601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too! on: January 28, 2022, 07:18:59 AM
Hi everyone, it's been awhile, just wanted to tell you that I still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too!

Some of you may say it's a dumb decision or risky, but I'm all for BTC and positive about it. To the Moon!
I mean, how much was a Bitcoin then, Less than a $1k Shocked and still haven't sold any Sat even in all this ATh that has happened over the years, that is really some Diamond Mind. I understand that there are peoples out there that are on this level but I definitely know I can't resist taking profits from the ATHs besides, there are real-life situations to take care of too.
602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: There is fear in the market, isn't it time to buy? on: January 27, 2022, 07:04:47 AM
Now there is a fear of investors in the market. Bitcoin has lost over 50% of its ATH since its recent drop, the fear index hit 13, and even altcoins that have held up well on this downtrend like NEAR, LINK, LUNA, FTM have also lost value. Short positions increase Everyone is in a panic, many fix losses and sell....

Does this mean that we have felt the bottom and there will be a rebound soon? Is it time to buy?
I do think we are around the bottom even though the market can never be predicted correctly and it could still go down but overall, I believe this is like the right time to continue to buy some good projects in parts and not at once so if it happens to go down again we can buy more.
603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Only invest an amount you can afford to lose" on: January 27, 2022, 06:52:45 AM
"Only invest an amount you can afford to lose."
Honestly, this is still what I keep until right now, I always use money that I will not use for daily needs or other needs, I mean maybe free money to invest. Additionally, I am also always investing money only in the amount that I can afford.
Although that kind of finance and other fiat problems may happen, I am still not ready yet if I should lose money more than I can afford. So, investing wisely is better for me. AT least, I have enough investment but without over risking my money and my life.
But, I know that everyone also has different opinions and considerations. As long as you can afford it and are ready for whatever will happen with the investment, it may not be a matter.
For me, I think that part of Investing funds that I am not in need of is a better way to avoid panic. Even when the market goes down, you are really not in need of the funds so you can wait it out but for those investing the only little amount they have hoping to make a quick profit, then I see it the other way round, panic over every little dip because they are afraid to lose that investment. So you are more relaxed investing your free funds IMO.
604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No regrets for the NYC Mayor receiving his first Bitcoin paycheck during the dip on: January 27, 2022, 06:30:00 AM
Wouldn't paying with Bitcoin when the price dropped would make the amount quite a lot? and that is precisely the advantage for him in the future? with the same dollar amount but with more Bitcoins than when the price was above $45K.

As an example:
In December when the Bitcoin price was $46K, Eric Adams received his salary of $5000 = 0.10869
In January the price of Bitcoins fell drastically and on the 17th to be exact on Friday the price was at $41K, which means Adams received a salary of $5000 = 0.12195BTC.

In conclusion, more and more Adams received in the amount of Bitcoin with a nominal dollar that remained the same, namely $5000.
True that, but you know how all these media always wants to portray Bitcoin. Realistically, Bitcoin did drop from $41k to around $35k, and even though they understand that as long as you did not sell there is no loss there, they also trying to attach some level of regret to it which is fun. I might not want the whole of my salary in Bitcoin, maybe a % but this is the Mayor trying to send a message.
605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT CIFI COINS on: January 26, 2022, 08:58:31 AM
there are some things about citizen finance, a lot of people give good views to citizens because they managed to get a price above $300 and they have invested in citizens so far.
but on the other hand there is a bad side from the cifi team. the team does not pay the 70% reward to the bounty participants and the cifi team always gets banned for every member who asks about cifi.

Can these two problems affect token citizens in the future? give your opinion here about citizen finance coin.
Is citizen finance suitable as an investment altcoin asset?

