621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't punic, just hodl on: January 22, 2022, 08:39:24 AM
The entire crypto market is falling again today, but is this the first time? Didn't it fall the same way in 2021 before the new ATH? And remember what was the level of greed and fear at $40,000 a year ago and now? I see this drop as an opportunity to buy fundamental tokens at a good price. I bought NEAR, Sol, Aurora, Harmony, Link, ADA.

Also a good reason to believe that this is just a correction is the fact that the largest venture capital funds continue to invest money into the market. For example, a month ago Three Arrows Capital bought 156K ETH, or just recently A16z, Alameda, Three Arrows Capital held another round of investment and invested $150M in NEAR Protocol, which indicates that serious guys like a16z and Alameda still believe in growth.
No doubt that these are the best times to buy more if you have those spare cash or some stablecoins available. This is a natural pattern of the market since we don't expect a continuous upward trend throughout. when such correction happens, it brings another opportunity to reinvest from a lower price, and many investors that understand this will be buying more now but maybe advisable in portions just in case the market continues to dip some more.
622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Congress Hearing On Bitcoin’s Energy Use on: January 22, 2022, 07:55:01 AM
I watched the entire hearing and it was surprisingly positive toward mining and cryptocurrencies. There were no environmentalists testifying and very little discussion on environmental impact, and minimal discussion on any negative impact of energy usage.

I suspect that there will be other hearings in which the environmentalists will get their chance to speak.

The representative from Virginia even asked the Bitfury speaker to talk to him later about building mining operations in Virginia.
Definitely, because there is nothing there to discuss as all of the data points to other sectors having a more negative impact on the environment than Bitcoin and all these hypocrites ain't saying anything against those. It is clear that this is just some conspiracy against the cryptocurrency industry and they want a takedown by any means necessary.
623  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Good moment to buy btc or eth? on: January 22, 2022, 07:41:00 AM
Do DCA even with technical skills. You arent precisely can predict or catch the bottom of this. So doing buying with different price isnt bad unless you are lucky to finally buy the bottom but thats a rare thing to happened right? Lile you are all in on a bottom price. The next day it dip more. So definitely its gonna be blood shed. So better do dca so you can average your position at least.
Exactly, and more especially, what's your time frame for this investment. The problem is we still haven't fully grasped the understanding of crypto investment that, only if you are a "well trained" trader that can handle the daily swings, doing DCA for a long time is a better way to invest in Bitcoin because like you said, the probability of you buying the bottom is rear so DCA over a long time will give you a better chance of profits.
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is really controlling the Bitcoin market. on: January 22, 2022, 07:30:12 AM
People always say that they are are waiting for the price of Bitcoin go down before they go into the market for trading and at the same time nobody can predict the market.
Now is the market been manipulated? Or it all depends on the numbers of investors who invested.
There is something we need to understand about Bitcoin.
The more the demand of Bitcoin the more the increase take place. Can anyone predict the market?
Because people are waiting for the decrease in price and are they predicting the market or not?
I don't think have a better understandingn on how Bitcoins

Yeah, people predict the market but to me, it is more like hoping that the market will go down to buy more and go up after that mostly because of what they must have seen via TAs but TAs ain't always the ultimate determinant of market movement even though on a normal situation they are good indicators. As we have seen these past days when most were thinking the market is about to have an upward rally and boom Bitcoin is affected by the Wall street dump of stocks because of fear of what might be the outcome of the FOMC meeting in the coming days. But true, I believe that there are times when the whales kinda manipulate the market for their own gains, and this can't be ruled out.
625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will owning 0.01 BTC really make you rich? on: January 21, 2022, 08:34:45 AM
The question is, how do you own 0.1 BTC in 2022 ?. If you look at the value of bitcoin and market place, it's hard to earn such an amount. The only way to make 0.1 BTC is an investment, but it means you're already rich if you're buying it. Why would you believe it when you already have enough money?. If you go back and invest like $8 to $10, it might become rich. But in today's generation, no one can earn such an amount, not even with mining.

