501  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Religion in our society on: February 10, 2022, 07:49:45 PM
why can't religion reduce the rate of crimes in our society?
Religion: I believe religion is a practice that teaches ways of good conducts and we all tend to found ourselves in a religion. I'm so sure all religion talks about good that leads man to the right track, correction from evil, love for one another, peace. But we still come across killings and all sort of different crimes in our society. If the society should practice our individual religion which they tend to belong, i feel the world would be a better place for mankind
I think the part I've highlighted in red may be significant.
Many people are born into a religion, they don't actively choose that religion, it just happens to them.
Whereas people who are born into a non-religious family, who choose a religion later, are actively selecting that religion.
Perhaps people in the second scenario are more likely to try to follow the teachings of that religion?

Actually, the main basis of religion is faith. Where there is no faith, there is no religious consciousness. Whether it is through the family to enter into religious education or even from an atheist family if one comes on his/her own initiative he has to keep faith in religion.

The person who is enlightened in the light of religion from an atheist family basically tries hard to know the issues of religion, to study them. Because those of us who come from religious backgrounds know almost everything. But those who follow the path of religion on their own initiative have a lot of unknown things which they intend to know more about.

Most religious people do not know what planet are they on.

Where is heaven?  Where is hell? 'Metaphysical' I bet, lol.

Religious people know diddly squat.

I can see you are buying most of the Russian arguments. They have no intention to invade, they are just positioning troops in excess of 100k men and plenty of weaponry intended only for offensive use, to protect Russian territory. Protect from what?? There are no troops in Ukraine that could threaten Russia in any manner and the west is not even considering going to war. Second, Crimea was not a territory in contest, it was Ukrainian and Russia invaded and took control of it.

I am happy to discuss reasonable arguments, but, on this case, the insincerity is just absurd.

+1

It is not about the 'protection' of Russia.

Soviets want their territories back.  That is what is all about.

Putin wants to control the former Warsaw Pact countries.

His ultimate goal is to re-establish the Soviet empire, with him as beloved (and feared), the supreme leader.

He has some serious mental problems.
503  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia Declares it is ready for war with American and European countries on: February 02, 2022, 05:02:41 PM
Do you think there will be a potential war on the Crimean peninsula which is a seizure zone? and what is the impact on the political stability of countries in Europe, America and Russia that do not want to interfere in this dispute? Your feedback is very valuable.
Yes, this is very likely. Especially with someone who has been wrong on every foreign policy issue over the last 40 years as president in the US. I can all but guarantee that this would not be happening today if Trump was president.

NATO was intended to deter Russian aggression toward Europe, and even though Ukraine is not part of NATO, invading Ukraine is a signal to NATO that eastern NATO nations are next. Unfortunately, the US has effectively been subsidizing European defense since during WW2, and NATO members other than the US are not serious about defending NATO.

As it stands, now Russia would suffer major losses in invading Ukraine, even if NATO and/or the US does not get involved. The people of Ukraine are against being invaded by Russia and the US, under the Trump administration had fairly decently armed Ukraine. So even if Russia does invade Ukraine, it is not a given that Putin survives politically (he is a dictator, but even dictators can only do so much and still stay in power).

Assuming Russia invades Ukraine, what happens next, will largely depend on Germany and the rest of Europe. If the Germans are willing to shut down the Nordstream pipeline and impose strong sanctions on Russia, I don't think Russia will advance past Ukraine. However, if Europe is unwilling to force Russia to pay economic penalities for an invasion, Russia will likely quickly expand Westward.

Thats because current American and German government are lefties that just dream about trading with Russia again.
Especially German, they do want to open Nordstream 2 Smiley

In Germany, the problem is that the communists did not die.

Case in point, Matthias Warnig, Stasi agent, who worked closely with KGB agent Putin and raised his daughters,
is the CEO of Nord Stream AG.

Communists infiltrated all levels of government and private business.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthias_Warnig
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_Vorontsova

Soviets never died. Socialism and Communism are very popular among young people in the West.
Thanks to Soviet propaganda, information war.

Putin and his cronies and their families should be penalized for creating this drama.

He has no business demanding anything from the Eastern European countries.

West should confiscate all assets of his cronies and their extended families, revoke their visas, citizenships.

Send them packing, back to Russia.

No more Western banking, schools, luxury products for you.  Next!

Putin's cronies would kill him in a New York minute.

