521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: February 07, 2024, 07:07:09 PM
My friends aunty called him on the call while we were conversing today, and  she was complaining about how her son has withdrawn #20,000 approximately $15 from her account through mobile transfer to play bet and he lost it all.
She complained bitterly and pitifully because she struggled to safe such amount of money.
Hold on did you just say from the mobile transfer account???
This clearly shows access was given to the son by the Mother and she is responsible for whatever happens here and shouldn't be complaining of this lost money...

Now, the mum is calling on everyone she could to intervene, discipline the child and force him to provide the money in any means he can without the concern of how he could refund the money.
It's unfortunate it happened this way, but sorry I still blame the mum for all this despite her going round trying to get an intervention which won't happen...and you know what it's difficult to stop a young man from gambling when they just started unless a replacement hobby is found like a job or gaming....

Dear fellows, let's assume you are the mom, what would be your state of mind on this context?
Mum playing the blame game but unfortunately she has everything to do with the sons gambling as she funds him which is where the solution is...stop giving him money on a silver platter.
522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet.io AFCON 2024 prediction pool discussion thread on: February 07, 2024, 02:30:35 PM
Now that today will be game day for the host nation who have an opportunity to write history day, from almost being eliminated to fighting their way all the way to the semi finals and possibly getting to play in the finals am not sure if I should back them..but remembering the EURO 2016 of Portugals journey qualifying as third ranked team and going all the way to win it, am thinking this could be that journey these lads are taking...and the bookies are all favouring this team to win but to play it safe invest to wait for team news, otherwise am not convinced these guys can beat Congo DR with the last card damage(yellows and red) they got... otherwise tough match to call!!

For the Nigerian match , we all know who is taking this one and don't want to spoil the fun..
Good luck ladies and gentlemen!

My favourite for the championship is Nigeria this year.

AFCON 2024 started officially last night. I think that Nigeria can become champions surprisingly in Osimhen's lead this year.

I have terrible predictions in the AFCON pool this year and it is impossible for me to win a prize unfortunately. However Nigeria are progressing just as I expected. Are the people who were against me about my saying Nigeria would win at the beginning of the tournament still thinking the same? Or are they thinking that the favourite of the tournament is Nigeria?
Walking the talk, nice catch just hope they do it with 2games to go!!!
Let's go Nigeria...

Btw depending on how much you wagered for Nigeria to win, you could consider other options as an assurance bet.. Ivory Coast to win or Congo DR to win Roll Eyes
523  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Most Traders are Not Profitable on: February 06, 2024, 06:39:38 PM
A lot of traders are not as profitable as they claim to be. I don't know the exact percentage but I can say and stand to be corrected that 95% of traders even the so called professionals are not profitable.
I think these numbers have been like this for a very long time and need to be updated as the game of trading has become much easier and understandable thanks to readily available resources all over the internet to help people trade profitably..and honestly its safe say we have more winners out there than we did back then!!

How do I know this through simple deduction. 95% of these unprofitable traders make their money through other means and their unsuspecting followers don't know this. Some of the means are
- starting a YouTube channel and making money of
a) affiliate program
b) YouTube ads

- Having a paid course.
- Trading signals
- Selling trading merch
- impressions
- and others.
Kind of true and unfortunately many of our influencer traders have done the math that they can actually make more money doing this than the actual trading which is why they are going off course these passive ways of making money.

The true 5% of traders that are very successful and profitable do not even have a YouTube channel (only a very few exceptions). They are strictly for trading only, day in and say out.
This isnt entirely true as some have gone to open up YouTube or Social media accounts as a way to help others Users trade correctly  & profitably and not sorely for the passive income. Btw it's easy to say successful traders don't get to have YouTube channels only because these might have other day jobs and kind of trade as a side hustle!!
524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pay off DEBT by do Gambling? think again before you loss more on: February 06, 2024, 05:34:15 PM
I have a hanging out friend who is having trouble paying his house installments, he wanted to borrow money from me but I didn't give it to him because I didn't have the amount he was borrowing at that time, I advised him to borrow from another friend but their answer was still the same, finally, he was a little desperate and with the little money he had he put the money into the online slot application, unfortunately, instead of succeeding in doubling his money, he lost all his money because he lost in the online slot application
What you just described shows that gambling can never be the answer to ones problems especially if you aren't familiar to this art and have no strategy to get to where you want to go..

And just so you know, when it comes to gambling and someone is under pressure things usually never go your way as you are in a desperate mode and not in the right mindset which means reckless decisions can be made.

