521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A good way to promote Bitcoin or not? on: January 17, 2023, 11:11:41 AM
That will be ok for businesses that are completely independent of the fiat system otherwise a society that is dependent on the system will be against you in the future once they understand that Bitcoin can't be subject to it, leading to problems for your business.
Just make sure you own the shop, produce the wine yourself, or atleast the one you rented the shop from and the sources for the ingredients for making the wine should also be independent people who use Bitcoin for transactions.

My views are based on long-term implications of the path you choose today.
522  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Pumping After The Arrest of Sam on: January 16, 2023, 04:36:14 PM
This kind of news would not make Bitcoin excited or move up as long as the ones who control it are not excited seeing people arrested or punished.
The bull was actually predicted last year and early this year by Bitcoin Master and it has been moving exactly as predicted.

Mine would be anything that's good and related to my role in life. Basically things that are mobile and can easily be moved around to different places. Currently invested in mobile farming that produces foods all year round.
525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of stake is bad and why bitcoin is the only crypto I would trust on: January 16, 2023, 11:55:01 AM
Why I think proof of stake is bad and bitcoin is the only true decentralized crypto. Everything else is a scam as we have seen with so many major altcoins imploding over the years. Anyone else agree?

1. Proof of stake tokens such as ethereum can be generated out of thin air in unlimited amounts. The creators can give themselves as much as they want and dump it onto the market whenever they want. Proof of stake is no better than the fiat money system where money can be printed by the central bank in unlimited amounts.

2. As we have seen over the years maybe 90 to 95% of crytpo scams have been perpetrated on the ethereum blockchain.

3. That is why proof of work is so much better. It takes a lot of work and effort to mine the bitcoins. Bitcoin cannot be simply generated out of thin air like ethereum and other sh*tcoins. Ethereum and 99% of altcoins are unregistered securities....

4. Bitcoin is the only crypto I can think of that doesn't have a leader or small group of people controlling it, which makes bitcoin perhaps the only digital asset that is really trustless.. ..

There are probably many other reasons why I believe proof of stake is terrible but these are a few I can think of right now.

One of the main reasons it's very bad is that unlike Bitcoin PoW you can't be part of full network consensus if you don't have alot of  money or the required amount of money (which most participants typically can't afford) ... Better still, you can't take part in proper Governance and/or Consensus if you don't have alot of money, and this kind of make power reside in the hands of few like your number 4 point suggest. That is the typical corruption you see in third world countries... The kind of 3rd world corruption that force the subjects to rise up against ruling elites who allowed or invented such corrupt way of governance.

In regards to your number 3 point, solving problems or generating money/value requires energy, but PoS people don't seem to like that too much. They seem to want a system that make them alot of money without working hard or consuming the amount of energy that is needed to make the money. They can't escape this unless they build devices that use energy efficiently without compromising on hardwork
526  Other / Meta / Re: Bounty spammer meets AI Chat generator. Can they be banned on the spot? on: January 15, 2023, 01:01:47 PM
In certain gatherings comments like that would be given massive round of applause not because they make any sense, are relevant or true, but because of the "powerful" grammer or vocabularies that are used.
It would be great if people focused more on relevant comments (comments relevant to what is being discussed) even if their grammar or vocabularies seem poor/weak. I have observed certain posters who don't really write well but have strong points and relevant comments. You would notice their posts value or relevance if they were rewritten by a qualified English professor. And you could easily notice the meaninglessness of AI generated texts for example if they were rewritten by someone with poor grammar.

