5301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON: Cryptonote privacy, efficiency, decentralization, and stability on: June 02, 2020, 03:34:00 AM
@bigslimvdub. Smooth owns the more active @aeoncoin account? I reckon that someone else owns it. The tweets does not appear to be smooth.

Who owns the first twitter Aeon account, @aeoncurrency? Americanpegas, Katiecharms?
5302  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-06-01] McAfee backs down from wild Bitcoin $1 million price prediction on: June 02, 2020, 02:51:58 AM
@Lucius. When did he make that statement mentioned in the article, however? He never admitted that it was a joke only an idiot would believe until I read the article.

Also, do you reckon that it was only a joke from the beginning? It appeared to me that he thought his own rubbish would become real hehehe.
5303  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-05-30] China: Parliament passes law allowing inheritance of Bitcoin on: June 01, 2020, 01:59:24 AM
The 3 of you might be correct. I might be watching too many movies during this quarantine hehehe. I remain skeptical, however. This law might require you under the authority of the government to KYC yourself.
5304  Bitcoin / Press / [2020-06-01] McAfee backs down from wild Bitcoin $1 million price prediction on: June 01, 2020, 01:43:10 AM
I am skeptical that this is what he thought while he was making his prediction. He was also declaring that it was based on his own math calculation that he created hehehe.

He believed in his own nonsense and he is angry at himself and at everyone who believed him.

Zac Efron to star in John Mcafee movie, King of the Jungle

It turns out that John McAfee, the eccentric billionaire who made his money from anti-virus software, was having us on all along when he predicted in 2018 that Bitcoin would reach $1 million by the end of this year. He has long maintained that, "if not, I will eat my dick on national television."

What idiot could believe such nonsense?” tweeted the 74-year-old yesterday about his lofty prediction. Who on Earth would believe that “Bitcoin, the most crippled crypto-tech,” would rise to the high price of $1 million?

McAfee, who has doubled down on his claim several times, was pulling our leg. “Wake up!” he wrote in his tweet. “If Bitcoin ever hit $1 mil, it's market cap would be greater than the GDP of the entire North American Continent.”

5305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 01, 2020, 12:53:56 AM
Looks like Jon Jones is going to will vacate his UFC light heavyweight title after
going up and down with UFC President Dana White publicly several times!
Would be interesting to hear reaction from all other fighters if this is confirmed.

Agreed! I also appears that Jon Jones might also be in hurting need for money. He was demanding to receive $15m from the company as mentioned by Dana on the press conference. I speculate that he wants to retire after a big fight hehehe.
5306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: June 01, 2020, 12:32:24 AM
Recent opinion polls show Trump trailing badly in crucial states such as Florida and Arizona. The polls may be wrong (just like the case in 2016), so I am not going to comment about them. I would still say that Trump is not getting any boost from this pandemic.

Recent movement in the markets confirm that to a certain extent Wink

It's also ~4% surebet with betonline.ag (2.16 Trump at Betfair, 2.04 "The Field" at betonline), if anyone is interested.

-

Checking the odds for Arizona and Florida, Florida still seems a coin toss, while Democrats have slight advantage in Arizona:

Democrats odds: ~1.7 = ~58%
Republican odds: ~2.4 = ~42%

I speculate the riots all across America are moving the odds.

This might be a stupid hypothesis hehe, however, this might place Trump in a very desperate situation that might cause him to declare full war vs China before November instead of using the pandemic only as a leverage to secure business advantages.
5307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vaccine against Covid-19 should be made before sports events will take place? on: May 30, 2020, 05:49:59 AM
@everyone. We would be dead if we wait hehehehe. There has never been a successful vaccine for the coronavirus group of viruses, not a successful vaccine for Sars, Mers, the common cold.

Do not be the guinea pigs if your country's health care system declares that they have the vaccine available hehe.
5308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: May 30, 2020, 05:34:37 AM
@Chris. Hehe I speculate that the developers were clever in their timing on bitcoin's next halving and grin's monetary policy. Maybe everyone would finally begin to question its mining sustainability when bitcoin's reward is halved to 3.125 coins.

Also, I created a thread about it based on a report from the BIS. It was immediately argued as fud because it came from the BIS without reading the argument presented.

