541  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why they need a license if bitcon is not money? on: January 19, 2024, 04:50:12 AM
I think it's a matter of appearances, not whether Bitcoin is money or not. So they have a legal facade despite doing dubious things. There are casinos that have KYC limits in their ToS to which they turn a blind eye, especially while you are still losing, or that have a list of countries from which you cannot play but if you access the casino from those countries without VPN they also turn a blind eye, especially while you are losing.

A Curacao license is not a very prestigious thing either.

542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which crypto wallet to use for 8,000$? on: January 19, 2024, 04:37:19 AM
You don't need to give the person 200$ just use Electrum wallet to stor or keep your coins.

It sounds fishy to me That he offers $200 and says to contact him on his Telegram without ever showing up here again, at least for the time being. He may or may not be sincere, I'm just saying we have to be cautious with these things as scams of this type abound. In any case and as has been mentioned, a HW wallet is the best option.
543  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who is buying like me on: January 19, 2024, 04:27:14 AM
Well, it's not bad what you are doing but it would have been much better if you had done it when the price went down to $17K, not now when it is not so far from the highs. If the historical pattern repeats itself the price is not going to break above the previous ATH of $69K until the end of the year or next year, and you are going to see several ups and downs until then, so if that happens I hope you don't get desperate and sell. In any case, better to accelerate purchases now than when the price is much higher.

If I have not varied my DCA.
544  Economy / Economics / Re: JP Morgan Chase fights 45 billion hack attempts a day. on: January 19, 2024, 04:21:55 AM
The figure is certainly shocking. Much more than I could have imagined. But in an increasingly digital world where money is increasingly digital it makes sense. We have seen on the forum that criminals are getting more and more sophisticated at scamming cryptocurrencies and committing crimes to get them (such as hacks or kidnappings). It also makes sense that they try to hack large institutions like this, as the loot is very juicy.

It is worth thinking about what would happen if they succeeded.
545  Economy / Economics / Re: The savings problem on: January 18, 2024, 04:20:21 AM
Purchasing power has only been getting worse from generation to generation, and thus being able to make any savings is already a distant dream for most. Younger people just keep working more for less, to s point now where mostworking people can't put even a single dollar aside.

I see this as relative because part of the narrative comes from the propaganda of the (mainstream) left-wing media that sells people the victim mentality.

It is true that the purchasing power for some basic goods, such as buying a house, has been reduced for the majority of the population. But today's population generally enjoys many more goods and services than 40 years ago. Starting with the cell phone we all carry in our pockets, continuing with cheap clothes and ending with cheap travel. Forty years ago travel was a luxury that only the rich could afford and today working people have gone to the other side of the globe on a trip.

Besides that today there are more opportunities to earn money, even in the form of extra income, comfortably from home, and you have an example here in the forum with the signature campaigns.

So it is relative. For me only one part of the story is true.
546  Economy / Economics / Re: The world's logic favours income makers, not the savers on: January 18, 2024, 04:12:18 AM
I agree with some things but not with others. In general it doesn't make much sense to save in the fiat system we find ourselves in. It is better to invest, which can be considered a form of savings where you put money to work for you.

To have to pay an annual tax for something you own and paid with your own money to possess is ridiculous...

In this I agree, and the fact is that the voracity of politicians seems to have no limits. Even in US states where there is no VAT, the fees for owning a house are enormous.

This evil rigged system never allows a middle class hard working person to reach too further on improving his life standards. If he doesn't have a large income, he won't reach anywhere. To be a disciplined saver along decades of his life isn't enough.

Okay, that's why I usually recommend people when starting out in personal finance to focus on controlling expenses, paying consumer debts and saving an emergency fund. But the second step is always to increase your income.

Moral of the story: don't save money for more than one month.

I do not agree with this. It is commonly accepted that you have to save between 3 and 6 months of expenses. After that, you can invest.
547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever regretted selling your bitcoins ? on: January 18, 2024, 04:03:39 AM
Well, not in my case because despite having sold and spent Bitcoin, my economic situation has continued to improve, and if it is true that if I had not sold any of the Bitcoin that has passed through my hands, I would now have a little more wealth, it would not be a very significant difference compared to the current one. Those who regret it are usually those who knew and had Bitcoin very early on, where the returns were more spectacular. In any case, if you see that you have made a mistake and you regret it, it is better to move forward and not make it again than to focus on the past.
548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying house rent with bitcoin is it appropriate? on: January 18, 2024, 03:52:29 AM
paying house rent with bitcoin is not a mistake or lack of financial knowledge, but it just puts what is a priority now. if someone pays their house rent using bitcoin, it means that they understand what they are doing and are ready to accept the risk that they will lose the potential profit they will get in the future.

