481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Conditions of bounty campaigns these days on: March 07, 2022, 10:58:25 AM
I believe that it is more like the same situation. We have had bounties back in the years that didn't pay after the campaign was completed and now we still have some Bounty campaigns that still don't pay after work is done.  Asking for KYC is now the biggest scam in the bounty campaign space that was not specified before the campaign because they know most will not participate in that campaign not because the hunters want to scam you but because they don't want to give their info which the projects is now forcing them to do to get their pay.
I guess the matter is subjective because some people pick and choose the campaign we participate in.
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin - a joke or a way to make money? on: March 07, 2022, 10:48:09 AM
Everybody knows that Dogecoin was created as a joke, but now it is worth real money. Do you think it is real to earn on it or it's all a big bubble?

Dogecoin price is currently holding $0.11 even though many other coins have fallen, it seems Dogecoin is holding up for a while if we look at the previous price.

I'm sure that now doge is no longer a coin at the meme level, doge has become a coin sultan from the crypto circle, in my view doge is indeed a coin to make money.

Yes, Dogecoin is currently trading @ around $0.11 and what was the price it is falling from if you claim many other coins have fallen? Doesn't it look like it is continually falling in price to you when you look at the price chart on a daily basis? No question that Dogecoin has been around for a while but it is still a meme coin regardless of whether you are going to make money from it or not cos that is not a criterion for not being a meme coin or being a meme coin.
483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and her sisters: Why do most governments hate her? on: March 07, 2022, 10:29:49 AM
The real reasons why governments hate crypto like bitcoin because they cannot make enough money by collecting taxes. Since it is decentralized, means no one owns and controlled. If there is no demand for their currency and people are hypothetically buying crypto then those governments/countries will go bankrupt.
I will agree with your argument there because we understand that if the government wasn't against Bitcoin in most countries, most if not all will have their funds in crypto assets instead of fiat banks however we can also note that because most of our daily needs still cannot be bought directly with BTCs we might still end up using Fiat currencies in most cases.
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Impact of Ukrain Bitcoin Donation and Support. on: March 07, 2022, 10:09:20 AM
Not sure that I would call it adoption but it surely gave Bitcoin A LOT of publicity in terms of being a currency/asset that requires zero permission. It's just unfortunate that a lot of people had to realize it only when in times like this — like they had to literally see it with their own eyes instead of just realizing it through studying it.
I definitely agree with you. I understand most people believe that because of the Ukrain Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency donations, there has been mass adoption to cryptocurrency and Bitcoin especially, what happens if most of the donations were from people that are already in the crypto space? which is possible. And as you said, creating awareness for Bitcoin/cryptos is a big one, and true that people would have seen how Bitcoin can easily move across borders without restrictions, and most also say that, regardless of how they know, let them know  Smiley
485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Ukraine war on: March 07, 2022, 09:46:23 AM
The bitcoin market has also been affected by growing concerns about Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
But Bitcoin has been falling in the last 24 hours and is currently trading at around $ 37,794.
But the oil situation is quite the opposite. Just look at the price of oil and realize that this war has had a huge impact on the price of oil and safe-haven assets like gold.

But what is the reason for this?

In my opinion, because of the war, most people avoid high-risk assets such as bitcoin and other digital currencies!
+How many wars have Bitcoin experienced so far?
-Nothing
So it is natural that most people, because they do not know the reaction of bitcoin, turn to other assets such as gold and oil. The escalation of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia will also cause more fear among investors.

First of all, I will say that Bitcoin is not the same as oil in the sense that, oil is consumed differently than Bitcoin and this is global which is not the same with Bitcoin hence the reason while you will see the price hike like you see because Russia is a major producer and exporter of oil.

Secondly, I don't think that this Russian Invasion of Ukraine is really affecting the price of Bitcoin as most are saying. Please take time to look at the price in a bigger time frame instead of hourly or minutes.

From the SS, since Russia Invaded Ukrain on the 24 Feb 2022, which is highlighted in Yellow square, Can you really see any warlike significant price difference from the past days/weeks before Feb 24 Invasion days to today? Square highlight in green.
Bitcoins price came up to 45K+ around Feb 10, 2022, and did the same on March 02, 2022, so again, is there any significant change as with the war effect?

