481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: February 02, 2016, 11:18:21 PM
PR watchers, here are nodes that are getting me connections in the Windows Red Granite wallet.  Add them the Prototanium.conf file.

addnode=75.19.27.27:65525
addnode=75.19.27.28:65525
addnode=wmikrut.com:18011
addnode=109.235.69.248:65525
addnode=cryptopia.com
addnode=cryptobe.com

Thanks to the Uno community for helping give CPR to PR, and giving it another shot at life.  I know our friends at Cryptopia appreciated it. They had come under criticism when the PR network went down.

It's fitting that the discussion for PR is more active over at Cryptocointalk.com now.  Join us there if you want to talk more in depth about PR.

Thanks for posting these, quoting for preservation in archives. Smiley

483  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin arbitrage on GitHub: ~2% monthly return, market-neutral long/short on: February 02, 2016, 04:19:57 PM
I got it resolved by removing 796.com for the moment and also opened an issue with them as i
* suspected it is an issue with their API
* wanted to know if they will enable short sells via API

;-)

I will probably go ahead and patch it into mine tonight, but leave it commented out until after New Year. Exciting times though, 796 support is very nice.
484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DustCoin DUST 100% PoS Yobit ICO on: February 02, 2016, 01:05:24 PM

I rented that daemon, but the server went down a while a go and the guy never appeared again. Thats why I had to change the node.

Has anyone submitted code audits of this? Why are your binaries unsigned?

Still more amateur hour in altcoinlland.

You are free to audit the code. The binaries are not signed as like 99% of all binaries that are released for altcoins.
where/who did you rent the server from?

It was from one of the users of this forum. Cant reach him anymore.

Which user was that, does anyone have information regarding the servers former owner here on bitcointalk?
485  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: February 02, 2016, 11:42:34 AM
Maybe it's a good thing that some porn sites are accepting Bitcoin, but I don't think this is something we should be proud of or even something we should shout out loud to promote Bitcoin.

Just imagine saying to someone to whom you are introducing Bitocoin: " You know it's a cool currency, even porn sites are accepting them!" How stupid is that?

How stupid is it to be so naive as to believe your puritanism is relevant to this conversation at all. People are going to pay for vice, it is human nature.  Roll Eyes

Thanks mxnsch and siameze!

Hopefully it will be possible to programmatically short sell on 796.com. For the moment, we still only have Bitfinex that offers that feature.

PS: the Chinese New Year is next Monday (February 8th).

Awesome news, and I like how the project keeps moving forward in a positive direction. Hopefully this weekend I will be able to see if I can look closer into the 796 code, did mxnsch get his issue resolved?
488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HAM - HamRadioCoin - SHA 256 - Crypto on the radio! Official Thread on: February 01, 2016, 01:53:44 PM
A bit of a surprise here to be honest, I thought there would be lots of help.

But never mind, I am working on several things that are almost complete Smiley

Though I am not working on this project any longer, I look forward to seeing the developments just the same. I'll be sure to let IMZ know as well but I am pretty sure he is watching this thread pretty closely.  Grin
489  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: February 01, 2016, 01:48:33 PM
Really if we have to spend bitcoins this is the best way to spend in porn sites lol, I heard porn characters, they do whatever you want from her in online but watching them online is a waste of time better go for the real one.

Well there's always backpage.com ... some of those girls are accepting bitcoin for "dates" though selection varies from city to city I imagine.  Cool

Guys,  do you think , I should pm theymos again with signed message ?
admin haven't contact you yet? That's weird I think

No. I still didn't got any response from him.

Since it's not a vip or donator account, it might take a while.. noticed that's the case most of the time.. or might just be a coincidence  Grin

so what should be done next now ? any suggestions for me ?

At this point it is probably just a waiting game unfortunately. Use the spare account you got to do business and earn with. It also might be helpful to learn PGP to protect your identity further.

LMAO!  Cheesy

dis·count
ˈdiskount/
noun
1.
a deduction from the usual cost of something, typically given for prompt or advance payment or to a special category of buyers.
"many stores will offer a discount on bulk purchases"
synonyms:   reduction, deduction, markdown, price cut, cut, rebate
"students get a 10 percent discount"

The others are ho-hum, but that particular one got a laugh out of me. Spell check before clicking the "buy" button?

494  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin arbitrage on GitHub: ~2% monthly return, market-neutral long/short on: January 31, 2016, 01:20:42 AM

I am currently trying to get 796 working, but struggling. Does anybody have a working 796 integration?

A first implementation of 796.com has been done (link to cpp file here) but has never been tested. The getLimitPrice() function has to be rewritten to match the other exchanges.

Note that 796.com only trade Bitcoin futures contracts.

Hey thanks for this! I will compile it in tommorow and report my experience later on. Nice work!  Smiley

Gavin has been unsucessful in trying to fracture Bitcoin and increase the blocksize already. What makes this approach any different besides magically changing a number ?
496  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: January 30, 2016, 09:29:54 PM
There are many websites are available to see any porn sites then why people are worried about to see any porn sites or do something inside the porn websites. Its better not to waste bitcoin money for it. we can save and invest it for better future.

People have different sort of interests in different things, and many do pay for porn online...
However, there are good porn businesses where BTC should be implemented in order for it to get good exposure...

Did you see this thread? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1094024

That place is as about as classy as it gets. Still a lot of work being done but it's a pretty great site and a lot of fun. Smiley
497  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: A whole new chrome extension providing data of bitcoin on: January 30, 2016, 03:55:49 AM
I have stopped installing dogecoin when I read that one of my friend's wallet was hacked and on my dogechain info account site I was told to disable add ons as it might compromise my account,the extension looks good and very informative but I will have to wait for users feedback before I will use this extension

If you use extensions like this, try them in a sandbox or VM first. It is perfectly safe to try as long as you use basic security precautions.
498  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: January 30, 2016, 03:44:34 AM
Can anyone help me telling how to create a vanity address for altcoins?
Since each alt-coin has its own first character, there are some random prefix needed to enter.

For example;

vanitygen64.exe -X 48 LTC - Litecoin

vanitygen64.exe -X 55 -k PWn3d - Peercoin

vanitygen64.exe -X 30 -o hole.txt DBone - Dogecoin

vanitygen64.exe -X 71 -i Vertical - Vertcoin

So how do I calculate these random prefix?

You only need to calculate the Base58 number that corresponds to the prefix. This may help you: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/List_of_address_prefixes
499  Economy / Services / Re: YoBit.Net - Signature Campaign - Realtime Payouts (daily) on: January 30, 2016, 02:38:17 AM
hi i dont know whats the problem, but ive been trying to get my btc and put it in my yobit wallet but i can do it.
can anyone tell what should i do.

if you check posts above yours you will know that the send to balance button isn't working, you need to just wait for it to be fixed usually around 2-3days time, try to send them a ticket that might speed up the the fixing

oh ok! i thought there was a countdown before claiming again. thanks for clearing that up.

Seems to be working again. I decided from now on I will run a macro that automatically sends it to my balance every hour if there is a positive number so I'm not left waiting 3 days again with so much locked funds.
well a macro may be not really useful in this situation Grin you just need to click the button daily at the end of the day or on the next day Grin

Well it may not be particullarly useful to you but having something check if I have a balance and click it for me is incredibly useful to someone as busy as I am.

Absolutely no to a name change and certainly not "Bitcoin elite" which would put it in the same camp as "Bitcoin Core", "Bitcoin XT", "Bitcoin Classic", etc. it would be completely confusing.

Thank God I'm not the only one rejecting the silly idea of renaming Bitcoin.
