I just traced the way of the binaries (bitcoins) back to the first input, its 0. 42. Coincidence? https://blockchain.info/address/1Bitcatou6hjV8Yci61AVvzu4V39rFUNUMI think that the hidden Ba?on is supposed to mean sth., just as OADlnF (Too many coincidences to me). It looks like a peculiar code based on Doug Adams works and using bitcoin as a means of transmission. Into the dust, reckless we rode Secret desire, talking in code (Survivor) I really enjoy this thread It is the douglas Adams' code! /sarcasm

Next, I also find it amusing that everyone is assuming that this address belongs to Pirate. In fact, some quick analysis on my part seems to show otherwise. It's most likely Silk Road.
I can do better than that. I can prove it belongs to Silk Road by transactions I moved in there and subsequently out of there, but since anyone can do so without breaking any laws, I'll refrain from going into detail and let someone else do the dirty work of "proving" it. I'll admit I don't really know much about Silk Road, but I was able to at least discern this from the short time I moved coin in and subsequently out. I really am starting to think that a significant number of Bitcoiners are just remaining comfortably numb regarding the impact and sway that Silk Road has on Bitcoin price. I don't know why, though. Plus, it seems like the ultimate free mixer, they don't charge even a Bitpenny and you can be assured you have completely cleaned your coin. Well, "cleaned" it by at least assuring it can't be tied to your online identity, not really "cleaned" it by separating it from possible association with illegal activity. I still maintain that it is most likely an MtGox address. I bet if you look at previous MtGox deposits/withdrawlals, you will find it taints MtGox transactions just as much, if not more, than SR transactions. Its impossible to do more analysis until there's more activity (last send transaction was 8/17/2012). How do you explain dooglus' findings?

I tried it and had 650 Gh pointed at my pool within minutes. Delivered the full amount, plus some. Question is, at those prices who is buying shares and why? I can just buy BTC from Gox for less. BTW - I couldn't pay USD, only BTC.
If someone wants to pay me 3342 per share, heck lets talk - I got 8 G's
Interesting.... Always before it had been hours or even days. This matches my recent experience, it was minutes at most. It might even be practical to use GPUMax to hop... Did you pay for higher priority?

I should add that I paid a tx fee at MtGox
I am missing context on this.

Is there a way with the blockchain.info wallet to separate wallets? For example, I'd like to have a spending wallet, but also multiple savings wallets, like retirement, health, vacation, bicycle savings wallets. And then I can choose which wallet to spend from. Know what I mean?
To avoid driving yourself insane with all of these different wallets on the same platform, pick a different platform for the different functions. Satoshi Client - Savings Multibit - Online Spending, Bill Paying Blockchain mobile app - Mobile Spending Good idea as it provides a very apparent change between 'modes' however I would recommend Armory over the satoshi client as it supports offline-watching wallets which are much better suited for savings (however you do still need the satoshi client).

Wow, somebody at Linode really is making a fortune from Bitcoin Linode's stolen what? 80K BTC? About $800k? Not bad. i am of the opinion the owner of bitfloor has very little idea what happened. put it this way.. he put the site back online. does that sound like someone who knows security? at the very least you nuke the install from orbit, reinstall a clean patched os, recover from backups, AND fix the darn hole. I do not think that happened. I would like to know how they got in.Especially on a supposed semi-airgapped machine. My theory: roman allowed access from his machine for connivence and they compromised THAT which allowed them to pivot into the cold storage server. Also as to the backun on an unencrypted portion of the disk: this would make no difference if they were logged into the running server, unless the encrypted volume was usually unmounted (which does not sound like it was). It sounds like the machine used encryption, but that only really defeats cold attacks on the disk.

The real question is how do you know if an exchange is doing any of these minimal security standards?
You don't. This is how regulations get started.

Anyone else seeing absolutely tiny amounts of public work? I think I've had about 100 public shares in the past 48 hours.
When pirate pays I will send some shares your way

@unclemantis... You should probably read the rest of the thread
Why? Should there be reason to panic? Yes, it looks like bit floor as we knew it is gone

I badly want an invite to try this I just got mine... I bet yours arrives in the next few days. Took me months to get mine. I think things are really accelerating now. If pirate pays I will buy some shares

It simply isn't worth the filing costs for a claim with a snowball in hell's chance of even being heard.
This. And my guess is that you and TC would be two of the bigger holders.

I setup separate accounts for this. I have a savings account with all the security bells and whistles and then a mobile wallet that is on my phone.

Keep in mind that the law is not only the constitution.

Roman has already said he's going to talk to a real lawyer. So nothing that any of you Internet lawyers say will have any impact on his actions. The only thing to do now is sit back and wait for an update once Roman's lawyer advises him on what course of action he should take.
What !??!?!? What am I supposed to do with my Internet Law Degree? I got it from this guy named pirate... he said it was legit....

Tho people like HashKing I never saw him once promote it as a sound investment he just offered a PPT and made the risk obvious from his other deposits.
I never really remember payb.tc promoting it either... just here it is. In fact he made it very clear that it was a risk on pirate and never (to my knowledge) promoted it.

Accusing me of "anger" is not the best way to rebut anything I've claimed. The ALLCAPS are for emphasis, not rageposting. Note that not a single exclamation point was used in my post. I'll use bold next time, so as not to further confuse you. My apologies then, I misinterpreted your intentions.