I am one of the participants of CIFI and I agreed that they didn't compensate their participants who helped to promote CIFI, that is very unfair and unjust actually. I absolutely believed that for this thing happened it will really affect the community. In fact, they've scammed their participants honestly speaking.
Likewise. I participated in that bounty too and even before the 2nd 20% was paid it took longer than the time they said they were going to pay and now bounty hunters that helped in promoting the project are the ones now actually begging to be paid for the work they did. If the CIFI teams can do this to their bounty promoters, I see them doing it to the investors as well. Not a good sign.
606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CBDC will make Bitcoin MORE valuable on: January 26, 2022, 08:34:05 AM
While we don't know exactly how a certain country's CBDC would work, I'm going to guess it would just be very close to how fiat works on finance platforms like online banking and PayPal; that requires AML/KYC by default anywyay. I don't think having CBDCs would change a thing.
I believe you are right about it. I was reading the Five Observations on Nigeria’s Central Bank Digital Currency some time ago and that quoted section cut my attention,

"Like coins or cash, the eNaira is a liability of the CBN. The eNaira uses the same blockchain technology as Bitcoin or Ethereum and, like them, the eNaira is stored in digital wallets and can be used for payment transactions; and it can be transferred digitally and at virtually no cost to anyone in the world with an eNaira wallet. There are, however, important differences. First, the eNaira features stringent access right controls by the central bank. Second, unlike these crypto-assets, the eNaira is not a financial asset in itself but a digital form of a national currency and draws its value from the physical naira, to which it is pegged at parity."

Even though they try to liken it to Bitcoin and Ethereum Blockchain, we can see what the bolded part is noting. Regardless of the country where CBDC has been implemented, I believe that will be the same, pegged to the countries currency which is not the thing with cryptocurrencies and of cause with AML/KYC requirements too.
607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why alt coins don't go up with bitcoin as much they go down with it? on: January 26, 2022, 06:27:38 AM
I think basically when Bitcoin is going down, everybody tends to follow the trend of selling too, bringing the Alts down with it but since the majority of the Big traders/investors are into Bitcoin, it tends to also recover quicker and even the Alts traders join in that Bitcoin recovery to the upside hence Alts will take longer time until Bitcoin is stable before we see Alts big rally.
608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Bitcoin Maxis sell - ever? on: January 25, 2022, 08:24:42 AM
- Even at times it maybe would be the more financally smart thing to do. Maximizing profits aside: How do you guys feel about selling
BTC for fiat gains (or even at a loss [maybe for tax reasons or because your insane  Grin ]?

Do you guys life by the "No Neo, I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready... you won't have to (sell your btc)"-Meme or
are you mere mortals that sell before they lose their fiat profits?

I suppose there are a few maximalists out there that have never sold a single satoshi, but the majority is probably nowhere near that extreme, after all they live in the real world and not in a bubble, so maybe they had an emergency or they got fired  from their jobs and they needed some of that bitcoin in fiat form and they just sold it.

So do not try to uphold a position that for the majority is impossible to hold, as long as you have some bitcoin and you hold the majority of it and you add to it whenever you can then you are doing fine.
This would mean such people have so many Fiat resources that they can afford to not sell anything from their Bitcoin bag and still be able to add to that bag else someone would want to sell and rebuy between the dips and highs which might still amount to selling even if they are not selling for taking profits to spend.
609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Learn to laugh even if Bitcoin is crashing on: January 25, 2022, 08:05:16 AM
actually if bitcoin crashing or not, its doesnt matter right now right? because in the future the bitcoin will be the stable currency that will be used by all country in the world, and when this happen, bitcoin price will be in the high and will never drop / crash anymore
When bitcoin drop or crash it matters a lot because investors will lose very well, so we have to look further for bitcoin not falls, i know that we are expecting Bitcoin to circulate round the corner of the world, but if it continues to fall it will not be adopte to people but when the price goes up people will be queue to buy Bitcoin
First of all, understand that the price of Bitcoin cannot continue to go up forever, there will always be a correction or even a core Bear circle so if you think Bitcoin will only be adopted globally only if the price continues to go up, then you are thinking wrongly cos if anyone truly knows about Bitcoin and wants it, the Bear market is the best time to buy to maximize your investment and not buying at the top.
610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally got paid for some work in bitcoin on: January 25, 2022, 07:58:57 AM
I write apps for a living.  Someone wanted a crypto one done and they paid me in bitcoin. Living the dream.
It must be a good feeling seeing those Satoshis dropped in your wallet. I remember the first time I got paid in BTC for one of the bounties I did, it felt good and wanted more  Grin bounties of such. Just as some most have advised, this is the time to hold on to it for as long as you can because of the nature on the market, you will definitely enjoy HODLing on to it.  Wink
611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Investor Psychology on: January 25, 2022, 06:52:09 AM

