521  Economy / Speculation / Re: What to expect this bull run? on: February 10, 2024, 11:31:41 AM
Chill out not everything is about Bitcoin!

If you are off Altcoins boards then everything is definitely about Bitcoin.

Yes Bitcoin has had a great 7 days, but a couple of my altcoins have had much better month, one of them giving me over a 12x in 2 weeks.

You have unrealized profit at the moment because you haven't sold anything yet, right? In two weeks you may not have x12, but only x6, and in a month maybe only x3. Long-term investing in alts can backfire, because most of them are pump&dump schemes.

I plan to be in altcoins this bull run, and then once I have made my profits then put a lot of it into Bitcoin in the next bear market in 2026.

If you claim that you are not satisfied with the possible profits in this coming bull run, I wonder how you will be satisfied in the one that will come only there in 2029/30, and after each halving the growth of the max price is less and less. However, if that is your plan, stick to it - everyone has the right to invest in what they want and in what way they want.
522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Updates from the COPA v Craig Wright trial on: February 10, 2024, 11:13:08 AM
~snip~
What you don't understand is that this is his only trial so far that has to do with identity . It's his last chance to prove what he says for years in his way . If he doesn't provide the necessary info i'm on your side . if he provides it you will be on my side or will you try to find excuses to still stand on your opinion ?

You are one of those people who want to believe that something is true, regardless of the fact that from 2016 until today, CW Faketoshi has failed in all discussions and trials where he presented hundreds of pieces of evidence that were proven 100% false by experts before these same courts.

It's funny that you consider this trial to be some kind of final solution to the problem of "is CW Satoshi or not?" if the chance for that is less than 1%, although some will say that it doesn't exist at all. Regardless of the court's decision, CW will continue to claim that he is Satoshi, and people like you who, despite all the evidence that he is not, will continue to give him some incentive to continue to prove it.
523  Economy / Speculation / Re: What to expect this bull run? on: February 09, 2024, 03:34:31 PM
First bull run coming up for me and I am just wondering what we should all realistically be expecting over the next 18 months or so?
~snip~

Considering that you have stated several times that you only invested in altcoins, the only thing you can hope for is that the Bitcoin bull run will have an impact on altcoins. If you look at the top 20 coins, none of them have grown more than Bitcoin in the last 7 days, but if you are greedy and want x100 profit, then you have no choice but to gamble with projects that have no purpose or sense.

I expect that the Bitcoin price will reach a new ATH in the next two years, and whether it will be x2 or x5 compared to the last ATH is nothing but something we can only speculate about. Your problem is that through all this time on the forum and all the answers you've received, you haven't really learned much - I suggest you start reading your post history from the beginning.
524  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CRYPTO PROFITS & UK TAX on: February 09, 2024, 11:33:05 AM
Are you forgetting again that you have already asked similar questions? In case you haven't already received answers that satisfy you, wouldn't it be best to find a tax advisor who would then advise you when it comes to taxes?

Paying tax in UK after bull run?
525  Other / Meta / Re: Top reporters on: February 09, 2024, 10:29:33 AM
In addition to this request, I would also like to ask theymos if he can publish the statistics for 2021 and 2022. Since OP was created, no other update was provided, thus statistics for all years since 2020 would be useful to see...

I have already written before, but it is worth repeating, considering that some members think that such things are not a priority for the admin, maybe it is something completely different. Some members were not really thrilled with the idea of their report statistics being published publicly, and how to publish something that should be partially censored?

I personally have nothing against it, and it would be interesting to see who are those who still find some time to make the forum a better place for everyone else.
526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decrypt wallet.dat (lost password) on: February 08, 2024, 04:27:28 PM
How about continuing the discussion in the thread you already started? If someone didn't leave a password to be found, then we can assume that they didn't want someone to get access to what they locked.