Now, that is the effect of war on price

486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance is refusing to block Russian customer's crypto wallets. on: March 06, 2022, 07:29:20 AM
They do not want to "block" Russian customers wallets, but they are quick to block Nigerian wallets... right? See this article and see if this is fair or not? ==> https://techcabal.com/2022/01/31/30-scam-70-kyc-why-binance-blocked-over-200-nigerian-accounts/

They know that the Russians are pushing through a lot of trading fees at this moment, so Binance are making money like crazy now.. so it is not a question on morals or principle.... but rather about profits.  Roll Eyes
I believe you must have read this article yourself and seen the difference between the Nigerian blocked accounts and what the situation is with the Russian traders. If you are using Binance and know you have to complete KYC yet didn't and still want to get those services then I think that is justified plus a law enforcement request. Even though I am not in support of the Russian Government's move on Ukrain, traders from Russia shouldn't be the ones receiving all the hits from all these sanctions cos we know they will feel it the most so it's a thoughtful move by Binance.
487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying with Bitcoin where there's rush on: March 06, 2022, 07:15:21 AM
Some of those mall, or human necessity services do not know how Crypto-currency, or are overwhelmingly scared to try it. There was a news of this guy in my location he owns a night club and some group of guys patronized him, and consumed huge amount of drink and they where insisting on paying with Bitcoin, what ever is it they did I am suspecting cancellation of transaction, the owner of the club who so an incoming transaction couldn't wait for confirmation before letting them off had a great loss because the crypto never reflected the gravity of this story has caused many to complete remove it from their thoughts

Bitcoin is used for crime and it'll scare a lot of people away from accepting bitcoin just like the teenager Op called out that got a negative response. Actions like the one stated in your story won't help the adoption of bitcoin globally. And they had the money in BTC but, they deceived the vendor because he can't wait and if they were allowed to wait they will order more drinks. I don't know the level of the Vendor in crypto but, he would have suggested that they sell the bitcoin to a vendor that will send fiat to his Bank account.
I quite agree with you here but I will say that the club owner should have insisted that the guys wait until the transaction is complete since they were the ones that insisted on paying with bitcoin even if it takes 24hrs Grin Why would more businesses want to accept bitcoin with this type of news when the people in the system are the ones sabotaging its adoption.
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Centralised Exchanges are the Biggest Enemies of Bitcoin on: March 06, 2022, 06:57:34 AM
Ahhh, don't overthink it. Even though I understand what you are saying but I don't think CEXs are such an enemy as you say. How many DEXs were there when Crypto/Bitcoin started? I agree as others have pointed that CEX have their downsides however everyone in the system doesn't feel the same with some of these issues and don't have any problem with KYC and even taxes as long as they can trade their crypto assets.
489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: According to Bill Miller, the collapse of Russia's currency is good for Bitcoin on: March 04, 2022, 05:37:05 PM
I can't find any information in English to give you a better understanding, but I think with the help of an interpreter you can read Russia's sentiment towards bitcoin.
Despite the sanctions that Russia has received from the world, the central bank's attitude towards bitcoin has not changed.

https://www.interfax.ru/business/826014
https://forklog.com/tsb-rf-ne-smyagchil-otnoshenie-k-bitkoinu-na-fone-sanktsij/

First link from Google Translate and I believe this part was very clear "The use of digital currencies as a means of payment on the territory of the Russian Federation will continue to be prohibited."

And quote from second link
Quote
The Bank of Russia still advocates a complete ban on the circulation and mining of cryptocurrencies.

I see what you are saying, So, all this still clearly shows that Russia might not be anywhere near that approval or adoption yet.

490  Other / Politics & Society / Re: One side donations for two country crisis's on: March 04, 2022, 05:17:34 PM
The war between Ukraine and Russia is well known to all countries and many countries and exchanges is donating funds to Ukraine for invasion of Ukraine and Russia, i want to know why support of fundraising donation is going to Ukraine alone and nobody mention Russian for donations, i being going through the post no thread of Russian donation, i want to know  if Russian dont need support, is not that i have side or I'm so passionate to.