He didn't demand anything from anyone until the US wants to invade Ukraine in the guise that they are protecting Ukraine from the Russian invasion. Ukraine President did tell Biden that THERE IS NO RUSSIAN INVASION https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10452249/Ukrainian-President-Volodymyr-Zelensky-told-Biden-tone-messaging-invasion.html

But their media keeps the lies creating panic. Its also the reason why NATO has been divided already. None in Europe supported the US to go to Ukraine in the pretense of protection. US just crossed the line and no European countries will support them anymore.

Western banking is just not useful anymore. it's from the time of the dinosaurs, it becomes obsolete since the time BTC was created and there's a Chinese payment system also that works the same way.

He already invaded Ukraine in the past.  He annexed Crimea.  He broke the Budapest Memorandum.  Russia is a rogue state.

Soviets (aka Russians) flexed their military muscles now because they want to interfere with NATO expansion.

Their 'demands' are laughable.  What gives them the right to demand from Romania or Bulgaria to withdraw NATO troops?

West should demand the Soviets remove their troops from Moldova, Belarus, Crimea, and Eastern Ukraine.

West is playing too nice with the Russians.

At this point I would not even discuss anything with these animals, just impose the sanctions, confiscate their assets, stop trading with them, block them off.  They can trade with China.  Putin can park his billions in Chinese banks.

We'll gonna have to look at it from afar. maybe just 10 steps back and see what the US had demanded from Russia. They wanted Russia to back away when they are just on their borders?  Russian troops have all the right to stay anywhere in their vicinity.

The 2014 incident had long been discussed already. There was even peace thereafter Russian intervene so why should they bring that up when there are already talks. If NATO has to intervene, it should have been that year 2014 as well but why now after almost a decade?

Ukraine is of no use to US but for a particular reason, it is to spark a war but EU countries are not supporting it. Germany, Belarus, Hungary, and more already expressed thier side. The only who supports NATO is Borris who wants sanctions lol, SWIFT is an old system. The Russians or Chinese doesn't need it anymore.

There will be no war that will happen and if anything, the west will isolate itself when European countries take sides with the east powers like Russia and China. They better take care of thier Build Better Back project quickly because it's an economic war that's happening and not military conflict.

The Russian army has no business being in Eastern Ukraine and in Crimea.  They need to take their soldiers, tanks, and missiles and go home.

They killed 14,000+ Ukrainians since they started this war.

The majority of Ukrainians do not want to be under Russian influence because of the oppression that Ukrainians suffered under the Soviet Union. Holodomor, followed by labor camps.

I am not sure what Putin is thinking.  Slavic Brothers my ass.  Eastern Europeans who lived under Russian rule hate their guts.

There will be no new war.  Ukraine will join NATO, clean up Eastern Ukraine, and his dream of restoring the Warsaw Pact will be dead.

Not only there will be a war in Ukraine, but there will also be war in all former Soviet satellite countries, i.e. WWIII.

The question is not if but when.  Putin already signaled that to the world.

People who think appeasing Putin will work have rocks for brains.

Nobody wants war, but with these Soviet leaders in charge, it is certain.

1938-1939 history is repeating itself.  Different actors, same outcome.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQ7x8odi-OU

PS. I bet Putin has plans not just for Europe, but for Latin/Central America and the rest of the world.
With Russian military bases in Mexico, you will be building that wall sooner rather than later, lol.

PPS. Soviets always maintained that Alaska Purchase was just a lease for 100/150 years, to be returned to Russia in 1966/ 2017.
So watch out for that headline one day.

509  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine on: January 25, 2022, 03:40:13 AM
Russia is doing what it wants. It took Crimea, made Belarus its puppet state, shot down a Malaysian passenger jet and blamed it on the Ukrainians, refused to give back Polish government plane that crashed in Smolensk, forced the US to cancel a deal with Poland that was supposed to place missile defense systems along its eastern border. Russian agents poisoned Sergei Skripal and his daughter, poisoned and then arrested Alexei Navalny. Putin and Lavrov often threaten other countries and lie in public. Russian elections are known to be a joke and in one of them there was so many fraudulent votes for Putin that the sum of votes shown on TV was over 100%.

I'm fairly certain that if they invade Ukraine, the UN, NATO and the EU will issue formal letters to Putin, maybe even call him, then do some reconnaissance flights, drop some aid packages, accept refugees and that's going to be it.

+1

I think the time to listen or negotiate with Russians is over.  They lie and break any agreements before the ink dries.

