462  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Importance of emotion while trading on: October 22, 2023, 11:52:07 PM
Simple as taking profit is being forgotten by many due to the emotion as they trade. Never ignore that feeling when you should take profit and it's together with not being greedy. When you're not greedy and you're making some decent money through your trades, you'll have a good thinking and mindset that what's enough is enough. But when you're greedy and you're making but you're not satisfied from it, you're not also going to recognize how good you are and you'll mostly think that there's something wrong with you.
463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gift to wife. on: October 22, 2023, 09:14:34 PM
In my country there are already several people who marry their partners using bitcoin dowry. Even though there are many pros and cons, this is good for introducing Bitcoin to the people around us.
I assume you live in Indonesia mate, I didn't know that there's already the type of marriage like that there. But who's not going to decline that type of ceremony when the partner has got Bitcoin. It's like the new flex for being financially free today and more of it when the person is holding a lot of it.

That bitcoin is better than gold or diamonds.
For us, it's true that Bitcoin is better than those assets. But if talking about which is better, we're biased because where into Bitcoin and this is a subjective thing. But regardless of that, they just need to accept the fact that this works better for us thus we say Bitcoin is better than those.
464  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coinsph nawalan ng xrp , Mag-ingat on: October 22, 2023, 07:34:53 PM

465  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Traditional business or investing in bitcoin? which one is good? on: October 22, 2023, 05:42:35 PM

Based on my personal assessment and my apparent understanding of the chart over the timeframe I have established, I believe that before the end of this year, Bitcoin's price range will play 35k-40k, and that entering 2024, either in January or February, it is possible that the bull run will start gradually in the market.

The breakout is indeed conceivable when we enter the price around 32k, according to my prediction that is currently evident, even despite how others have stated here, this is only my speculation.

I don't actually choose one of them to be honest. Why? Because traditional business won't work for me I've been there before and nothing happened. Investing in Bitcoin won't work as well since I am having a hard time with it's volatility since I need cash flow for my family's needs. Though I am here investing my time and effort to earn fractions of Bitcoin but yeah if ever I need to invest on something it would be real estate and collectible silver and gold coins.
466  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Traditional business or investing in bitcoin? which one is good? on: October 21, 2023, 09:55:21 PM
Parehas ay may kanya kanyang risk involved. It also depends kung ano yung experience mo both fields kasi yun yung important thing about it. Both are good depende kung ano ang view mo sakanilang dalawa since parehas naman sila may risk. Though for me mas pipiliin ko yung crypto kasi siguro mas mahaba yung experience ko sa cryptocurrency compared to having a business.
Umaasa ako this time sa crypto cycle which is I think nasa middle na tayo ng cycle.
LFG!
468  Economy / Economics / Re: Bangladesh economy facing headwinds on: October 21, 2023, 11:22:20 AM
Mate, that's also what's happening here in our country. There's the opposition and the administration party and together with their alliances. It's always the disagreement and agreement from these political parties. And IMHO, that's what makes the progress of our country slow when there's always the disagreement and time is consumed from all of these debates from both parties. I think that debt also plays a big part, on what I've seen, the chart for Bangladesh's debt is on an uptrend til' 2028 based on statista.com.

I think that's happened in a lot of developing country, in one side opposition is good to watch the winning parties so that they are not corrupt, and don't do stupid thing. But on the other hand, they hinder the country development by denying all the good programs and idea by the winning side, even when the table turns on the next election, they prefer to start a similar project from zero rather than continuing the good project created by their opponent.
Well, that's what politics is all about. It won't be called politics if there won't be any opposing parties or forces that will subject to the current administration and governance. We can imagine a world that has no politics and everyone is agreeing to the ruler or highest official that runs a country. Anyway, that's a utopia and won't happen or maybe it will but just through one world government as what the conspiracies are saying. Going back to Bangladesh, I've just watched the news about belt and road initiative. Surely this is a debt trap from China.
469  Economy / Economics / Re: No petrol/diesel car sales by 2035/ Reality or dream? on: October 21, 2023, 09:08:08 AM
There's a sudden flood news and launching of electric vehicles in my country(Philippines) recently. And it's like our government is setting the idea of 50% EVs and 50% diesel/petrol cars by 2040. I don't know if that's going to be possible but with the keep on rising of petrol's price, maybe it's possible as everyone in here looking for a way to save. There are already countrymen of mine that have purchased small EVs. And I think that we're expecting more of these EVs to be launched for the next coming years but I just don't like most of them since they're Chinese brands.
such target of having 50% of vehicle turning electric is definitely possible, but only if the government help incentivizes the use of electric vehicles, only then the demand for the EV will increase, and then the company that built the ev will also help support the infrastructure, beside from the government action itself in building the EV infrastructure.
honestly it just needs electric plug with big capacity then you're set.
I can see many gas station also making these things available so the infrastructure building needed aren't that massive, its still quite rare right now because not many people own EV.
In our country, there's already an incentive for those that will purchase and use EVs and that's no coding. That means that you can travel anytime you want and you'll have no coding, I am actually considering that but with my lack of knowledge about EVs and also the budget, hehe.. I might not be able to do that. I'll just wait for more infrastructure to be built in our country with those electric stations for charging, good thing that there are already some in the metro NCR but there should be more in almost different parts of our country.
470  Economy / Economics / Re: Bangladesh economy facing headwinds on: October 21, 2023, 06:25:31 AM
They are independent country though. And most countries today seem to be struggling.

One problem always is somewhat to be blamed in a country that has been struggling for years like Bangladesh is the government with 2 parties that do nothing but stopping each others project depending on who is seated in the presidency.

