....still waiting for conversion of my MMQ order. Can you comment on this please ?
Would be unpleasant to reverse that, as i come from europe.

please send me email right now with your order number and I will take care of it

btw: the middle finger is not directed to inaba or bfl

I just really can't stand Mitt Romney.

Because of the security concerns people have expressed, I have purchased an SSL cert from Trustwave ssl

I will let you know when its installed

Google checkout has been removed due to problems with their callback API - when i get it fixed it will be back online

You can still securely pay with Bitcoin, Dwolla, and my regular Credit Card Processor, for those who require the extra security stay tuned for our SSL to be up and running.

thanks!

Well I just pre-ordered my ASIC, however I made sure to use google checkout. I am somewhat uneasy when I see a site taking credit credits when none of that information seems to be encryped (no ssl or whatnot). Whats up with that?

although our site does not have its own SSL certificate

the credit card info is processed over HTTPS via our processor Stripe.com

It is totally secure and we never get any access to any of your credit card information

for more information on Stripe's secure API please read here:

https://stripe.com/docs/api#authentication

LOLZ.

Is this an auction or a dick measuring contest?

not at all , (i overcompensate for that in other ways Tongue ) j/k

I just wasnt sure when I could be back here to bid on it again and did'nt want to lose.

As of today we are taking pre-orders for shipment in November/December
If for some reason we cannot ship on time we will certainly offer full refunds to those who request them.
qft

not sure what qft means but as far as my refund policy on the bASIC unit I will accept a refund at any time up until we actually start shipping them, and then only on a case by case basis. I will post this on the website terms so you dont have to qft Wink

434  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ModMiner Quad High Efficiency FPGA Bitcoin Mining Devices 840Mh/s BTCFPGA.com on: September 05, 2012, 01:29:21 AM
There is a bug with the google checkout API where google does not parse the information back to my web site

do not worry though your order is confirmed and your shipping queue is set, if you order and pay via google checkout you will receive order status updates in your google wallet.

Google checkout is actually meant to be a backup CC processor for those who have problems using our primary. If you want to use Credit/Debit card just select the option Credit/Debit card

these orders are processed through Stripe.com

if for some reason it fails then you can try Google Checkout as a backup, or of course you can use google checkout as your choice if that's but you want but it is the only payment gateway that does not currently fully integrate with our website

also just to note I answered a lot of emails and Pm's today if you did not get a response I will answer them tomorrow

thank you

To answer some questions...

No these are not FPGA "hard Copy" chips

These would be considered Cell Based ASIC

I am not going into specific details about certain aspects of the prototype asics / mining unit because some of this may change from prototype to production

Please note I do not claim to be the technical mind behind all of this, this protoype has been achieved through leases, and contractors

the SHA256 hashing core was (not designed by me) it was leased through a overseas design firm

the prototype asics themselves were made in a multi project wafer run program through a university

we are still shopping around for a long term manufacturer of these asics

the mining units will be assembled at the same place that assembles the modminer quad.

I am still working on getting caught up with emails, if you send me an email you should receive a reply some time today

I will answer PM's as well but it's almost always better to email me.

thanks!

*** we are only guaranteeing a minimal performance of 27Gh/s all other hardware details are subject to change possibly without notice
(we are still prototyping after all)

Hey cablepair!  Welcome to the world of haters and doubters, have a cup of coffee and sit back and soak in the distrust and hate!  Bring your sunblock though, you'll get burned otherwise.

thanks inaba Smiley

Its awesome that there will be so many options for ASIC mining going forward and one company wont be able to dominate.

Are you going to sell a coffee warmer  Cheesy

Oohhh that would be wicked!!  You could call it the Cuaresmeno.  Wink

Great work Tom! I am extremely happy to see a BFL competitor and look forward to the months to come Smiley

I certainly do not have the funding or the resources to release 3 separate mining devices like BFL (sorry no coffee warmers)

that is why we are focusing on something that can compete with their mid-grade unit.

wow, the response for this is bigger than I thought it would be, plus I have been dropping hints around the forum for months and talking to a lot of people about this so I did not realize it would be that big of a surprise
I've been around, and besides the poll you post a few days ago, I havn't seen any "hints". Needless to say, I was quite surprised.

Can the comparisons to BFL just stop? From both sides? Or put it into a different thread? I've never been a fan of the MMQ, but I've always given Tom props where props are due, such as always having consistent shipping times. I just had to read 3 pages of bickering trying to weed thru any information from Tom I could find.

So a few questions!

27GH/s... Is that for multiple chips, or each module? Meaning 4 chips on a quad backplate (like the MMQ) would each get ~6.5GH/s?

it is from multiple chips, exact details of the exact target ASIC technology and the amount of chips on the bASIC unit will be public in the next couple of days

Is there an option (like the MMQ) to order just a board with 1 chip?

At what point will you issue a refund if the order is not fulfilled? End of December? 90 days after an order has been placed?

since we are taking pre-orders right now we will issue a refund at any time

Will these use the same back-plate as the MMQ? Will there be an option to purchase new modules to upgrade an existing MMQ?

it is a completely different pcb setup

You said you don't know what the power draw will be? By "more efficient" than a MMQ, is that total power, or MHs/W? If the latter, this could use > 1.2KW and still me considered "more efficient".

this will be public info in a few days

By the time this is released, will this be supported by BFGMiner?

I have already hired Luke-JR to write the firmware for our MCU chip as well as to make BFGMiner compatible with the bASIC mining unit

Will the initial orders be shipped all at once, or shipped as soon as they are ready on a first-come-first-served basis?

bASIC units will be assembled at the same plant that the ModMiner Quad's are, they will be produced in batches of 30-50 every 5-10 days and shipped out on first come first served basis

Very interesting... very interesting indeed.
say word. Wink

PM's have been answered

the amount of email inquiries is overwhelming right now - I will do my best to make sure they are all answered in the AM.

thank you.

its those little ads you see in the middle of threads. I am glad your underwhelmed because I am already overwhelmed Tongue