People were willing to buy bitcoin at all time high prices and everyone was greedy. Now when bitcoin is half the ATH price, we see no buying pressure. It's strange that people are willing to get bitcoin at high prices but they don't buy it when bitcoin is available at fair cheap prices. This is strange bitcoin investor's psychology.
It is the fear of thinking when they buy, the market might go down some more so they wait, and even when most traders still see that the market is going green, there is also the doubt that it might just be a trap and there might be another reversal but you will notice that traders will only jump into the market when the price is continually going up when they have missed the bottom, hopefully, FOMO again.
Notice I used the word "Traders" and not "INVESTORS" because real INVESTORs would take advantage of every dip even if it is by DCA because their focus is more long-term.
612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need a movie about Bitcoin on: January 24, 2022, 01:36:10 PM
There are many films that discuss bitcoin, some of which are documentaries. Documentary films about bitcoin will provide education for us as viewers to better understand the history of bitcoin and what it is used for. some of the pieces are documented to give a clear understanding and invite us to use bitcoin. for some action films and sci-fi films sometimes include bitcoin in it.

As you said there are some movies in that Bitcoin has been mentioned and portrayed somehow but some of them still like to play Bitcoin in a negative light. One I saw back in 2019 was called CRYPTO, you would notice that the main play for Bitcoin in that movie was about Money Laundering and that is not what bitcoin should or is all about. I do believe that there should be Positive movies or Documentaries about Bitcoin too.
613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think crypto is going to replace the dollar? Jack: Yes, Bitcoin will on: January 24, 2022, 09:06:02 AM
I did not pay much attention into that tweets but just know that fiat are centralized and controlled by governments and the governments are not ready to lose, dollar is one of the existing fiat and the strongest of all. Bitcoin is decentralized and totally different from fiat. This type of comparison usually piss me off because both should not be compared as they are not the same. Bitcoin was not created to replace dollar or any other fiat, it is just an alternative.
Thank you. This has always been my argument and will remain so. I don't understand why people will continue to think that Bitcoin will replace the Fait currency. Frankly, I don't see this happening even though Bitcoin and other cryptos are been accepted for payments doesn't mean it will totally replace Fiat even if most of us would have wanted this. What is the value of Bitcoin? if Bitcoin from the get-go had a different valuation different from the Fiat we so want it to replace these days then this might also be a plus but it is valued in the Fiat $  and even if the Government supports bitcoin I am also sure they still won't give up their currency for Bitcoin, Do you think the US, British or any other major world power Government would?
614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The way things really are on: January 24, 2022, 08:39:49 AM
I can end up getting hated for this but it's the plain truth, if something is already popular then you've already missed the boat, don't believe the hype sell people shovels instead,
True. Popularity = pump.
If there was a coin becomes even more popular and that means the price of such coin is increasing straight with its popularity. That means popularity = demand to buy the tokens. This game is being used by the whale to fool the small traders. The whale was pumping it and then market will pay awareness into such coin and that will make small traders and buyers move to pour their money to the whale that already prepared to dump their coins to the market.

