521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 25, 2016, 01:13:07 PM
I'm pretty sure if Monero was listed on a single Chinese exchange, the price could easily double.
If it started trading heavily on some Chinese exchanges, a price of $20 to $30 seems like it could be possible.

not every coin does well in china and im not sure why ...
they have a strange obsession with litecoin for some reason and rank it very highly
above most other coins
522  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $1000/BTC to sell on: December 25, 2016, 01:17:08 AM
See what I did to the title?
I think you can change it now! Cheesy

Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $1000/BTC to sell

i will not sell any coins until $5k comes ......... Wink
523  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin on: December 25, 2016, 01:08:04 AM
I was surprised a few days ago the price was around $800 and now the price has gone up to $ 900. is it the development of bitcoin is moving rapidly, or is this just the price manipulation of a person, but I hope that the future of bitcoin will be like gold

It has nothing to do with the development. It's a pure wave of panic buyers that is going through the market right now. People are just blindly buying as they only focus on the price to reach $1000 any time soon. They however don't realize that the current price is already overbought. Greed is taking over heavily right now. I wouldn't want to step in at current prices. What's wrong with just having some patience to see the price go down again instead of buying right now? I am fairly sure that for now, there isn't much steam left. Correction is imminent.

there is more people on the train than ever before ,record breaking metrics every week across the board
if the price retraces any signifigant amount  it will be snapped up in a flash .....
Nations are crumbling and people are turning to btc to keep their cash safe from devaluation and confiscation
524  Economy / Speculation / Re: People should use MBITS/mBTC/Millibits already ......... on: December 25, 2016, 12:58:16 AM
I jist call 100 satoshi that or I write the thang out as 0.000001.  Why y'all gotta make up silly little sucker-ass units when you all can write up the exact quantity.  My brain don' work thata way.

what is  your first language ? maybe someone can explain it in a way your brain "works"   Roll Eyes
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: December 24, 2016, 08:08:22 PM
Is it time to invest in Ethereum?

eth is at bargain basement prices right now

This is where delusion roots originate from.

I remember trying too arm-twist people into buying Bitcoin last year, when it was $300 per Bitcoin.

Did the same for Litecoin, when it was $1.5 per Litecoin.

And, had to do the same when Dash coin was $1.90 per Dash coin.

I feel things will be just fine for Ethereum Smiley

precisely ,makes you wonder why so many doom and gloom preachers are hanging out in an eth thread  Wink
526  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where are we? on: December 24, 2016, 07:02:20 PM
If we break 1000 and then make it into the news expect a top around between 1300-2500

Precisely!

Breaking $1k would make the mainstream news and likely cause a snowball effect of new money coming into bitcoin
a feeding frenzy that would surely take us to a new ATH ....

527  Economy / Speculation / Re: People should use MBITS now ......... on: December 24, 2016, 06:42:05 PM
I assume the 'MBITS' means mBTC...?

Yes Smiley A millibitcoin is now approaching 1 USD in value, so something like 0.01 mBTC would be like 1 cent, so as something for 9.99 USD would be converted to 11.07 mBTC, just like 9.99 USD would be converted to 9.56 EUR. Using mBTC as the price expressing unit would be much more convenient Smiley

Yes sir, that's what I meant

Mbits, mBTC, millibits, millies .... And whatever else they maybe called, one thousandth of one bitcoin

If everyone switches it makes bitcoin "seem" less expensive and we will have to switch anyways  when btc goes into the 4 and then 5 figure range and most people will not be dealing in  whole coins when they're worth 10k+ etc ....
528  Economy / Economics / Re: Sell Everything? on: December 24, 2016, 05:57:49 PM
Bitcoin still consider as risky investation ( their value will decrease unexpectedly ) but in other side bitcoin can become valuable investment at one time for example, this moment, christmast on 2016 , bitcoin reach highest value since I knew bitcoin

My advice is keep most of your bitcoin as it will grow exponentially on 2019

it may grow exponentially in 2017 never mind 2019  Wink
529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NOT Upgrading to SegWit who's with me?! on: December 24, 2016, 05:56:36 PM
I'm with activating SegWit but I don't see it being activated honestly , at least not in the next few months. Looking at the charts[1][2] and how It's stable in 24-25% range for almost three weeks now make It very difficult to believe that It will get activated , I don't see what could change the miners mind to start supporting it at the moment.

[1] https://coin.dance/blocks
[2] https://blockchain.info/charts/bip-9-segwit

segwit in its current form will not activate
there is a bigger chance of bitcoin unlimited being adopted unless blockstream core
are willing to make some concession to raise their artificially imposed  1mb blocksize cap
530  Economy / Speculation / Re: We all gonna be filthy rich and here is why: on: December 24, 2016, 05:44:49 PM
Precisely, institutions and VC money stand behind it now.

During the run up to $266 and $1163 it was small timers who saw potential and libertarians who was buying. Things are different now.

fair enough but i just can't see these guys being keen on initiating bubbles by enriching the scum who held the torch for so long. i guess at some point someone has to shit or get off the pot but they didn't get rich by announcing to the world that they were gonna make others rich first.