One government party will allow projects stand for long term to which they can expect a project will be completed since there is no opposition.

If there are some rich folks that have been anti Bitcoin or crypto before and then some of their conglomerates start to show some news that they're going to make their own crypto or cbdc or anything related to cryptocurrency as their services, it's nothing new to think of.
They've been doing this for so long and they're just pulling down the prices for whichever plan that they want to execute at the right time. If Buffett starts to say that he's liking Bitcoin these days and everyone should look at it, that won't surprise us anymore because there were folks like Dimon just did the same before.

475  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino Junket Operator on: October 19, 2023, 11:53:49 PM
But in my opinion all of this is dangerous for the assets we own or not depending on the place we use because not the majority of investment places will have the potential to commit fraud as you have discussed the same goes for gambling whether there is chance of detrimental fraud or not depends on where do you gamble and anyone who joins the casino for the affiliate program because large trusted casinos will only be filled by people with high level of trust or people with a good reputation.
It is actually risky, first when you don't know what it is. When you trust someone that you shouldn't trust and when you rely only on this type of investment. You're doomed to failure when you're one of those people that have been a victim of this scheme. Much better, not to rely to anyone, invest on what you know and avoid investments like this because most likely only VIPs or investors with huge funds gets to the actual connection and network of these junkets if ever one is legit in existence.

Of course because no criminal will admit to his crime if fraudster tells the truth and admits to the fraud he committed then no one will believe him anymore.
After all he does all this to get money and whatever they will do so that at any time he can smoothly carry out every activity that is detrimental to other people but profitable for himself.
There can be a twist on this one, two have been known which was the couple that have victimized a lot of people. What if there are also their connections that are just hiding in their wings and not known to the public yet they can't expose.
476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 19, 2023, 07:41:41 PM
JB is likely to be out for 2 years and his team is unlikely to contest the dope result. It's because that his contract with PBA is also affected by that result.

They can certainly try to contest it, but can they win? I mean, it's the event organizer who found Brownlee to be using a prohibited substance. I don't think Ginebra has a strong reason to contest this unless they can somehow question the testing process. If they were to win, it could damage China's reputation as the host of the event, which I believe is unlikely to happen. For now, I think we just have to accept what has happened. Brownlee should rest and await the final result and any potential sanctions.
They have said it before when the results recently out but just after a few days that it seems the results have been proven to be strong, it is the management that said that they won't contest it anymore. That's why they are just accepting the results and as fans, we can't do anything with it and that could also been the reason why Justin Brownlee went back home when he knew that the results will be out soon. Anyway, we're still fans of him and ever since, he's the one that helped the Gilas to get that gold and we should just accept that it's only one person that has positive result on the test and not more than two which will give that disqualification and taking back of the gold medal.
477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 19, 2023, 09:30:39 AM
Now that Teng is with SMC, did anyone sees the line up they have since the social media star Kyt has still got a contract issue with the MPBL? They've got a lot of players.

I'm not too worried about Kyt since he's just a rookie, and he's not likely to earn a lot of minutes yet. On the other hand, compared to Teng, who has played several seasons with other teams before landing with SMB, I have a feeling he'll be in the starting lineup. SMB's current starters are also getting older, like Ross and Lassiter. They need a fresh and young player to bring in some energy. So, I'm sure Perez, Teng, and JMF will be in the starting lineup, but I'm not sure about the other two to complete the starting lineup.
I saw the list of players and he's not there so I guess he'll be just into the pool and likely to be a practice player. Even with that, he should still be good and this is already a good chance for him because he has signed IIRC. I've seen another news that Berto Bollick wants to go back to the Philippines and asking his B League team to terminate his contract due to her wife giving birth. But many fans are thinking that there's more to that and there's likely a better offer probably from SMB.

Is there any news or rumors yet about who will replace Brownlee as Ginebra's import?

I believe there's immense pressure on whoever steps in to replace Brownlee, as he will be playing for the best team in the PBA. The crowd won't likely take kindly to a lack of success in the upcoming season. As for TNT, I think it's already been announced that RHJ will be their import. At least Ginebra will aim to find an import who can compete with and surpass RHJ, as he seems to be the benchmark now.
JB is likely to be out for 2 years and his team is unlikely to contest the dope result. It's because that his contract with PBA is also affected by that result.

Great news for SMB.

Newlywed Jeron Teng moves to SMB on two-year contract
Quote
JUST days after getting hitched, Jeron Teng got a new lease on life in his PBA career.

Teng, who became a free agent after he was released by Converge, signed a two-year contract with the Beermen on Wednesday in the presence of SMC sports director Alfrancis Chua and his agent Danny Espiritu.

Now, I can confidently say that SMB is shaping up to be a solid defensive team. With a healthy JMF, this team is becoming a force to reckon with, especially since Ginebra will be missing Brownlee as the new season kicks off. Great pick-up by SMB!

Jeron Teng has proven himself to be a valuable contributor, particularly on the defensive end. He's also got some great driving skills to get to the paint, which pairs well with JMF's capabilities. SMB doesn't just need more outside shooter; they need a player who knows how to attack and Teng seems to fit that mold.
They're always like this, they're able to scout those good players that are asking for max contract. Anyway, if they think that Teng is good to be with them then that's their decision. After all, his father was also a member of SMC before so that's coming from the roots as well. I'm just intrigue if they have given the asking contract for Teng but it's most likely that they did but it's like a two way contract. One from the max based on PBA's term and agreement and next is like the personal contract that they've given to him. Now that Teng is with SMC, did anyone sees the line up they have since the social media star Kyt has still got a contract issue with the MPBL? They've got a lot of players.
