19th nov firmware is the best one
stable fan speed and low temp

Somehow I was unable to find this??? Do you have a link?
Thank you

Oh so you just tie in the one wire. Is it simply a pot? Or is there more involved in that adjustment? I can't find the one you purchased any longer, but I'm still looking.
Thanks

Here's a video of them, caught it at high power, then up to high then essentially off lol

Clearly this is stolen funds, so you will lose it.
And not only will no Escrow touch this. It's absolutely useless to use one..

There is a very big reason people don't accept credit cards in the business.

ery big businesses don't accept them, Maybe there's a reason why..

Okay I'll google for the Nov 19th firmware, unless someone has a link? Smiley

It balances the noise out a bit? that's great.

It amazes me how I have to look at it to see if it's even running one minute, and the next minute yell to hear myself lol
488  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 23, 2016, 06:27:16 PM

ya no one seems to read my posts very much lol. i agree the auto tune feature isnt much of a feature. it runs boards too hard and i personally would want to control the speed. idc so much about raising it but i would at least like the aility to lower the speed but with the new firmware your unable to. my post was just to give some sort of solution to those that wanted to solve 1 of the 2 issues which is fan speed control. if it helps folks great if it doesnt great lol. at least this way they can try to get a handle on the high temps when running these auto tune miners.

I read your post, just didn't fully understand what you were getting at, It also seems like it may not be the best option, If we set them at one point and it at some point needs more, no way to get that.
A software solution that won't let them go lower then a certain speed, but still ramp up if needed would be ideal.
But I will look into those controllers.
Did they do a fine job of tricking the s9 into thinking it still had control?
As I understand it, the thing shuts down if it thinks the fans stopped running.
489  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: There is a way to 1BTC monthly? on: November 23, 2016, 06:20:56 PM
Solo mining with 100th will get you squat, or likely squat, pool mining is what will get you 1btc roughly, per month with 3 of those machines.
490  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1500 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: November 23, 2016, 03:59:31 PM
p2pool needs a high power PC. Running it on RPi would be real bad.
Concur. CPU performance aside, the RPi does not have the raw I/O performance necessary to cope with reading/writing both the blockchain and the sharechain. The getwork latency would be astronomical.

4 cores in the pi 3, as long as your not stuffing phs down its throat it should be fine. The IO issue can be solved by booting off the sd card and then mounting a usb drive as the root filesystem post-boot (or using u-boot to boot the usb drive directly, and just have an sd card for the u-boot and firmware portions).

Out of the box with an sd card, there is no way the IO would ever be fast enough. If they ever finish the compute model for pi 3, that may be an option as I believe its emmc and much faster than regular sd card (or USB) IO.

The RAM is the next issue you would run into. p2pool itself on bitcoin chews about 700mb ram (on one of my systems). Pi 3 comes with 1GB ram. You could run p2pool on one pi 3, no wallets/daemons would work in the remaining amount of ram.
Ya I figured it was to much to ask for Smiley
I love the idea of the peer pooling, would like to see it built into mining controllers, getting away from centralized pools all together

You can buy these contracts on ebay, for a retarded amount. lol
492  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Solo miners hashrate Btc on: November 23, 2016, 03:39:42 PM
Are you referring to how much home power the avg miner has?
That can range anywhere from a few MH stick miners to a hundred TH...
493  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 23, 2016, 01:54:43 PM
Solar panel can be used as long as it can supply you steady 1600W range to be plenty for 1 S9.
but steady power feed is needed to keep the miner up and running.

Can anybody tell me if the Antminer S9 can run on solar power .Huh Smiley .

http://www.tatapowersolar.com/#

i can install and let my miner run on it.

i can ask the company to let me know how many hours of power supply it will provide.

That way i can get free electricity and don't have to worry about the power costs.

Ok i will enquire it with the company , to ask if i can get steady power supply in here , but it seems the best option since i cannot get free electricity.

Here is the calculator result for 2000 sq feet area.

Result - save upto 1,800* units per month.

I can make it directly connect to the miner so that power is supplied only to the miner.

Not directly.

Panels to inverter to psu to miner.  needs a grid tie in to skip batteries

or panels to charger to battery to inverter to psu to miner.

ok then thanks i will research a bit more and also ask the company then.

can look up a manual or you people can help me set it up will take a few months.

Antminer S9 mines on DC right , ongrid solar power supply units supply power in AC so i will need an inverter.

Here's a link for ongrid system's.

http://www.tatapowersolar.com/Solution-For-Consumers/Solar_Rooftop_System.

Offgrid max is 1200 w What is the difference between ongrid and offgrid btw.??

Thanks a lot then.

The ROI on these with cheap power is sometimes mind boggeling.
You will never ROI with solar, so only do this for your home, NOT for mining.

for those of you wandering if this is the auto tune version.  This pic seems to be a stock 14TH model.  so it will be set to hash at 650M frequency by the firmware.

Has anyone tried the firmware from 11-19? I'm giving it a shot on one machine right now. Curious how it is working for others?

Fan speed is much better handled for me - slight variations in speed, gently ramped, instead of the bang-bang controller in the previous autotune FWs.

Seeing much lower reported temps (~10C lower) but I haven't dug into whether that is just a cosmetic change or a change in setpoint for target temp.

Hashrate is good - 13.904avg over 3025 hours on a batch 1 set to 650MHz (theoretical speed 14.004):

Nice of you to jump in, and still be following the thread.
but please, can we discuss the elephant in the room? wtf is with these fans
They idle so low one minute, and the next minute my neighbors can hear them.
I have no issue with noisy miners, but this seems like it's just unrequired noise.
One minute they blast at 110% the next they are cruising at 25%. than boom back up again.
If they idled Higher, at 60% maybe? they would need to spike as often, and this would help with the noise greatly.

Ah okay, but you find it isn't rampin as hard? at least that's a step in the right direction.
496  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S9 Setup [HD] on: November 23, 2016, 12:04:50 AM
Hello, I have a question about the Power supply for a S9 (batch 22). If I only have 220V in my house, is it okey if I just use another PSU, different than the one recommended by Bitmain, that can be used with 110V? If thats the case, do you have any recomendation? Thanks Smiley
EVGA 1600, or a 1k and 750, really any pc power supply, but realize you need 400-600 per board, so you'll want buffer, and one board can't have more than one psu.
I run mine with 2 boards on a EVGA 1300, and the third board runs on a 750 watt psu.

That's awesome, so does it allow fan tweaking or tweaking of the Hastrate?
498  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1500 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: November 22, 2016, 11:46:28 PM
Has anyone set up a ready to run install for the RPi for this? Looks awesome. But I'd rather not tie a PC up, running a Pi with my miners seems to me like the best way to go?
499  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 22, 2016, 11:18:52 PM
So Running the S9 on only two boards.
Right now I'm getting 626 and 626 frequency, very balanced.
The miner is showing 8.8TH Avg
But slush pool is reporting only at 7.8
Nice, loss of a whole Terrahash to the interwebs.

There a better mining pool to use?

There should be a way,
Someone needs to build a controller board to fake the fans response lol.
I'd buy that, But I'm also attacking ducting to mine to pump it into my furnace, But now I'll pick up a 4 inch duct fan to pull full speed, it should increase air flow dramatically.
