If they only released a Gemz Paykey I bet the price of Gemz would be 10x what it is now. I doubt they will crack the online payment business, too many already doing it. Seems like a lose lose for everyone.

I can send my friends money in many ways with my phone already, everyone's doing it on my campus, seems like the only unique thing about this is the crypto. But you cant send money on fb, whatsapp, reddit, twitter, snapchat, instagram and others with one account. social media has the most users, if it catches on your campus will be using this if they use multiple social media platforms. Such thing afaik doesnt exist yet, why do u think there is interest for this innovation. The crypto and fiat world has never seen such technology. Sure you can... on fb - supported internally whatsapp - ping pay (might be india only, not sure) reddit - changetip twitter - changetip snapchat - supported internally (snapcash) instagram - noidea and others with one account (one bank account or cc account? What do you mean) Changetip now supports US$ and 12 social sites. They also support private email, sms, skype. I'd say change tip has quite the lead in this space. The team build very little, actually, for their BTC investors. They took Telegram messaging app, their infrastructure and add to that confusing, mediocre BTC wallet. You can't use Counterparty functionality inside app witch is really disappointing for everybody who appreciate blockchain technology. Transparency is nonexistence. You don't get private key for your Gemz. Everything looks like typical BTC scam. But at the end they still delivered Social Messaging App That Pays  . The GEMS wallet used to be on chain and you did have access to your seed. However, everyone complained that i was too slow so they moved the GEMS off chain. If you want your GEMs on the block chain, move them there. I only carry a bit of money in my wallet, the bulk of it is in the bank. Same concept. Oh, and you do have access to your BTC seed and can import it into some other wallet if you need to. |

How can NXT's bungled and shitty initial distribution to a few insiders compete with ETH's carefully planned and transparently executed crowdsale to a widespread ecosystem? I'm not sure I understand why a platform that is designed to record cryptographically signed event sourced transactions and share that database of transactions with a network of computers needs to be turing complete? After all the NXT platform runs on top of turing complete systems, why duplicate that inherently? What does that buy you for the stated use cases? |

BTC pairing is affecting almost all alts atmo. In previous bitcoin rallies in the past, most Alts would gain alongside it. This time however, people dumped Alts for bitcoin and when bitcoin dived, they converted to fiat mainly which led to a further loss for Alts. So a gemz/fiat option would be ideal in the long run.
The thing is, it's not up to anyone to decide what people trade Gemz against. The market will do what the market will do. Sure, if there is a Gems market in in GetGems app that is strictly Fiat/GEMS that's fine. But, that won't keep exchanges from pairing it with BTC. What you usually see is the pairing with the most liquidity/activity usually sets the price. So, if you want Fiat/GEMS parings you should get with your favorite exchange, request the pairing and only trade that pair. But, good luck with that. I do agree that btc pairing is ruining other projects upside price movement, btc goes up alts go down, btc goes down alts go down. I hope the majority of trades happen through gemz/fiat outside of an exchange. Hopefully GG with the connections they have in the financial industry they introduce a way for users to buy Gems with fiat without going to an exchange, preferably from the app. I agree, buying/selling directly from the app against fiat would be a great feature... after all, it's a wallet. That might violate the in app purchase rules in iOS though... I'm not sure. SB fine in Android app. |

Just look at btc-e or poloniex trollbox where people try to screw eachother over 24/7 to do a good word about the coin they're are hodling or even in this forum, this all to gain new users and get people buying their product, it's so ridiculous, imagine if GetGems didn't have this issue and majority of buying power came from regular users outside. That would really be amazing.
If people buy something based on what someone says in an exchange troll box, they get what they deserve. |

How can i erase Breadwallet + all its data ? i have a test version on my iPhone 6, never save the passphrase (seeds) i know right  i want to erase it and start with a new fresh wallet (but the old password always comes up)  tx On the settings menu, delete the seed and start fresh. - start/recover another wallet ? i can not, do not have the old seeds or password ?? No need to restore your phone just for this  You get the old wallet back because that's the information synced with iTunes. When you restored, did you set it up as new phone or did you restore from an iTunes/iCloud backup? I can not ! there it is asking me for "Recovery Phrase to wipe it and start/recover another." and i do not have that Edit: sorry this is such a pain ... , i just wanted to install a test wallet,(did not save anything) and planned to install a proper wallet after but now i can not get rid of that test  You can enter a bad pin. Keep doing it. The delay will keep increasing. It will take about 24 hours to get to the point... but once you put it in wrong like 5 or 6 times, the seed/wallet is wipped and you can start fresh. I had to do this myself once because I also didn't write down my first seed cause I was just planning to "play" with it. |

There is a Mycellium wallet in the App Store. Give it a try. Although, I heard some bad things about it (bugs) when it first came out so I stuck with Blockchain.info and Breadwallet on iOS. |

Well this price sucks.
When it went to the exchange, I waited for a while to see which price it would be before I decided to send fct to the exchange or not. But then after waiting for like 20 minutes, no one sent fct there. So I decided to send fct to the exchange. I was the literally the first person to make fct sell orders on the exchange. I sold about 1 btc worth at 0.004 and 0.6 btc worth at 0.008.
Then a bunch of other people came rushing in to sell and they drove the price down to crap.
I feel disappointed.
Just gonna forget about this coin. I don't want to waste time following it anymore.
If you bought at ICO you made some great money on this. I'm not sure why you are disappointed if that's the case. If the project is worth its salt the price will eventually catch up with the value. |

Looking at harvsmith's post history this is obviously a troll account.
FACTOMs troll following is pretty impressive. It's partly what keeps me interested in it.  The bitcointalk troll squad only trolls projects that threaten them to some extent. There are a ton of real scammy projects but people don't even bother to troll. Factom is a legitimate project with legitimate goals and a team based in the US. AND dcxtx runs a legitimate service also based in the US. I'm actually a fan and investor in Factom. My issue is with dcxtx's "service." I think it's disingenuous to charge 10x the ico price for FCT when it is not even listed. But this is crypto, right? Everyone is trying to pull a fast one, so it's OK. Also, being based in the US does not make something legitimate. Hey Harvsmith, I am not sure how our price is disingenuous. That is the price that we are willing to accept . Was it also disingenuous for us to buy at higher than the ico price? What is your definition of listed? One exchange? Three so it is not a monopoly? We have a "service" where, after setting up an account, you send us bitcoin and ,at the price we have posted, we automatically send you back factoid. I am sorry if that has offended your sensibilities. dcxtx, Don't mind these guys, they obviously don't understand how a free market worksSee my point. Charging 10x for FCT was a huge ripoff. Back to ICO prices. What we're you expecting to happen? $1, 2$, $50 after market listing? No we were EXPECTING just this to happen. Yes but the coins that are used get burned so I would think that nullifies the high inflation rate. My understanding is that the Energy Credits are burned. However, the Facotoms used to buy them are released to the Factom Nodes sort of like a block reward. |
