So BTC/Crypto is still following the stock market up down and sideways..hardly encouraging...especially with the BTC having https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/bitcoin-clock/ only 20

days away.

This whole world from finance to crypto and pandemic is beyond black swan event(s) it seems.

Well, interesting as hell if you like 'horror' movies I guess. I wonder what the next month of calamities will entail?

So BTC/Crypto 'decouple' from the stock market already, streak marks on my underwear are becoming a common event damn it! Sad

523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: April 20, 2020, 08:44:26 PM
Tell me why SIA is not a shitcoin.

if you think that SIA is a shitcoin, simply find another topic and follow another project
5 years of working on a shitcoin here is too much for you to understand

it is a sh*tcoin in the sense that with the 85% of mining ASIC's from other vendors, that was dumped on the algo switch there is 10x the siacoin in the world that sia-tech expected..even though

they NOW again have a private network for their decentralized and anonymous store of info system using siacoin..they originally dreamed of! Before other ASIC's stole their thunder and pushed

up difficulty and siacoin out in the world way more than their original plans, due to the lateness of their ASIC's hitting the world. (They also owe me $600 supposed compensation for such lateness

they promised...I will likely never

I think they better get a move on making it worth doing storage on such a network..which as of now does not work even on very cheap used hd's etc and certainly

not something a hobbyist can ever make money on now! I'm talking 'break even' is far away even more daunting to put something up as a portal or node or even HD storage for

non-tech usual hobby types...they are generating no hype/or interest in their project just concentrating on coding w/o these details...losing out on a lot of maybe interested folk.

The other problem is ..folks have told me that they are moving into using big centralized data storage companies and systems..which also hardly seems decentralized

so if they want to get this project to work they better show some 'economic' reasons even if it is only break-even to put my $$$ into even a hobby node or portal and or

storage on siacoin vision....or it will just collapse under its own weight

I mean no one ever got in trouble with their bit giant amazon cloud kinda storage solution an IT guy is not gonna risk his job farming out sia-techs network at this time

why take the risk? What is the point...continue to use amazon cloud..never heard of siacoin and the project and if the IT guy has certainly his boss has not heard of such!

So some decentralized storage from the ground on up among hobbyists and regular folk better start first IMHO to get some hype going on this...or they are just spinning air

IMHO...and such.

By the By, the siacoin wallet also sucks..why not have the siastats.info www page ...going out of the wallet to hit that info to just get the siacoin address is just silly

information button or something on the wallet and what is with only able to use control c and control v to cut and paste? Have they never heard of right-click mouse cut/paste?

Also, why do I have to go all the way to the web site www.siastats.info to plug-in transaction id info to see the wallet address the siacoin came from? Why can't that show

also the wallet address along with transition Id?....I mean it is all very low-end amateur compared to even the most basic BTC wallets...

So the stuff like that drives me crazy ..they are not taking care of important minor details and no real push for folk to do storage nor instructions for the layperson...and ramp such up

even it is just to play with ..no FAQ I could see even to just experiment with the wallet options on storage on your puny 3gig HD as well just to learn such.

So if the project is siacoin/mining/storage as a 3 legged stool....storage part of all this is like 3 years behind the others IMHO..

anyway

they need to fix the stuff above and generally step it up Smiley

WTB Gen2-Gen 4 Dual Slims or Dual Singles (1 heatsink models) 1.1 TH at 900 watts.

Pretty much full up on Gen 1's at 800gh and 750 watts, all 3 board (full) units, unless you simply 'giving them' away, at this point in time Smiley

So our 'dubious' faith in POW mining continues (long term) for after this Black Swan Event and BTC Halving and other

528  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 15, 2020, 04:37:20 PM
Off topic, but what I am really fucking hating right now is Bitcoin's new found correlation with the traditional markets, annoying as all hell.

Yep.

