The buyback will be made at the price of the ICO, $7,04, they said it from the beginning.

While the market rate is double the amount so it's profitable if the price drops which I don't see coming as since 2 months it has only increased. Also, the market volume is not that bad as livecoin has many buy orders at 0.0019 to 0.0022 BTC while the price on DDEX is even more.
1343  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Verifying a fake/genuine Ledger Nano S on: May 07, 2019, 04:19:53 PM

See this: https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002481534-Check-if-device-is-genuine

Ledger has features to check if its firmware is genuine. What you need to be careful about is using an already configured device or a filled-in recovery sheet.

There was never a "hack"; in the case where the user lost $35k, he used a seed that came with the Ledger. That's a big NO and has nothing to do with Ledger's security. It's always a social engineering hack.

Actually I have been hacked twice once and have lost my funds so I wanted to be sure if the device has not been tampered with. That user had received a sheet with the 24 phrase words which he scratched and entered and then Ledger came up with Ledger live and started giving instructions to check if the device is genuine or not. My firmware doesn't show any problems and last check is of the hardware as I did not purchase it directly from Ledger.com.

^I haven't sent you any negative trust yet so no point in sending me any messages to remove it. I checked that the quote given in the OP is different than the Hindi translated thread but still the similarity with Google translation is appalling.
1345  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Verifying a fake/genuine Ledger Nano S on: May 07, 2019, 03:55:01 PM
erikalui, I agree that we should be extra careful when it comes safety of our coins, but we should not exaggerate is some things. What I'm interested in this story is whether you do not trust Ledger as the company or Swissborg?

I'm not too technical to say how easy or difficult is modify Nano S hardware, but I believe it is not easy, or a cheap process. Such attack would probably aim on user with significant amount of coins, a not on a random users.

Good way of testing hardware wallet would be to create wallet, and then deposit smaller amount of coins in such wallet. If device is compromised coins would move from your wallet in case hacker is not patient enough to wait that you deposit more.

I trust both Ledger and Swissborg but I am not sure if Swissborg bought it from a reseller and I have read many cases of resellers selling tampered Ledger Nano S which is why I wanted to confirm if the hardware is also safe to use. Will try sending few coins first and will see what happens. To check the hardware, I just need to use a screwdriver to open the behind case and Ledger has given instructions to do so but I want to do it from a technician who can be more careful. Random users have lost $35k from such hacks.

1347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [MTC] [Docademic] Doc Speculation on: May 06, 2019, 04:33:07 PM

I am still holding my tokens since a year and as of now the price is not even it's starting price.
Currently, the price is not affected by any news but it's only pump and dump. They are planning to launch their mainnet by next week so let's hope it brings in something positive.
The Doc is currently undervalued and the reason may be because of getting delisted from Hitbtc and it caused because of Mr. McAfee.
But they have great plans ahead and I believe the Doc will get its real value soon.

I don't agree with your accusation of P&D because we saw such a scenario only once. Not sure if you will agree with me or not.

They airdropped the unsold tokens on a monthly basis to the hodlers.
But 2 months ago they stopped that and burned all the remaining tokens and reduced the total supply.
And currently they are working fully on their mainnet launch and swap, and also they have great plans on promotion maybe it will start after the mainnet launch.

I missed the information about token swap. Thanks for sharing this info and looks like it's no automatic but rather manual. Will need to follow the main channel more often now. I hope they give time to users to swap their tokens.

There are many tokens that follow P&D and for MTC it was the same as the price soon dropped.
1348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [MTC] [Docademic] Doc Speculation on: May 06, 2019, 01:24:21 PM
MTC was one of those tokens whose price started from literally $0.01 and then increased overnight. I sold 40k tokens at $0.2-$0.35 and then wanted to sell others when the price dipped to $0.1 and then it never increased. I am still holding my tokens since a year and as of now the price is not even it's starting price.

They told that they will start some kind of stacking for MTC holders, I even got some tokens before sold MTC. Is it working now?

They pay dividends monthly and I get around 1000 tokens per month. I last received these tokens 2 months back and don't know why they stopped now. Will ask them.

Edit: Just asked them. They said they stopped sending tokens as they are launching the mainnet.

I wanted to ask if we need to check the hardware as well as Ledger has given instructions to do so but I don't want to tamper with the device as it may break. Is it necessary to check the hardware as well?

Well, this depends on how safe you want to be.

