At the rate things are changing, it won't be long before religion is no longer the majority...

Will they beg us to treat them better than they treated blacks, LGBT, etc?
582  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "All 17 intelligence agencies agree that Russia hacked the US election" on: June 15, 2017, 03:33:53 PM
It seems to me that all the talk about Russian participation in American elections is an attempt to shift responsibility for selecting such an idiot like Trump President on the Russian. Americans do not want to recognize among them many people who voted for him.

Actually it is a pathetic excuse to hide the real reasons behind Hillary's defeat. Democrat leaders want to claim that their nominee lost because of hacking, and not because of her dishonest nature. Also, the irritating questions about Sanders' loss in the primary reappears very frequently nowadays.

That's the obvious part...

Hillary raised over a $Billion during her campaign... and just made a huge bonfire with all those donations

Hillary burned through over $1,000,000,000 while she dropped in the polls... she spent more money than any campaign in history... and lost (very abnormal... typically whoever spends the most wins)

Hillary is likely to be murdered by those who donated large amounts of money, if she can't come up with a good reason she lost which doesn't blame herself directly
583  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Evolution is a hoax on: June 13, 2017, 11:39:17 PM
The evidence for evolution is ample, and encompasses several different fields of science

There is geographical evidence... different species of similar animals are separated by geographical divides (implying they evolved after the groups separated)

There is archaeological evidence... skulls and bones showing changes over time

There is genetic evidence... humans are 98%+ similar to chimpanzees

There is embryonic evidence... you can watch a human embryo change into amphibian and reptilian forms before becoming human

Humans have vestigial organs like the appendix

What evidence do you have for creationism? (your dusty old book is not evidence)

It's getting there...

US confidence in religion has dropped 20% in 40 years... so another 80 years til it hits 0%
586  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "All 17 intelligence agencies agree that Russia hacked the US election" on: June 13, 2017, 02:02:45 AM
Then you have to define the term "hacking". The voting machines were not connected to the internet, and the only possible way to hack them is to do it manually for each of the machines. Do you think that it is possible?

That's a different issue, and yes it is not only possible, but Russia tried that too

This is what the leak from Reality Winner (her actual name) was about...

The leak showed Russia not only hacked into the database of the company who makes the voting machines, but that they tried phishing emails (and more?) against people who had access to the machines

So yeah, Russia at least tried to compromise the voting machines themselves, but nobody knows whether they were successful, because zero states audited/recounted the election results

This leak is only about a week old, so no telling how long congress etc has known about it

Moscow's largest foreign intelligence agency — targeted employees at an electronic voting vendor in August. At least one employee was likely compromised, the report said.

Hackers then used info from the company to target more than 100 local government email addresses by pretending to be from Florida-based VR Systems, the NSA report allegedly said.

fake emails the hackers sent from VR Systems contained booby-trapped Microsoft Word documents designed to give up control of a computer's functions and allow "persistent access" to deliver more malware, the NSA report said.

The intelligence report did not say whether those emails were successful in compromising local officials' computers and systems. But Intercept reporters pointed out that a registration system malfunction in Durham, N.C., which used VR Systems, caused long lines and confusion at some polling places. A deputy director for the Durham County Board of Elections said the company's software was not the cause of problems.

The leaked documents shed new light on alleged interference efforts by Russia close to the election, with the disclosure saying the hacking "may have breached at least some elements of the voting system, with disconcertingly uncertain results."
587  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people believe in religion? on: June 13, 2017, 01:16:44 AM
Religion is a sign or a rule for human beings can live well, all religions actually have good rules for its devotees

All societies have rules... this is nothing unique to religion... it's not even unique to humans
588  Other / Politics & Society / "All 17 intelligence agencies agree that Russia hacked the US election" on: June 13, 2017, 12:47:38 AM
I laugh every time I hear this...

Am I the only person who wondered...
We have 17 intelligence agencies?
Who are they?

Let's start with the possibly relevant agencies:
1) FBI
2) NSA
3) CIA

Now for the non-relevant agencies:
4) Office of the Director of National Intelligence
5) Defense Intelligence Agency
6) Office of Intelligence and Analysis
7) Bureau of Intelligence and Research
8] Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence (Dept of Treasury)
9) National Reconnaissance Office
10) National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency
11) Military Intelligence Corps (Army)
12) Office of Naval Intelligence (Navy)
13) Twenty-Fifth Air Force (Air Force)
14) Marine Corps Intelligence (Marine Corps)
15) Coast Guard Intelligence (Coast Guard)
16) Office of National Security Intelligence (DEA)
17) Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence (Dept of Energy)

I mean... who are they kidding?

How/Why would the DEA have information regarding Russia hacking into the DNC emails?
How would any but 2-3 of these agencies have that type of info?

Why not just say "all our intelligence agencies agree?" or "all relevant agencies agree"?

Why mention 17 of them when 90%+ have no input on the topic?

Why lie and say that the DEA, etc agrees with the conclusion that it was Russia when they couldn't possibly have such information?
589  Other / Politics & Society / Re: In France, the party of Macron won the election in the first round. on: June 13, 2017, 12:20:51 AM
Russia didn't influence the US election, Hillary was a bad candidate

The only thing they even try to pin on Russia is the DNC leaked emails, which most likely came from Seth Rich, not Russia

Even if it was Russia behind the DNC leaks... it only exposed the truth of the corruption against Bernie

At most the DNC leaks swayed the vote 1%... but Hillary should have beat Trump by 10% if she half-way tried to run a campaign at all

People simply didn't show up to vote for Hillary because she didn't stand for anything... "I'm with her" is not something people want to get behind... she had no message... she had no issues she stood for... she had nothing but a vagina (which was already bought and paid for by the establishment)

Wait... these kids are beautiful?

