Interested, however some specifics on the auction duration would be nice..

All 6 sold to me, escrow through OgNasty.

Thanks, CerebralEdge. Looking forward to hooking these up!

Well done, I asked for all 6 as well but couldn't get a reply..
463  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: April 29, 2015, 05:06:54 PM
I would set the p= in the password to 0.0110 to 0.0115 and let it roll. There have been spikes in SHA-256 the past 2 weeks at times to 30% over +.

i haven't played with the options like p= at all...but with the profit being -5% I thought I might.  so I set one of my s3's to be p=.011, saved/applied and then rebooted.

I don't know if .011 is really a good value.  would love peoples thoughts.

my s3 now shows that for westhash its "dead" and is mining at my secondary location.  How often does the s3 check on the primary mining location, westhash, to see if it should switch back to westhash for mining?

thoughts are absolutely welcome.

I would use 0.0115 myself--nice/westhash charges a fee, so you want to make sure you take that into consideration.  I use the calculator at bitcoinwisdom (on the diff page, top right) to determine what the 100% mark is per 1TH, then I bump that number up to make sure it's profitable.  YMMV, but this will help you catch the crazy 30%+ rental fees without you worry about wasting hash when it's less profitable.

Unless I am mistaken they only charge a fee for the renter but not people selling hash to them.

464  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Unofficial Spondoolies SP20 thread on: April 29, 2015, 01:55:31 AM
Good luck to Spond; I believe that they will need it.

A thought occured to me: everybody (Spond, Bitfury, KnC) want to call themselves transaction validators, however, I surmise (without marketing research behind this statement) that thousands of miners are the driving force of transactions because they do transact with bitcoin that they mine and use it for other means.
If "small" miners disappear, only to be replaced by four large companies (Bitfury, KNC, Bitmain and Spond), then whose transactions these four will be processing?
Between each other?
They will basically diminish the interest of those who are most interested now and replace it with WHAT? Marketing?
If at the end of the day bitcoin is just another debit/credit card and these four are processors, why would I need that? I have a bunch of plastic already.

While centralization is not a good thing, it's inevitable and those small miners pushing and pushing, and paying premiums for the next big thing drove themselves out of the market...

If you and I use Bitcoin and neither of us mine we need miners to validate those transactions, how much control a single entity has on a given percentage of the network is the concern, if it's a handful of companies it does raise the risk if there is a hint of collusion between those companies..

The above tells me you want a free market but not the inevitable consequences of that free market..

well, once there are ONLY four companies, it's not a free market anymore, more like oligopoly.
Regarding it being inevitable, I am not aware of such economic law. Personally, I would very much prefer a more distributed system.

My main point was not about centralization per se, but about a supposition that once small miners are driven out, 4 big ones will have little transactions to process, unless they do it mostly between each other, which would be artificial, of course.

I think maybe I misunderstood your point, and I think it's sourced from a misunderstanding of transaction processing..

Every Bitcoin transaction is processed, those 4 companies don't process their own, but everyone using Bitcoin, you are implying once small miners are driven out the volume of transactions go down. I would submit that small miners are already a small subset of transactions, I know many more people using Bitcoin that have never mined, than people that mine and use Bitcoin..

yes i ordered from bitmain directly. they shipped out within 24 hours.. or maybe 30 or something but they were pretty good

sold

3x S5
1x evga 1300
1x CX750M

cables

$1100 cash picked up

please, get back to debating fair prices and shipping times and all that bullshit. nothing like dingos dipping into other business just because they can.

You asked for offers, people gave you offers, and frankly not very far from what you sold for if you pull out PSUs, so in the end you received exactly what people were offering.. Perhaps you were the only one that didn't know what they were worth?

467  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: April 28, 2015, 06:51:46 PM
@Inside Bitcoins NYC, Guy's panel on now, does not sound like Spondoolies will be offering consumer products any longer...

Not sure if you recall the announcement Guy made a few weeks ago in this thread, new machines are big, not really suitable for home miners when you need 12-16Kw to run one of the new machines.. I suspect with margins shrinking the overhead of supporting small home customers simply isn't something that can be tolerated, with that said Spondoolies has not gone the way of KNC, I don't see pre-order financing, delayed shipments to self mine, and shipping of used miners as new...

