I'm not saying Poch will def not be a success.  He very may well could be a success.  All I'm saying is it won't be a surprise if he's given the sack after a year or if they still have an empty trophy cabinet.
I agree but I think in the case of Chelsea, their fans have been through a lot of disruption and problems over the past few years therefore they will be patient with Pochettino as they need to start building stability.

Never in my experience watching football over the years have the fans become more patient the longer they went on a dry spell.  Lol.  Not especially the fans of a club that has the culture like Chelsea's...  :/

If anything, it fuels their frustration.  I mean look at Arsenal.  They removed Wenger of all people because the club's top brass finally gave in to the fans' demands...  Just to find out Wenger wasn't the problem.  Cheesy Cheesy  So they had to endure worst results than what Wenger was bringing them.  They're lucky Arteta turned out to be a decent manager.  Chelsea wasn't so lucky with Lampard.

The UFC's YT channel uploaded the first match up between Ankalaev and Walker which happened just a couple of months ago or so.  These guys were lined at dead evens before this match happened and just seeing around three minutes between these guys, it showed that Ankalaev has the strength advantage.  If he didn't throw those illegal blows, it's safe to say that he would've had the advantage going into R2 and would've won the fight.

Anyway, if I could do my picks at the Multi Master again, I'd take another shot with another underdog in Gaston Bolanos...  McGhee is so so.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does the CHIA (XCH) coin still have growth potential? on: January 09, 2024, 01:27:59 PM
Hello, everyone. Over the past two years, I have purchased 120 XCH, and my average buying price remains at $184. The developers have decided against conducting an ICO in both 2022 and 2023, opting instead for the transition from energy-efficient coin farming to regular GPU mining (plots that required for proof are now created on GPUs). My question is whether it is worth waiting for this year or the Bram Cohen's coin have no chances against altcoins like ETH and Sol ant it's time to record a losses?

Sorry there bud, but the meta has gone way past Brian Cohen's pet project and his proof of work alternative to airdrop farming and modern ETH alternate chains.

If you wanna make money in crypto then you should go with the times.  I also once thought privacy was going to be a huge thing in crypto and also thought everything was going to make a shift towards XMR.  But I was wrong.  No one really cares about privacy anymore.

And the funny thing is there are just a couple of guys that I've seen in BCT who are updated on the meta in crypto.
424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Airdrops speculations thread on: January 09, 2024, 01:18:41 PM
Today I noticed that the previously posted link to Aevo was copied and pasted incorrectly by me. The correct link should look like this: https://app.aevo.xyz/perpetual/dym I changed the incorrect link in the original message to the correct one. For reference:

Today, DYM is trading at $4.

I'm hearing on Twitter that DYM won't be able to sustain this price and will likely dump to around $1.5 upon launch, and they are suggesting to short it on Aevo. What do y'all think?

I was better off making individual threads for airdrops, in this thread we have 3 people discussing. This is not good.

I'll say the, guys at Twitter want you to dump early so they could buy in cheap at a huge bargain.  Cheesy Cheesy  And with the meta for airdrop farming going towards TIA, DYM and other Cosmos based projects, I think the price could only increase for this year and the next.  Imagine how much airdrops are given away to DYM stakers when rollapp projects start getting launched with Dymension at the back end.  Oof, don't make the mistake of dumping your tokens.  Just stake them and if the price does go down, buy and add more.  Wink

In other news, just announced yesterday.  MANTA is going to airdrop to TIA stakers.  No snapshot announced yet.
425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: January 09, 2024, 01:11:04 PM

Poch's success is anything but assured.  Remember, they also got rid of their greatest manager yet in Mourinho.  So that shows that nobody is immune from the inevitable sacking if the team doesn't get the results.

It's just the way football is right now.  It's a bad culture and it's really sad to see that almost no club would be willing to stick with their manager through thick and thin.

Nowadays there are few clubs in the Premier League that would stick with their manager through thick and thin. The days of the board being loyal to their manager were over a long time ago.

If Chelsea sack Pochettino there is not a large pool of available managers to choose from therefore it will almost be like they are taking a step back. After they made a mistake hiring Potter they need stability and for that Pochettino is the best option for Chelsea. They are fortunate to have him and he must be given time to manage the team.

Too few...  And it's so few that it feels like there are none.  Name a club the top flight leagues that have sticked with their manager no matter what in recent years.  I can't think of any.  And if they're out there, there's prolly like just a couple out of 50 clubs.