Beauty is in the eye of the trumpeteer

Any at all?

592  Other / Politics & Society / Humans vs Evolution on: May 12, 2017, 06:57:39 PM
Let's avoid the religious debate and assume Evolution is real

The prime drivers of evolution are
1) Random gene mutations
2) Survival of the Fittest/Natural Selection

The issue I see is that humans actively fight against natural selection/survival of the fittest...

We have hospitals where we treat down's syndrome, cancer, epilepsy, and all forms of mental and physical retardation

Without intervention, these "bad genes" would die and leave the gene pool... but, we keep these people alive, to pass on "bad genes" to the next generation

I know it sounds callous, etc., but it seems like a stupid idea to fill the gene pool with "bad genes", rather than let nature take it's course and kill off the poor bastards who drew the short straw

If a dog breeder had a dog with an obvious deformity, it would not use the dog for breeding purposes... that would be stupid to contaminate the breed's gene pool
593  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What going on in turkey right now? on: May 02, 2017, 05:30:42 PM
Maybe Erdogan wants to build his own Islamic Caliphate. Democracy rarely works in Muslim countries. They prefer sharia and other medieval forms of government.

You need to remember that Turkey is not a very homogeneous society. In the Western part and the coast, the people are quite secular and opposed to Islamism. Also, in the South-east the Kurds oppose Islamism of Erdogan and his AK party. If Erdogan converts Turkey in to an Islamic Caliphate, then the West and the South-east will break away.

I thought Turkey already was an Islamic Caliphate...

According to religiosity polls, 99.8% of the population identifies as Muslim, and only 2% is non-religious.
Turkey is 99.8% Muslim, and their mosques are government funded... there is no separation of church and state in Turkey

Erdogan essentially elected himself dictator for life (12 more years, but he'll extend that again)

There was massive voting fraud... everything from changing laws on stuffing ballot boxes with unlawful votes, to displacing people so they have no physical mailing address and can't vote

This guy is a authoritarian dictator... he locks people in prison for making jokes about him... there is no freedom of speech in Turkey

The only worse world leader I can think of is Duterte

Atheist 7th Grader asks Christian philosopher about Noah's Ark

Oh, the feels
595  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you hate muslems? on: May 02, 2017, 07:54:30 AM
No one deserves to be hated by just their religion and that's too much to judge by just appearances but definitely you could know who is who and which is which. I hope that you can find the soul to forgive people that have done something wrong to you. I hope that the Muslims that do the bad things, would know what they should really do.

I don't want to hate anyone based on their religion. But you need to ask yourself why there is so much hatred against the Muslims in this world. Why no one is hating Buddhists, Hindus or Christians?

Confirmation bias

People prefer to hate those who are most different from themselves

The media enhances this bias by reporting in a similar fashion

Nobody reports when a christian shoots up a mosque, but they always make it a headline when a muslim kills someone

According to the FBI stats, Muslims only carry out 6% of the terrorism in the US, yet people seem to think its 100% muslims (blame the media)

It makes no sense that the relatively short life we live on this planet, at most 100 years and perhaps as brief as a few minutes, would be used by a God to determine our ultimate destiny, one that will last trillions and trillions of years and beyond. This would be like compensating a baseball player for his entire career based on how he performs in his first major league at bat. If he hits a home run, he would receive a high salary, but if he strikes out, he will get only minimum wage throughout his career no matter how well he plays thereafter. The time difference between the trial period and the punishment/reward period is drastically out of sync.

Some Christians say that God will give people another chance after they die to accept his grace, but if that is true, then why be so concerned about the unsaved in this life? And if you get a second chance after you die, you will obviously know that Christianity is true, making the decision to believe not a matter of faith, but of fact. This makes no sense, and it would render the core theology of Christianity meaningless.

This was one of the first problems I noticed with christianity

The average life expectancy was 30 years throughout history... many people were born in countries where they have different religions, and may not have heard of Jesus... 30 years is not long enough to study all the major religions and figure out which one is correct... so 99% of people will go to heaven/hell based solely upon where they were born and what religion their parents were

Only a stupid/jerk of a god would set up such rules

599  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe in god? on: May 01, 2017, 04:21:27 PM
No such thing as a god..... remember!

You contradict yourself, by taking on god-like authority to make such a statement.

I only made a statement of claim. - Well, do you believe what you claim, or not? If you do, by what authority? Your own? Then you are claiming god-like authority for yourself. If by someone else's authority, then you are claiming that person to be your god.

You placed a religious overture to it. - The existence of God is not a religious thing except in the minds of those who treat it as such. You are the one who brought up religion.

You have therefore made it a god like authority. - We both make statements that show God-like authority within them. God exists.

Sorry to disappoint you.... but I am not your god Badecker. You are a little desperate in your search.

Thankfully, you are not my God. But you are attempting to be your own god. Your statements show it.

You have made yourself a God authority.  You claim you know what God wants and how he controls everything through cause and effect.  You claim where God exists, what he does and wants.

You just making shit up as you go along.  Basically you are telling us what your day dream consists of.

Remember this:  your fantasy is yours alone.

But by telling your fantasy to other people all your are doing is proving that you are delusional.

I don't understand why you two keep arguing with Insult, the Comic Troll

Just ignore him til he goes away... please?

You do yourself an disservice by replying to his nonsense... don't do it... you only encourage him

Don't give him the platform to pontificate... nobody actually cares what he says anyway... don't encourage him

Stop feeding the troll!

Insults, more insults, and nothing but insults

Well done. Here are the test results: You are a horrible person. I'm serious, that's what it says: "A horrible person." We weren't even testing for that. Don't let that horrible-person thing discourage you. It's just a data point. If it makes you feel any better, science has now validated your birth mother's decision to abandon you on a doorstep.
