I am using Ledger Nano S since sometime now and it's quite safe and easy to use but only thing is you need to buy from a trusted seller. Setting up can take time but if you are stuck, you can always ask questions on the forum. I followed a YouTube video when I got stuck at setup and then it was pretty easy to install apps to save crypto.

It's happening since yesterday.
526  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Warning ! Bittrex shutting down in 31 countries. Withdraw your funds. on: October 21, 2019, 02:53:08 PM
Shocking that India is not in the list when Pakistan is mentioned and the country is strongly against cryptos. Why not shut down completely when the trading volume also will reduce that would cause huge losses to the exchange? Nowadays almost all exchanges are shutting down so won't be surprised if Bittrex shut down completely along with Binance, Kucoin and Hitbtc.
527  Local / India / Many countries have cautioned on rushing into crypto currencies, says Sitharaman on: October 20, 2019, 09:25:51 AM
Today an article was published where the Finance Minister said that "Many countries have cautioned on rushing into crypto currencies, says Sitharaman"

Quote
Washington: Many countries have cautioned against rushing into crypto currencies, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Sunday, as Facebook's proposed virtual currency Libra became a buzzword during the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

In fact, Reserve Bank of India Governor Shantikanta Das spoke about crypto currencies during one of the interventions this week. The RBI has banned the use of cryptocurrencies in India.

"On our side, the Reserve Bank Governor spoke about it during our turn to intervene. I got the sense that many countries were cautioning on rushing into this," Sitharaman told a group of Indian reporters in response to a question on the discussions on Libra, the proposed virtual currency from Facebook, which was one of the talked about topics this annual meeting.

"Some of them (countries) of course even suggested that they shouldn't be using, all of us shouldn't be using the name stable currency because that's the expression they used. Many cautioned to the extent saying even the name should not be stable currency, it should relate to virtual currency or something of the kind," she said.

Sitharaman said three or four different names were mentioned by different people but the overall sense was that "countries will have to show extreme caution much before anything is said or moved on this".

"In fact, this morning some of the presentations were also highlighting the strengths of such virtual currency. But equally everyone without fail spoke about the challenges together with talking about it as a if necessary step forward. So everyone was stepping cautiously on it," she said.

Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director, IMF, said the organisation has been engaged quite extensively with others, like the Financial Stability Board, the European Central Bank, on the question of digital currency, stablecoins about what are the benefits and risks involved.

"We take a very balanced approach. We look at the ease of use, cost savings, and most importantly, financial inclusion as very important benefits. But we are also very mindful that they can be a risk for privacy, consumer privacy," she said.

Georgieva said digital currency can be abused for illegal purposes and, in the worst case, for the financing of terrorism.

"And there are issues on sovereignty that need to be well understood and addressed. And in that sense, we will continue to work," Georgieva said.

"We are not specifically focusing on Libra. We are looking into, one, the inevitability of expanding digital money on the wave of the digital revolution, but then the necessity to do so, mindful of monetary stability," the IMF Managing Director said in response to a question.

Things don't look positive after reading what she said and she's just quoting the countries that aren't positive about cryptos and not the ones that have supported it Sad

They revived the game from 39/3 and they are nearing 200 now. Rohit is hitting 4s to let the runs keep coming but he shouldn't be hurrying as if his wicket goes, the total score would not even reach 250 as Kohil's also gone. SA look in full attacking mode today.

Ndigi and Linde are bowling badly as Rohit can easily make 4s (already 13 of them).

Markam won't be playing the third test as he injured himself by taking out his frustration by boxing. This behavior reminded me of Ponting who used to break things getting frustrated and angry with his own performance. Don't understand why to be so frustrated and then harm your own-self by acting immature. It costed him the test match now.
530  Local / India / Re: What's you view on the court case ongoing in Supreme Court-Positive or Negative? on: October 17, 2019, 08:33:03 AM
So it again got postponed. Why they aren't willing to even hear the case? I'm not being negative now and am absolutely clueless whether they want to ban it or not. Sad thing is that our Government has strong views when it comes to politics and nothing else and due to this so many exchanges went bankrupt inspite of following all legal norms.
531  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bad experience with exchanges on: October 14, 2019, 04:58:33 PM
I have bad experiences with two exchanges: Cryptopia and Hitbtc. Cryptopia's hack and then bankruptcy made me lose $400 and hitbtc doesn't let me withdraw my coins as they want fee in fiat when the market has crashed long back.
532  Local / India / Re: Ideas and Thoughts for celebrating 10th Bitcointalk Anniversary in Indian board on: October 14, 2019, 08:45:30 AM
Since this section is still not active so not many people would even participate in the Bitcointalk anniversary in this section. I appreciate
Heisenberg_Hunter's gesture to celebrate in this section but the first two suggestions don't seem feasible right now. The third one looks good but it has been discussed too many times in this section so it would just create spam.