This either breaks or we will find that BTC is just another speculative asset that will likely take 7-12 years to come back like the stock market if we are
in a deep recession as I suspect. Still, BTC will have its usage, but that IMHO, would show 'adoption' is reached like gold and now BTC would just bring
returns as normal investment, except for the small problem of 7-12 years to come back along with the stock market with the pandemic at all.
So ..that would truly suck for BTC NOT to be a 'store of value' and just another speculative asset that gets dumped at the start of any bad times economically.
Thus if that is the case, the banks will eventually win, take over blockchain and we are all screwed. Not there yet but this stock market and BTC chained at the
hip to the stockmarket has to break or we are utterly screwed as a store of value for BTC as well as using BTC as any method to hedge against inflation with all the
money printing of trillions going around in the world now...(scared self...shudder) Sad

529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FujiCoin | Japan | Since 2014 | The Best Crypto Currency on: April 14, 2020, 12:31:33 AM
This sounds similar to the Garlic Coin discussion from a few years ago. They asked me for opinions on the Titans and that the Titans were crowding out the GPUs.

I did some research and found that at a N value of around 14 the Titan would be similar in hashing speed to a 8gb top of the line video card. 16 would be similar to a 4gb GPU. So I recommended they raise the N factor from 11 to 14. Instead they went with a completely different algo to knock the Titans out and the coin totally failed.

Similar thought here: If you think the problem with FJC is that the Titans keep people with video cards out of the game (they do at 11) then bring the N factor up a bit and see what happens. Technically it should make no difference to the current miners, their hash rate will go down but the difficulty will then adjust and they will make the same amount of coin. At a certain level then GPUs can come in and make coin (all of this ignores value as FJC is worth < 1 sat right now) at a level parity with whatever titans are still on.

Or you close the door to the current miners, no one mines with GPU and the coin dies.

There are good suggestions for miners. This was taught by Napoli, who runs the cryptogrinder pool.
I think KNC TITAN can mine scrypt coin by changing N value. If you operate the following, you can get Fujicoin efficiently and the price of Fujicoin will increase, so the value of your Fujicoin will increase.

Recommended process:
・ Mine scrypt coins with high profit using half of the currently running TITAN or TITAN that is inactive.
・ Exchange the coin for BTC at Crex24.
・ Exchange the BTC for FJC at Crex24 and send it to your address.

In fact, the cryptogrinder pool performs these tasks automatically.
You just need to execute the following command.
Code:
-o stratum+tcp://cryptogrinder.com:3433 -u <FJC_WALLET_ADDRESS> -p c=FJC

Napoli explains:
Quote
Yes, the scrypt port is 3433 and the command seems correct. The miner should always check his 'account/wallet' at https://cryptogrinder.com/?address=<FJC_WALLET_ADDRESS> to see statistics and to make sure the fjc wallet was correctly recognized. The pool chooses the most profitable coin from scrypt algorithm (profit switching) based on a net-hash of the coin, price of the coin and block size in real time (there is also merge mining going on). Once the coin is mined and some threshold will be reached it will be sold and withdraw-ed on the background. Meanwhile or even before the miner would be paid by fujicoin representing the same value -  exchange withdraw/trading fee.

Please try it.  Smiley

The OP is also saying something completely silly with FJC and Titans....to take the Titans and mine better scrypt coins (not scrypt-n) and covert to BTC and then convert to FJC? Why would someone do that if there has not been

any meaningful sale all of 2020 of FJC with all the millions of FJC for sale on the numerous exchanges.

Unless the coin, FJC has a use, you could be the only Titan cube left mining the whole FJC network and get all the FJC mined per day, but it makes little difference if you can

neither sell nor exchange FJC for anything else (like BTC) in any manner. Even if above was true your ONE titan cube would just be mining air.

FJC needs a clone...to make it a masternode coin clone of FJC and then a process of so many FJC to make a masternode ...it would still be a worthless coin on the exchange

but at least people with FJC would have some incentive to experiment with masternodes on this FJC clone coin.

Of course, the catch is:

1) a DEV with willingness or talent to do so...if you have the talent LEGIT masternode coins could actually pay you a salary for your skills...so why bother with FJC.

2) What hooks to add to FJC or a FJC clone? Mimblewimble or other hooks of some note to such a coin...there are 100s of clone coins made a month that don't have that down at all.