I don't think it is a question of you investing in it once, this is where most people get it wrong. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies happen to be what you can buy in bits which is also good, that give the average investor an opportunity to buy little and little to be able to accumulate to that amount of 0.1BTC and I believe this is doable which is the whole essence of DCA.
626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The faith of Altcoins in 2022 on: January 21, 2022, 08:21:37 AM
The market conditions are very bad in 2022. The price of all the coins has come down. I hope it will be much better in the future. The reason is that I think the price of all the coins will increase a lot in the future
This year there will also be another increase in the market even though each coin will not immediately find new ATH again, but each coin will be closer to ATH because at this point the decline is already quite large on all coins
The decline is not still as much as the decline the market witnessed back from April 2021 which corrected downwards of around -54% and the market recovered from that to find another new ATH in Nov 2021 but this time we are about -44% down, I however still believe that even with all this, there could be a brighter market position in 2022.
627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency is important for a country? or not... on: January 21, 2022, 08:05:59 AM
Cryptocurrency is essential for the development of a country?
Does cryptocurrency play an effective role in the development of the country? Or does it hinder the development of the country and cause extreme damage to the country?
What do you think about this?
Countries have developed before the introduction of Bitcoin and even after the introduction we still have countries that are still underdeveloped. I don't think Bitcoin has anything to do with a countries development except the countries Government decides to deliberately get involved with Bitcoin in a bid to use Bitcoin to grow the countries finance. On the other hand, we can also conclude that since the individuals that are involved in Bitcoin in a country might do their own personal development within the country with their Bitcoin gains, maybe that could amount to what you are asking.
628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Prophesy on: January 21, 2022, 07:16:31 AM
Soon Bitcoin would not be news or in the news as much as it is today. No, it will not be banned but rather there's it would have garnered so much support and acceptance worldwide. The rich, the poor, the upper-class, the middle class, school kids in kindergarten, the mayors of cities, Presidents, Priests and Clergymen, Imams, and Rabbi would own a satoshi no matter how small. My confidence and hope in this belief grow exponentially every day because the world is moving towards the consciousness and reality of cryptocurrencies. It’s damn hard to ignore. Everyone is talking about Bitcoin on the tv, newspapers, radio stations, the coffee shop, the grocery shop, religious places of worship, strip clubs, casinos, in the North pole, Antarctica, Sahara Desert, the Atlantic Ocean, and everywhere one turn towards. In the end, we’re going to have two types of people. The first type of people will be those who got on the Bitcoin train voluntarily. And those who were “forced” because they had no other choice.  At this time, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are not going to be a big deal anymore. No one will care about whales and sharks manipulating the market prices because there will be sophisticated systems put in place that serve as buffers.  It’s going to be like having a dollar or your local currency. Everyone will have it no matter how little.
Why I can or will say yes to this is because, as time goes on, most of the youths that are mainly into bitcoin now and the newer generation that will come after will be the ones calling the shots and most of the ones opposing Bitcoin now, well we know what that is. So in the nearest future, we will be seeing more Bitcoin adoption because of the present generation regardless of profession and religion, creed color, or location.
629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tonga is now accepting Bitcoin donations amid tsunami on: January 21, 2022, 07:08:54 AM
Scammers and hackers are always looking for opportunities like this to take advantage of. I believe there should be more media coverage about this by the government responsible to make it more authentic that the Twitter message is genuine and what the right bitcoin address is else, it could turn out to be another celebrity/politician twitter hack to rip people off.
630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will central bank digital currency (CBDC) make bitcoin worthless? on: January 21, 2022, 06:56:46 AM
There have been talks about central bank digital currency (CBDC), a kind of cryptocurrency that is backed by a central bank. Recently, China is rolling out digital yuan, its own version of CBDC (curiously, it's not using blockchain). Even though China is not the first country to have its CBDC, it's the first major economy to do so. Some people argue that CBDC will make bitcoin become obsolete, as in this article:
https://seekingalpha.com/article/4418567-bitcoin-china-launched-digital-yuan-and-will-change-everything

People who support this view fail to realize that, while CBDC has some characteristics of a cryptocurrency, it is still very much a fiat currency. It can be inflated whenever the government wants to. It is not anomymous (one of the features that crypto users prefer). Users of CBDC do not have the freedom as crypto users do. CBDC may be a great contribution to the economy, but it will not replace bitcoin. In fact, I believe that CBDC may even make bitcoin more valuable. Why? Because with CBDC, it's easier to convert bitcoin to CBDC and vice versa, so people who hold bitcoin may not even need to use an exchange to convert their BTC to fiat, and people who want to buy bitcoin can easily do peer-to-peer transaction without using a bank account.

I long for the day when the Federal Reserve issues the digital dollar. It will make conversion between bitcoin and USD even easier, and we may not need to use an exchange service.

What do you think?
Any country that has introduced its own CBDC check if there is a different value from the CBDC against their fiat currency. There are both one and the same only that they want to pretend that is their own type of cryptocurrency but in reality, it has nothing similar to the cryptocurrency. My own country is one of such where our government is against crypto trading and with the introduction of the CBDC, crypto is still trending amongst not just the youths now but there are even some private schools that accept Bitcoin back before the Government made that announcement and again, CBDC don't have any effect on Bitcoin.
631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hoping to see a bitcointalk token sooner on: January 21, 2022, 06:41:13 AM
please don't say bitcoin. currently, not everyone can afford bitcoin now. we need an altcoin as an alternative token here for payment of service.
Everyone could afford a piece of Bitcoin we don't actually need to own a whole piece or send a whole piece of Bitcoin so I don't see any problem with it.
I think I would love the idea if it would be what all of the bounties would pay their hunters.
It would ensure that the hunters would get what has been promised to them and the bounty manager should also hold at least half of the allocated reward so if anything happens the hunter would still get paid for their work.