It is time for action.

But NATO is like a small barking dog trying to get attention from a big hungry bear.

I have to agree with you.  NATO will make some posturing moves, and not engage Russians.  Russians will take over Ukraine in no time.
The West will complain, but it will do nothing.  In 5-10 years, Russia will shift attention to former Warsaw pact countries, and NATO will withdraw from them (on the 'request' of 'democratically elected' pro-Russian governments) to avoid military conflict.  Trump already wanted to reduce American involvement in NATO.  So watch out if he is elected again. Russia will be running Europe and NATO will dissolve.

Unless someone in Brussels grows big cojones and puts the bear to sleep.
510  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine on: January 24, 2022, 01:44:33 PM
I am surprised there haven't been any threads opened about this yet.

In recent months, Russia has massed hundreds of thousands of troops and other military equipment on the Russia-Ukraine border. It is well known that Russia wants Ukraine to be part of its county, however Russian dictator, President Putin, has claimed that the troop mass is part of a training exercise.

The US and NATO allies are sending military equipment to Ukraine to help repeal an attack, and there is some talk about possibly sending troops to the region.

The world did not care when a short, bullied as a child, delusional painter wanted to restore his empire to its former glory.

The same thing is happening now, a short, bullied as a child, delusional, KGB agent wants to restore his empire to its former glory.

Nobody cares until it is too late and they are forced to care.

Americans are too detached from their own affairs, never mind, an international chess match.

My guess is he is going to come from Belarus and Crimea, and complete the attack with the movement from the East.

Americans will not fire a single shot.  He will be in Kyiv in 3-4 weeks.

Next, he is going after Moldova, gets Odesa, and cuts Ukraine (or whatever is left from it) from the Black Sea.

NATO will sacrifice Ukraine, just like the British and the French sacrificed Poland 83 years ago.

Solution:  Americans should be driving tanks towards the Russia/Ukraine border right now.  Nato needs to deploy 100K soldiers into Eastern Ukraine at once.  Make Ukraine a NATO member.

One problem: Putin has already installed a pro-Russian president, and that is why he will win this round.
511  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Finland on the way to NATO on: January 23, 2022, 06:08:42 PM
...

China and Russia have no problem being business partners, so the US can place whatever sanctions they'd like. Russia's economy isn't very strong, they only have nuclear weapons which makes them a global power.

Question remains how much is the US willing to concede of Ukraine before any military conflict. It's my opinion that they will refuse any military intervention even in the event of a full invasion. I could be wrong, but there is no motivation for the west to defend a non-NATO country. Besides, they don't have any oil either  Cheesy

They are more than willing since they don't want a win-win negotiation. The US forget about Taiwan-China unification issue this time and it looks like China isn't going to stoop down to ignite a war. So they have to find another way to make war by having a narrative for the Ukraine-Russia invasion.

We all know Biden's mental health is not good and can't decide well which only Blinken can do all these as he is one of the warmongers. War is essential for the US for its economy built by the military-industrial complex. War will save the US economy.
Russia's proposal is a win-win by Not expanding NATO near  Russia's border and Russia remains as is. But why is this not good for the US?

It's good that Germany acts as moderator this time though. They are not allowing military arms to ship to Ukraine which is good.

Russia and its Soviet-era rulers need to be contained.

Nato needs to expand to the Russian borders, ASAP.

Crimea should be returned to Ukraine, Russian troops need to go home.

Nato must install their own bases in Crimea and control the Black Sea.

The civilized world should work with the Russian people to topple Putin, and help them transition into a modern democratic society.

The covid 19 virus have gained a new height with various variance, and most countries around the world are placing restrictions on citizens and drafting majors to lower the contraction of the virus, covid vaccine was introduced to bursting the immune of human against the virus but there have been lots .of politics around the vaccines policy around the globe. With country placing vaccines restrictions on travelers and public workers, how effective is the vaccine against the contractions of the virus?

Vaccines do not protect you from contracting the virus.  What they do help with is the body's immune response to the infection.

The only way to protect yourself against contracting the virus is to avoid situations where you might get in contact with it.
Practice physical distancing, wash hands and face after each exposure, wear PPE everywhere when in public.
Do not eat or drink in public, etc.

We should really see the whole thing from the top view as to why all these are happening. Ukraine has people of Russian speaking. They favor to be on the side with Russian actually. You have to listen to both sides of the media from west and east. What is the purpose of Ukraine to join NATO?