And no.  Lol.  Clubs always have a lot of options for 'available managers'.  Why do you think they're quick to give them the sack at a moment's notice once things start going south?  They're considered expendable and easily replaceable.

I'm not saying Poch will def not be a success.  He very may well could be a success.  All I'm saying is it won't be a surprise if he's given the sack after a year or if they still have an empty trophy cabinet.

Is Saint Denis really that good to be a favourite in a fights against Poirier? Or current form of Poirier is that bad ? I am not much familiar with Saint Denis. He has some experience in UFC, but I cant tell that his opponent were tough to consider him as a favourite. Poirier is going to be his biggest challenge so far. His record shows that he isnt much of a striker, but all of his submissions were before UFC; cant evaluate his real skills based on that.

Saint Denis is solid in that he has the heart to outlast the elite fighters in his weight division.  Poirier on the other hand seems like he has gone soft after making big money in his recent fights.  The hunger is gone and who could blame him...  He has done everything what he needed to do as a fighter and has made more than enough money to live his life comfortably with his wife and kid.

Anyway here are a couple of vids to watch before watching the main event this week end.

@JollyGood -: No Chelsea fan is happy with Poch at the moment. He met us at 10th more than 6 months ago and we're still 10th
But is the manager really the problem at this point?  I think by now, the Chelsea brass and the supporters should just go with Poch and accept that tough times are still coming ahead.  I mean nothing changed since I think Sarri?  And the last time the club has seen success was with Conte?  Dunno..  But it has been a long time.
Changing the manager would only help when/if there is a need to replace someone who does not have the confidence of the players, such as with what happened with Potter. They will have to at some point retain the manager by having belief in him and sell the players that the manager does not want. It will send a strong message to the team that the owners trust the manager and also that players will be sold if the manager does not want them.

Pochettino will be a success there but he has only been their manager for a short time therefore the really does need time.

429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: January 08, 2024, 12:30:21 PM
mercedez car development is less massive, it has lost 2 times consecutively both the constructor's world champion and the pembalam world champion. but there is no significant development that makes the car competitive again

When they Change the rules the gap of cars is awlyas massive and it will decrease with years, look at Mercedes vs Redbull before this new generation of cars.

It will probably be the same in 2025, with close cars but again in 2026 a new generation of cars will come and they will start over again.

Would it be better if the FIA allowed the teams to have longer car developments under the same rules?  Not sure how long they are but it seems like there's an average of 4 years?  They prolly need to add a couple of years of that to give the other teams to catch up with the leading team.  Imagine if they ran with the same rules that season after Verstappen won his first world driver's championship.  It would've been another exciting 1v1 with Hamilton.  Wink

Anyway, how long til the first tests in Bahrain?  Grin

^  Nice!  That Poirier vs Saint Denis one is gonna be a banger as a 5 round co main event.  Hopefully Poirier brings it as Saint Denis is one tough mofo who is hungry in moving up the rankings and taking a shot the 155 title. As for Poirier, the McGregor money could could've made him lose his edge.  But we'll see, maybe he's back.  Wink

And can't complain to see Oliveira vs Tsarukyan if Makhachev isn't available.

Early lines at Fight Odds have Saint Denis and Tsarukyan as slight favorites.  I kinda agree with the Saint Denis one.  Up in the air with the Tsarukyan one.

Anyone know the tokenomics of the token?

Not released yet, but supply is going to be 1B DYM.

Considering the fact that trading this coin is already available on Aevo at a price of $5 - https://app.auto.xyz/perpetual/dym then we can assume that approximately this price will be after listing on CEX. Of course, this price may change, since this is a market and the price is formed in accordance with supply and demand, but it is already pleasant that the price of DYM is measured in dollars, not cents.

Yes, I expected it to be dollars cause claimers are given 30-100 token per eligible chain. Less tokens given, more the price.

$Pyth was trading around 30c in OTC market on Kucoin before official listing, and it has been hovering around that price since, so I expect range of $4-$5 to be for DYM.

I'm gonna hold and stake portion of DYM, sell rest of it and buy $TIA to be eligible for airdrops allocated for it.

Looks like you're right about the price...  Aevo decentralized perps and options exchange listed DYM perps and it looks like it has been trading at a range between 3 and 6 bucks.  It's trading at 4 USD right now.  So it's prolly safe to say that 4 is gonna be at the low end of the trend before it starts going up in price..?

