541  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTS] Established DigitalPoint account on: July 19, 2015, 10:39:21 PM
I'm surprised to see people selling DP accounts here. Are they even worth the investment? It's been awhile since I've left after the owner got imprisoned for ebay fraud(Correct me if I'm wrong).
542  Economy / Digital goods / Re: mm.mk - TOP!!! mm.com sold for 1.200.000 $ on: July 19, 2015, 10:25:27 PM
You could have this auctioned on flippa as there are more people interested in buying domains like these.

544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Use In Philippines on: July 19, 2015, 10:07:38 PM
I just wondered who Pinoy's here attends the meetups/seminars of a one of the bitcoin group in Philippines last Saturday. Didn't able to joined them because my work's teambuilding is also in the same day. Anyone who able attend , please share some of their talked topics? Smiley

Ah yes. I'd like to see pictures of the official meet ups as well. Maybe put it on my blog to encourage other Filipinos to attend and cooperate.
545  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scam exchanger - exchange-ecurrency.com on: July 19, 2015, 10:02:18 PM
I also got scam by exchange-ecurrency.com and I really don't recomed this to anyone, i'm very sorry for lost.Make a complained to your bank.

You really fell for that ugly website? Look at that site I mean the title itself is shouting scam. You could've already gotten some ideas when you checked their homepage.

So my next question.. How are they still operating on the open web?

Offshore hosting. They don't directly operate on countries that dislikes their content. If feds are on their asses, they'll just hide in the bush for a while and pop out like a mushroom.

Registering their domain openly or anonymously?

Well they have this thing called Whois Guard available when you register for a domain name. That's one key to hide their real identity or fake identities being kept.
547  Economy / Lending / Re: 0.10 Loan on: July 19, 2015, 02:22:18 PM
First, paypal is not a valid collateral no matter which angle you'd look at it.
Second, why not just exchange your paypal funds on the currency exchange section or virwox if you're unlucky on that section. I know that their fees are ungodly but better than being scammed.
Third, I don't really think you'll get a loan at that rate or at that collateral. I don't really want to -ve rep people who offered loans but that's just not valid at all.
548  Other / Off-topic / Re: AdSense Beginner Need a help on: July 19, 2015, 02:13:42 PM
If they're unable to accept you due to the site you used for their application, you can just write 2-3 articles and setup a blog and submit it to them. I used that alot and it works like a charm. Just make sure that your content do pass anti-plagiarism checkers.

550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was your last purchase with bitcoin? on: July 19, 2015, 02:03:11 PM
The last purchase I made with bitcoin was an airtime balance for my phone. I was running low. No big purchases yet lately as I'm kind of broke on bitcoins for now.

CEG5952, as I said today we do not accept any new usernames for the bonus.
I will check if we can include you in the list, but cannot promise

No problem. I'm just taking chances to see if I can get into the final list. Included or not, I still wish everyone good luck with their gambling. No hard feelings man.
553  Economy / Economics / Re: Greece Cannot Pay, Greece Will Not Pay on: July 19, 2015, 01:47:00 PM
They need a kind of inspiration of Aristotle,Socrates,Demosthenes,Plato and the great Greek philosophers any of them would tell them to do.

I don't think that's gonna help right now. Greece needs a slap in the face to get back on the right track and work it out otherwise if they run back to drachma, it will be the most worthless money in the world.
554  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: July 19, 2015, 01:44:46 PM
Well if you're a risk taker then you should go invest your money but if you're conservative enough to think for the better future, I suggest you save it. But probably the best thing to do is to invest it in something that is not as shaky as bitcoin's price. Although bitcoin can be a good investment but I don't suggest that you'd go invest your whole treasure in it.
555  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: July 19, 2015, 01:39:00 PM
i got small BTC in faucet website..

Faucets. The never-dying faucets. I'm sorry faucet owners but faucets are a waste of time. You can only earn a good passive amount when you have a good amount of active referrals under you.

I earned some mBTC today via donations from another forum.
556  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anonymity for sending Bitcoin on: July 19, 2015, 01:27:00 PM
Thank you all! I will most likely be using BC then. Sounds pretty safe and anonymous.
I will look into those other websites for another wallet.

Here is a full list of wallets out there : https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet
For Desktop wallets  I'd suggest : Bitcoin Core , Electrum , Multibit HD
for Android : Mycelium
for iOS : I'am not sure because I'am speaking for an experience and I never tested wallets on iOS device .

Stay away from Web wallets because they are the less safe . the safer are Paper wallet (free) and Hardware wallet which will cost your money . Paper wallet are mostly for receiving and not for sending because it will be a simple paper printed where there is Public adress + private key .

Just to add to your list. For iOS, I recommend Copay. I have it installed on my wife's iPhone and never got any issues of it. Very user friendly if you'd ask me. Also it looks like that android wallet that I use. The android wallet's name is just bitcoin wallet.
557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ebay Forbids Bitcoin for Payments on: July 19, 2015, 01:15:14 PM
Bitcoin has no consumer protection, eBay and Paypal are very big on consumer protection, it makes sence sellers cannot use bitcoin as a payment method on their platform.

They also do not permit cash and a bunch of other payment methods, this isn't something new...

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/accepted-payments-policy.html

Yes and if ever the time comes that they'll start to accept bitcoin as a form of payment, eBay would be a scammer's paradise. Post fake stuff and takes away that bitcoin unless they offer an escrow-like service to hold the funds.

but i guess this can be easily prevented by forcing the sellers to give their information and register properly before doing any business with bitcoin.
this way nobody can scam when their identity is known.

They can use fake information and forged documents if needed. That's the bad side of accepting bitcoin on sites like these. I've seen scammers on paypal and ebay and I've got scammed on ebay several times and I'm totally over with ebay.

with that logic nothing is safe and ebay should stop their service and close down the website. because people can simply create a fake document with fake paypal and scam with fiat and launder the money earned this way to cover their tracks!
but i don't see it as a reason not to use bitcoin!!

Of course not. It would be up to eBay now on whether go with bitcoin or not. I'm pretty sure big companies like that could think of something. If they're about to make their own payment processor like paypal, they'd go through some serious work and legal actions with that. They could have done so in the past and make paypal as an alternative not as main option.

So that's why your skype were sending spam messages like "Selling bitcoin for low price" in foreign language. I immediately blocked the skype ID after I've seen the update on your thread.

Good, thx. User "Director" --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=533147  is the forum account of the hacker (or one of his accounts).

The old account is now suspended, at least....

I tried my best to recover it but skype support utterly sucks and they were asking me impossible to remember data such as the exact month/year of the account creation (was more than 10 years ago most likely....).
I provided them a ton of evidence like the old password, wrote to them from my old microsoft account mail which have been tied to that account for months if not years (now untied by the attacker), pointed them to my forum threads (which were still linked in the skype account message too....) and other stuff. All in vain, they keep pointing me to a stupid form to fill with much less relevant info.

I now created a new account only accessible through microsoft account, which I protected with 2 factor (google auth installed on a separate device always kept offline) and noted down all the damn recovery data they may ever need. Even sent them a payment for credit I won't ever need just to leave a trail.

I'll try to add all my contacts back manually in the next days (luckily the full list is still there, including skype names, in my microsoft account "contacts" panel).

How did that user got into your account in the first place and how did you manage to find the account of that guy?