If Ukraine will join NATO, they are the only ones that will be destroyed here. It's thier country that will be ruined. Not Russia nor US or the UK but only Ukraine. IT will be the battlefield because if it becomes part of NATO, the troops of the US will be there with the troops of Ukraine.

And who do you think had invaded when the war starts, who is not in their home?

And who will be doing the 'destroying'?

Who gives Russia the right to destroy Eastern Ukraine?

Why would Russia destroy Ukraine once they join NATO?  What the fuck is their problem?

BTW, Ukraine would be much better off if they joined NATO and the EU.

Look at what happened to other Soviet satellite countries after they joined the EU.

BTW, almost all Ukrainians speak Ukrainian and Russian, even people living in Western Ukraine speak Russian fluently. All this language prosecution talk is just a pretext to annex Eastern Ukraine and install military bases with missile launchers pointed at Warsaw, Berlin, Budapest, and Bonn.  What is next?  Lithuania, Poland? I am sure there are Russian speakers in those countries as well.  How about Canada?
Plenty of Russians in Canada and the US.

Putin is just another Hitler. End of story.  He must be stopped.  West does not fully understand the consequences of inaction.

History is about to repeat itself.

I don't think the EU will approve that. Germany the most wealthy in the EU even want peace and no one in Germany sees that all these misunderstandings are caused by Russia doing. The West is very much opposing the pipeline from Russia to Germany making Germany independent of energy sources. In any case, the action will bite back to the west that's why they have to negotiate that Blinken is going.

Can't help seeing how related it is that the head of CIA is seeing the head of Germany like how he did with the previous Afghanistan president before the taking over of Talibans. There is no Hitler today but just fighting back the US regime from keeping sanctions on every country.

He is a carbon copy of Hitler.  Delusional nationalist.

West must stop doing any business with Russia.  Gas or no gas.  Fuck them.

Confiscate all assets that Russian nationals have abroad.
Revoke all visas given to Russians, do not let them into your countries. Don't talk to Russia, just do your thing.

Demand he withdraws from Belarus and Ukraine/Crimea.

Mask  [...] they have literally 0 effect on the state of covid it seems.

Is it safe to assume that you're not actually a qualified biochemist?
Have you actually looked at the studies and associated data around mask efficacy? Surgical masks are obviously better than simple cloth masks, but the data show that cloth masks do have a protective effect. Even if they aren't 100% effective, they are still going to reduce viral load.

I am qualified, I would say Smiley 5 years of biochemistry and engineering studies resulting in a M.sc in protein science and yeah viruses are essentially proteins with some RNA or DNa inside Smiley.. I am not arguing that the mask could not work in theory or in a very controlled environment, for preventing droplets to spreading in the air, to stop a single virus is impossible for simple N/M 95/94 masks and not what they are designed to do.
I am saying masks SEEM to have no effect on the spread in society if you compare mask mandate schools and states with non mandate schools and states. It even seems like mask mandate states are worse off, and i said strange.
I would guess that masks are used poorly and that masked citizens think they are protected more than they actually are, which leads to unnecessary risk behavior.

I think it is fair to say that you are a certifiable moron.

At this point we've probably all been infected with it...  I know I've been confirmed as having been exposed and received notifications 3 times.  I never bothered to get tested because I just got a good night's sleep and went about my life, but for a large % of human beings this would be the covid experience.  Children likely wouldn't even need the good night's sleep.  The fact we're vaccinating kids and getting them on a regular booster schedule for what should be considered harmless to them genuinely makes me sad to the point where I question parents that would do this to their children.

Why does it make you sad? Vaccines are harmless.

There are no negatives to taking vaccines.

Do you have health insurance?  Why?

It makes me sad thinking about children being injected with substances for no logical reason. I think they should be educated to the actual dangers and given a choice.

I don’t have health insurance. I guess because I am smart enough to budget for my medical expenses myself and I know how much money is wasted for insurance companies to make a profit and employ millions of people with income and I don’t like to throw my money away. Same reason I don’t have a financial advisor.

I think whoever told you that vaccination of children is injecting children with substances for no logical reason has been lying to you.

There is a good reason for getting vaccinated.  Vaccination improves your immune system to enable it to recognize the infection and deal with it before the infection causes permanent organ damage.

Whoever told you that is not, does not understand how the immune system works and is making things up as they go.

BTW, the logical reason for vaccinating everyone is so that everyone gets antibodies without getting infected with the virus.
