"FK's Tyler Durden"
LOL

1.  direct NXT/UNO trading pair is tough to do, near impossible.  NXT looks to be creating their own platform, and all the coins in UNITY will allow in wallet trading.  (virtual exchange)  Hence, the ETF concept.  We just create an asset and list it.  We = 6-12 reputable uno regulars underwriting the fund.

I always wondered why (for utility sake) a NXT asset was necessary, I mean a colored coin would do the exact same thing couldn't it? Could verify assets directly on the BTC blockchain, or even UNO rockchain with a few tweaks.

One of the things that I always wanted with Darkcoin was the ability to set a requirement that the client would not display your balance or transaction history without you entering a password, or pin number, or screen gesture, or something. Your wallet.dat shouldn't even betray your addresses... Obsessing over Darksend obfuscation of your transactions while any wandering vagabond could swipe a copy of your wallet.dat and see everything you'd been up to seemed a bit daft for a privacy-centric currency to me, so I'm going to try to implement this as an option for BCR.

That is one of the better ideas I have heard, a simple PIN would be nice. I'm still following this project, although I can only seem to build on Debian (which works flawlessly). Ubuntu, not-so-flawlessly.

I like how this is a separate thread though in a way, with minimal conversation, my bot can search it easier Cheesy

*Yet we listed two security breaches among us Australians in just the last ten weeks!

Could you provide any information or updates on those @IMZ ?

I personally had Two Backups fail and I fubared another. Redundancy redundancy redundancy.

I couldn't agree more. Having the presence of mind to make a few GPG encrypted copies of those backups (this applies to paper wallets too) does a lot to reduce the number of horror stories. Hardly a week goes by you don't see someone who lost coins and had not a single backup of their wallet, or did not write down their seed.
1306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: June 17, 2015, 10:47:00 PM
Alt markets rarely create a large change in volume. NXT/UNO, LTC/UNO w.e. it wouldn't make 10% of the volume that CNY/UNO would.

XRP/UNO and DOGE/UNO currently have $3 of volume compared to $1,572 of BTC/UNO volume.

I'm not saying alt/pairings are bad, I like them, but focus on a Chinese Yuan pairing or USD pairing before anything.

Surely if cryptsy somehow is still pairing USD/XPY and USD/RDD they would eventually pair a proven price performer as UNO.
1307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: June 17, 2015, 10:17:02 PM
Regarding derivatives:

I hear what Gekko's saying, but I also think demand is where you find it.  I'll take the 6 guys who trade DVC, and add them to the 200 mega hodlers, and add those to the day traders, and then multiple all this by China.

If you want to lockup Uno and make a NXT asset, go for it.
If you own an exchange like Cryptopia and want to tie up Uno in obscure altcoin pairings, go for it.
If you speak Chinese and can bring the Uno story to China, then I love you too.

In ideal world that was completely under my control, our message about Uno would be tight. But truly, I'm here to try serve you, and help you get to where you want to go. Whether you're a hodler, investor, trader, merchant, service provider, developers, exchange op, miners, or someone with niche interests and plans for Uno, I'm glad you're here.

In my family we all have different interests. The most enjoyable part of the day for me is sitting at the dinner table and discussing what we're doing. I don't find it confusing that we're all doing different things; I find it exciting.

I fully expect that when China really gets rolling, we will need a Chinese version of FallingKnife. I look forward to meeting him/her/them. I think we'll become good friends and collaborate on many things.

I agree totally. Everyone has their niche, and the many different things are happening are interesting, if not exciting. However, in the lust to attract new investments and markets, you cannot alienate the people that already hold UNO and have been loyal members of the community for some time.

Guild price is my index, because that is about the most stable value I have seen. Plus the crypto bullion backing. Wink

About Gavincoin vs offchain txs:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZp7UGgBR0I

XT is using bitcoin in ways it wasn't designed, so eventually gavincoin will be just a worthless instrument on a dead chain.

I have a fairy dumb question...

Does anyone know the default file location of the Unobtanium wallet.dat file in Windows Vista? I am updating to the new wallet and have used the "Backup Vault" feature to create a backup wallet file but I'd like to make double sure I've backed things up correctly before upgrading, and I'll also need to know where to paste the wallet backup in the new wallet folder.

Sorry about the dumb q... just don't want to mess up and lose all my precious UNOs.

Start>Run> %APPDATA%\Unobtanium I believe

That should do it. If you need more instructions on how to do find the wallet.dat, check this post. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=527500.msg11422814#msg11422814

Thanks for the hand holding. I've successfully updated and loaded my existing wallet into the new client.

Really glad it worked out for you! No fuss with the new client here for me at the moment. Trying to get some people on the guild on to prettying it up.

Are these games not provably fair? I wasn't seeing anything about that/any options, and that is a huge deal for me and a lot of other players.
This feature will be added within one of the next releases  Smiley
Wait - so what is the CURRENT system, if it isn't provably fair?HuhHuh

He refuses to talk about a lot of things. I had to accept a settlement to resolve trust issues. The provably fair thing raises flags.

I keep waiting to have bussiness with you, i still wait for your mp Smiley.

Hi andulolika, as I have stated you are on a list with everyone else interested in the silver ones Smiley I have had a number of hold ups regarding the holograms, but these are ordered now. As long as they are of equal or greater quality as the ones I have sold previously then I will be proceeding to have more bars manufactured.

I forgot what number I was on the new (pure silver) waiting list ?

EDIT: I applied for the cryptoguild TT discount you advertised, if that helps.

I haven't been keeping track, but I believe you are between 4 and 6 in my notes!

Edit: Regarding the cryptoguild- that was just an ad campaign, but I still appreciate it Smiley

Mine was international shipping, I forgot about that. I am still in anyway. How many will be made this run?

I need an updated list of nodes and the clients they are running, for data purposes. If no one has one already I'll throw it up a gist and make it auto update.
You can find that here.

Very nice link, thank you for the share. It fixed a json problem I was having with other services.

This guy: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=263575  is just making nonsense posts all over. I don't see why other than to spam, as he has no signature.

EDIT: I did report and will leave it to mods.

possible hacked account? he was acting normally up to 20th may. then logged back in today and started swearing all over the place

his password has not been edited though

Possible. I didn't check the changelog to see if he reset his pass since the forum was compromised. But you are correct,we are starting to see a few accounts exhibit strange behavior.
