Are there any users in this thread who use irc? It would be nice to bounce project ideas with some of you in real time.

Auto update sounds great to me.

Keep your eyes out for good, trustworthy devs who would like to share their skills with Unobtanium, and in the process gain our admiration and the cred of working on a long lived, respected, vetted fair launch crypto with a decent marketcap, which gets media attention, backed by an awesome community, and a great story. If you are such a dev, PM me.

I am sticking with it for the long haul, especially due to the correlation with physical metals. I fully intend to build the majority of my projects on top of UNO.

As far as I'm concerned, the more people are familiar with this codebase, the more robust technology that uses block chains becomes.

I've been thinking of weird applications of block chains.  We think in terms of cryptocurrencies because bitcoin, but that's NOT by any means the only application within which we want a protocol for determining a consensus history.

+1 not enough people realize all the amazing things that blockchain technology can do. Too many see it as a insta-scam or a tool to get-rich-quick. Digging deeper, one can see far more possibilities.

My old account here was ikeboy (before I got banned for posting too many cat pics), some people got upset earlier in the thread when we argued, (I can get a bit aggressive when I feel the person I'm arguing with is wrong)  so whatever I say now I'll often get accused of being some kind of shill/troll and worse ad hominems, despite all the work I put in towards exposing this (like two hashtalk dumps, mirroring the huge email leaks https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=857670.msg11099833#msg11099833, the writeup on the leaked prime keys https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=857670.msg11237802#msg11237802, and so on.)

I feel this forum is a bit too quick to call people trolls; there have been many posters obviously shilling, but when you start taking the fact that someone asked for evidence as proof that they're a troll (and ignoring anything they may have contributed), something's gone very wrong.

Anyone who spoke up during the XPY cult frenzy certainly gets props from me. I think I had linked to some of your posts during discussions on this subject in IRC.

Does that mean there's an official Windows wallet?

Pregnant silence...

Actually, the unofficial one works well.  I dropped the 1.0 unofficial beta executable in the folder where the 0.95 executable is located (C:\Program Files (x86)\Unobtanium on my system), updated the shortcut to point to the new one, and once the reindexing is finished, everything seems to work well -- "missing" coins all of a sudden appear.

It would nice for appearances sake if there were an official installer/setup file that would create and/or update existing installations, and it would be nice for appearances sake if the newly installed version could check for updates automatically, but hey, one step at a time...

Auto updating is one of the projects I would love to work. But as you said, one step at a time. Wink

"Cold Wallet: for now you can use any paper wallet with the Primecoin settings"

https://walletgenerator.net/?culture=en&currency=primecoin#
This is adequate ??

iirc the ANC (Anoncoin) addresses will work for this coin as well.

Bryce emailed moments ago to say:

"Everything is merged, including the windows build fix.
You can say 'It's all done.'"

That is very good news.

I have decided to bite the bullet and learn how to do damned gitian builds, so when things like this happen again we linux geeks won't be the only ones with working code.
1448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Miners Update to 0.10 on: May 15, 2015, 02:53:08 PM
I just got an email notification that BW did indeed merge the fix that was posted yesterday, so there is that.
1449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Miners Update to 0.10 on: May 15, 2015, 09:37:54 AM
I was frustrated myself a few days ago because of technical problems with the wallet, but even if I hadn't found a fix for my situation I still would not have gotten angry with the devs, etc. and launched into rants like many are wont to do. UNO is a rare currency, so even by hodling it I am ok. I figured my best bet was to take the energy I would spend complaining and apply it to research and trying things on my own.

This community has stated many times that "no one is in charge" and that's good. Don't like the current state of UNO development? It is open-source software, feel free to fork it and fix the problems to your liking!

[/end rant]

Off the top of my head, either db corruption or memory allocation issue. I will research this more IMZ.

Windows 9.5.0 thermoremant.  I downloaded two (remember 3 pcs), one from website, one from ANN link.  Did not copy blockchain between PCs and recovered from backup the wallet.dat on one. I don't fully understand the blockchain report since it shows two addresses but assume one is for miner reward since it's much less.

Therein lies your problem. The 9.5.0 version is no longer working, you must use the new version on the official website.
1452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Miners Update to 0.10 on: May 15, 2015, 01:40:41 AM
Thank you.  But can we assume that I reloaded the qt meaning, downloaded the latest version (not the beta) and that I deleted all appdata except for the wallet and downloaded the current blockchain... and double confirmed the correct address on 3 computers.  Bittrex confirms TX.  Quite simply, it's either Bittrex or the blockchain.

Hey dev or someone... Bittrex TxId: 4a827eb942616a5ca801204c96f84fd167e8ed0f1d19a2c1ecaf47d009a09e04
Explorer at Chainz shows "not yet redeemed", reloaded qt and blockchain on three PCs.
No show in wallet, anybody?
What version of the wallet are you using?

The blockchain? Looks good here: http://insight-uno.cryptap.us/tx/4a827eb942616a5ca801204c96f84fd167e8ed0f1d19a2c1ecaf47d009a09e04

Yes it does, still not in my wallet.

