Ok,
to sum up,
no segmentation and no marketing plan for adoption?
"let them come to us"...

It's also nice to have a coin that isn't screaming "look at me" all the time.

Don't forget the bullion connection as IMZ said. That's the attractive part.

Thanks for being such a great signature campaign, have had pleasure of earning some coins while posting.

This is by far the smoothest one I have participated in. BitMixer's service is also excellent.
1343  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [SALE!] Unobtanium Pure Silver Wallet - Plated available on: June 02, 2015, 07:03:20 PM
@ bigtimespaghetti

Any updates on the silver bars? I look forward to this next batch, and will also alert another friend of mine in the silverbug community. Thanks!

Hi siameze! I will be following up on the holograms this week. Saturday at the latest. I have a particularly heavy deadline to meet at work right now, so again apologies for the delays!

No worries mate! Take care of irl stuff first, your loyal customers are always here. Smiley

Quality products are always worth the wait.

1345  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Tomatocage if you remove Quickseller from your Trust I will pay you 2 BTC on: June 02, 2015, 04:14:46 PM
That's quite an offer just to remove someone from default trust. How does it matter anyway? If you don't trust someone on default trust list, add a tilde ~ before their name in your settings. Problem solved.

Unless of course this is just an ego thing, my mind is still boggled.

Well I can cross scrambling to find Windows solutions for everyone off my list. Back to linux my love, that no one cares about. Cheesy

woo-hoo! congrats garmin a dice game finally! Seems it is so hard to find legit games for cryptos or developers that don't backdoor everything. But anyways, enjoy!

Slot machine next? =)

We can hope. I wouldn't mind having a whole HAM casino eventually. The blackjack would have been great if it had worked properly :/

@ bitcreditscc I spoke with coinpr0n and he said the project looks interesting. I linked him here so hopefully he will be in touch.
1350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We're getting married! We're going to record it on the blockchain! on: May 31, 2015, 11:22:04 PM
Congratulations OP, and I will definitely give the article a read later!

Stateless weddings and contracts in general are going to be the future, IMHO. Although I am divorced and have no desire to remarry, if and when I do this is the way I would pursue it.
1351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gregory Maxwell threatens to sell his bitcoins and find other things to work on on: May 31, 2015, 11:08:23 PM
Increasing the block size is the most simple change, lightning network and side chain just sounds too complicated to be easily maintained, raised level of complexity is the worst enemy for long term sustainability

You take it for granted that a change is needed now, but that's not true: https://medium.com/@allenpiscitello/there-is-no-crisis-20b58e14b09c

Decentralization is much more important than microtransactions, because the former is the foundation of value for Bitcoin.

Thanks for the link to that article, I shared it with a friend that need a dose of objectivity and not the normal reddit echo-chamber nonsense.

@ MichaelNZ

The wallet won't fully sync because the newer wallet version is a fork, and as far as I know there isn't a 32-bit Windows version yet. Sad

EDIT: The only temporary solution that I know off the top of my head is to run a 64-bit VMware image or similar, and honestly that isn't a great solution. :/
1353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gregory Maxwell threatens to sell his bitcoins and find other things to work on on: May 31, 2015, 09:13:44 PM
Yes. Changing to something like "if Bitcoin-XT is adopted, Gregory Maxwell will find other things to work on" or something. The current title is misleading IMHO.
Have you not read his post? Are you having trouble understanding ti?
Quote
If the Bitcoin community wants to go commit suicide, I'm confident that I can sell my most of my bitcoins before most of the public has realized things have gone wrong. ...
Changing the title to anything else would be misleading. The title is correct, as Maxwell has exactly stated that he will sell out and find other things to work on if we follow the path of Bitcoin XT.
The situation is terrible right now.

I am not sure English is his (Muhammed's)  first language and perhaps he lacks understanding. Op also did quote a source which anyone can check for themselves.

The situation is indeed bleak. I am still unsure how this will all play out, but hopefully all involved can come to a resolution to this issue. Personal pride should be put aside or the greater good of the community.

I am prepared for all contingencies. I built the competing codebase here: http://thebitcoin.foundation/index.html and it is beautiful, clean code for what it is. This new "BitcoinXT" not so much.

This is the puritan MP foundation, right?
Are you associated with MP?

No, not "associated" with MP though I do find #bitcoin-assets to be quite entertaining.

Can you define what you mean by "entertaining?"

Some things can't be explained, they must be experienced.

slightly off top - more shite from the OKCoin debacle.

http://np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/37u6ca/okcoins_response_to_czs_lies_and_desperate/

it just gets worse & worse (and everyone else is to brame)

apologies for brief derailment!
There's an easy solution, just buy Unobtanium...

i dont see that as a solution.

especially if we're actively chasing the chinese 'market'

the same practices they have maintained wrt bitcoin (and i sincerely doubt OKCoin are alone) could be fatal to UNO/lesser alts and may well seriously harm us all - not that theyll give a shit.

have you been keeping up with whats been going on?

@Edgar
Please give us a summary about what's going on with the asia markets as i have not been able to keep up with everything that's happening right now.

I'm on the Bitcoin fork thing and it does not look good for Bitcoin. Basically it falls apart and Gavin starts his own altcoin and tries to take down Bitcoin with his actions. The situation looks really grim right now for the Bitcoin community. This could crash hard. In case Bitcoin forks into two chains both chains will likely loose most if not all of their value. The dev team falls apart. There is a lot stuff going on right now. It is quite possible Bitcoin could see double digits this year thanks to Gavin.

Hi,

Any news on Windows 32 wallet? And an ignorant question: If I have my wallet on a 32-bit machine, the only machine I have, does this mean I have to wait for the 32 version before I can use it?

Thanks!

I haven't heard any word from anyone on a Win32 wallet unfortunately. Sad

Having a good development environment so I can build for all OS's is on my to-do list. I'm close to meeting my funding goal to buy an extra box to do it on, as I'd rather do builds on a dedicated machine that isn't used for anything else.

Thanks siameze. This isn't directed at you, and I might be missing something, but why the fuck would there not be an immediate update for a win32 wallet when there's a hard fork?

I honestly have no clue, I only recently got involved with UNO and my specialty is mainly unix. The events of the fork to MM got me thinking it might be a good idea for me to learn how to build cross-platform so everyone has what they need. I'm not a fan of leaving anyone in the userbase struggling during updates.

EDIT: Just got off the phone with a friend who will kindly sell me a Windows lappy for the low price of 0.5 BTC. Stay tuned.

Mircea Popescu will crush the rebellion with his stripped-down death star client.
