From my understanding the 50 post are to be anywhere on the forum and not specifically limited to this thread. The goal is to inform people on other threads of the existance of Waves.
It's pointless to write a non-relevant post here in the Waves official thread, in order to get stakes with the WAVES signature because if you are on this thread then obviously you know about Waves and it kill the marketing objective.
I see the 50 posts as an icentive for people to post in other threads and give visibility to the Waves project in order to attract more potential investors.
If there is to be pointless "for the stakes" posts on this thread, I'd suggest to get this thread moderated to get rid of those posts.
You are right that posting in other threads and participating in other subjects is a better way to promote Waves. That's the general idea, but people shouldn't go around spamming any threads or trolling just to add to their post count. If you see pointless, irrelevant, off topic posts and the like, feel free to use the "report to moderator" button and help clean up the thread! |

what are the voting thresholds of the DAO?
if a couple of whales take large blocks of 'shares' that guarantee that their preferences are passed due to their voting power over the other stakeholders where's the true democracy? they could direct the DAO to fund their own company and syphon off the ICO funds. if the identities of DAO 'shareholders' are unknown then fraud is a possibility.

So yes, one or more large holders could potentially sweep in and affect the outcome of a proposal. As for whales setting up their own proposals seeking investors, sure they can. But it's then up to the rest of the investors to go through the proposals and vote for or against said proposal. I guess will we have to see how this all plays out once the DAO has launched. As a comparison, looking to how the budget proposal voting works in DASH, each proposal has to be voted up before any funding can be paid out. There is a threshold that goes up so the proposal has to have a % more YES than NO, not just a general 20% yes based on the value of the proposal. Say for instance a proposal has 20% yes and 15% no, it will most likely not get passed in the DASH system. |

I think 1 BTC gives about 12500 waves right now, but as more people invest, the amount of waves per BTC will decrease. Each individual waves token will go up in value though, so you are not losing any value, it's just the amount of tokens that decrease. 1BTC = 13103.95519462 Waves right now. I'm not sure about the 20% bonus (or 10%) when it will be add to te balance. It should be added right away when the BTC transfer is verified x2. Thanks for a better number than my guestimation  |

It is swap to Waves for Sasha`s assets on the NXT blockchain. not sure how this swap thing works but if i have about 500 waves, i also get to have 500 nxt? I have not followed any swapping so maybe I don't know what I'm about to say, but mxxxxxx wrote that you may swap TO waves FROM some NXT asset. Do you have these NXT assets and would like to trade them for Waves? |

OK. Noob to ICOs here. I already love my WAVES and have grown attached to them. Lol What I would like to do, is hang onto them after the ICO launches. I assume we would be able to start trading them on a REPUTABLE exchange when the time comes. Sooooo, my question is this: will WAVES appreciate in value as I hang on to them? Or is it all a gamble on whether the price will go down or up? I know nobody can predict the future, but what happened with previous ICOs with the same magnitude and popularity as WAVES? I will settle for educated guesses I guess that you already know the answers to your questions mate  Everyone is hoping for a price appreciation, but who knows? it is likely that many will at least sell a portion of their holdings at launch and continue to hold a bit for the future. Once the Waves team launches the Waves platform, they have the possibility to access funds and start working on building and developing for DAOs for Waves or bring new features to the platform etc. Things are looking good and everyone has high hopes for what Waves will bring the coming months. Of course it's all a gamble, and the project could crash tomorrow and everything comes burning down. With that said, many have invested predicting a nice ROI and so far it's looking promising. |

I think that 28 days is the period to subscribe to DAO tokens Also in the early day, you get more tokens with the same amount of Ethereum than in the later days. So it is better to invest early. second push today for ETH: DAOhub subscription, or new investors (caseyreseatch et al.), or both ? I think that the DAOhub ICO has generated a lot of positive for ETH, as that seams to be the recommended way to participate in the ICO. BTC/USD->ETH->DAO ICO. From the looks of it, many investors seem eager to get into DAOhub being that the slock.it team are involved. |