Furthermore, if you don't have the slightest idea of what the password might look like, the chances of someone brute forcing a password that consists of random letters, numbers and special characters and is longer than 10 characters are almost zero.
527  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: RedotPay Crypto Virtual Card & Pysical card. on: February 08, 2024, 03:30:59 PM
What are their fees, cashback options (if they have any), ATM withdrawal limits etc? I did a brief search on their website but for whatever reason I coulnd't find that info (not that I would do KYC for them as I have much better option if I go that route, but still...).

I found something on this link, with some more answers to the questions on the left. I agree that there is definitely a better (non-KYC option) for virtual cards, but for those who want a card with which they can get directly to cash, there are only two ways, either mandatory KYC or buying an anonymous card that costs a lot of money.
528  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: AI-generated fake IDs claimed to pass crypto exchange KYC are selling for $15 on: February 08, 2024, 03:16:02 PM
~snip~

Exactly, so we have an old CEX like .stamp that became famous for its crazy checks (some members described their experiences), to those that encourage people to elegantly bypass the rules and even help them to do so. At the end of the day, it all boils down to making as much money as possible while spending as little time as possible on things like KYC.

For a few hundred $ you can buy the account of a well-known CEX together with the card, and it is even sold quite legally on this forum. They will not mind that the account is opened in country X, and the money is spent in country Y.
529  Economy / Economics / Re: "Shrinkflation" is coming back as a narrative on: February 08, 2024, 12:03:25 PM
Lucius you have probably made my day with your tough and soft truth here. You hit the point one after other and lift me less words to say.

In that case, we think similarly, and only if as many people as possible realized how much they are actually using us for their personal goals, maybe something would change. Mass protests by farmers across the EU may be just the beginning of some big changes.

~snip~
We have the parliament elections coming up in a month; so these are the days for "buzzwords" and fake promises for us too. We will soon have weirder terms than "shrinkflation" coming Cheesy For now candidates are signing up so for now the funniest thing IMO is a dude who has been absent a third of the parliament sessions who became a candidate again...

I also have elections this year, three times, but the most interesting ones for the parliament are not too uncertain, given that the ruling party has absolute power over everything, whether it is the media or the agency that will eventually enter votes from paper into digital system, not to mention a few hundred thousand more voters than people who have the right to vote at all...

~snip~
The reason is simple, there is too much money but not enough stuff for everybody. I mean there is enough stuff but not quality stuff. You are eating chicken for example but it is all fed with antibiotics. Have you ever seen a chicken farm? It is disgusting.

I watched a relatively recent documentary on N about how some chicken farmers in the US are now starting to grow mushrooms because they literally got sick of doing the business of raising poultry. And what about the breeding of cattle and literally lakes of excrement and urine that are then spread over the fields with the help of pumps, and all this practically at people's doorsteps.
530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The US Government wants your Bitcoin Miners!? on: February 08, 2024, 11:39:06 AM
Whether this is just a show for the public or whether some of the anti-Bitcoin politicians managed to lobby for the initiation of such actions remains a question to which we may one day get an answer - but all this reminds me of what happened in China before they decided to ban mining.
The correlation the journalist made in the article is interesting. They mentioned the last country whose government required extensive information from Bitcoin miners. That was Venezuela. It the months following the survey, the authorities seized loads of miners and just took over the mining business from their end.

Journalists are always looking for something to make their article as "sensational" as possible, but to compare what happened in Venezuela with what the US government is trying to do now is quite pointless in my opinion. The US authorities would not allow themselves to engage in such business at all, because that would mean giving Bitcoin legitimacy to the extent that the headlines "US government "produces" Bitcoin" would appear.

We all know that the US authorities sell all the seized BTC at auctions and that they do not want to have any possession of the same - although some may say that they have a hidden agenda in this whole BTC mining business. Because if they put their paws on all those mining farms in the US and introduce censorship of transactions, they would make a real mess, at least for a while.
531  Other / Meta / Re: USE OF CHAT GPT-RULES on: February 08, 2024, 11:21:33 AM
~snip~
...but i'm just saying for like a general user guide an section in your account settings help page where there lays an ai chatbot for the forum users that could help with anything they ask about the forum & help searching for certain posts, how to explain to new users how to post images or provide extra tips and tricks. Would that be such a terrible thing?