I'm looking to buy and add more then stake them together with my airdropped tokens.

Next good project to airdrop in the Cosmos eco might be Sovereign.

I'm wondering another thing which is whether we would see Verstappen driving for another team in the future.  Smiley

I mean that I'm pretty confident about one thing that he would drive for Red Bull until 2026. But as you must have heard the cars are going to get big changes in Formula 1. After this big changes we never know which car will be the fastest one. If Red Bull lose their dominance then Verstappen can look for his options probably. He should act wisely if he is targeting to break the title record before the end of his career. I would like to see him driving a Ferrari to be honest.  Grin  But Ferrari must be much better than this in every way of course.

Why shall not we see it? In the end there isn't such thing like there is a strong bond between Verstappen and Red Bull. It is all about having the fastest car. When his car isn't the fastest one on the grid anymore he would probably start making plans for his future. He signaled that in one of his statements in an interview before.

Like you mentioned maybe it would happen after 2026 season starts. Verstappen is a very competitive driver even if he talks about himself like he doesn't have targets such as breaking a title record. He wouldn't like to drive a slower car than his opponents.  Smiley

Uh...  Just no.  Lol.  And in what interview did he say that he's going to leave Red Bull if they can't give him the fastest car anymore?

It looks like you have no idea about the history behind Verstappen, Helmut Marko, Christian Horner and especially Jos Verstappen's relationship with Red Bull.  He had his son skip F2, went straight to F1 and Red Bull was the team willing to take him in.

And even if Verstappen wanted to leave, how would he do so if his contract lasts until 2028?  :/

The only reason why Verstappen would leave that I can think of is if Christian Horner and Adrian Newey leave the team.  Where those guys go, Verstappen goes.  Dream scenario would be if all three of them go to Ferrari.

Looking at the first event of 2024's roster, it looks like we're gonna see some guys either retire or get their last fight in the UFC...  Benitez, Hawes and Arlovski might be on their way out.  Which means their opponents should win their matches.  Wink

Tough match to call is Ricky Simon vs Mario Bautista.  My gut says it's a Bautista win, but dunno, Simon is pretty good himself.  Another tough one is Matheus Nicolau vs Manel Kape.  The line could be too wide for Kape.

Possible great match up in the prelims is Farid Basharat vs Taylor Lapilus.
434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Arb below 1$ on: January 05, 2024, 01:16:44 PM
^  The problem is the amount of tokens that get unlocked in a couple of months is yuuuge.  Around 87% of the circulating supply.  So I'm pretty sure it's gonna have some negative impact in ARB's price action.

But here's the thing...  What the Arbitrum devs could also do, which could pump ARB by a lot, is to relock those tokens for another year or so.  Grin  It's gonna be a win win for everyone.

People holding ARB now will see their tokens continue to appreciate in value, while the dev team and the VC's will also be able to receive their tokens at presumably higher value...  Albeit at a later date.
435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [A POLL] Without Chances of Making Money, Will you still be gambling? on: January 05, 2024, 12:51:51 PM
Gambling of any form without any chance and expectation to win money would be dumb.  Lmao.  Imagine yourself who keeps gambling and knowing that you won't have any chance of winning.  Where's the 'enrertainment' in that?  It essentially removes the entertainment aspect if you already know the result which is losing.  :/

And who in their right mind would still call it gambling?  It's more like throwing your money away.  Cheesy  People would eventually stop because it's not fun.
436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: January 05, 2024, 12:42:54 PM
Yup they really should with them having a better squad than Fulham and with the match being played at Stamford Bridge.  And they have one of the best managers in the current era of footbal available so there's no excuse.  But on the comment that Chelsea just had back to back wins...  They were vs Crystal Palace and Luton.  :/  Not sure if they get the same result in a derby that most likely be taken very seriously by Fulham being the inferior team as they would most likely feel they need to prove something.

Draw no bet is at 3.70, ML at 5.40.  The line is too wide imho.  I wouldn't really trust Chelsea at 1.60 rn.

We struggle to win two consecutive games this season, and we have consistently squandered opportunities to move up the table. We're playing against our biggest West London rivals in an unstable circumstance. Jackson is away at the AFCON, Nkunku isn't totally match fit, and our defence is too slow to compete with Willian's quickness and how quickly Fulham counters.