I believe it's best to attract those with strong interest & passion for Bitcoin/crypto otherwise we will have a forum full of people applauding or even meriting meaningless comments/posts because of their powerful grammar. Such comments will likely be boring and easily noticed by passionate members even though they look attractive. And the passion could help in the understanding of relevant/reasonable comments written by members with poor English
527  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Asking for guidance on how to implement a protocol to boost Bitcoin usage. on: January 12, 2023, 04:23:09 PM
To boost Bitcoin usage you need to build an auxiliary System that imitate a Nation so that it can help serve as some sorts of self-sustaining system with a circular/interdependent economy that uses Bitcoin as its Native/National currency.
To succeed in this I  would suggest you focus on building a Bitcoin system that could exists as Virtual Nation or as Decentralized Operating system like Window/Andriod. And such system must be according to the Bitcoin ideals so that it's safely Interoperable with Bitcoin or existing more like compatible Lego you can plug into the Bitcoin building/foundation to exchange data. It should be an open system anyone can download and run to help keep it functional.
I tried to avoid the technical terms associated with this in order to keep things simple

Hi Ucy! Thank you for this input Smiley
I think that what you are proposing will tend to evolve naturally from the "metaverse"/"web3" ecosystems, isn't?

Before we reach that point, by now, I'm aiming to "the streets", to say. "Parallel Nations", in strongly regulated (socialist) countries (like mine), are essentially what "non official markets" are. I'm avoiding the term "black market" because it haves a negative connotation in first world countries, but in socialist countries "black markets" are the "good markets". Nothing illegal goes there except that the exchanges are not subjected to government oppression in it's many forms (inflation, taxation, confiscation, banning, limitation, segregation, racketeering, lobby, etc).

So we already have this self-sustaining systems up and running on the streets as a means of survival (the culture started after the 2001 national crisis, when the first full parallel economy spontaneously grew). The only eternal problem is the currency, which is still limited to the national currency for the vast majority of the population. To make bitcoin a viable currency, there has to be a way to deal with it's volatility, to allow mass adoption. The protocol I'm pointing to proposes a solution, which do not implies to try to control bitcoin's price.

If you could take a look at it, I would really appreciate it Smiley

Sorry for the late reply @didIplaywell. I actually want something that's built wholly for Bitcoin system with bitcoin serving as it's main native currency. You could eventually include other foreign currencies/crypto in the future. I don't really fancy the web3/metaverse things that much as they could be built on ideals (like consensus mechanism) I find unsafe for regular usage.

In regards to the bolded, you could check out one of my solutions to the volatility issue you raised. You can go through my other post before this.
Bitcoin will be a good alternative currency in such parallel state, especially when the need arises like during a national/global dictatorship, tyranny, choas or economic crisis. Tyrants will try to impose their will on parallel state as they could be seen as a threat... A good mobile or nomadic state that uses Bitcoin will be hard to control
528  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Market Place for Multi Vendors on: January 12, 2023, 03:57:53 PM
Things like this could be sustainable globally if you have enough people earning bitcoins and coming to your shop to spend them instead of converting their national currencies to Bitcoin before spending... unless you have very useful things that can't be easily found anywhere else.. or sell things in somewhat fixed price in national currencies that are always adjusted automatically to their equivalent prices in Bitcoin.
529  Other / Off-topic / Re: benefits of defeat on: January 12, 2023, 09:34:08 AM
Defeat: An opponent having a victory over you in a challenge, competition or a fight.

Well, don't fight a battle you can't win. Better to be prepared to avoid defeat. And make sure your opponent is not wiser than you. The wise ones can easily defeat those who are bigger or more muscular than they are. And this also applies to any challenges you come across.

In regards to "good critics", I hope people don't see them as opponents or competitors so they don't feel defeated when no one is fighting or trying to defeat them.
530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and its trading on exchanges. on: January 11, 2023, 02:03:31 PM
This year promises to be a year of big regulations from the SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. If bitcoin is recognized as a commodity, then it should be traded under the same rules as oil, gold and other similar goods. Therefore, bitcoin may be banned from trading on many crypto exchanges until these exchanges receive the necessary licenses.Where am I wrong?

Well, the truth is that if Bitcoin is banned on centralized exchanges the price will rise significantly because it's good development for Bitcoin... Good development makes it bullish.
Bitcoin has been "reconfigured" to react properly to news since it was captured in 2021 by those who mean well. The good news that will make it rise more significantly is when more people are trading it in decentralized peer-to-peer manner.
Whatever they choose to call it doesn't really matter much so long as it's not true. The fact is that it's a decentralized system with an internal currency called Bitcoin.
531  Other / Meta / Re: My contribution to a near-perfect Merit-based ranking system for Bitcointalk on: January 11, 2023, 10:00:28 AM
Every single work or post should have a chance to be reviewed by other people. We could have a little "submit for review" button below or above each post which will enable other members go through a work to review it, earn reward for the review as well as  reward those they are reviewing, in privacy-friendly manner.