The valuable message that can be taken from my friend above is never take risks to gamble to pay off your debts, the pressure is very big, the chance is very small that you can pay off your debts, often you end up losing even more and losing your money. look for loans, sell your valuables or look for part-time work to pay off your debts, is a good way rather than playing the small money you have in gambling
Agreed, if it's not fun based gambling without any commitments don't gamble.

If financing is an option do take it to avoid unnecessary pressure on yourself.
525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the view of an average citizen About crypto currencies on: February 06, 2024, 10:23:36 AM
The future of crypto currencies is unknown,  but it is a new generation of Money which is already replacing the paper currency, especially Bitcoin been the most popular and successful among other crypto currencies so far, bitcoiners need to know that currently Bitcoin is trading low from its all time high, Bitcoin should not be viewed as a short term Investment, but should be seeing as a long term life changing investment due to its liquidity and high returns when trading high.
This writing above doesn't sit well with me as this is imposing how exactly we should use Bitcoin..when in fact BTC is a multipurpose asset that isn't restricted to one use only!!!
As far as I know, BTC use depends on its user and not a one size fits all kind of use , think of it as gold 2.0. With gold, the contempt behind having it is usually for long-term investment purposes which is the traditional way of handling it but with the coming of Bitcoin aka digital gold, we surely can't go the same path...if you want to treat it as gold you are welcome go ahead and do so, and if you want to treat it as a daily currency as a medium of exchange then you are also welcome to do so without any restrictions!

Bitcoin is a digital currency that has come to stay, as long as the internet stays , most persons that didn't believe in Bitcoin 10years ago regretted it, that will be also be the case for people who don't be in it now come 2034.so think positively take the risk and Investment in Bitcoin today.
Bitcoin is here to stay for sure, but an average citizen will be put off by price as they have the misconception that to own Bitcoin one needs to buy a whole bitcoin which is far from the truth. If we want more users to jump on board then more work needs to go into this to remove such barriers and to disseminate the right information to eliminate all kinds of FUD.
Otherwise in the the digital age we live in, you can not afford to miss out on this crypto revolution which comes with numerous advantages.
526  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: February 05, 2024, 09:40:25 PM

I regret why I decided to pick Rashford instead of Hojlund (I was confused which one to pick between these 2 players), I would have 6/7 already if I stayed with Hojlund which means I will have great chance to get 7/7 with Julian Alvarez for City as the last key. $25 free bet is already on my hand tough and the $50 free bet will come if Julian Alvarez score a goal in the next several hours. Looking at the fact that I have 5/7 this round, I guess there are also many others who get the same or even 6/7 so far in this round. Maybe we will see an announcement from Fortunejack that there is/are jackpot winner(s) this round tomorrow.
Ouch this one should hurt, and the problem with Manchester United is that there is so much inconsistency with the team which makes it difficult to pick goal scorers, one weekend Rashford is the performer next two weekends nowhere near the goal post.. and this applies with Hojlund and everyone else at MU...would feel more comfortable going with fantastic "SCott" Tongue

Better luck next time  Cool

Btw, seeing the performance of your picks hope you do play actual Fantasy Football, as these are some great results which show you know your football  Wink

Am I the only one seeing this on my dashboard ??

OVERDUE...cant even remember if I actually submitted my picks here, but if I did should be more than a 5 correct  Roll Eyes

528  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is the only currency that has grown the most!! on: February 05, 2024, 04:43:57 PM
I think the only reason it seems like Bitcoin is the currency that has grown the most its because it's the most relevant and the king of all coins.

But as far as I know, nobody is paying much attention to other coins as the price is the measure of success from the pool of thousands of coins we have out there...and the fact that we have coins still under the radar posting some big numbers in terms of ROI and its only because that they are in cents are still crawling to the top...BItcoins $40000 price does mask a lot of stuff behind it but it's certainly not the best performing..
529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you make gambling a profession - a full time job on: February 05, 2024, 04:28:24 PM
All professions out there have their advantages and disadvantages and will always have someone discouraging you based on the Cons of it...
but when it comes to gambling most of the time we think of it as you being the gambler doing the actual gambling/wagering which is a high risk option AFAIK, but have any of us thought of it as you being the proprietor of the gambling business which takes the risk away from you and could actually be a good business if you have the resources and time to run such a business Roll Eyes Unless my suggestion doesn't count for being a gambling profession, write it off.

I think this only makes sense (make gambling a profession) if you own your own casino or sportsbook.
Great to see someone having the same line of thought  Cool
530  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will government recognition kill cryptocurrency or boost! on: February 05, 2024, 10:17:43 AM
Government recognition was supposed to help Bitcoin grow to a much popular digital currency as it brings it mainstream resulting in more demand for cryptocurrencies...but unfortunately things have gone the opposite direction which is unexplainable!! Is this reaction of price saying Bitcoin regulation isn't a supported development or maybe actual frameworks to allow these to operate are still a work in progress despite the green light,  Otherwise I still feel we haven't seen the best of these guys (institutional investors)!

