921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LISK launching tomorrow on: May 23, 2016, 02:20:29 PM
It will be interesting to witness the launch. Maybe the price skyrockets, or others may scoop up cheap tokens. Either way, it will be fun to take part Smiley

Hi guys how much the signature campaign will get?  the stake is every week? could i sign to for the campaign?

If the total share is 1000 before the ico ends, each share will have 300 waves. I'm afraid that you can't be accepted since your account is still a newbie, "FOR NOW  Cheesy". You'll will be a jr member before the ico ends right? I think you can join. Ico ends 9 days from now and you will need to post atleast 50 . Good luck!

#EDIT

Oh sorry, i forgot only member to Legendary , are accepted to the signature campaign.

What is the expected payout in btc for the waves signature campaign? Also, how it compares to a Lisk signature campaign. Thanks.

Here's info on the Waves campaign: https://blog.wavesplatform.com/signature-campaign-details-e66628f761bf#.q81a8b9v9
You needs to sign up and be approved, then make 50 good posts before the end of the ICO. How much BTC for doing this? Impossible to say, but the bounty will be divided among those who have participated, paid out in Waves tokens.

Compared to the Lisk campaign, one must actually make 50 posts while lisk had no requirements?
923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $1,000 invested in Eth today *could* be $10,000+ or $100,000+ within 1-2 years on: May 23, 2016, 11:38:09 AM
The question is do I sell all my DAO for ETH within the first 2 weeks ?

Hedging is generally a smart thing to do. Can't you keep some of both?
924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 23, 2016, 09:22:16 AM

That's great! Any hopes of having a iOS version soon?
925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can i cancel a deposit from blockchain in case of posibly fraud? on: May 23, 2016, 08:38:16 AM
You can cancel the deposit if the proccessing is not starting yet but if  its already processed you cant cancel it anymore..
Unlike paypal that you have a power to reverse the payment..

This is one of the reasons why merchants love Bitcoin. The charge back problems on credit cards are a big problem and people exploited this to it's full extent. The Bitcoin tx's are irreversible after the 1st confirmation was received on the Blockchain. It might be, that some Bitcoin service providers or payment processors, might introduce some feature to accommodate this <off-chain> Xapo?

yea but you cant do anything against fraud.

specially in here.

is really difficult make real money when even in sites for borrowers the fraudulent people can just run with your money

without a current international law about bitcoin is difficult being protected in all this cases.

Greetings.

With great powers come great responsibility. "Being your own bank" means that you have the power to send your funds wherever and with a low cost, but the drawback is that you are responsible for your transactions. If I send funds to a scammer, well that is my fault for being ignorant, and yes I have learnt that the hard way.

Even if say the UN had a law banning scams on the blockchain, it's not like anyone could enforce that so called law.

Nice Jian, very well thought out post that shows a lot of what Lisk can do. Deserves a big bump...
Its about sharing

"shows alot of what Lisk can do"?  really? Did you got it wrong or are you serious about it?
This is waves token thread not lisk.

A common typo,
the keys are like right next to each other.

Update signature Full Member  Grin

Have you contacted @ahmedashraf on the wavesplatform slack channel? That appears to be the fastest way of bumping your stats on the signature page.
928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: May 23, 2016, 06:44:45 AM
Is it already known how big the first day bonus is per btc invested?

Would like to know more precisely how many lisk I will receive if possible.

Isn't that available when you log in to the ICO page? You see your bonus as well as total amount of LISK?

as far as i know: first day bonus is not visible on ico-page. the first-day-bonus-coins will be transferred after launch.

Oh I see, I bought in later. Thanks for the clarification!

Can you guys ban him from a bounty?  do the right thing.

Hey Cannabanana may I suggest that you simply report offending or trolling posts, that way the user loses on their post count and thus the incentive to troll another thread goes down.

On a side note, I'm an excited investor waiting for the launch of Lisk.