Someone talked me into buying a bunch of shares but I have serious concerns with the legitimacy of the operation and at this point wonder why I didn't hold my BTC instead...
470  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Want to sell: hosting capacity suitable for Bitcoin miners: $60/kw/mo for volume on: April 26, 2015, 02:26:22 PM
Be warned: Their "data center" is virtually inoperational since two weeks.

They have network, heat and communication problems.

Their technical capabilities are limited to run an operation this magnitude.

Stay away for the time being.

Hi Stefan,

We did have a period of network and cooling issues, but I'm glad to say that has been resolved and customers will be refunded for any downtime.

I'm working to implement some new technology to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Robert

That remains to be proven, as you as of yet have only made vague statements of an offer coming but not made any offer at all.

You are a fraudster and lacking the business ethics to understand this, as you see yourself as a business man applying some "negotiation tactics" but not realizing that these "tactics" are nothing else then fraudulent intentions.

But, it is not up to me to teach you what the meaning of fraud is, as this will be handled by a court from Monday onward.

Anyone interesting in joining forces in the lawsuit against ASICSPACE, on top of those parties that have already contacted me, please feel free to join us.

This will be probably the last chance to state your claim for reimbursement as this "company" quite soon might vanish.

I heard some things from a couple of unhappy customers I know but didn't realize it was quite this bad, although from the pictures of the facility I can see why you have been struggling.... Good luck with the lawsuit, with weeks/months of issues and the lack of an equitable resolution I totally get it, I hope they don't skate off as so many others have.
471  Other / Off-topic / Re: Please Help - Ransomware has stolen my files and I need to pay in BitCoins on: April 25, 2015, 04:22:15 PM
I don't know where you can buy bitcoins with credit cards I'm sorry. Think its because they can be charged back.

I'm no expert but cant you take the hard drive out and put it in another pc or connect it to another pc to access the files you need? I have these bloody thieving scumbags infecting peoples equipment with viruses then holding them tom ransom. It makes my blood boil.

DO NOT do that unless you know exactly how to access, even then it will be encrypted so it's not going to take care of it..
472  Other / Off-topic / Re: Please Help - Ransomware has stolen my files and I need to pay in BitCoins on: April 25, 2015, 04:21:25 PM
Hello

To say I'm a noob is an understatement.

I need your help.  My work at home computer is infected by the TeslaCrypt virus, and after trying everything I can think of I had decided to pay the bleeping ransom to get back all the work I have lost.  Except that getting my hands on some bitcoins is not that easy, apparently.

Look, I just want to pay market value from paypal or my mastercard and buy 2.5 bitcoins.  I had no idea it would be so difficult.

I signed up at localbitcoins.com because that is what was suggested by the hackers.  But nobody there will sell me 2.5 bitcoins and they want a crazy amount more than market value for them.  So instead of $550 it's going to cost more like $1000.

I can't afford that.  I'm probably going to lose my job if I can't get these files back.  It's months of work.  I'm about to fall off the wagon here, I need help.

What is the safest way for me to buy some bitcoin, quickly, to satisfy the demands of this hacker?

Can I buy them anywhere that accepts credit cards and will that "address" work for ransom demander?

Please help me

Thanks

TB

Personally I would not pay the ransom, I assume given it's your professional files they are backed up somewhere so worst case you loose only some work.

Localbitcoins is a premium but just present yourself as a buyer and don't get into the reason you want 2.5 BTC and you will get it for maybe 15-20% over market price worst case, things are not nearly as bad as you state.
473  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4+ Discussion and Support Thread on: April 25, 2015, 01:48:58 PM
Hy dear Bitmain and dogie,
unfortunately the "new" S4+ has no significant improvement in power to hash ratio and on my personal opinion a decrease in attraction for home miners in Middle europe, US and other countries above €$0,15/kWH.
If i may post a wish for a S6 or S7, this would be 0,25W/GH and a noise level below 30db. Technically this should not be an issue for a legit company as bitmain is  Wink

Kind regards,
elrippo

I'm convinced the S4+ is just an attempt to make the S5 look like a better value, so they'll sell more of them. This is a marketing tricking to make the lower priced product seem like a better value.