Then I am afraid you need to supply a little more information. Perhaps you could tell us if you are using Windows or Linux? You said you downloaded the "latest" version, is it the release posted on the website?

The blockchain certainly isn't the issue, so unless the addresses in the block explorer aren't yours then perhaps it was sent to the wrong address from Bittrex?

@ Siameze: the situation is slowly improving. Reputation is everything. Within two or three years, the Guild will be a trusted institution of the crypto world, know for its bench depth of talent and its honesty.

@ paper wallets/security: wow! Ian and I are learning by the minute: redundancy, acid-proof paper ('Linux USB distro'?). And thanks to Siameze, who is  going to teach me Keybase.

Mark (IndiaMikeZulu), Australia

Good to see you back IMZ, hope you and our UNO mascot are doing well.

I think I posted a brief mention about a linux USB distro on the guild. I may make a separate thread with instructions if I garner enough interest. FallingKnife was interested in compiling for Ubuntu, and since it is a bit more user-friendly than my distro I will probably go with that.

Now, about the code. Does anyone know if there a reason why BW won't implement the fix in git? If not, I think forking it & applying the fix is the best option, as PatMan suggested, as it has been too long a delay already & is only putting people off the coin.
I can do this shortly. I'll post a link to the git repository when done.

Let me thank you in advance. I have been up to my eyeballs in work today, updating slush's mining proxy for a few clients and busting a filthy bitcoin theif in another thread.
How many did the thief get?

I have no clue tbh, I happened upon his thread where he was selling a "bitcoin stealer" and offering to sell emails for scam sites. He decided to be cute and post that I purchased said software to my trust profile. Unfortunately for him, a quick whois reveals he uses the same hosting as a hackerspace where I am a member. Presented this info to their support team, which resulted in him having no home for his scummy software tonight.

Hey, guys. Watch the tone please.  No need to make it personal.

I get what Patman's saying. He'll have to do better than that to offend me, but I don't even think he was trying.   He just needs to get his equipment running, and is voicing what many of you are feeling.. I get it.

I'm passing comments on to BW, so if he's not reading them here he's getting them by email.  I know there's concern that official wallets have not been released yet. I'm not thrilled about it either, and I don't have all the answers. Thanks to 8bitcoder for the stopgap Windows wallet. That helped the network a lot, but we're not done.

I'm looking for someone to compile the Mac wallets. If you know someone trustworthy, please pm me and I'll reach out. I'd offer a modest bounty to the right person.

Yes, the time of all this could have been done better.  I'm doing what I can with what I have, and like you all I'm trying to help when I think I have the answers.

I believe Uno is headed in the right direction, and am working to help clear these rocks off the road. I'm here long term, no matter what, and responding to all PM's.

I regret I do not posess any skills when it comes to building windows/mac wallets. Could probably do the gitian thing but it feels sloppy to me. I never even use precompiled linux binaries, I prefer to build my own.

1459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Miners Update to 0.10 on: May 14, 2015, 06:32:04 PM
Did you tell them it doesn't work - or did they implement the fix themselves?

It's getting boring waiting for this to be fixed, really. How about it?

Is Falling Knife, selfless volunteer in this community, your bitch or your nigger?  Because from your tone, I am not quite sure.

Can I get you another Mint Julep Master?  You be lookin mighty parched.  I will go out and turn another trick so you can put another gold tooth in that pretty mouth of yours.

Hey @Patman:  FUCK YOU, you condescending worthless cunt.

I have to say Gekko, my favourite response of the day.

I am of a mind to upload the fix file here so whoever wants it can add it to source and compile, since I don't have access to the github.
1460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOON] Mooncoin: You know where it's headed! KGW exploit FIXED 4/3/2014 on: May 14, 2015, 01:16:26 PM
where can i download wallet for windows?
Have a look at http://mooncoin.com or http://mooncoin.rocks.
Currently these 2 sites are official Mooncoin sites.
But you will need to add nodes manually via wallet Console, as a wallet is yet not up to date.
Nodes are here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=389403.msg9593330#msg9593330

Is there currently no active developer for mooncoin? I was just curious ...

By a word 'currently' we mean 'since an original dev deaconboogie has dissappeared'.
Almost an year ago. That's why his site mooncoin.info is offline.

It was an announcement on November, 6 2014:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=389403.msg9456299#msg9456299
A person, who has posted it, coinflow, is our developer, and he is active.

It was an announcement on August, 26 2014
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=389403.msg8540168#msg8540168
A person, who has posted it, peme, is our developer, too.
He has reported some health problems and is not too communicative this time.

Other persons are volunteers who help our developers.

Yes, the I remember no one could locate deaconboogie on reddit, so  time I really checked on MOON was a year ago I think. I have a friend that mined some from release, afaik he is still hodling.

Members are welcome to contact me for any linux-related issues and I'll try to help. I can't be of much help in the Windows/Mac domain sorry.
