I believe this facebook coin will fail. Only boomers uses facebook these days and they dont have a clue how cryptocurrencies work. They will treat it as some generic digital coin, like those you use inside MMOs for example. It will be restricted to facebook, which is a dying platform, practically an icon of nocoinery and technological backwardness.
I don't think it will be restricted to facebook, that's why it's so dangerous...

You dont need all these logos when you have multipass.

I believe this facebook coin will fail.

All paper promises will fail, of which, every (((digital currency))) is one.  The only thing left standing will be physical metals because they're the only monetary instrument that isn't some type of bastardized IOU.

Until the government come with two boots on your door and confiscate all your gold.

544  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2019 Cryptocurrency (Elliott Wave) on: June 18, 2019, 04:32:46 PM
The revision basically shows that "it could always be wrong" and now we are seeing another chart, look if the first one didn't happen and market reacted differently than you expected then there is a big chance the second may not happen neither, or maybe it will but that will not because you "got it right" since you already assumed it would go down and it didn't.

Thats because Eliott wave analysis works better after the movement happened, not before. Like the OP said, the chart indicates price and structure, but not the time of it.

Personally, I dont believe anymore that we are going to see 5k at the end of this month. If it was to be like that the price would have fall back to 6k during the recent $1500 "correction". Also I believe we have more hodlers now than we had two months ago, and all this FUD about CSW, Satoshi, etc, are making the hodlers more resilient, just to make opposition to the bad actors.

You can notice the OP moved the 5k to September, to maintain the wave analysis, but after August the price will probably go to full recovery mode. It would made more sense if the low is put at 7k, giving a 5k range between it and 12k.
545  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is going for a Big correction on: June 18, 2019, 04:23:53 PM
You guys have to stop thinking about these things, whales will always be where money is, if they have a lot of money and want to dump BTC, what's the problem? It's not illegal

I read in 4chan that a woman had hanged herself after losing all her family savings during the last bear market. She left a husband and kids.

Just because its not illegal, doesnt mean its not immoral.

As Lauda pointed out, the proposal about Satoshi's wallet came because of quantum computing. IBM already built a quantum computer. And there is the risk Satoshi is really Paul Le Roux and its wallet is in the hands of the CIA. How much time until some three-letter organization decrypt it?

But, I dont believe the wallet should be locked, instead it would be better the centralized exchanges create some kind of a comitee to control the dumps. It would be self-regulatory. Some people will cry about "freedom", but your freedom ends where you starting stealing other people's money.
546  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is going for a Big correction on: June 18, 2019, 12:54:11 PM
Bitcoin fell $1500 in a matter of hours, from 9k to 7.5k, once more proving the market is manipulated by few actors, and adoption will be hard due to it.

If we have another correction like that, it will just prove, one more time, the need to control the exchanges.

Recently I read a discussion in reddit about suppressing Satoshi's wallet. Its a constant source of FUD, we know, but it is his private property, so Im against such kind of action, it would undermine the trust people have in bitcoin. There are other whales with similar quantities, should we suppress their wallets too? Of course not, its their private property, and its their right if they want to sell it or not.

Instead, I propose to control the exchanges through some kind of private comitee, because if someone want to sell too many bitcoins, theres the OTC market for that. You can cry me a river about freedom and liberty for corporate interests, I dont give a fuck.

If the exchanges have limits for dumping in a extended period of time, any kind of FUD would have less impact and more people would buy bitcoin. Institutional investors would flow in, without needing the dinossaurs from governments taking measures for them. And no, this would not be a two-way control, only on the way down, because bitcoin is not a ordinary asset, it was meant to be a reserve currency in the first place, so it needs worldwide adoption. People only buy it because it increases value fast.

So, correction or not, TA will be useless against the capricious movements of a few individuals. The centralized exchanges are accomplices to that. Judging only by TA, I dont believe we will have a correction below 8k.

The Boomer Panic (tm) Indicator is my favorite one.

When boomers on twitter start celebrating how Bitcoin is dead = the bottom's in and it's time to accumulate.

When they start panicking = the next bull run towards ATH begins.

The question is, at what point do those guys admit that they are wrong? How many ATHs does it take specifically? Or do they perpetually stick around like our resident Peter Schiff realr0ach?

They dont, thats why they are called "boomers". Its not related to generation anymore, but to technological backwardness.

Who are those 8 members voted for the prices to hit $20,000 by june 17. Shocked Not much hours left for the deadline,so no chance right there.