1. How are the reviewer selected?
2. What is the reward? If it's cryptocurrency, token or fiat, who will pay the reviewer?
3. Is there anyone who can ensure/check quality of the review?

1. Concerning  your number 1 question "How are the reviewer selected?"
*Here are my Answers:
It can be similar to how they are  "selected" on this forum, meaning everyone is free to join or be part of the reviewers. We can however use their grading or what they write to determine the quality of their review and rank them according to their review quality. If someone is reviewing post/work on economy, his/her review should be true/accurate... that could be a proof he/she has good understanding of what is being reviewed and making accurate judgment. Ranking the reviewers is a great way to raise quality review without closing the review system or preventing people from participating. If someone is consistently making reviews that are proven to be wrong, their reviews won't have much power as people review power will depend on how well or badly they reviews and this will be proof-based by simply attaching the bad reviews that have been proven wrong to the reviews left by others in their reviews.

2. What is the reward? If it's cryptocurrency, token or fiat, who will pay the reviewer?

My answer: Reward doesn't necessarily have to be in Crypto, token or fiat. It simple should be in Points like the current Forum "merit point"... though my particular merit point will be used right and not that easy to earn so that people will find it valuable. It would be scare if it's only going to good quality posts or post that really solve problems properly without creating more problems, otherwise the points should not be too high. If merit point is abused, given too much or given wrongly, a reviewer can demerit post with proof that the given merit points are not deserved, then the point could go to the reviewer or is canceled.
#By the way, this is a proof-based merit/review system that I'm proposing

3. Is there anyone who can ensure/check quality of the review?

My answer:
The top ranked reviewers can always ensure review quality in the department they have strengths in. Refer to my answer to your number 1 question to see how reviewers are ranked. That will be used to ensure quality of reviews/reviewers

This post is already too long to accommodate multiple posts from different posters. Will hopefully reply some or most other posters on different post

Op made a terrible mistake which I hope others will not repeat. There are certain people you take seriously on the forum or Cryptospace (who are helping to protect it behind the scene) even though they are not popular as they don't actually like being popular.  We are surrounded by enemies who hate this space and want to conquer it. Members are impenetrable and can't be successful attacked because of a Shield but if any mishaves or mistreat the ones protecting them, their shield may be weakened. Believe this if you want to last on this space and continue to take care of your family. . Sorry for your lose.
By the way, I notice you believe in GOD and I hope you understand the spiritual world exist. That's part of where I'm assigned. It's a waste of time and resources to fight only the physical battle. Once you are defeated in the spirit it's over. So  we need people on the forum fighting in both existence. Let's considered them too.
If you need proof to know whether I'm telling the truth, you will get it. You are free to doubt me without the proof

534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Create wealth first before the use of bitcoin on: January 10, 2023, 02:35:51 PM
I have always come across people giving stories to promote bitcoin or give awareness of bitcoin in rural areas. It is a very nice job to tell people about bitcoin because it is the major currency in the world. In this rural area how can bitcoin be used when majority of people in the town are battling with poverty,  and how can bitcoin be used when majority don't have access to Internet.  I think people in rural area needs to be financially stable first before knowing bitcoin.

What rural area are you referring to? Is it a village or town? The bolded parts of your post doesn't really mix well as I always assume a rural area unlike town is a settlement with few dwellers.

In regards to the topic, don't always assume that anyone who looks rural is poor or battling with poverty. The typical rural people own animals, lands, grow their own foods etc. I think decentralized tech could expose them to more knowledgeable people who live similar lifestyle, understand them better and have things they need to live a better and more healthy lifestyle, like good and affordable healthcare system, homes, education, etc. basically things that can be towed to their community when they need them. When it comes to providing internet access, we could get them the decentralized alternative that is easy to deploy and more suitable for such settlement. I think true cryptocurrency community have lots of libertarian minded people and the likes (excluding the evil/worthless anarchy) who are at the position to help advance such society in a unique manner.