3) Lastly, would all the reluctant HODL'ers of FJC actually make masternodes for xfer of their FJC to this new FJC or new FJC clone coin and would that be enough hype to move

this supposed coin?

who knows on above,  you set a rock down someplace ...likely it is not gonna move without some outside forces...as it is now FJC is completely 'static' and stuck in place

from 2014, with only core-bitcoin upgrades as its only changes.

So with KNC Titans gone, no new hooks to the coin of any note, nothing to replace Titans (like a masternode) and no way to exchange or sell FJC

complete non-adoption and movement will remain the norm.

Hyperinflation is gonna compensate for this Pandemic pump of Trillions in the world economy someday...thus why I HODL BTC/Crypto.

But what happens if you print money BUT everyone no longer buys at the 70 consumer purchasing of the USA economy that was in the past?

I 'assume' people will be less likely to run out and toss $$$ around this next year after this economic/pandemic scare? ie no more 70% of economy consumer consumption

more like 45% as people get their economic house in order after all this (or just go bankrupt or unemployed)

so what does this all mean?

business as usual back to 2018 all is well traditional markets?

deflation

hyperinflation

does not work. can't sell FJC no one is buying. running it in this manner you use like way more electric with the titan than just using a GPU card...does not work unless you have free electric.

and using titan as a plain (not scrypt-n) scrypt miner does not pay anything either..same reason ..cost of electric....and of course summer is coming and heat

enlighten me if I'm wrong but the above does not make any sense...correct my assumptions...if I am incorrect..but economically still better to just buy BTC/crypto for electric loss than do

this. it seems to be a 'money suck' and 'space heater' form of mining...again, clarify...but not seeing it. Sad

Paid back? Or simply counted as income?

Well from what I can tell, from states dealing with this mostly, IMHO, on their own, the Federal Government and FEMA and the rest
better step their logistics and coordination game big time ASAP. From the below map, we have not even hit the worst part of this

Chart Buddy wasn't banned. RichyT had a falling out with Theymos in the Block Size Wars and packed up and moved to the "other forum" (same one Adam went to) taking Chart Buddy with him.

Thanks for the clarification. I would like to see a BTC price option on the main Bitcointalk page or at least something I could hit in profile.

Hi,
I think it's time to make something new with Fujicoin
1. Change of algoritm Nfactor18 titans can still mining but speed is  like CPU or GPU
2. Masternode 50 millions coin
3. reward half miner/half masternode maybe some coins  for governance.
4. More adoption so if u can spend fujicoin for material goods you will buy fujicoin
that's all.
Motty what you think?

We have been saying this for more than a year or so. The OP seems to think 'all is well' and that FJC will make a big comeback! lol

Good luck. Best case would be a fork of FJC IMHO to something like a POS coin in which those HODL'ing FJC have a stake in the new coin at say a 1 to 1 ratio

as a POS coin...with 1st dibs on masternodes vs FJC they HODL...

might not go anywhere but as a 'merry go round' with a lot of FJC nodes from those left HODL'ing the FJC Bag (from my estimates around 80-100 million if you add up

stuff for sale on the exchanges with no buyers for months) Sad Might just be a waste of time and masternode learning...but FJC would still have to have some more

programing 'tweaks' to make it something more than just a Bitcoin clone with no enhancements since 2014. (Not counting BTC core-updates) Smiley

Hell, it would be something to do .....zoom zoom...lol Smiley It may still be a dead coin..but hell, at least we could 'poke it with a stick' to be sure with above. Smiley

I suspect nothing will come of your attempts...sorry to say...much like the past attempts.

A question. I show 3 hits for blocks (from hardware specs on data hall on this machine) on www.slushpool.org on my ONE Bitmain S9i unit I've run for maybe 6 months.

In that Slushpool Merge mines....these are likely NOT Bitcoin blocks, right? Or are they simply blocks I hit with others I happened to be mining with?

Just curious if they are actually Bitcoin Blocks hit on this machine. IF so I've used up all my luck in my life and may expire soon from a meteorite strike.

Again, the machine itself at the data hall only states 'blocks found'