I don't know if I would say that.  If you had a warehouse or huge operation this would be a nice product as far as the amount of hash it brings.

With not being 110 its not a product for all, but there are some out there that are it's "ideal" customers.

Ideal customers, anyone that cares about power efficiency and has plumbed 205V+ in already? I paid all of $150 to have an electrician drop in two 240V 20A circuits and they've been paying for themselves with EVGA, LEPA, Antminer, other PSUs running an average of almost 10% more efficient.
474  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: KNC SECOND BATCH TITAN 400 MH/s For sale! BRAND NEW! on: April 23, 2015, 09:02:20 PM
I hope you sell it. That said, this forum is not a re-post service for eBay auctions. State a price in BTC and remove link. Also, are you nuts? $4K?

You do realize this is second batch, and is almost half price. No, it's extremely reasonable, as it's best out there. Also price in BTC, would be $5400 USD going price in BTC. Reputable escrow will be used.

Heck, I charge $20K for mine so it's really only 20% of the price Smiley, I wouldn't have written back to dirty up the thread but that logic is so out of touch with reality.. It's only worth what the market will bear, and second batch Titans aren't even selling on ebay for that..

Obviously you can ask whatever you wish and no one should give you crap for that, but don't try and defend it with completely flawed logic...

you charge 20k? that's heck of lot more than i'm asking. do you mean 2k? I'd do as low as $4000k in BTC. That is starting auction price i've got going on ebay.

I was saying that sarcastically to prove a point, what someone charged for it last year is irrelevant, the market price is the only price that matters.. Batch 2 titans have been selling on ebay for about $2500 on average, pull $250 off the top for ebay fees and you have $2250 average for Batch 2 including the Paypal fee. That's good and all but in the end the ROI is still the driver, which is well under that number.. I am always game to buy a Titan with BTC or Paypal but will pay a price that may result in an ROI at some point, as are most...

Opening this back up to offers. Please PM me them.

You set no minimum that I can see so are you saying you didn't even honor the terms of the auction, looks like there was a winner.. I can see why you want to shed the account if this is how you conduct yourself..

http://www.reddit.com/r/BitMarket/comments/32ndtp/wts_btc_miners/

Is this a completely separate deal and you just happen to have ~50 TH locally between your friend and yourself?

Its the same deal. I am negotiable on the price but 30BTC is to low unles sbuyer wants to do local pickup then id consider it

Current fair market value of all the individual hardware is close to $9,000

If you are using ebay as the basis for pricing slice off 15% for fees, also consider that fiat is the primary payment mechanism in that case providing ready access to credit for buyers...

In any case given all of the back and forth on different pieces of hardware please cut to the chase and provide me a price for all of the Neptunes, and SP20s.. I am in the US, a few hundred miles away, FedEx Home Delivery is very inexpensive..

479  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF3301 Specifications Revealed [Updated 14/4/15] on: April 15, 2015, 01:44:35 AM
If the j/gh ratio is real, this is gonna be a game changer!  Grin

it wont be. guarenteed thats at the lowest voltage/frequency, and probably for just the chip (doesnt include regulator loss, PSU loss, other power draws like a controller/fan)

realisticlaly in a final product, this would probably range 0.28W-0.50W depending on settings (ie: similar to the Bitmain chip)

Agreed, looks extremely similar power consumption to the S5's chip on sha256 mode. The scrypt mode looks more appealing, and we don't yet know what we'll be able to do in dual mining modes. If its anything like the gen 1 chips then I don't think many people will dual mine.
Dogie, I think it's high time you'll put a disclaimer about your BitmainTech affiliation somewhere in your signature or personal text.

I only speak on behalf of those companies within their own threads, am I not allowed to hold an opinion any more?

Anyway, the lowest tested efficiency is extremely close to that of the BM1384 and BE300 tests. And as others have already said, the lowest efficiency point is not going to be the shipping stock efficiency. Hence people should remain realistic in their expectations. Do you disagree?

I think the point is that you represent yourself as a community member much like others, provide guides for numerous manufacturers, implying impartiality, but are also paid by Bitmain, a walking (or typing) set of contradictions...