Both team to score @ 1.70 is a steal. Manchester city @ 1.62 against struggling Newcastle united is another bonus odd.

@JollyGood -: No Chelsea fan is happy with Poch at the moment. He met us at 10th more than 6 months ago and we're still 10th

I think if you're playing BTTS, it might be better to bump it up and go for the over 2.5 goals combo too at 2.00.

Anyway, missed the dates and thought the matches were gonna be this weekend.  :/  Looks like no EPL and still no UFC this weekend.
437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Zksync ERA is here on: January 04, 2024, 12:46:57 PM
Is zkSync still a thing?  I think they are waiting too long before they do an airdrop of their own.  What would most likely happen is people will get into the airdrop but then dump the tokens because the rotation has already moved on to other more interesting projects and protocols.  Solana is back in play with lots of liquidity and the next rotation is going to the Cosmos stuff in TIA and now DYM.  And there's another one coming, I think it's called Sovereign.  They haven't released a token yet but I'm pretty sure they will.

And it's not just that, there's a lot more coming in the Cosmos ecosystem.  So cancel all the partying and the night benders and focus.
438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Lamina1 airdrop speculation on: January 04, 2024, 12:37:17 PM
Hundreds of Discord servers?  Lol...  Wow, I couldn't even keep up with the 11 I'm in and I'm really active to just the three of them.  But yeah, I think the community could be a good metric if the project and their airdrop could at least be a good one.  I mean look at SUI.  Before their ICO, yup it was an ICO, their Discord was full of people getting into mundane conversations which lead me to think that it was being botted.  The devs prolly picked up on this so they decided to do an ICO instead of an airdrop.

I could imagine the botters' displeasure with the decision.  Lol.  They've been going at it for months thinking it was gonna be another pay day.

Yep, community matters a lot. A community that's filled with 'wen moon', 'wen airdrop sir' kinda members, such projects never last.

Yup, no they won't.  Lol.  A good community has a cult like feeling of like minded people getting together trying to achieve a common goal.  And that's to get an allocation through an airdrop and hope to have those bags pump 100x and sell them at the pico top of the bull market.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  But the last part is the unspoken goal but the real goal.  And I won'r believe it for one bit of not one of the people in the space are thinking the same thing.  :/

But anyway, yeah...  A project that has a cult following behind it tends to outlast the projects that don't.  Bitcoin is the best example of this.
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Airdrops speculations thread on: January 04, 2024, 12:29:24 PM
^  Yup one of my wallets was eligible but I feel like it wasn't that much esp if the price starts trading around single digits.  But here's what you guys should be doing tho, and I'll surely do it too.  Stake your airdropped DYM and buy some off the market if possible and stake them too.  That at least will make you have a higher chance of getting eligibility in other future airdrops.

Since airdrop amount isn't much, it could go double digit too. I ain't gonna sell it all for sure as I did that mistake with $TIA, now it's even 160 tokens peanut airdrop turned out worth 2k USD.

Yea, I am planning to hold portion of airdrop, and that's going to get staked.

At least you got into the TIA airdrop, I missed it as I took it for granted and I was so focused on Layer Zero's airdrop which now looks like it's still a year away from now.  Lol.  I def know I have one wallet eligible and it's the same wallet that's eligible for DYM.  So yeah, I'm forced to buy TIA at inflated prices and stake them to try to be eligbile in future airdrops in that ecosystem.  I heard there's gonna be more roll ups coming in Cosmos than in Ethereum this year.

I think staking as low as 500 USD worth of TIA would pay dividends.  Will be doing the same with DYM.  I will add more to complement my small airdropped bag and stake.
440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: January 04, 2024, 12:14:50 PM

West London Derby with Chelsea vs Fulham...  That game will be played with much tenacity and I wouldn't be surprised if they win the match seeing that momentum is at their side.

Man United vs Tottenham, I think a lot of people would side with Tottenham here as United have been terrible this season.  But I'd say just stay away as United in the Theatre of Dreams could disappoint they away side.

Chelsea should win the game. Fulham have played well as they beat Arsenal 2-1 on new years eve but Chelsea have won back to back Premier League games and there is a strong case for Chelsea to take all three points. As for the other game you mentioned, Tottenham will probably win the game. Even after Manchester United beat Aston Villa from 0-2 down to win 3-2, I am expecting them to return to their real form.