5309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Grayscale Buys 800% More Bitcoin Compared to Q1 2019 on: May 30, 2020, 03:54:56 AM
@gentlemand. No. Reports about Gray Scale claim that the company purchased more bitcoins than the total mined since the halving. It is assumed that some coins were purchased from other sources that are not exchanges.
5310  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Big Short movie, BTC edition? on: May 30, 2020, 03:30:06 AM
@pooya87. I am shaking my head on that explanation. The question was if bitcoin's real volume was only 6% of the fake volume, would it be not very possible for the $8.81b of total USDT printed to pump, manipulate or support the price of bitcoin?

Also, what do you speculate would occur if Bitfinex, Ifinex and Tether were sentenced and ordered to remove all their stablecoins from the cryptospace? This might be a very dangerous situation we are in because Ifinex, Bitfinex and Tether might only be shell companies as reported in this article.

Address 1: Suite 13/F, 1308 Bank of America Tower, 12 Harcourt Road Central

When we get back to the first floor, we recheck all the signage and office listings to see if iFinex is anywhere to be seen. It isn’t. We ask the guards if there’s a iFinex somewhere in the building, perhaps unlisted. “No,” they tell us.

Address 2: Easey Commercial Building, Suite 1902, 253–261 Hennessy Rd., Wan Chai

J & C (HK) Business Limited is printed on the opaque window framed within the door. We knock and a faint voice says something in Cantonese. The tonality makes me think we’re welcome. Besides, door’s unlocked. Inside is a small office with a few desks, fluorescent lights, a water cooler, and a printer. In back are two even smaller, empty offices with their doors open. Two 40sish Chinese women stare at us, not sure why we’re there.

“Hi,” I finally say, “we’re looking for Bitfinex. Is this Bitfinex?”

The woman nearer speaks up. “What?”

“Uh…” I start using my hands like an idiot, pointing at the floor and all around, as though it’ll translate better, “Is this Bitfinex?”

Address 3: Room 803 K Wah Centre, 191 Java Rd., North Point

A Chinese woman, again in her 40s, again surprised to see two Westerners, opens the door enough to speak with us. Her English is perfect. “Hello, can I help you?”

“Yes,” I say, “we’re looking for Tether. This is the listed address. Is this Tether?”

She shakes her head no, “No, no.”

“I see, and do you work with Tether? Are they a client?”

With every question she seems more suspicious. “No,” she says, “I have never heard of Tether. Sorry. Have a nice day.” She shuts the door and walks away.

5311  Bitcoin / Press / [2020-05-30] China: Parliament passes law allowing inheritance of Bitcoin on: May 30, 2020, 02:47:06 AM
Similar to Dovey Wan's skepticsm in her tweet, I speculate that there might be a hidden reason about this legislation.

It might cause to gain technicalities in the law that might give the Chinese government the right to know and investigate your wallets. It might also be as simple as making bitcoin inheritance as taxable hehehe.

In any case, Dovey Wan was the first person to expose the Plus Token scam. Everyone thought it was invented fud when it was reported in this forum.

Earlier this week, locals reports suggested new civil legislation had been submitted for the government’s approval, including “virtual assets” in the list of items that could be passed down. The law was adopted in a now-concluded parliament meeting, as Beijing’s Xinhua Net confirmed on May 28.

In the third sessions of the Thirteenth National People’s Congress presided by President Xi Jinping, China updated the country’s existing civil code; new legislation that now includes “virtual currencies” as part of a citizen’s civil rights. The drafts were first submitted on May 22 to the committee, after “years of deliberation.”

This means if a Chinese citizen holding Bitcoin, Ethereum, or any other digital asset dies, his “will” would legally allot all holdings to a  nominated person. Other “internet”-based properties, such as in-game currencies, can also be passed down.

5312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: May 29, 2020, 02:41:06 AM
However, would it continue to be a secondary issue during the 2020 presidential election? I speculate that his mental fitness might become the biggest issue if Biden will do the accidental gaffe during the debates versus Trump hehehe.

Back in 2016, it was Hillary's election to lose. And this time, it is Biden's turn. The Demography within the United States has changed so much to the extent of giving a major advantage to the Democrat candidate. Unless Biden makes some big blunder, he should win. But as you pointed out, if he makes some political gaffe, then it can turn around the election narrative and give advantage to Trump.

It might not only be that issue. This coronavirus pandemic appears to show that America needs a war time president. I speculate that the independent voters might stay with Trump to avoid the risk with Biden.

