1161  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: May 30, 2019, 07:29:43 PM
I am sure they'll ask every account holder for personal information now and make it even more difficult to claim so that they can say that they tried to make it fair but not give anyone their rightfully owned tokens back. Bankruptcy excuse is a joke.
1162  Local / Off-Topic (India) / Re: Trains arriving late on: May 30, 2019, 03:32:54 PM

The local trains does not have that much delay in Mumbai and they usually run on time, may be you traveled during week ends as the maintenance takes place during that time and some of the trains usually does to run during Saturday and Sunday, when it comes to long distance train you might encounter delays as it is a common thing and there is nothing you can do about that and only Rajdhani Express maintains the correct timing.
Does bullet trains use the same tracks, if that is the case they might arrive late too unless they maintain the same status as Rajdhani .

Usually a 5 mins delay is normal for local trains but trains beyond Virar do have over 20 mins delay and even central line trains. I used to travel by a local train to Virar and it always starts 20 mins late even though it arrives 5-10 mins early on the platform which makes it a 30 mins delay for no reason. The cases with Passenger trains and Express trains are the worst as the delay is in hours. Only Metro trains run in time with a delay of upto 5 mins as they have separate tracks and Bullet trains too have their own tracks.
1163  Local / Off-Topic (India) / Re: A thumping Mandate by the people of Bharat!! on: May 29, 2019, 05:58:17 AM
^^OP needs to move it.

I don't have any hopes regarding Modi and BJP. In politics, it's always said to choose the party that's less evil. People feel Congress is the worst as they have been ruling for years while BJP made few positive changes but for me things have gone worse with BJP. I honestly never supported Modi but felt may be the inflation and corruption will be under control but nothing happened. Today we can see more corruption around us and prices of everything has increased. Right from holy places to police stations, everyone is corrupt. Even if you want to go through legal means, they make it impossible for you unless you give them few thousand notes.

The token's price is NIL. How is Daneel dealing with this drop and anything is being done for their token and project?
1165  Other / Meta / Re: [Feature Suggest] Let disable multi quoting on: May 28, 2019, 08:14:58 AM
There is a feature available that enables a user to quote one reply only and some other forums have used that feature. People here too are quoting 6-7 posts which makes it look clumsy. If people want to quote more than one message, they would need to do it manually with the code. Hopefully they can implement this soon.

1167  Other / Meta / Re: Let's finally remove Locked and Self Mod topics from the Marketplace on: May 25, 2019, 02:18:54 AM

Maybe you think or see a ton of threads I miss where legit users are in need of this feature. Feel free to point them out. The point of this topic was not to dismiss the idea, but bring the discussion centered around this point to one place for review and discussion. Who's to say getting whitelisted wouldn't be a painless process, is the unknown of how the system rolls out enough reason to discredit it before it's trialed?

I was a newbie when I tried to sell my gift cards and mostly all users who posted on the thread derailed my thread and asked me to sell my genuine gift cards at a huge discount as they were getting carded gift cards for that rate. To stop all these unnecessary demotivating comments, I made all my threads self-moderated ones. Example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=928753.5

Whitelisting is just giving privilege to one user and not to the other which is unfair. One forum had such feature for premium members and it was highly unfair to others who have not established themselves on a forum.

Quote
They do remove off-topic. Most are also smart enough to distinguish when someone is only attempting to appear on-topic.
None of the comments I reported in my thread were considered off-topic and hence not removed. They troll you to an extent that you feel like giving your product for free. The self-moderated feature is a blessing in disguise for me.

1168  Other / Serious discussion / Re: My MEW wallet hacked... please help me on: May 24, 2019, 05:57:39 PM
^I have never recommended it to anyone but have seen people doing it to reverse transactions via PayPal and other reversible payment methods by submitting proof. However since ETH/BTC are not reversible while these exchanges are controlled, it's possible to start an investigation on an account that is involved in some hack. Binance has done it and all exchanges have been cooperating so I don't see why Mercatox won't if the user can provide them the proof. In any case, these exchanges are used to locking accounts for number of reasons and here it's better to do something than nothing.
1169  Other / Meta / Re: Let's finally remove Locked and Self Mod topics from the Marketplace on: May 24, 2019, 05:51:09 PM
Already discussed "n" number of times and as I already stated my reason here, I don't see a reason why self-moderated option should be disabled. The problem of having newbies or scammers on this forum is not a new one and it has also been discussed a billion times how to stop/prevent it but none has been implemented or even "considered".

A good example of a whitelistable account might be brokers maintaining a large amount of items in 1 thread.

So another way of giving SOME users an advantage over the others like DT and most merited members? Why? Other members have no right to use the marketplace of bitcointalk and prevent spam?

Maybe I'm missing something but it seems the bad far outweighs the good by keeping these features available for everyone, considering it's the go to move for Newbie accounts looking for a quick score. The few users who feel their topic will be spammed or they may be harassed can make use of the "report to moderator" function. The rest of the threads will be open to have reasonable questions asked and discussion to take place on this forum, considering this is where the Ads are placed. It will still depend on members to ask the right questions but I think there are plenty out there that patrol and will do just that.

Moderators don't remove posts that appear "harassing", "trolling", "personal attacks" and so on. Even doxxing is allow and only SPAM posts are deleted so no point of the @bold.

