a real action because he got bored in his last fight where he won the undisputed champion.

There's no need to compare their records, it's very obvious, we already know who is the better fighter here. The thing is, even if Fulton is the champ, if he will be able to defend his title, people will react thinking it was an upset. That's how big their trust to Inoue since Inoue has been knocking down opponents, a monster with no fear, that's who he is.

Well if the odds favor Inoue (most likely), and then Fulton is the underdog then we can call it an upset if he wins because of that. Yes, I also see him not struggling, it's just 4 pounds of weight and he could easily make it without any struggle and could make him big and feeling powerful as well.

Yes, the record of Inoue says it all, so we can't really discount that, he is knocking everyone in the 118 lbs, including Donaire and against his last fight in Butler. So in terms it will be an upset technically even if Fulton is the champion and Inoue is the challenger.
1379  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tether and BUSD and usd inflation for long term savings? on: January 29, 2023, 11:37:25 AM
Hi
I am newbie about saving investments on my private wallets and some market wallets (binance etc.).
I have BTC, Tether and BUSD in my wallets. I dont want to risk it with buying btc and any other coins. Sometimes I withdraw usdt and busd by converting to my own domestic currency.
But holding money with usdt and busd is also has risks and plus usd inflation devalues the money over long term.
So, what do you suggest for me?

Not good to used those stable coins for inflation, I mean they are pegged to USD 1:1 so how can your protect yourself, it's better to look for coins like Bitcoin to be honest.

You are in crypto, everything is at risk here, although it's less in Bitcoin in my opinion as compare to most altcoins.

And one thing about this stable coins is that they are centralized as well and there are questions if Tether for example is really back up by 1:1 or fractional reserves.
1380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 29, 2023, 11:10:33 AM
Chances are high for Djokovic to win the match and the Australian Open against Tsitsipas.

The second set might have been everything for Tsitsipas but he lost on the tie break. Now Djokovic 2 sets up, and leading the 3rd set now.

Tsitsipas will have to pull some miracle here, he has to look as winning just one set just to be able to maintain and be in the game. So it's a battle of the mental aspect as well and Djokovic has the edge. 3-3 Djokovic serving in the 3rd set.

Edit: Unforgiving Djokovic, 3rd set win in another tie break. Congrats to win, another AO trophy added.