This is rightful link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5387586.msg59378382#msg59378382 of Ukraine funds donation wallet and below is the wallet from DaveF thread.

I need suggestion why Russian is not having fundraising

Shocked Are you saying you don't know who started this war and who is invading who? is the country Russia losing life and properties like the Ukrain country is experiencing? If Russia believes they too deserve some crypto donation they too can ask for help Grin but I am sure they will not get one, at least not from most of the world that is.
491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is going up during war? on: March 03, 2022, 08:50:46 AM
Maybe it is to help supply the Ukrainians with everything including crypto. 2nd reason is because other people are giving Ukrainians bitcoin so they can go buy some weapons and the reason why this is because people can afford more weapons and have extra money. If bitcoin did not go up, then their weapons would be a bit less.
So clearly you are saying the sudden increase in the Bitcoin price is clear manipulation. We understand that the price dropped which most believe was an emotional reaction mainly from wall street traders which we know are now treating Bitcoin investment like other financial instruments however I believe that they realized that Bitcoin is not what they thought and hence we see a price reversal unlike what is happening to Russian Ruble which is a clear sign of Impact from the consequences of the war.
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia's approval of BTC on: March 03, 2022, 08:30:43 AM
Ukraine also suddenly legalized cryptocurrencies a few days ago. The Ukrainian parliament had declared that all crypto assets will be treated legally after a new bill passed. The new law was met with approval after 272 votes vote “for”.
I can't help but thing that both sides of the conflict did so at least partially because of the conflict.
Of cause but hopefully, they will continue to support the use of cryptocurrencies long after this war is ended. This is no surprise as it is easier now to use crypto or receive donations by crypto rather than fiat money as we have seen since most of the banks are not working or have been destroyed, so this is why I said hopefully they remember how useful crypto was during this hard times for their country.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine Will Airdrop NFT in Exchange for Donation on: March 02, 2022, 11:36:04 AM
I get that they were just doing this "airdrop" to try and get everyone in crypto-space to donate but it feels kinda weird to me.
But hey, as long as this helps them to gather more donations, why not. Although I think it would be cool to have an NFT that shows you supported Ukraine in their times of need kinda like a badge. I wonder which chain they would do the airdrop though?
I am not so sure that they are doing this to get everyone in the crypto space to donate besides even with the announcement of the airdrop, I don't think people will donate just because of that besides, people have been donating before the airdrop announcement.
I believe while some people are also doubting if this is genuine or not, there should be some form or someone in charge of that media to clarify that too however I believe they want to appreciate the donation if it turns out genuine.
494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This Ukraine issue has me thinking a lot. In a crisis, how valuable is bitcoin? on: March 02, 2022, 10:53:26 AM
Think of this way. Every has a net-worth it could be in real estate, stocks, and fiat. You can't take any of them with you when you flee the country and you can't use them elsewhere. The economy is also falling so the value of all of them is also falling. Things such as gold are also extremely hard to carry around and in war time when crime is at its peak you may suddenly become a target if you are driving a car filled with gold bars!!

Now consider bitcoin, it doesn't take any space. It could be carried around on a piece of paper or tattooed on a part of your body that nobody sees! or even memorized for worse case scenario. You can carry any amount of it as you want whether it is 1 satoshi or 1000 bitcoin and it takes the same effort. It can be used elsewhere and its price is not affected by the internal conflict.