Our CREATOR is the Ultimate controller/ruler... humans control is as important as what the CREATOR allows. To understand how the CREATOR actually Rules you need to watch the paths followed by rivers. Imagine the rivers are humans(or destinies) while the paths they follow were made for people who deserve the paths.   So, a human leader who leads others through a path would think he is in control while in fact he is only following the path made for those who choose such path.
And you can only be on the Right or Wrong Path.

Those who control the world are only controlling what they are allowed by the CREATOR to control. You won't be wrong if you call it a false sense of control

538  Other / Meta / My contribution to a near-perfect Merit-based ranking system for Bitcointalk on: January 07, 2023, 11:23:10 AM
Today I was going through a topic on Merit created by Theymos (on Jan 24 2018) called  "Merit & new rank requirements". I spent some reasonable amount of time reading through the post and digesting it in order to understand why the merit system was really created. Atlast I realized the intention was genuine... I didn't pay too much attention to the reward system in the past because I concluded it was going to be abused as long as human being is concerned. For example, human biases or emotions as it relates to such reward systems is a very important factor that has to be considered if you want a near perfect reward system. If some people are disliked by much of a society due to their impartiality and strict adherence to good morals they will likely not benefit much from certain reward system and the society will definitely suffer for not being guided by their best. It's more like hating humans in zombielands who are trying to persuade full-blown zombies to stop killing people and sucking their blood, plus other hate going to half-turned zombies for liking the posts of the humans. How do we solve this problem? The problem should be solved by using a reward system that incentivizes everyone to search for solutions (generally called useful contributions) and faults/issues in the works or posts submitted by people for review, preferably in an anonymous/privacy-friendly environments to grade/reward them accordingly. The anonymity will help in the case of those who aren't liked that much or those who fear rewarding those that are hated for their good/revolutionary views.
Every single work or post should have a chance to be reviewed by other people. We could have a little "submit for review" button below or above each post which will enable other members go through a work to review it, earn reward for the review as well as  reward those they are reviewing, in privacy-friendly manner. No need to know your reviewers so you don't create a situation where everyone will be trying to please certain people for reward, whether they are right or wrong... or situation where people will be afraid to give certain kind of reward in order not to be hated.  There is a reason why the eyes of images of judges with sword and scale are covered.

The Merit-based ranking system should really be based on Merit otherwise it should not be used to prevent people from ranking up or qualifying them for Signature campaigns.
Only post with little to no fault/issue should earn high merit. We can aswell grade all the posts and give them the merit they deserve(whether high or low merit), meaning most/all will be going through merit system in order to be graded rather than being outrightly ignored/neglected.

* Really give good rewards to only good works/posts otherwise you will share in the punishment reserved for evil posts/works that you reward.

* Good Work/Post is solution with useful contributions that solve problems properly and increase the quality of life/existence, without creating more problems.

* Be sure not to call evil Good or Good evil... as it's written "Woe to those who called evil Good and Good evil

539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it advisable to memorize seed phrase? on: January 06, 2023, 06:06:41 PM
I read that one of the best ways to preserve a seed phrase is to write it on a piece of paper and keep it in a safe place... Somewhere safe could be in your home out of the reach of family members and friends, it could also be a safe deposit box. But not everyone are financially buoyant to afford the services of a deposit box.

I believe we must have seen or heard about fire outbreaks, where buildings are completely erased by fire. Imagine if the owner or occupant of such a building has some Bitcoin assets, and has his/her phone, tablet, laptop and the seed phrase piece of paper in the building and everything was lost to fire. Now, this brings me to the question... Can seed phrase be memorized? It's advisable to memorize seed phrase?

Better to write them down (without memorizing) on flat sheet of fire-proof metals and bury in multiple places at home inside in the ground where you can easily remember you buried them.
The problem with memorizing is that you can give it away or it can be stolen from you when you are drunk/drugged, in the dream/sleep, subconsciously etc