Since the firmware will be checked once you access your nano s via ledger live, the only option which could pose a risk would be tampering with the hardware.

Do you trust the person who gifted you the nano s ? Was it a friend / relative ? Or some stranger ?
Does the case of the nano s look untouched ?

It requires quite some technical know-how to get and set up the required hardware and build it into the nano s to compromise the device.

Usually (if you got it from a friend / relative), are not paranoid and don't want to store a massive amount of BTC on it, it should be fine without checking the hardware (my personal opinion).
But if you want to be 100% sure or got it gifted from an unknown / not that trustworthy person, i'd check it.

I won it in a competition held by Swissborg. The case of nano s was untouched.

I'll try to get it checked from a good technician but since it has no screws like a laptop, it could damage the device of which I am scared. The Ledger Live app helps to detect genuine devices but if that's no enough, I would be left to open the device to get full confirmation.
1353  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Ledger Nano S related questions on: May 06, 2019, 10:49:17 AM
I checked out some Youtube videos and noticed that fake Ledger Nano devices have costed many users to get scammed. I received my Ledger Nano S as a gift and wish to know whether it's genuine or a fake one.

I already verified these steps given by Ledger: https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002481534-Check-if-device-is-genuine

There was nothing suspicious found in sheets and I myself set the PIN and 24 words recovery phrase. I wanted to ask if we need to check the hardware as well as Ledger has given instructions to do so but I don't want to tamper with the device as it may break. Is it necessary to check the hardware as well?
1354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: Spectre.ai information - Trading platform now LIVE! on: May 06, 2019, 10:43:29 AM

I prefer IDEX, maybe your order is fully loaded in a few days because of the high value you expect?
some tokens there have small to high trading volumes, you have to know that

Since my tokens were not listed on any big exchange, I set them at a price they were sold the previous day but they did not get filled as there were barely 2-4 buyers. Spectre may do well on Idex as it is good on etherdelta but in comparison, the latter is better.

^
No mod ?
That's a terrible situation to be in. Before Halab was named mod of the French section, a few of us had to take care of that "fake translators" problem. We wasted a lot of energy there.
I suppose you made a request to Theymos about having a new one ?

A request was made in Meta here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3125174.20

But no mod was elected as it is said that Indian section doesn't have much activity and since many languages are spoken here, the mod may not be able to handle such reports. I can see some other Local sections also without a mod like the German section and hence members are handling such issues and reporting them.

There is no announcement of the distribution whether it is in process or not. Don't know why they are delaying.

From the date the last announcement was made till now it would have been that the team are already starting the distribution, because if you look at the date of the announcement, it was on the 20th of April, and according to what was written on the announcement, distribution will start 14 days from the announcement, and by my calculations should have been started by now,  lets hope team are getting ready to distribute.

They posted an update for bounty participants here: https://t.me/c/1229915461/163

They are having some Buy Back programme also for bounty participants and hope it's in our best interest. Still waiting for their mail which should come today.
1357  Other / Meta / Re: How forum detect automated translation? on: May 06, 2019, 06:32:01 AM

Yes, .Heisenberg_Hunter  requested to check the translation. I guess you can ask someone having DT powers to tag these translators.
You can still "Report To Moderator" , it will go on Global Mods queue in absence of local mods but I have no idea how they will be able to take action when they also do not know the language.

I used to report to Benson first who was the Indian mod but he also used to take no action and it will be tough for the global mods to deal with it as they don't understand Hindi. Only once one topic got deleted for using automated tools but that was because the project manager complained I guess else all others go unnoticed.
1358  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Mental health awareness friends on: May 05, 2019, 04:43:41 PM
I have a friend who also suffers from depression and it's fortunate that her family realized it and started treating her. She takes those medicines and then becomes blank and emotionless as if she can't hear anybody. It's been over 6-7 years and she's not cured yet. She has visited many doctors but still is not cured completely. Don't know what to do to help her out.
1359  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why so many people say "Muslims are terrorists" Should we say that? on: May 05, 2019, 04:40:11 PM
Those terrorists don't even care about their religion and go about killing anyone thinking they will get God's blessings. They rape, murder, torture and trade women saying that God wants them to do so and which holy book says that? None. So basically they are brainwashed by some preacher and do anything/everything their leader tells them to do. It's just that maximum of these terrorists happen to be Muslims but it's not the entire religion. Here in India when the British played their divide and rule, they played the religion card and got the two religions to rip apart the other. What should those Britishers be called then?