The only way I would consider paying rent with Bitcoin would be if I had already reached a stage in my accumulation that would allow me to live off it without working for the rest of my life, which at current prices would be like having 40 Bitcoins. Only then would I prefer to spend significant amounts of Bitcoin on a regular basis. I don't see much point in spending Bitcoin and keeping the fiat currency. Least of all in Argentina, which has one of the worst currencies on the planet.
549  Economy / Reputation / Re: Farewell on: January 17, 2024, 11:07:11 AM
Really sorry to read that buddy. I've enjoyed a lot reading you all this time. I wish you the best within the circumstances. Peace.
550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eloncoin : An Emerging Idea of Global Virtual Currency on: January 17, 2024, 04:18:29 AM
Eloncoin is not launched by Elon Musk and the coin is Proof of Stake, Masternode that is a very old trend.

That's right, it seems the OP hasn't figured out that the one who launched it is an old acquaintance of the forum. It was not created by Elon Musk, no matter how much they are using his image in cartoon form to promote the shitcoin.

Its not 2014 - 2018 anymore, established forum members should know better than to promote this kind of affinity scam trash in any way.

Just in case there are some noobs out there who make the mistake of thinking this is actually backed by Elon Musk (it's not):

What a completely unnecessary shitcoin this is! I wouldn't be surprised at all if this shitcoin is nearly worthless late 2025 (2 years).
//remind me 2 years

...
But have some fun with it, if you are willing to take the risk for little reward.  Smiley

I believe it will be worthless before those 2 years.
551  Economy / Reputation / Re: An awoken problem on: January 16, 2024, 05:47:33 PM
I can't change the past, and it could have been managed better with something like the above, but perhaps a reconsideration to at least neutral, or perhaps even the removal of the tag, but any delayed payments issues that occur like in the past of in the future you can always add the tag once again.

Hey lightlord, I was hesitating because I don't like to be the bad guy but you're back at it again. Good thing I didn't remove your tag or change it to neutral, otherwise I would have to put it back to red again:

This campaign is paused until further notice, you're free to remove signature and avatar as no post after this announcement will be accounted for. I haven't heard back from lightlord so instead of continuing the campaign and owing more debts is better we pause and wait on his feedback (wallet to be refilled).

If the campaign is to resume, all exiting members will retain their spots but for now you can go and try your luck elsewhere. I'll keep you updated as I get more clarity on what's stopping the refilled.

Regards,
Brainboss.

I also reviewed @lightlord is activity (Last Active: January 15, 2024, 12:32:43 AM), and don't understand why if he is active, he can respond to what you mentioned.
552  Other / Meta / Re: The effect the mixer ban has had on the forum. on: January 16, 2024, 12:39:27 PM
I agree with Poker Player it's just a matter of time.

I have to qualify this. I'm not saying it's a matter of time, but it could happen over time and especially if more restrictions are imposed. Let's imagine that casino campaigns are banned, for example. What would happen? I think that we could see a clear transfer of members and traffic to the other forum.
553  Other / Meta / Re: The effect the mixer ban has had on the forum. on: January 16, 2024, 09:29:12 AM
$45 against $150 for the highest-paying campaigns for each site, so yeah you are correct.

As usual with you, you didn't even bother to read what I explained afterwards. I'll explain it to you in another way.

A month ago, the highest paying campaigns on this forum: $250 per week.

A month ago, the highest paying campaigns on this altscointalk: $0.

Now: the only campaign that pays the most in this forum: $150.

On altscoinstalk: $45.

A year from now: we'll see.

The purpose of this thread is to warn of what may happen if more restrictions on signatures are imposed, not simply to rejoice in looking at a still photo of what this forum looks like today.
554  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the end of excitement on: January 16, 2024, 05:09:52 AM
Just take a look to the market cap of bitcoin and you will get the answers that you need, bitcoin is no longer a project that can register that kind of growth due to the enormous size of its market cap.