Btw, "Will government recognition kill cryptocurrency or boost" killing the markets I don't think so, crypto is still decentralized before anything..I think we all expect this to be a boost to cryptocurrency, what we have experienced is a slight disruption to the market as new market drivers are introduced which should show their influence sooner or later, for now we wait to see the power of institutional money in the crypto industry.

Yes, the government will try to acquiring Bitcoin as much as they can, currently centralized exchanges already acquiring huge amount of coins, remember government can easily work together with centralized exchanges, if the CEX reject that, the government can easily shut down the CEX.

When almost all Bitcoins are owned by government and CEX, they will issues fake Bitcoin e.g. Bitcoin IOU and keep the real coins in their own wallet.
sounding like an El Salvador move of acquiring Bitcoin..

Btw, this whole acquiring of bitcoin with the approved Spot ETFs, isn't this private hands doing this unlike the government themselves???

Afaik there role here is being regulator only not acting as BUyer and Seller at the same time!

On the other hand i saw the news about Haaland and Madrid from Fabrizio on X.

We know that currently the rumour about Haaland  and Madrid are also still growing although not as big as the hype of  Mbappe but with the statement contracted by Pep and the source  is Fabrizio it doesn't rule out the possibility that there is currently a closeness that is slightly covered by Madrid and also Manchester City regarding negotiations for Haaland future.
With Mbappe believed to be making a move to Real Madrid after this season...

honestly, this is a bad move for Halaad especially since these two play almost the same position..and if Halaand wants to keep enjoying the fame better he remains in England.

Btw, Halaads stay at City has connections with his Dad playing there but why would he just leave so soon when his enjoying the media coverage.. the fame.. the money etc, Real Madrid is a no for me, and for the record going to Spain this star could be prone to injuries as players arent protected as much as we do in England, guys are rough there...
532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet.io AFCON 2024 prediction pool discussion thread on: February 04, 2024, 09:06:22 PM
Well seems like the luck of ivory coast is never ending, Mali missing a penalty and also missing the chance of win with one more player sin first half.

We already said this but, seems like is gonna be hard to stop Ivory coast from being the champion.
Am on the same boat of this and I think the  script is favouring ivory Coast getting to win it , but I think the last game did some serious damage with some key players being yellow carded and missing the important clash which should see them in the finals..but am sorry I think it's end of the road for the hosts when the Semis come.

Otherwise if Nigeria survives from this group of the last four they are winning it for sure!!

Having gone for Ivory Coast after a late change from Mali in the pool, am feeling the pressure from this game...

How did Mali move from not getting awarded the penalty the first time to getting the penalty the second time and not making it count  Cry

You know what, if it's not your day you can't win but Mali is enjoying more of the ball than the hosts and am wondering how the bookies got Ivory Coast as favourites when they not showing their authority in the game..

If this won't go to penalties it will be one of those controversial games to get a winner with some drama..

Someone help me understand, am watching the Newcastle - Luton match which by the way are are now in winning position but something I find odd about this match is the advertisement on both the fixed and electronic advertising board's...how many betting companies are suppose to show up here because naturally Sportsbet.io being a sponsor will show up on these boards...but why do other gambling companies get to enjoy this exposure here Huh Is this a secondary source of funds for the club??
537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: February 03, 2024, 11:28:54 AM
It's a natural assumption to think successful gambling is as good as gambling more hence the addiction, but I think being a successful gambler can mean anything, it could mean gambling less and being profitable in it or its simply your profession and you know the art of making the money 💸 💰.

Besides successful gamblers can not fall into this bracket of addicted because they know the ins and outs of this industry which includes not over gambling..

Congo the comeback kings!!

I expect Congo to come through with a winner in the second half after that bad call from the Ref to award a penalty which was not deserved by Guinea, but it is what it is when VAR is incompetent no offence...

Congo should be up for the challenge and see them taking this one easily...

Hope am not late for any action here as I was catching up with the Asian games and game is in extra time with Australia almost winning that one but unfortunately South Korea got an equaliser to push for extra time..

Now locked in for the Nigeria-Angola game, and so far Nigeria has just taken the lead thanks to a lookman thunderbolt goal which looks like it could be what's sending them to the Semis and it's well deserved with the amount of possession they have enjoyed!!

And this being the AFCON, I wouldn't be surprised if the match ends as is (1-0) but to be on the safe side these guys need an insurance goal.
