I need an updated list of nodes and the clients they are running, for data purposes. If no one has one already I'll throw it up a gist and make it auto update.

Plenty of cheap UNO on the guild to get you started too. I wish they had a feed tho :/

Yeah I was kinda sure most users just load up the prebuilt stuff. If I ever get a separate box to do gitian builds on I might be able to make some tweaks.

I like seeing the flask instead of the yellow icon though. One day when I am bored I may try and make it all look sexier:

The general consensus regarding the UI here is correct however, a few tweaks could be made for those that use a GUI. I use cli and/or a node wallet so it isn't a deal breaker for me.

It's just a cosmetic thing and not that urgent but would be nice to get fixed.

Also majority said 'black or blue logo' and it's yellow now.
If those yellow-fetishists want yellow at all costs they could at least provide an alternative wallet for people with a black/blue thing. Shouldn't be a big issue.

This isn't an option for those using prebuilt binaries, but you can put whatever icons you like in the /src/qt/res/icons/ then rebuild. I hated the yellow icon so I used the green flask instead (for the rare occasion I use QT).

Would be great if we could leave Uno as it is currently because it's pretty perfect now and will rise now very easy if you just leave it alone with this uncalled for shit. Jeezuz  Roll Eyes

As people are starting to realize in the BTC world: "If it isn't broke, why fix it?"

That's right. Rule of complex systems! Totally not a stupid rule to embrace for a moneyapplication with real money on the line.
This isn't Tetris afterall!

Not now and not by Bryce. Seriously. Even the discussion turns me off big time cuz we'd be ready to move up a decent notch if we were undisturbed by the neophiliacs with their half baked experiments. We haven't even got a good looking wallet right now. Sidechains aren't an option before it hasn't been shown on another coin. And Mr. "Bryce-i-pay-no-attention-to-details-and-generally-am-not-available-or-have-communication-with-the-community-and busy-on-scamcoins-Weiner" won't be doing it.
Total veto as long as there isn't a more reliable dev team and a proof of concept on another coin can be shown.
Again: even the discussion of it is uncalled for atm (proof on other coin first not just some testnet)

Let's let some of the 7 bazillion shitcoins figure it out first.

Any foray Uno takes in such territory need not be the first, it needs to be the most elegant attempt at resolving a genuine need.  Not just tech for tech's sake.  Let's watch and think first.

+100

Well UNO has BW, and now "cptchadd". All we need is one more scam dev for a trifecta.

Why can't this coin attract some honest and helpful developers? Sad
1328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITCREDIT | BANKNODES | P2P LENDING | CREDIT SYSTEM on: June 08, 2015, 09:33:46 PM

Yes, the sooner we leave toytown the better, but I really hope miners can see the benefit of spending money directly on the development of their assets instead of giving it to the power company.

And don't forget, BCR will be backed by that money.

If 'Coin' type names were still in vogue I'd suggest 'ParadimeTM', and Paradime ShiftTM' for the fiat bridge.  Cheesy

edit: if we can somehow get the goldbugs and silverstackers on board too... maybe maintain some of the backing in PMs? The Chinese / Indians / Russians love their shiny...

I got on board with Unobtanium because they are issuing a NXT asset for verification of the amount of precious metals one holds. If there is a "built-in" asset for that sort of thing, so much the better. Smiley

Same here, been flawless for me since the patch, even the code I have ripped apart for my personal client.

What are you selling for?
1332  Other / Meta / Re: Automated spammy posts on: June 08, 2015, 09:51:36 AM
All handled, not going to delete the posts though, too tedious and time consuming.

It's weird that the forum doesn't ban these users nor the signature campaign removing them from the campaign..

It's a bit harder when it comes to foreign languages.

It's not that hard to notice spam..

I noticed those too, I was in the Chinese section doing research for Unobtanium. I just assumed the moderator of that board was no longer active. As BadBear said, foreign language boards are more difficult. It's nice to have Mitchell in the Dutch section, for example.
1333  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [SALE!] Unobtanium Pure Silver Wallet - Plated available on: June 08, 2015, 09:25:38 AM
To those that responded in regards to the plated versions: Let me assure you that even the plated versions are every bit as beautiful as the pure silver ones. They would make a nice addition to a collection for someone getting started. Holograms are great quality too.
1334  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: June 07, 2015, 02:44:09 PM
Rape and sex at will is different. Also the exact age is unknown, however, it is said to be between 9 amd 12. It is also known that sex was after she reached puberty. Please don't mix rape here.