So it is not as if bitcoin became boring according to your own words, it is just that those days are over, bitcoin can still grow, but its growth is not going to be anywhere near your expectations, so you either change your expectations or invest in another asset if you are not willing to do this.

But the OP is talking about large price fluctuations and for him to say that at the gates of a bull market, when he says he has been buying Bitcoin for 10 years is to be laughed at. Of course big price fluctuations will come, the only thing is that he has to wait. That they will not be as spectacular as in the first cycles? We already know that. The thing is that he had overestimated the effect that the approval of spot EFTs could have on the price, which was already largely discounted (the effect occurred before they were approved).
555  Economy / Economics / Re: Useful side hustles to sponsor a BTC investment dream. on: January 16, 2024, 04:44:50 AM
I shared what I had left seeing that it's a new year and most of us would be thinking of exploring new prospects even as signature campaigns no longer has slot for the old and new ranking up members.
It's a struggle really and I shared this post to learn from useful comments and inputs, yours inclusive.

The price ranges I added isn't so much as accurate until one is engaged in the process and sees for themselves that the harder and smarter one works, the higher their pay rate, no matter the task involved.

It is that what you should have put to be accurate is "up to xxx a day" and not give those figures as taking for granted that it is easy when you have already been dismantled by saying that the real figures are much lower. In any case the top ones might reach those figures but in some specific case like watching ads not even that. You don't get paid those figures either in Bitcoin or fiat for watching ads.
556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cashout or wait till the end? on: January 16, 2024, 04:38:59 AM
So is it your local currency or in dollars?

I wonder the same thing too, and I think if the screenshot is from the OP's account it will most likely be from his local currency.

It is obviously better to do the cashout, what happens is that doing so does not prevent you from ending up betting it and losing everything. There are not rare cases of people who make a cashout to deposit it all again after a while, bet it and lose it all.
557  Other / Meta / Re: I wonder if the forum would be much better without signatue campaigns on: January 16, 2024, 04:31:02 AM
the shitcoinstalk forum, which has seen a business opportunity in this and makes it easier for people to go there "teleporting" which is to keep the rank they have here by simply creating an account with the same name.

I'd just like to add that teleporting thing was added long back in 2020, it's not a new thing.

Yes, but I understand they made it easier now, right? Or is that link at the top of the page, of all the forum pages, actually, that says:

Quote
» To teleport your account from Bitcointalk, click here

has been there since 2020? I ask because I don't know but I would be surprised, because also the possibility of teleporting was there since then but it was not exclusive to Bitcointalk, also to other forums.
558  Other / Meta / Re: I heard that this forum used to have advertisements on: January 16, 2024, 04:23:35 AM
....so I thought to ask you guys that on which area of the forum those advertisements were displayed...

If it's possible and if someone has any of the screenshots of that time then kindly share that as well so we can see how the forum used to look when the advertisements were displayed on the forum.

They were displayed in banner form. Go to https://www.altcoinstalks.com/ and see the banners there. That's like they used to be here.

When were those advertisements stopped and what were the advertisers paying the forum to display their advertisements over here?
I don't remember exactly, I think it was like a year or two ago but theymos decided to stop because the forum has so many bitcoins that it doesn't need the money coming in from advertising. Why are you so curious about ads?
559  Other / Archival / Re: NeuroticFish, on default trust, using trust feedback for no reason! on: January 15, 2024, 11:08:42 AM

Blah, blah, blah, bullshit, nonsense, and more blah, blah, blah.

Btw, is it not funny that you gave a neutral to me right after getting into DT?

Yes, Pinocchio, it's funny because your nose has grown back. I didn't leave you a neutral tag after getting into DT, because I've been a Default Trust member for more than two years. You probably mean it was after entering DT1, but I guess you haven't figured out that correlation does not imply causation. If now you see a lightning strike and after a while I leave you a red feedback, you will surely deduce that I left you a feedback because of the lightning, right?

By the way, I have deleted the previous feedback and added a new one about what I actually think today.
560  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The story of Betnomi.com (Exit Scam) on: January 15, 2024, 09:01:12 AM
Why I am not surprised they are launching another token with presale and new casino  Roll Eyes

I am not surprised either. Surely they have taken the idea of freebitco.in, which is not exactly created FUNToken but joined giving advantages in their casino and has been profitable for them but not for investors. I guess we will see something like that:
