I don't see it posted here, but this The Crypto Show did a great interview of Ryan yesterday.  Give it a listen, especially if you want to get to know Dash Smiley https://soundcloud.com/heryptohow/ryan-taylor-of-dashorg-and-cody-wilson-and-joel-williamson-of-defense-distributed

Just heard the show on the LetsTalkBitcoin podcast. Great show and lots of info about Dash in general and Evolution in particular!
442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MonetaryUnit [MUE] Quark based, CPU mining, faucet, explorer, pool, wallet on: November 29, 2016, 03:51:16 PM
Congratulation for the Goldfinger bank!!!!!!

MUE Lending is the new mining!!!!! Grin Grin Grin

I guess this Will skyrocket MUE value in few days.......................  Grin  10ksat/MUE here we come  Shocked
lol I doubt it.

BUT.....

We are taking a multi-pronged approach to growing MUE.
Unlike so many other crypto projects that rely on a single app or selling point, the MUE team are launching multiple killer apps and services.
Like the head of the Hydra, if you kill one of our apps, two more will grow in its place Cheesy

10k sats per MUE?  OK, challenge accepted.

In crypto everything happens for a reason and like you said MUE is like Hydra so if we have more apps we can have more users = higher usage and value
Maybe it's time to start some campaign!?

We will definitely do some marketing campaigns soon.
Our first goals are the initial launch of www.MUEX.io
then migrating MUE to X11 with Masternodes

We are very close to both these things.

Exciting times await, I'd say better to wait with the promotions until after the X11 testing proves OK. Then we could bring out the adds and campaigns to spread the word of a new MUE age  Cheesy

It has been brought to our attention (mostly through our slack channels) that some people

1) Have been dissatisfied with the information we have initially supplied
2) Have been dissatisfied with the answers we have given in response to questions asked
3) The our whitepaper is basically a fancy version of corporate bullshit-bingo

We have put a great deal of work into the information we provided and thought it was clear and self-explanatory, but this is obviously not the case. My best guess is that this is due to what I call 'information blindness' which basically means that as the author of a piece of work you assume that things are clear when in realty they are not because you are immersed in the context in which it was written. On top of this, after you read your own work a few times, you become 'blind' to it's flaws and weaknesses and are unable to identify such weaknesses.

As for #3 (the corporate bullshit bingo), I may be to blame for that; I guess that working in a corporate environment for 25 years has left it's impact on my manner of communication.

Be that as it may, we have always said that we will honor and value any feedback we will get, especially if it helps us improve our message. As such, we will address all the points which have been flagged as unclear, missing, etc. and come back with a detailed reply which we hope will clarify our plans and intentions. However, due to Thanksgiving being around the corner, we ask for your patience & understanding for the fact that we have family matters to attend to (that is, if we don't want our wives to strangle us in our sleep) and will return with new/updated info next week.

We have also been told that people would appreciate concise (ie: short) answers and we will try to heed this advice, but it is my belief that when discussing things such as business strategy giving a 1 sentence reply would not capture much of the information we wish to convey. We'll try to be to the point though.

In the meantime, if you have additional questions you would like answered, please post them here and we'll take them into account.

More info to come next week, thank you for your patience and understanding.

I've been far too busy to reply, but I wanted to say that I think that this post is probably the best in this entire thread. I can start off by saying that I have invested a small amount in the crowdfunding, but I am sure that others have chosen to stay away, not only by the competition, but the uncertainty of the NXT and Ardor platforms, the complexity of the project and the lack of clarity - eg lots of buzzwords in the white paper without clear goals and deliverables. I have noticed a lot of cheerleading and to the moon(TM) as any other ICO thread, but that comes off almost silly rather than building confidence in the team or the project.

I am happy for the Janus teams honesty and willing to answer questions and clear out uncertainties. The post above strengthens my image of the team trying to do the right things despite the lack of 1000's of BTC funded as we have seen in other ICOs.

I did not intend of making this post sound negative, but I would rather state that I appreciate the team's efforts and openness in the ongoing campaign. Whether the ICO brings in millions or thousands, I'm sure we all can look forward to exciting technologies, especially the Social Fintech platform looks intriguing. Good Luck in the continuity of the ICO, I'm looking forward to what the Janus team can achieve!
444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Pascal Coin: P2P cryptocurrency without need of historical operations on: November 25, 2016, 01:57:33 PM
Great, thanks Pascal Dev. Just updated and looks good so far!

Any hopes of getting a Mac OSX wallet?

I have no Mac to test... but I supose that will be easy following compile instructions (at Github wiki) because Lazarus is a multiplatform compiler (linux + Windows + Mac)

Can anybody try it?

OK maybe I can try at some point if I ever find the time.. I had a look here: https://github.com/PascalCoin/PascalCoin/wiki/Compile-instructions but there were no OSX speciffic steps as how to compile on a mac. I guess the closest option is Linux but all the libraries are probably different. Maybe the best option is to just load up a virtual machine and get a Windows or Linux wallet going in virtualbox or similar.

446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: November 23, 2016, 07:03:14 AM

4202 Now, Hash rate has been going up like crazy as well!

How many Bitcoin full nodes? Is Dash still 2nd only after Bitcoin?

And how many nodes for the 3rd one?

Currently there seems to be 5402 Bitcoin full nodes, https://bitnodes.21.co/
Ethereum: 6550 nodes, https://www.ethernodes.org/
According to bitinfocharts.com:
Dash: 4596 https://bitinfocharts.com/darkcoin/nodes-active/
Bitcoin: 5171 https://bitinfocharts.com/bitcoin/nodes-active/

That's interesting, why does it have so many active nodes? I mean, BTC is the most popular and the only crypto with real world use, Dash nodes are incentivised, but Ethereum?