This makes bitcoin even more valuable than normal times.
Quite correct but I still want to clarify one thing. Say you leave the country where the war is raging to another country where you still could trade your Bitcoin and that would go into your fiat account and for people like the Russian citizens for example that might need cash, even if they are able to somehow sell some part of their Bitcoin into fiat and with the financial blockage the country is facing with the world, how would that person be able to use the fiat in their account if their banks have been cut off from the international banking system? Cos as we all know, not all Russians are in support of the war and some might want to go through this process we are talking about.
495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance is refusing to block Russian customer's crypto wallets. on: March 02, 2022, 10:22:35 AM
Source: https://www.cnbc.com/2022/02/28/binance-will-not-block-russian-accounts-after-ukraine-request.html

Binance is refusing to lock account belonging to Russian customer's, what is your take on this? I believe that this might be a better move due to Russian Citizens that don't desire war still being able to move their Roubles to crypto for safe storage.
I think this is another great move by Binance because even though we understand that the exchange in question is centralized but the crypto ecosystem ought to be decentralized and if Binance had gone ahead to comply with that it would bring a whole new disadvantage to the system even though I also read in one of the Treadview news days ago, unfortunately, I can't locate that link about this and Kraken exchange too also rejected this blockage because most of the owners ain't relly the Government people.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you regret when you miss selling at ATH followed by a correction on: March 01, 2022, 08:48:39 AM
It often become a good opportunity when you sell at a peak and after that the correction come and you buy again with low price but many people miss that opportunity who then regret but I do not regret when I miss that opportunity because I do not do greed and remain satisfied with my current amount of coins and I know in the future the price will grow again to another ATH and my current coins are enough to give me enough profit. With this thought I keep myself tension free.

What is your views and conditions at that time?
I believe that basically that it firstly depends on your investment intension. If your intention for investm=ing in the coins that you have invested in was for a longer time then missing selling at a present ATH shouldn't mean much cos like you said, your investment is for a longer period and there will definitely be another ATH and besides, you cannot always catch the top and bottom price but as long as you are in profits, you are ok.
497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To what extent are Russians capable of storing their riches in Bitcoin? on: March 01, 2022, 08:36:31 AM
However, is this even possible? What would a Russian do in this situation? Are they able to just transfer their Rubles to exchange, purchase Bitcoin, and then transfer it to a wallet?

Since Russia banks are out of SWIFT, Russians will not be able to transfer their rubles to most of the exchanges, hence I think that they don't have much of other choices than finding other individuals inside Russia willing to sell Bitcoin for RUR.

While they can't use most centralized exchange, their option isn't that limited. They still can rely on decentralized website and P2P/OTC medium such as Bisq and HodlHodl to find Bitcoin seller though.
it is kinda dicey. With the free fall of the Russian Ruble, who will really want to sell their Bitcoin for RUB when others are trying to sell out of the RUB Huh because that is the currency they are holding to trade with. I think if this has not been done already, regardless of the options they have via these DEXs it will be deficult.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Bitcoin, You'll Thank Me Later - Mexican Billionaire Says on: February 28, 2022, 01:56:34 PM
Yeah, it is nice to see such kind of statement or endorsement if I may use that because some people still believe they need this kind of statement from such kind of people before they have the confidence to invest. Anybody that has been in the Crypto space for a bit would have understood that times like this when the price is down are a good opportunity to buy and accumulate some more Bitcoin even without anyone's endorsement.
499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is now a good time to be investing in Bitcoin? on: February 28, 2022, 12:30:52 PM
Hi everyone I was wondering if the overall Russian-Ukraine situation in Bitcoin is now pretty low, will it soar if the whole war is resolved again? What is your opinion? Thank you.
For me, I believe it will, and if I had extra funds I am certainly investing some more in Bitcoin with the price it is now because we have seen much time before how Bitcoin bounces back from even lower prices than this, and I far as I am concern, Bitcoin is the only asset for long-term investment, so just in case this Russia-Ukrian issue drags out.
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I was tempted to sell off altcoin on: February 28, 2022, 12:22:50 PM
Crypto winter is coming, even vitalik buterin confirmed this, I've sold most of my altcoins in Nov/Dec 2021 because i have understood how crypto works every market works seasonally and there is nothing that can stop bear market, if you are still in profit right now I suggest you start changing them to stable coin.
I agree that that is one of the points, "If you are still in profit" and also for me, it depends on what Alts you are holding. If you believe and have a bit of assurance that these Altcoins are good to bounce back, I'd suggest you continue hodling still the market recover cos you might sell now nd the market rebounds hard but if these Alts were initially for higher risk profits, then cut your loss cos some might not make it back if the market happens to go way lower.