I have to admit that your idea is very strange to me, because you think that the forum should integrate an AI chat bot with which users would then communicate in order to get answers to questions that can be easily found using the forum search option? I don't see anything positive here, except that we are going in the direction when forum members will communicate with AI bots instead of discussing with other members - because that is obviously a much easier approach in today's world.

However, considering how people think, I wouldn't be surprised if your wish comes true one day in the future - which means you just need to stay on the forum long enough.
532  Other / Meta / Re: Locked topics, free speech on: February 08, 2024, 11:05:51 AM
The OP is another one of those who convinced themselves that they did something without which even Bitcoin would not exist - so if they already claim that they participated in the creation of this forum, why don't they follow the rules of that same forum?

@Keawe, do you know about rule 32 that you broke in this topic?
533  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI Spam Report Reference Thread on: February 08, 2024, 10:56:53 AM
That's strange, because the link is still directing to donald23 from my end; all his posts have been deleted. I had reported him when I made this post, and now I'm seeing that the reports appear to have been handled (I've got more as "Good").
~snip~

My mistake - when I selected your post for a quote, I manually copied the link of that profile and left out the last number 8, thus getting the link of a completely different user. Anyway, good job, I hope you catch as many of them as possible.
534  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI Spam Report Reference Thread on: February 07, 2024, 03:25:02 PM
Well, here's another one. I'm surprised no one hasn't reported him yet, he has filled the gambling board with AI content that I'm going to need all day in order to process here. Not sure if I'd have to create a separate topic to use as a reference thread.
~snip~

The user @donald24 (https://bpip.org/Profile?p=donald24) has been banned today, and the link you posted leads to the user @Renaldas123. Anyway, gambling boards are an ideal place for all those AI spammers, although some of them get what they deserve.
535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The US Government wants your Bitcoin Miners!? on: February 07, 2024, 03:10:25 PM
If by some chance I didn't know that everything that is being asked about cryptocurrency miners comes from the US government, I would think that it was about a country where mining was illegal or maybe in a gray zone and that now that government has decided to legalize everything. This is how it turns out that the US authorities did not know anything about what they now want to know, and that they themselves have no mechanisms to find out.

Whether this is just a show for the public or whether some of the anti-Bitcoin politicians managed to lobby for the initiation of such actions remains a question to which we may one day get an answer - but all this reminds me of what happened in China before they decided to ban mining.

I think they need to tap in to all availlable tax resources to fund the real wars that they are funding. Take the "Iron Dome" in Israel for instance... it was funded by the US Government. (They are currently funding many proxy wars in other countries)

Tell me what does Israel even have that is not "made in the USA" or is it sponsored with their money? As things stand, it turns out that Israel, without US military assistance, could not defeat an enemy that does not have tanks, military planes, or any modern weapons systems.

However, I don't think that the US government is so desperate that it would try to increase its budget in such a way that it would try to take something more from crypto miners - well, their annual military budget is greater than the value of all BTC in circulation.
536  Economy / Economics / Re: "Shrinkflation" is coming back as a narrative on: February 07, 2024, 11:55:44 AM
Because the economic situation in some regions of the world continue to worsen, politicians are using newly invented economic terms like "Shrinkflation" to to blame the companies as being too greedy, and to "rationalize" the effects of printing too much money and having too much debt - that the government may never repay.

Companies are greedy, or at least most of them, and you shouldn't doubt that. The fact is that many manufacturers of food, drinks and other products have reduced the weight of the products in their packages, and in addition have raised their prices without communicating this to their customers. That speaks volumes about how much they respect those they actually live off of. However, I must admit that I found one exception, because I read a notice on one package that said something like "the quantity of this product has decreased by xx% since 202x".