Who are the 2 who voted for $0?

Could be someone who wokeup from coma after years. Cheesy

But my question still didn't find the answer and in the meanwhile it increased by one.

imaginary, valueless, digital shitcoins

Sorry for quoting Roach but it seems he's trying to follow his idol's advice:

"If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed." - Adolf Hitler

So this is clearly the reason he keeps repeating it all the time.  Grin

I believe he repeats it as a mantra, so that he can ignore reality to the best of his abilities.

He could solve his drama by just going away, but /pol/tards are know to be masochists who love their supposed oppressors.

This is an interesting comparison and shows you just how scarce Bitcoin actually is.
I feel like a Bitcoin Duke now, ruling over his duchy, trying to increase the size of the land I'm ruling over by trading altcoins.
If you do the actual math it's ~751 acres of habitable land, for each bitcoin which is the same as 530 football fields.

Actually, 751 acres is equivalent to 6.25 hides, which would give you the title of knight.

I thought about that myself, recently. 0.1btc would give the owner citizenship in a future bitcoin citadel. Between 0.1 and 1btc you would have the title of knight, then, increasing in multiples of ten, baron, count, duke, and king.

R0ach, do you even know what "keynesian" means?

If there is something "keynesian" here, its the gold and silver markets, where the supply is controlled by governments and most of the trade is made through derivatives.
556  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you regret it not selling at peaked on last jan 2018 ? on: June 14, 2019, 01:22:49 PM
I sold some fractions of bitcoin in January 2018, but I rebought those fractions on the 6000s later (before the fall to 3k).

I regret not having sold a entire bitcoin, as I could have bought more later. But its hard to time the market, only those with inside information can do that properly. Without this information, trading is just gambling.

Much better to hold until your target is in place.
557  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10000 is just around the corner it seems. on: June 14, 2019, 12:34:52 PM
Price action is too slow at the moment.

We could both go to 10k or drop to 5k by the end of July. Eliott wave analysis points to 5k, but it excludes BAKKT and globalcoin (which could bring more adoption to cryptospace). If we put these into factor, 10k is much more likely to happen, which could bring us a new ATH by the end of the year.

For me it would be better if we go to 10k straight, Im satisfied with my stash.
558  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price in December 2019 on: June 13, 2019, 01:37:04 PM
12k by December.

I had made this prediction for December 2018, but it was a wrong call.

Now that we are out of the bear market and in a recovery phase, I believe it will be the case.

In my opinion, the real bull run only starts at 12k, and I believe it will impress everyone, just like it did in 2017.

Of course, it would be much better if we reached 12k by August and closed the year with a new ATH, but the price action is too slow right now. Its kinda of boring to follow it.
559  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 12, 2019, 07:31:21 PM
You could argue that bitcoin in its current form IS a fork but that's okay, it has a pretty good consensus. As long as that consensus doesn't fracture too much we can keep this delusion going. IF we could keep this delusion, the one that says "bitcoin is special because we need it to be special", going that would be wonderful for global commerce and wellbeing, and so far we have been able to do it.

About these forking issues, the majority of bitcoin miners have signalled Segwit in 2017. I dont believe they will leave the consensus they agreed upon, and if they do, I believe they will warn it first.

Money is based on consensus, without consensus there is no money.

Fall may not be Stephenson's best novel, but it might be his most Stephensonian.

At roughly 900 pages, it is a smorgasbord of acronyms and ideas, action and exposition, characters and subplots.
No, I am absolutely not surprised at clickbait.

Why do you people keep talking about this shit?
Ouch. Right in the amygdala, you bastard.
This time it's different? Ok this time it's not different.
But it is more about the Neal, who is of legitimate interest to some. To others, the Neal's star shone briefly and pallidly.
Have you read any?
It's just weird. We are literally at the forefront of a technological breakthrough that could revolutionize the world, we stand to become filthy rich if things play out as they have been, we are the one percent of the one percent. We know how the tech works. And people keep paying fucking attention to scammers. WHY?!

Zeroes on the left, thats the reason. You might think its insane, but most newbies feel poor because of the zeroes. Thats the reason why they flock to Ripple and other shitcoins. They need the single unit on their faces. The zeroes remind them that they lost the earlier trains. Also this is the reason why the nocoiners call bitcoin a Ponzi scheme.

Adopt the bit as the standard. Each bitcoin have one million of bits. If the exchanges, wallets, etc, put the bit as the default, maybe the scams will have less attention.