Kim Dotcom and Vinny lingham are a  couple of people who have advised to buy btc in the past and correctly predicted a rise

KIm says $2k in 2017 and Vinny says $3k  so the market is looking rather positive wit institutions and hedge funds warming up to the idea of adding btc to their mega stack
531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: December 24, 2016, 05:37:51 PM
Is it time to invest in Ethereum?

eth is at bargain basement prices right now
its also a coin with possibly the brightest future of all coins
i will take this opportunity gladly to add to my stack ........ Cool
532  Economy / Economics / Re: Sell Everything? on: December 24, 2016, 05:35:35 PM
Sell everything -are u stupid? No not at all .if u sell all ur stuff and the next day if ur country declares that bitcoins are illegal in ur country then u l be broke and u would not be able to do anything unless pray.

If it is illegal then it will still have value. Drugs are illegal but they still have value on the free market, right? The same with bitcoin. Besides, it is impossible for a country to completely shut down bitcoin, unless it shuts down all bitcoin users.

I think that it is a good idea to sell your fiat for bitcoins.

this is the most sound advice  in the whole thread
fiat currency is worthless paper that loses value year on year
get rid of it as fast as you can and buy something real like btc ,gold or land etc

almost anything is better than increasingly worthless fiat paper
533  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NOT Upgrading to SegWit who's with me?! on: December 24, 2016, 04:52:47 PM
segwit cannot be easily undone and there is a danger that funds in segwit addreses could be spendable by anyone (stolen)
if segwit has to be rolled back

hopefully the litecoin experiment can be used as a working testnet while a better solution is developed

if we have to use segwit ,give everyone plenty of warning and do it via HF in combination with a blocksize increase
534  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you think will be a best time to buy bitcoin? on: December 24, 2016, 04:18:49 PM
The demand for bitcoin is still high, so also the publicity is getting to the end of the world. I cant state the price it could get now because 2017 promise a busy blockchain. With most prediction it get higher toward the end of the year, so the early months into the end of the year could be a better time

if this rise is covered in mainstream media it could start a panic frenzy and a new ATH
i would rather have my coins safe than be waiting to buy them in case that happens .......

I hope it is not covered so that I can buy more now.

it will be in the news for sure  ,esp in tech and financial publications  soon as they
looking back over 2016  Bitcoin  was the investment that beat gold and property and stocks and everything else and looks poised to do it again in 2017 .......
better to have your btc bought and secured safe in your cold storage
than a handful of devaluing cash when the price jumps to $3k+  ....

536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NOT Upgrading to SegWit who's with me?! on: December 24, 2016, 03:14:39 PM
Litecoin will do segwit anyway so people may decide to wait and see that result first
537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NOT Upgrading to SegWit who's with me?! on: December 24, 2016, 02:39:42 PM
Isn't a soft fork the better option for all concerned? Or am I missing anything?

not really when you account for zombie nodes that cant fully understand the new txs  ........
and the blocksize  gains are exaggerated because they only work if everyone moves into segwit
and all txs are segwit txs (and everyone isnt onboard ......yet)
the signature data is also  bloated compared to a simpler solution like a 4mb block or a dynamic blocksize
that starts at 1.1MB and rise slowly  as btc grows .......

LN can be incorporated into a larger /dynamic block without segwit if it is deemed to carry too much technical debt into the future
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - Prime Gap Search - New Math Algo - CPU / GPU - Zero Premine on: December 24, 2016, 02:32:47 PM
I thought this was interesting coin.  I am still holding everything I mined.  What else is there to do?

i still retain mine also ,i think this is a project worth restarting if anyone else is interested we should apply to be relisted on some new exchanges
539  Economy / Speculation / Re: Holy crap heading past $1,000 !!! on: December 24, 2016, 02:31:02 PM
Remember, what goes up must come down. Don't be greedy guys.  Grin
Very true, but people dont understand it. They go mad in the dreams of getting rich. They keep on holding and holding and holding, thinking about becoming a billioner, but end up with no profit. At this time, it would be wise to sell atleast a part of your total btc and keep the rest for your dreams. Its obviously the right time to sell!

Most people are selling their coins now but at a high market price and hence they are not able to find buyers. Exchanges are offering a lower price than preev.com and hence sellers need to check what price is appropropriate and how much profit they would get by selling it. Due to the hiked price, buyers are not willing to invest in btc and are waiting for it to fall.

Last time when it reached $900, after few weeks the price went up to $1300 and fell directly to $800. These instabilities indicate that we should just sell instead of buying or holding.

there is always a dip after every sharp rise ,until there isnt ........ Cheesy
be careful if you dump your coins prematurely and the price keeps rising
so you are unable to buy them back .........

sell a few if you like ,get a nice car or blow a bit of cash
certaintly dont sell the majority as btc is still in its infancy
and a lot of growth is coming .......