Anyways, that MN count is a perfect thing for promotion. It rises naturally, following the coin emission regardless of the price. So even if it slows down for a couple of months and falls behind the emission making more coins available for speculation, we can still say: "Wow, new ATH!"

I haven't kept an eye on Ethereum for a while - sold everything I had after the DAO and ETH/ETC fiasco, but back at that time a user had to have a full node just to run a wallet. Perhaps there are light clients today but that could at least partly explain why the full node count is rather high for ETH.

Hello Janus Team, I wanted to ask what specific goals are you looking for Project Janus in the short- mid term? Reading the business plan about "distinctly branded projects", what kind of projects are you looking at? Can you give any specifics or clarifications?

Yes. The two projects which will have priority are the Social Fintech site and the Realty play. Let me expand on this a bit:

Social Fintech: We believe that in this space we have an idea which is genuinely new and hasn't been done yet. So by implementing this would have a first-mover advantage which gives this high potential for success. In terms of code, version 1 of this site is not terribly complex and can be implemented relatively rapidly. If the site catches on (we think and hope it will, but you never know this in advance) we have exciting plans for extending it's functional coverage into areas which will again bring something new to this space. I will not reveal further details about this idea because from past experience we have learned that good ideas, when revealed will be copied. Suffice it to say that we are not aware of any site implementing what we are planning to do and that if successful, it will provide a springboard for further expansion into this space.

Realty: We (specifically myself) own the copyright to a working codebase for implementing realty sites which in the past has been used on live sites. There is a site right now running on this codebase from a former customer of mine who is doing quite well, so fundamentally this proves that the code works and is solid. The only issue here is that this code was written a few years and and will have to be refactored to our new standard platform. This however is not a huge issue, since refactoring code is much easier than writing new code; in addition to this, refactoring code allows you to retain the business logic which has evolved in such a system over time, which means that once the refactoring is done, you end up with a working system which benefits from all previous development. For our realty play(s), we plan a 2-pronged approach: sell software and services to realtors and also use the site to launch a/many portal(s) servicing areas which currently are not very competitive but have the potential to deliver substantial profits.

I hope this answers your question. If you want further clarification, don't be shy  Wink

Ok thanks for the clarification Dev. I see that you have some solid ideas and concepts to work with. Keep your good ideas private until they are ready for release, as you said - someone else will go ahead and release before you do.

I'll continue to read the white paper and other documentation and will ask when I need to Wink

1000+ BTC within 18 hours!! hope more investment will come.I saw some project got much money during the bonus period, and the rest of the ICO time passed with discussion.

We planning to start soon posting additional articles including featuring the companies to be launched with Wings, in order to attract additional participants to the campaign.
Let me know about the result of this ico, I may think for invest in this ico too. The sound is great. If just for 18hours and 1000btc was getting reach by this ico. I must have thought about investing some in this ico. Good job and keep support for this project.
i am waiting for your answer wings.

Don't buy in because of FOMO, of course I trust that you will read the white paper and decide to invest based on the technical aspects of Wings rather than a kneejerk reaction Wink

there are already 39 conf, but it still not show on the ICO page, what's wrong ?
Hello, I did sending some BTC , there were some confirmations in blockchain but my balance remains zero wings, any problem happening?

There are some problems with updating the ICO site, just sit back and relax, your donations are OK if you can see them on the blockchain. Have a great weekend!

I have a BTC transaction that is stuck at 1confirmation on the crowdfund site, but block explorer says it's now at 48 confirmations... Just wait for it?

If the blockchain has 48 confirmations you are good to go. Eventually the fly.wings site will get updated and you'll see your balance.

Yay, finally found a block! I'm not sure, but maybe it was my fault all along for not adding my miner name in the wallet settings?
I only renamed one of my wallets but neglected to check the settings in the QT-wallet and adjust the settings there as well.

Happy weekend all and good luck mining blocks!
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Pascal Coin: P2P cryptocurrency without need of historical operations on: November 18, 2016, 12:04:16 PM
Man, I must have a stroke of bad luck... been mining for days now and still no blocks found.

Just to be clear, running the proxy, pointing it to 127.0.0.1 and port 4009, using a wallet name that is 8 chars and then launching the miner..
Is there something that I have overlooked? I'm running the wallet 1.2.0 and it's all synced up and working fine from what I can tell.

Should the proxy instead be pointed to the machine IP eg 192.168.1.2 or something instead? It appears as the proxy is running well and reporting nonces found so I'm kind of surprised that I have yet to find at least a few blocks.

I'll be giving it some more time but if this continues I'll have to rethink the home mining and wait for trading  Undecided

Make sure that the miner is in "sync" with the current block/target.
Sometimes the proxy does not write the latest data in headeroutXX.txt, happened to me a few times now.

PS: don't forget that the data is represented in little endian.

Thanks for the suggestion anorganix, I see the target was the correct value. I'll keep on waiting and see what happens, cheers!

Hello!
I accept dash in my grocery store.
https://coinmap.org/#/map/53.44350325/14.54917878/18
Anyone who will choose this payment will receive a 10% discount on the entire stock!

How great 2tejszy!, wished I knew about that when I pasted through Szczecin earlier. I'll have to try to visit next time I come to Poland Smiley

How often do customers pay with either Bitcoin or Dash? Is Bitcoin used more than Dash for those who actually know about crypto? The lack of a trustworthy DASH wallet on iOS might pull down the Dash numbers?