Now you're just being an apologist and you are also ignoring the commonly accepted fact in Islam that he married Aisha when she was 6 years old and had sex with her at 9.

That it has to be said he waited until she was 9 years old before he 'consummated' the marriage, as though that somehow makes it any less repugnant, is still a tacit acknowledgement that he is a child rapist.

An adult having sex with a child is raping them because a child is incapable of informed consent, even if a child has been conditioned to believe that it is something they want to happen it is still an adult abusing their position of trust to care for and nurture a child in order to satisfy their own selfish and grotesque sexual urges.

Child rape is about power and control and no sexual act by an adult to a child can be described as anything else other than a gross abuse of the significant power the adult has over a child.

Stop trying to down-play the reality that your religion celebrates a middle-aged man who had sex with a little girl who was 9 years old.
Stop trying to down-play the reality that your religion celebrates a middle-aged man who had sex with a little girl who was 9 years old.

There, I have written it twice so you know not to simply ignore what I am saying to you. A hand-wavy, "yeah, well, she was probably at least 11 or 12 so, you know, totallyokbecausehewastheultimateprophetright?

You are missing two points

 - Sex is not rape if it both is willing to do.
 - A human is a child when he/she is under the age puberty. Once a female child is mature, she can give birth to a child. I understand you are talking in general but it is not a fact.

You are missing one point here: You cannot consent to sex if you do not have the mental capacity to do so, and if you cannot consent, it is rape. It seems the only people who believe that a 12 year old (and I'm using the highest age range to give you the maximum benefit of the doubt) can consent are Muslims. It has nothing to do with physical characteristics, so puberty is irrelevant. Knowing what we know now about cognitive development, nobody today can make a credible case that a 12 year old has the mental capacity to consent to sex. You cannot defend this, the more you try the more Islam looks like a backwards religion. You're unwilling to admit that 1500 years ago, your prophet did things that are unacceptable today. You're stuck trying to justify it, and you're only point (that she reached puberty) is irrelevant. The longer Islam tries to justify child rape, the longer it will be rightly viewed as being stuck in the dark ages.

What I am saying is that *all* girls who reached puberty aren't the same. Some girls' can mature at that time and some don't. It doesn't mean *all*. 'Aisha has shown characteristics of a matured girl and prophet won't be a pedophile because of many reasons.

I would clarify, attitudes toward children have changed over the millennia.  Just one example, consider ancient Greeks and young boys and sex.    But we're not going to go and defend ancient wrong ideas today.  That's just plain stupid.

What about same-sex marriage? Is not that stupid?

Daniel having trouble translating word "unobtanium".

Don't translate "Unobtanium". They can read latin letters too, can't they?

...wait ... found this: http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/難得素

so the correct translation is: 難得素

 Cool

The chinese are going to love it.  Smiley

Oh look, we also have an entry in the english wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unobtainium#In_real_life

Well that ws a very nice find gustav. Smiley

@pools

I think slush and others will add it all by themselves when price is higher. They want to stay competitive with other pools (who do offer it and maximize payouts to their miners with it) afterall.
Higher price = more pool support = higher hashrate  Wink

I still speak with cex almost every week, since I still have hardware there. They seem interested, but have been very busy with the next-gen upgrades to their site. When the Chinese translation is accomplished, I will send another letter. MM is the only profitable thing on cex besides trading. Having UNO in the payout section will just sweeten their offerrings.

I had pledged 1 UNO to this project several pages back. If target is reached I will hodl until next fundraiser.

A donation to 8bitcoder is in order as well. Very competent developer.

- What reasons will the newbies have to join this community and not a more little one?

newbies probably won't come here.  they'll follow the pied piper on a journey through their exciting little coin when a month feels like a year.   then the pied piper take a turn into a dark alley, pulls out his dick, and rapes the lil newbs for all their $$$.  these newbs either:

1) run away crying, never to return
2) learn their hard fought lessons, do some research, and find out that UNO is the real deal
3) pick up a flute and start raping newbs with shitcoins

this community is what gives value to Unobtanium.  every person who joins adds a little more value.  we are also all very patient people and are happy to continue acquiring UNO for under $5/kg
