Hey bitbollox, it will take time to dl the blockchain. Give it some more time and see if it starts working as intended. Otherwise close the client and start it again in case it has got stuck. I do recall that on my old mac it took a really long time to sync up as well, but once the blockchain was downloaded it worked nicely.

Until I receive a formal apology from sasha in this thread for calling me delusional and then telling people to Google my history to see how I'm a "bad actor", there is no possibility of collaboration.
My company and its partners will not work with projects or people who personally attack our personnel or management.
Charles I did this because I couldn't really understand your behavior and what you actually wanted. It was in the heat of the moment and I apologize for this. I have to mention that I know Alex from NXT community since at least a couple years, we've met at a conference, I've been following Scorex and his articles closely at least since October or November last year. It was a very obvious choice for me to build on scorex, since I liked the approach and it would obviously speed up the development. Of course Scorex is not production-ready but no one was going to put it into production immediately. I know Alex as a member of NXT community and NXT developer, not as an IOHK employee. I can somehow understand your position now but you should also understand mine. Crypto is about cooperation, and I really expect people to cooperate, especially when they seem interested, like you did. So these developments were unexpected for me, and I made these remarks. This situation does not do any good to either party. Please let's finish this and move on to building products. Thanks Sasha for speaking up! Looking forward to the progress and building of the waves platform. I've been looking for some news and I'm glad that you took the time to give your opinion with regards to IOHK.

Thanks for posting the YouTube link man, much appreciated! There seems to be a lot of FUD going around so everything that helps clarify is great!

Thanks Mikers for pointing this out, way too many people get scammed every day and we as a community need to help clean out the bad actors. Cheers!

Try deleting the DAG file and try starting the eth miner again. My assumption is that the dag file is maybe corrupt and preventing the miner from working properly. No firewall issues? Windows The below relates to installs compiled from source. === Go ===
\~\AppData\Roaming\Ethereum (contains the chain, as well as your keys are in the /keystore subfolder) \~\AppData\Ethash (contains the DAG when mining)
Also google suggested this: I had the same error with my crossfired 7950's on Win 7 and this ended up working for me:
ethminer -F <insert pool url and wallet address> -G --opencl-device 0 -t 2 --opencl-platform 1

@gerhard Every time the thread gets bumped it help DASH spread the word But I agree, that's why we have the ignore button for a less cluttered and saner experience.

nice job to all involved who made this happen, well done. I concur, a great job and thanks for everyone's hard efforts in getting DASH to these large conferences. Spreading the word of DASH really helps the project!

Looking good Evan, 12.1 will bring a bag of neat tricks to the voting table The DASH <-> USD option would probably be welcomed by many voters. Great work!

There seemed to be very little concrete info on how they plan to secure 0-conf transactions. I am puzzled how some third party could prevent a double spend for a 0-confirmed transaction. Wouldn't miners just pick up a new transaction with a higher fee regardless of what a third party thinks about the transaction? Or maybe the third party only notifies a merchant that a double spend has been made? Just had a quick glance at the gulden site. It looked more of a fundraiser for physical bullions than blockchain security, but maybe I just misunderstood the purpose of their products.

Thanks for the further clarification. I think many will be more positive to the proposal now after the explanations!

Kind of late to start increasing the blocksize now, it should have been something addressed earlier to give more capacity to the Bitcoin network. In the case of DASH however, preemptively looking for bottlenecks and addressing them before they are a problem is definitely a better way to go.