I believe this is the way of the rich people, their perfect strategy that still looks like slavery to my eye
yeah but this can be done only by wealthy people as they have unlimited money to did pump and dump while the small traders and poor guy have small money that can't be used to invest in so many things. This is why buying when coin gets traction was a very bad decision that can be taken by anyone.
Even when that statement is correct, how many traders/investors actually follow that rule. Now the market has dumped quite a bit and all you still see people post in here is the market will still go down some more and most are not thinking of buying this position right now until they see green market again after they must have missed the bottom then everyone starts to jump in again and that is the same thing with every other coin until they become popular.
615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This use case even make any sense? on: January 24, 2022, 08:28:31 AM
Do you know that there are many tokens that offers nothing but rewards when holding them? They most times ends with ---nomics you hold the tokens you get some altcoins in your wallet every 4hrs or so, what is your view on such projects?

It's called a Ponzi scheme. The more you  hold, the more you will get .... as long as enough people keep buying in and keeping it alive
So my question will be, what is the value of the Altcoin the holder will be getting? is it worth the process? if by calculation whatever will be coming into your wallet could come off as a profit for the coins you are holding then this is worth the risk which is part of crypto but regardless, I don't see me investing in such anyways cos I like to really minimize my risk  Grin
616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A crash is also a chance to change allocations of your coins on: January 24, 2022, 08:23:40 AM
We have a very big crash right now and all our coins are at a loss.

While it is very sad to have losses, a crash is also a good opportunity to sell old coins and increase / add new coins. Prices will go up again at some point and for many coins it will result in a big price increase again. Even shortly after a crash, altcoins are likely to get more profits.

A crash has often resulted in a new market segment, where old coins were rejected and new coins gained popularity. It can happen now again!

So let’s have a look which coins could rise a lot, when prices go up soon (next bull market).
I have done some research and listed my personally most favorable coins for a big profit when prices will go up:

Chainlink

Chainlink is a very new coin and was rising last year very fast after it got detected.

But it still has huge potential if you look at what Chainlink is doing.

Chainlink will be essential for a multi-chain future where multiple Blockchains exist in parallel. Because Chainlink is needed to link each chains, Chainlink is in a strategically excellent position no matter which chain is dominant, no matter if Ethereum Blockchain, Binance Blockchain, Avalanche Blockchain or Cosmos Blockchain, Chainlink will always be required to link chains!
And Chainlink has already many partnerships.
As long as Blockchains exist, we will need Chainlink to link chains. Only few understand!
Chainlink will very likely see massive gains!

Avalanche

Avalanche is a top competitor against Ethereum. While Ethereum still needs to finish Ethereum 2.0 (it will still take a long time), is Avalanche already a PoS coins and doing what Ethereum 2.0 will do.

Because right now, nobody is paying 100$ for an easy Ethereum swap. Avalanche has every feature, which we know already from Ethereum, Avalanche is faster, more decentralized and already moved to PoS. In addition, Avalanche has also a limited supply. Avalanche is right now already doing what Ethereum 2.0 will do. Only few people know but many devs are already moving over to Avalanche.
Avalanche is solving scaling by using novel Blockchain technology which experts have reviewed and certified.

In addition, Avalanche will bring new Crypto products for everyone:
- ILOs on Avalanche (initial litigation offerings), where normal people can collect money to go to court and sue big players. While still many people spread FUD about Blockchain ILOs, it can be a very big use case because only few know about it!
- Subnets as unique Blockchains on Avalanche, where people will be able to create own Blockchains based on Avalanche coins. Just like people can create an Ethereum Token, Subnets on Avalanche are for a whole Blockchain, deriving from Avalanche's coin. It's Token 2.0 economy.

Avalanche is a very good coin from a technology point of view.

Uniswap

Uniswap is a decentralized exchange and got popular when it launched.
Until now, Uniswap is leading internally for decentralized exchanges.

Decentralized exchanges have multiple advantages like a very easy access, a democratic surface because we don’t need to trust a middleman. Uniswap is only based on code. Uniswap is permissionless because people don’t need permission to use it and Uniswap does not need maintenance fees.
Compared to Binance, Uniswap is much better.
Yes, Uniswap will flip Binance because Uniswap is easier to use.

Uniswap has a very high chance to replace Binance and profits of Uniswap can be huge.