.......
We will surprise you more with next parts of roadmap.
......

Now that's saying something given what we have heard so far in terms of features for the Waves platform 😎
932  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 21, 2016, 02:09:40 PM
I think that, in every other page in this thread, someone is confused about the number of Waves tokens that they receive and what they are valued. Secondly, they become all frustrated and angry when they login and check their token balance a few days later and realize that the amount is less than before.

Maybe it helps to explain the matter like this: If I have invested 0.1 BTC, I will get 0.1 BTC worth of Waves, bonuses not included in this example. The number of received tokens will decrease as more investors buy in due to the limited supply of Waves, though the value per token goes up. All in all, the valued amount of Waves I receive is worth whatever amount of BTC I bought in to the ICO (bonuses not counted in the example). Hope that this might help some people who are puzzled about the decreasing amount of tokens in their accounts.
933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 21, 2016, 10:14:01 AM
I've been curious about WAVES since the start of this thread, but haven't spent the time to research beyond what information is in the OP.  Still a bit hesitant to get in during the ICO, so I ask you all this:

What is WAVES bringing to the table that merits an investment?

Recently I've been under the impression that the majority of ICOs attempt to lure in buyers using fancy wording, massive walls of text and nonsensical  technical jargon.  So many coins claim to offer 'useful new features' or 'the next standard' when in reality they're nothing more than an average clone with a shiny new GUI; all its investors merely in it to make a quick buck before moving on to the next.

Serious answers please - I'm curious what WAVES has to offer. What I'm most interested in is if anything new is being brought to the table.

Sell this to me, guys - I'd love to be a part of the next big thing Wink

Thanks in advance!

@Arrakeen,

Unlike many other crypto-initiatives, the Waves platform has unique real use cases that prove to be superior to the substitute centralized services at the moment. There might be a lot use cases for it, but let me tell you the most prevalent and featured ones.

First of all, we need to understand the underlying technology. It's asset-to-asset trading. That simple, actually. But the opportunities this feature will bring about is countless and enormous. It means that you will be able to create your own asset (like you can do with Counterparty or Nxt), and trade it against other assets created by others.

Now let's take a look at the real use cases.

1) Fiat integration: If a financial company creates its own asset and says that "I will sell this token for 1 USD and also buy it back at the same price," and comes up with a legal document showing its liability for the convertibility of the asset into real USD, then that asset is the USD-token. Its value is 1 USD, backed by real USD held in the bank account of that financial institution.

Now it means that you can trade any crypto-asset created in the platform against that USD-token. What are those assets in the platform? BTC, for instance, or ETH. So it means there is no need to worry about the reliability and security of the centralized exchanges. Bitfinex, Poloniex, Coinbase etc... In those hackable systems, you store your cryptos in hot wallets, and pay tons of transaction fees. But when you trade in the decentralized exchange of the Waves platform, you will hold your cryptos as well as your fiat in your Waves wallet, and the trading fees are just the network fees of the platform, that is, a few cents.

2) Crowdfunding projects: Think of it like a decentralized Kickstarter. You may issue your own token and sell it against USD in the platform. The positive consequences of such an application is apparent. You don't pay fees to a middleman. Your shares in the crowdfunding project is tradable. So it's like the company gets listed in a stock exchange right in the crowdfunding phase. And you don't have to take into account the price volatility of bitcoin, since you get the money already as USD.

3) International money transfers: That's a straight conclusion of the fiat integration. There will be many gateways in many countries, each issuing their local currency. Now if Alice wants to send 100 USD to Bob, and Bob wants EUR instead of USD, it's easily achievable by buying USD-tokens, converting them in the decentralized exchange to EUR-tokens and then send them to Bob, who will then use the EUR-gateway to get the tokens converted and sent to his bank account.