I suggest we have a poll to check whether members of this section really want to celebrate the anniversary or not in our Indian section. If it's less than 5 people, we shouldn't celebrate and stick to the global celebration only.
533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: October 13, 2019, 01:41:01 PM
Game got over so soon. First time after a long time India did right and chose to follow on. Still they won by 137 runs. The bowlers too played a big role in the win but definitely Virat's 254 was a savior.

This time SA did not even put up a fight. India easily managed to score 601 and take wickets.
534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: October 12, 2019, 12:25:43 PM

SA have crossed 250  Grin Maharaj and Philander are relentless, they have already batted out nearly 45+ overs and have scored over 109 runs. Most of the time, India fail to pick up the tail-enders. Looking at the current situation, I am expecting Maharaj batting through the day and to score a ton Tongue

Shocking! I thought they would max get 220-230 runs with two wickets left but a partnership of 109 is tremendous when 8 batsmen could manage just 168. Maharaj played very well. His family is from India I guess but may be he's brought up in SA.

India now just need to put up 150-200 runs and the game is over for SA.
535  Economy / Services / Re: [HIRING] Litemint - Translators needed on: October 12, 2019, 09:46:21 AM
I can work on the Hindi translation and here is my portfolio: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1982069.new#new

I can accept ETH/BTC payment only.
536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: October 12, 2019, 08:45:23 AM
Again SA will lose before reaching 250. Virat will now possibly choose to bat and put up 400-450 runs as he always does but glad that this match will have a result as the first innings is already over in 2.5 days. A follow-on would be better but Virat never chooses that.

India is at the top of the table with 160 points and till now they did not have a single loss. *happy dance Cheesy*
537  Economy / Reputation / Re: DT everyone? cryptoji.net agency cheating translators from the forum on: October 11, 2019, 01:32:24 PM
I spoke to @ChiNgad0r and cryptoji hasn't replied to him since over a month. Him replying to one translator and not posting on this thread and talking to ChiNgad0r doesn't seem right. If he is honest and wants to pay everyone, he needs to reply here and since he has already received the money from the project, why this delay then? He has to clear dues of some other projects too and till he doesn't fulfill his commitment, I can't trust him.
538  Economy / Exchanges / Re: HitBTC.com - The most advanced cryptocurrency exchange on: October 11, 2019, 01:25:19 PM

Dear erikalui, our team adjusts the withdrawal fees according to the market conditions. 707 CCT tokens are worth less than 2 USD at the current moment. Please keep in mind that HitBTC has always had a flat withdrawal fee structure that doesn’t depend on the number of funds withdrawn.

That means I'll never be able to withdraw the tokens as CCT is no longer trading on your exchange? Also, when other exchanges do not set such conditions, why hitbtc wants fee in fiat? You should charge a fee that's used for sending the tokens and not a fee in fiat when the altcoin market is always volatile. The tokens were worth $1200 last year and dropped after that.

You don't even want to list the token again and I can't withdraw them ever now.
539  Economy / Exchanges / Re: HitBTC.com - The most advanced cryptocurrency exchange on: October 11, 2019, 09:14:08 AM
We're sorry that our withdrawal fee structure doesn't work for some of the users. It is worth mentioning, though, that our fees are flat and do not depend on the number of funds you're trying to withdraw. Withdrawal fees are being adjusted according to the market situation.

How am I then supposed to withdraw my tokens from your exchange? I got 471 CCT tokens which have a withdrawal fee of 707 tokens and these tokens are not even trading on your exchange anymore. I also have FLP which require 915 tokens as a withdrawal fee. These fee are not only ridiculous but a punishment of me depositing on your exchange. The network never requires you to have 10k tokens so that cannot be your excuse for setting such a high fee. You are discouraging users by setting such a high limit.

Update:

Yesterday cryptoji contacted me, promised to make payments to all translators and close this topic and flag.
Let's see how the process goes, if all my debts are returned to me and other translators, then I will be ready to close this topic and the flag.

If there are translators who had problems, then write here or to his personal mail. Let's hope they solve this problem.

Great news! Hope we receive the promised payments without making things ugly. Will remove my support for the flag once payment is received.