Politicians are always looking for excuses for their incompetence, so even in this case it is not strange that they try to blame the poor standard of their citizens on companies that just want to make as much profit as possible. Maybe they should have thought of that when they almost completely stopped the world economy due to a virus that had a death rate of about 1% or even less, and that among people over 60 years old.

I believe as Bitcoin HODLers, we should welcome more money-printing because Bitcoin will absorb some of that excess liquidity, and make the price surge. But it should also make us more distrustful of the policy makers because they know there's no "Shrinkflation", only inflation and the negative effects of money-printing.

I would not agree that we should look forward to something that will only harm the general population in the long term, because the debts created by today's politicians will be paid by the children of our grandchildren, and that is not the inheritance we should leave them. Bitcoin will succeed even without crazy financial measures, and with all that, I'm always more for the fact that as few ordinary people as possible own as many coins as possible compared to rich individuals and companies.

There are already several topics about this, and you surely remember this one -> Shrinkflation
537  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I require your intervention on: February 07, 2024, 11:36:44 AM
Welco to the forum, first of it all, in this place, there are rules that keep members to what they should do and not, so start by reading the forum rules and regulations and see that you're fine with them
~snip~

The OP has been a member of the forum since November 2023, and since then he has written only 3 posts, and if he has not understood some things by now, it will not help him even if you once again present him with the links that others have already posted in their posts.

To me, this seems like just another in a series of alt accounts trying to catch merits. In addition, it seems that the most common occupation in Nigeria is graphic designer Roll Eyes (those who follow the forum a little better will understand the context in which I am speaking)
538  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Updates from the COPA v Craig Wright trial on: February 07, 2024, 11:19:50 AM
~snip~
If Craig was Satoshi he would just sign a message and shut everyone up, but he can't, because he's not Satoshi, so has to try prove it with forged documentation and sheer talk.

Would anyone who has ever read posts from Satoshi on this forum or private correspondence with any of the developers really think that CW is the real Satoshi even if he signed a message from any BTC address believed to belong to Satoshi? At some point, we have to accept that it may happen that someone will come into possession of the private keys of those addresses, which means that even a signed message cannot mean that someone is the original owner.

According to everything we know about Satoshi and CW, they are two completely different people in every sense. CW is nowhere near intelligent enough to play the role of Satoshi, and he shows that every day with his forged evidence - would someone who invented Bitcoin be so incompetent that he couldn't forge a single document in a way that leaves even the slightest doubt of authenticity?
539  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DO NOT plug random cables and sticks into your device. on: February 06, 2024, 04:28:16 PM
@NotATether, when I saw this first device on the list, I remembered that I saw that one of the forum members offered it for sale a few months ago, and I was curious and checked what exactly it was about. It seems that this Flipper is a very interesting and powerful device with which you can do all kinds of "naughty" things.

It seems that in addition to the usual threats from the internet, we will also have to pay attention to all these "solid" threats, especially if we use our devices outside the home environment.
540  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: AI-generated fake IDs claimed to pass crypto exchange KYC are selling for $15 on: February 06, 2024, 03:10:17 PM
You expect someone like me to believe this? If KYC passed this type of documents then they sucks at it big time, maybe they are using the old KYC verification process, anyone who use their $15 to get such KYC won't be able to pass Binance Exchange KYC verification.
~snip~

If you think that CEXs obey the law down to the smallest detail, then you are living in a big delusion, because they not only close their eyes and turn their heads to the other side whenever possible, but also help users to become legal in their system in an illegal way. The CEX you mention is one of those that owes its success precisely to its work on the edge of the law, or better said in the gray zone, which is why they are banned from working in many countries.

Some Binance employees and volunteers shared tips on forging bank documents, falsifying addresses or hiding the country of origin to secure a Binance debit card, CNBC reported, citing Binance-controlled Chinese-language chatrooms, whose messages it translated.