We might have still some more interesting coins but I will stop here and ask for your opinion:

Which coins are you considering to buy more from after such a crash to prepare for a bull market?

I don't totally agree with your logic of selling old coins are buying new coins, which ones are the old coins you are talking about? Bitcoin is the Genesis of all cryptos, Ethereum, BNB, Cardano just to mention a few are some of the old projects and I believe are still some if not the best coins you should be investing in, some argument is just with the sell old coins and increase/add new coins. cos it could be misleading.
617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My crazy plan for 2025 on: January 23, 2022, 02:24:07 PM
Don't bother telling me that what I'm about to do is stupid or a waste of time cos I've heard this millions of time before and things end up turning out differently, meaning no one can predict the future, I want to store few meme coins why meme coins don't bother to ask, just want to hold them for 2025 by using my mining rig to mine them through unminable pool

1. 10 million shiba inu
2. 10 million safemoon
3. 10 million saitama
4.  10 million dogelon mars

My hashrate is enough to mine 500k shiba per day so I can get all this over with in just a month max, what do you think?

Riiight  Grin OP might probably not get to 2025 before he realizes some insane gains as he believes that people have sad worst that ended up to be the opposite or maybe not, so OP wants to take an adventure. Besides, there's nothing wrong and I don't understand why you are asking here for permission on this, you have the resources to do it and it won't take much of your time, so go ahead hopefully someday you might come back here with a profitable news form this adventure.
618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New meme coin? on: January 23, 2022, 02:09:59 PM
https://nextshib.com/ Do you think this coin has potential?
If someone is afraid to go to this suspicious site, then I have attached a screenshot.

I learned about NEXTSHIB from this review.
I just bought 1 million coins, but I don't know if I made the right decision...
The bottom line is, it is another meme coin and most definitely will only work on hype. Even though I have not reviewed it I could strongly say I don't think it has any use-case and they will be people that will definitely invest in them hoping for a pump someday just like you did without having a convincing reason but let's hope you made the right decision  Grin
619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where are all the bitcoin's Moon boys ? on: January 23, 2022, 09:10:43 AM
Every time the market is green, we see a lot of youtube and social media influencers come out to guide people and to predict the targets for bitcoin and altcoins. But as the market dumps, we see no sign of these moon boys. Why don't they come to advise us in the these times.
Maybe they are unable to face the public because they have given too much unrealistic hopim to the people ?

I don't know, how it becomes an unrealistic prediction!!

Every trader and hodler said that Bitcoin will cross the previous ATH after halving, is that unrealistic?
They said Bitcoin can surpass the Gold marketcap, is that unrealistic?
they predict Bitcoin will touch $60K by end of 2021, is that unrealistic?

which one is unrealistic I don't actually get that.

Bitcoin is not one direction financial system that goes only upward all time, correction is also a part of the system you have to consider it.

Currently, I placed my buy order from $35K to $20K. if it will go below $20K probably I will be out of funds. And I will Hodl till next Bull run. Throw out your emotions and be realistic.
The OP must have bought following the hype and failed to realize that the market is not one-sided as you rightly pointed out. Some traders only want to see an uptrend and when there is any correction, there is a problem, and stop blaming people for your actions, traders should make their own decision from what they see in the market that is if they have learned anything about the market that is.
620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Retail users out? on: January 23, 2022, 09:02:51 AM
Retail users already out, this is why the price was fall... if they aren't out it won't hit $35K. They're scared of the market and can't relax, definitely they will sell in loss. After that, when the market recovered and the price back to $50K they will join again and buy with higher price.

The thing is there're so many articles create bad news about Bitcoin while the fact it's a old news or unrelated, but many people believe it.

I don't believe retailers caused the price drop from $42k down to where we are now around $35k+ but yeah, most retailers must have dumped too because of the fear of not knowing how far this can go but why do people keep doing that though and yet everyone wants the price to keep going up even if they are the first to dump in the slightest down move? I guess that is why they will always lose because they will end up buying back at a higher price.