You will be able to host full node or lease your balance to full nodes by using lite client only for example and you will still receive the reward, so any balance above 0 is good. So we can compare full nodes to pools of rewards which will be distributed between full nodes and people who are leasing to them. There will be competition between nodes also. what kind of competition? There is no limit, just having bigger balance means bigger rewards, when you are leasing to full node or hosting full node. thanks, are you just keeping all your dash in cold storage or investing it somewhere?
I keep my Dash in cold storage as collateral for masternodes. Normal DASH clients tucked away in virtual machines that I can take out if there is a problem. Otherwise I have a few DASH change on a hot wallet. I haven't looked into lending out any DASH, I personally like keeping my funds secure rather than on an exchange somewhere. |

The price of anything will go up and down. That's why it's best to sell some and take profits when it's high and then buy back when it falls. I have no doubt that Ether will eventually rise again but right now there is a domino effect that means that people start panic selling when the price falls. Whilst I have great confidence in Waves it would be a mistake to assume that it will be a pure upward trend in value. you think there will be a huge dump at launch like other coins? holding waves would be the better option as waves has massive potential If the initial trading prices are higher that whatever the purchase prices from the ICO, it's probably plausible that people will start cashing out, driving the price down. But if Waves delivers a strong platform then the value for every token is likely to go up. |

This surge must be attributable to the rewards halving soon to be upon us. What will the next 2 days bring? I'm thinking that the BTC halving has nothing to do with the increase. More news is coming out from the team, end of the month so people have been paid, the April 10% bonus is about to end. Several factors weighing in that can help the influx of funds to the Waves ICO. If many believed that the price of BTC would increase after the halving, I would instead think that others would choose not to invest in the ICO but rather hold their BTC and hope for a increased dollar value, and maybe look to buy Wave tokens after the project launch. |

we seem to be largely in agreement that this is not a fair proposition being put to the investor community by the issuer, who wants our money but is offering very little in return.

I'm also out here, but Mycelium will be flooded with Bitcoin anyway. Every ICO is getting overbought right now, I guess they will rise 1000 of Bitcoins for the 5 percent. That's crazy. That's maybe what they are betting on. If lots people are willing to throw a small amount of funds their way, all the better to them. By creating an "artificial" value of their company they could go seeking future investments elsewhere backed by this crowdsale. |

I believe so. The masternode incentives and blockchain funding are proving to be great tools in storing away funds at the same time strengthening the network. With the ongoing development of "Evolution" I'm sure DASH can be adopted by a wider population too, which of course if great for growing the userbase and getting more interest and attention. These factors will help the long term value, especially since the Cryptsy DASH dumping hopefully has ended by now. |

Im actually quite impressed that dash has made it this far. Even with all the dramas ive heard it still seems to be holding a good value. Im still not sure if it would be worth investing in though,still seems like it might be quite a big gamble. Especially since prices are quite high. It would mean quite a large investment to make any money back,
If you have doubts, simply don't invest. And in contrast to sanctimonious smooth who tries reverse psychology on unsuspecting potential Monero victims when he says something like that, I actually mean this. Dude, there is no reverse psychology. By far, most of my net worth is non-crypto and by far most of my crypto net worth (which even includes a bit of Dash) is Bitcoin. I'm not a true believer in any of these coins by any means, especially any alts, so when I tell people this coin or that coin is not a good (or at best a dangerous) investment, I really mean it, and I practice what I preach. Anyway, congrats to Dash. Getting recognized by a major exchange is a significant event. This was my first thought as well. Of course everyone supporting Monero would be celebrating if their token was added to BTC-E. Trying to downplay BTC-E as a subpar non-important exchange kind of shows of disappointment. Anyway congratulations to the whole DASH team and all supporters. Now lets look for a boost in volume and price appreciation! |