Now this is what disrupts the traditional centralized model most. A platform to be the infrastructure of a wide range of companies which are competitors of Kickstarter, PayPal, and Bitfinex. I hope the long-term potential is obvious here. So why invest in Waves? Because each transaction in the platform will require a transaction fee, which is payable in Wave tokens. So the adoption of the platform means the demand for the Wave tokens, which should increase its value.

Note that the Waves platform doesn't only serve to the cryptocurrency community, but because of the fiat integration, it aims to be the decentralized network for the non-crypto folks as well.

I hope that counts as an explanation, and I hope you join us!

Best,

Jian

A great and informative post Jian, thanks for taking the time to write this!

Can somebody update me? I just want to remember/know, is there an official launch day? (I know the ICO will be open for 11 days more)

Is any bonus still available?

Thanks, sorry for my english

I think launch day is the 1st of June. There is no more bonus now I think. Goodluck! Your english is fine man!

From what I recall, the sales of Waves tokens will end the 1st of June, while the waves platform will launch some time this summer. So far the plan is to have wallets available when the ICO ends and that exchanges will be able to start trading once the tokens are paid out to everyone.
935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 20, 2016, 04:20:46 PM
i have filled out the form to join waves signature campaign, then posted 50 posts already as required, but still in 'to be reviewed' status.

the question is: can i change my signature now?

Not if you would like to stay in the campaign. The campaign isn't over until the ICO is finished, not whenever you have made 50 posts.
Check with Ahmed Ashraf on slack. I believe it is he who updates the signature campaign list.

#RT @leoncfu & @HeyTaiZen will be doing a google hangout AMA w/@sasha35625 the creator of Wavesplatform on Sun, May 22, @ 10am EST!

Now this is interesting! Maybe we can get some hints about what is coming with Waves. New partnerships? How are the fiat gateways progressing? Local wallets? Confirmed exchanges? Technical white paper status?

I'm sure there are a bunch of good questions that could be asked. Hope to hear a few great answers!

939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 20, 2016, 10:01:24 AM
Waves price will likely spike to $1 on launch day.  Cool
$1.5 is the peek.

You guys don't know the power of waves... 5$ on launch, no less  <----  guarunteed for sure, no doubt the fat lady will surf the waves

Not to start raining on your parade, but with the current price per Waves token around 0.05 USD, why would the price magically rise 20-30X just because the ICO ended? Those who would like to buy Waves aren't' going to sit still and wait for the crowdfunding period to end before investing.

Sure, give it time and when the platform matures and the integration with mycelium works nicely, then the price per token is likely to go up. But there isn't going to be free interweb monies for everyone just because the ICO ends.
Yeah I'm thinking $0.50 easy at launch then a high at around $1.

the mycelium integration is good for mycelium. They are having the work to make the api. How i understood the things, everyone can connect to their new wallet. You should be better off taking part in their successfull ICO. They are having the customers and waves is using their services. Or did I understand it wrong?

From what I recall Mycelium were offering 5% of their company in the crowdfunding campaign, although I never followed up on that. You might be correct regarding the mycelium API, I actually do not know how the integration between the two projects will work. My understanding was Waves provides FIAT transfers for Mycelium while Waves gets a nice working mobile wallet to use on Android. Either way, the partnership helps both projects.
940  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 20, 2016, 07:15:43 AM
I am curious to know why many here are assuming WAVES will hit a dollar at launch. Does that mean that over 100k BTC trading volume must take place for that to happen at launch? Do you think there will be enough WHALES to absorb WAVES at a dollar a go so soon?  Smiley

Many hopeful ideas from people whose bodies are ready to buy huge ships Smiley
Everyone wants profits. The flip side to that coin is if people want to sell/dump when say Waves reaches 0.10 USD, that's still a 100% profit compared to the current prices. In order to cash out at that point you need to have buyers believing that the price will go up to 1 USD, 2 USD, xx USD. These people believing that the price will increase will be there holding the bag. That being said, they too can make a good profit once the platform matures and more business is done with Waves. So what looked like a short term loss can turn into a long term appreciation.