There have in the past been concerns as well around these features empowering and protecting the potential scams themselves. They can spread false information about escrows gear and anything they really want with little recourse available. There is no way apart from leaving feedback and hoping people believe it or are not convinced it's frivolous through whatever means of contact these people use. I get it that it's still up to people to do their due diligence and they should catch these tricks, but unfortunately a lot of us learn the hard way. It's an unfortunate by product of the protections certain banks and cards have afforded us.

The scamming problem is a problem the DT members deal with. If you find anything fishy, report to them.

Nothing new has been said here at all.
1170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: Spectre.ai information - Trading platform now LIVE! on: May 24, 2019, 05:32:29 PM
We can argue that the rewards are too low but since they are paying in ETH, it's still better than other projects. I know of Pundi and MTC that also pays dividend every month but they pay in their tokens so the coin price goes down with the dividend amount. ETH is more stable than altcoins. I have been paid 8 times the reward amount as well in some weeks so it's much better than other projects.
1171  Economy / Services / Re: Stake.com - A signature campaign for everyone! Earn up to 0.1 BTC weekly on: May 24, 2019, 05:18:27 PM
Left the campaign before the bad news came in. The rates are ridiculously low. From about $7-$8 per 10 posts down to $3. Looks like many participants will leave.

And they won't let users even discuss these issues in the telegram group because it would be considered spamming.
1172  Other / Meta / Re: sardasa account hacked yesterday on: May 24, 2019, 10:00:40 AM
^Coinbase also allows you to sign a message which I just checked but they locked your account so... Sad

You did not use blockchain.info addresses or any other wallets like electrum, hardware wallets, jaxx etc? If you have used ETH addresses (like myetherwallet, metamask etc. hoping it would be considered) also and sign a message, that could be fine.

You dealt with localbitcoins so is it possible for them to allow you to sign a message? They don't give the private key is what I know though.

1173  Other / Meta / Re: sardasa account hacked yesterday on: May 24, 2019, 09:22:38 AM
Yesterday my account was hacked @ 3:38 PM GMT.
Hacker managed to change my account's e-mail id & then the password.
I noticed it at 3:45 PM GMT & got my account locked using the link the forum sent me on my e-mail id along with e-mail change notification.
That gives the hacker a 7 minute window in which he could have used your account to PM users trying to scam them. I don't think it's very likely, but if you sign a message from an address posted anywhere, I'll tag the account just to be sure.
I checked it. My account was last active till 3:40 PM GMT. Don't think he did anything with the account.
That's the address which I had staked last time: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.msg19862993#msg19862993
It belongs to my Lykke Exchange account. I have access to it. Can send screenshots and other proofs but won't be able to sign a message from it as it's exchange address.

How shall we go ahead now?

Sorry to see that your account got hacked. As per Theymos's instructions, you can use any address (even which is not staked) whose private key you own:

Quote
Signatures

Often, you need to prove ownership of the account with a PGP or Bitcoin signature. This has two steps:

 1. You need to show that the PGP key or Bitcoin address is associated with the account, for example by referencing an unedited post in which you posted the address.
 2. You need to sign an appropriate message with that key/address.

You have so many addresses mentioned in your earlier posts that are unedited like

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1268827.msg13099505#msg13099505

And addresses from which you paid users for sign-ups and so on.

Choosing accounts from coinbase or any exchange won't be of any use as you don't own the private keys of those addresses.

^They are just dodging bounty participants just like another campaign I have been a part of. Waiting for payment since a year and looks like Jinbi is following the same path. They won't pay and later the coin will get dumped after which they may send the payment.

I know how to play the piano and have passed three theory exams. Piano and guitar lessons can be very useful.

No doubt that now BJP has the maximum votes and Modi will be the PM now. People in my area are such strong Modi bhakts and a word criticizing him makes them question your intelligence. Have never seen such craze for a political party earlier except for the members of that group and now these supporters are worse than fan groups of celebs who come to personal attack other members. Don't know now which ban is awaiting us but surely nothing positive. Acche din aaye hi nahi Sad
By the time passes opponents were losing their seats more and now BJB can stand alone just like what happened on 2014.

I didn't expect this results after BJB were lost some state elections recently and the controversies on EVM machines will continues again as well.

EVMs being stolen is nothing but another controversy. BJP will always keep winning as people still really think that they are going to curb terrorism and corruption. The amount of hatred people had for Congress is the major reason people voted for BJP. We'll see more foreign trips, technology-loving speeches, more bans on cryptocurrencies and then something worse than GST.

Can't believe Smriti Irani won against Rahul too.
1179  Other / Off-topic / Re: Recipes on: May 23, 2019, 01:55:07 PM
I shared the recipe of my favorite dishes here on my blog: http://allindiandishesrecipes.blogspot.com/ (Both are Indian sweets)

And I also made an ebook sharing other recipes and sold it to few members out here.

All are recipes of my late grandmother and I still miss eating her food but her recipes always remind me of her Smiley

Hope somebody can try the recipes on my blog and let me know their honest feedback. Thanks!

^Raina has been ignored by the team since 2015 and I felt IPL would make a change as not only his batting but his fielding is tremendous. Rayudu had a better chance as he has been pretty consistent but I feel Shankar was chosen based on his strike rate while getting run out twice this year hasn't been very impressive. Dhawan (reminds me of Sehwag) doesn't deserve the opening position as usually he is the first one losing his wicket compared to Rohit and hence he could fight for the 4th position like Raina and Rayudu. Virat deserves 2nd rather than 3rd.