Trump has been a little successful in pressuring China in their trade deals. Also, the Hunter Biden China issue, the General Flynn issue and other issues under Obama. This might not be good for the democrats during the presidential campaign.

Trump's main issue against him might be the poor handling of the pandemic. This issue is easy. Blame China hehehee.

It might be in one of these reports. I might read them later or tomorrow and post what I find hehe.

Are you speculating that it might be only fake news?
5314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: May 29, 2020, 02:08:31 AM
The Rust code appeared to be written by someone with very little Rust programming experience.[/i]

Among the core devs, I am one of the few with little Rust programming experience.

I wrote large parts of https://github.com/mimblewimble/grin/blob/master/core/src/consensus.rs and https://github.com/mimblewimble/grin/blob/master/core/src/core/pmmr/pmmr.rs but most of my efforts are in the Cuckoo Cycle repository.

The twitter author would do well to substantiate their criticism on code quality.

I agree our documentation is below par and we hope to make improvements in the coming years as the code stabilizes.

Thank you for your honesty. This does not change my opinion on the importance of the role of the grin project on the cryptospace. Its monetary policy is the game changer, I reckon.

I speculate that the team has timed grin's inflation for bitcoin's 2024 halving hehehe.

It's very close to Bitcoin in the first decade

The first four years of Bitcoin emission rate are identical to the first four of Grin. Bitcoin had a full reward for 4 years, followed by half that for the following 4 years. So compared to a constant supply, after 8 years, the total amount of coins emitted is only 33% less.

5315  Economy / Speculation / Grayscale Buys 800% More Bitcoin Compared to Q1 2019 on: May 29, 2020, 01:32:54 AM
This news article is more positive hehehe.

In any case, would it be good to follow Gray Scale's list of altcoins that they are holding? I reckon that they might be indexing and Barry Silbert's ego might cause him to keep supporting the price of those coins hehehe.

According to Kevin Rooke, Grayscale has been buying up a lot of BTC in recent weeks.

So much even that more Bitcoin has been purchased compared to the amount of BTC generated by miners since the block reward halving.

With nearly 19,000 BTC bought by Grayscale, and under 13,000 BTC minted on the network, there is a very intriguing discrepancy.

5316  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Big Short movie, BTC edition? on: May 29, 2020, 12:46:35 AM
@pooya87. You are correct! This is an old report created on March 20 2019, however, during the time it was made the reported volume for bitcoin was $6 billion and the real volume was $273 million. The ratio might also be similar today hehehe.

List of exchanges with real volume is mentioned in page 61.

In any case, the exchanges that gave real reports on bitcoin volume that use USDT were Binance, Bitfinex, Poloniex and Bittrex. I would not speculate that the volume for USDT was only on 2%, however. Binance and Bitfinex had much of the volume out of the 10 exchanges that had reported real volume.

Source https://www.sec.gov/comments/sr-nysearca-2019-01/srnysearca201901-5164833-183434.pdf

Also, if the real volume was only 6% of the reported volume, would this not be easier for the tether printers to manipulate the market?
5317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting partnership- Your account my money on: May 28, 2020, 03:07:00 AM
Everyone be careful. This is how money laudering works. They pay you a fee to move dirty money under your names to a sportsbook or a casino and then cashout.

It might also be someone who had his sportsbook accounts limited because winning too much hehehe. In any case, be careful.
5318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 28, 2020, 02:51:16 AM
@notblox1. Jose Aldo deserves it. I reckon that he won his fight against Marlon Moraes for the bantamweight title eliminator of December last year. Dana might be giving him his rightful share of opportunity.

Also, this news. Mike Tyson and Wanderlei Silva in a bareknuckle fight. Someone might die hehehe.

5319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple Says New Platform Designed to Let XRP Holders Be Their Own Bank on: May 28, 2020, 02:27:00 AM
@Dpat. Agreed. You can tell everyone that Ripple is a good coin because it is fast and user friendly, however, you cannot tell everyone that it is decentralized. The Ripple company markets it as decentralized. They are scamming you.
5320  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-05-06] Forbes - Did Google Just Censor Bitcoin on: May 28, 2020, 01:45:29 AM
@rdbase. That type of censorship is clearly bad, yes. It will also push away big users. Joe Rogan has already leaving youtube and has made a deal with Spotify for $100m. The deal might only be for the money, however, Alsx Jones who is a close friend of Joe Rogan said that it was because of the needless censorship.

Alex Jones' info wars show was also banned in youtube.