The OP wasn't talking about paying Bounty Hunters even though I support your argument there but rather he was talking about this platform, Bitcointalk.org which I am indifferent about but there will be some good thoughts going into it as to what will the token be used for within the forum other than trading it on exchanges like other tokens.
632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does matic (polygon) worth to invest? on: January 21, 2022, 06:30:09 AM
Many people claim that matic is better than dogecoin after the recession last week. Do you agree?
I think it is disrespectful to even imagine comparing Dogecoin with Matic, that is absolute madness. I don't know why some people think because Dogecoin was hyped by some Elon guy it is now equal to very well thoughtful and good use-case projects. Please what if the use of Dogecoin aside that Elon musk as accepted for some Tesla Mech to be bought with dogecoin. Dogecoin will never come anywhere close to Matic and you do know that even the original Devs abandoned the project right?
633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Hold is Gold on: January 21, 2022, 06:24:11 AM
I Holded Doge for almost 6 months it doesn’t rise as much was expected,i shift to c98 it’s also on downfall ,cause the father of all the coins BTC is also in dip ,now i am on hold of the c98 and expecting for its Shine,i think luck matters alot in trading not only Good knowledge.
First of all, Dogecoin is all about hype and if Elon hadn't promoted it the way he did, we wouldn't have been discussing Dogecoin the way we did in the past few months, so I wouldn't really consider that a good or wise investment. C98, on the other hand, is a project on the Defi platform and I believe is a good buy but like you know, the whole market is in a downtrend, even more, today but I believe it is a project you can hodl for a long time so forget luck, this is the market condition right now and everyone is in it.
634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Man lost everything to Crypto on: January 21, 2022, 05:48:46 AM
Real-time incident of an user who trained himself to be a trader. Got addicted and lost everything. Steven is the person who kept adding more cryptocurrency to his portfolio. In an interview he mentioned drug, cryptocurrency and alcohol has destroyed his life. In the beginning Steven knew what he's doing. Later he ended up losing around 5-10 bitcoins. He don't know any information about the addresses and now struggling to recover it.

He says trading is gambling. He has learnt by his own and has always been a good trader. Now he spends day in one of the rehabilitation centre in Scotland.

Data : Man Lost Everything to Crypto
Yes, trading might be gambling in a way because I personally like to invest for a longer time than trading however, with regards to this issue, I don't see what is the case with Bitcoin here. It could have been stocks or some other investment that he couldn't remember his details to and he would have blamed it on that too but the overall thing is, he lost access to his account details because he was waisted in his drug and alcohol.
635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it time to enter the market and buy altcoins? on: January 20, 2022, 07:40:20 PM
Many people saying that bitcoin will fall to 30k but its looking Highly unlikely.  It might, emphasis on might, break below 40 to 37 but I think that'd be the bottom just based on how much institutional money is involved and how much BTC is moving off exchanges.  It's been holding 42 pretty solidly with a couple tests of 40.  I'll be surprised if it breaks below 40 and extremely surprised if it somehow breaks below 37.
I quite agree with you. I believe that Bitcoin has held up pretty good around this price of $40k-$42k and I kinda think if it were to continue to fall, it would have gone below where it is now since it tried it before. I however believe we might not see that drastic drop to the $30k some are thinking but rather a bit of an upward movement even if not to a new ATH.
636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stick to altcoins or switch to Bitcoin or stablecoins? on: January 20, 2022, 07:27:05 PM
if current market conditions continue to deteriorate into the future then saving our assets in stablecoins is the right solution, but if the market will improve slowly then just save your assets in the form of altcoins, in my opinion this is a good solution
I believe that is a decision investors should have made since after Nov 10 2021 when we started experiencing this downtrend and if you have not done that since I believe you had rather Hodl your crypto assets because I think we might start seeing an upward trend sooner from looking at the daily Bitcoin price chat and also I believe the next weekly candle by 24 Jan 2022 might likely ba a Bullish start.
637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What’s the highest gas fee you have ever paid? on: January 20, 2022, 01:55:51 PM

I needed to pay that because I believe that what will come after that transaction will be worth it in the future  Grin $41.89 is the most I have had to pay for the transaction fee since all this Eth gas problem started. I have had to let go of some transactions to date because of the Eth gas fee and some up to $100-$200. I hope with many Bridging options in place we might be able to move forward with those transactions.
638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The World Without Bitcoin on: January 20, 2022, 01:28:15 PM
Have you ever thought what would the world be without Bitcoin? Imagine if the cryptocurrency was never invented and we'd still be living with Fiat (paper money and credit/debit cards). People would be subject to banks' desires without a chance for freedom. A cashless society would be only a dream, without innovations in the FinTech space. Gold would still be an option, but not everyone will be able to access it. The unbanked people will be forced to deal with banks in order to participate in the mainstream economy. A lot of challenges and hurdles would arise without a decentralized form of currency for the enjoyment of all.

What do you think the world will be today without Bitcoin? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

This wouldn't have been a discussion because even back then without Bitcoin, you, me, and everyone here already existed but no one thought of all the issues you stated here as a major problem because we didn't know what other alternative like Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies would have brought but thanks to Satoshi, we can now see and understand a different financial free world. Without these new innovations, we wouldn't have known what life will be with them bcos we don't know them and there are many more to come in the future and this same question will be asked again.
639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Consolidation on: January 20, 2022, 08:52:03 AM
I hold 3 ETH, 10% of a BTC and $20k in Alt (60+ diff Alts) Am I crazy? I jumped in early Sept, only 5 months ago, and while I saw the mid Nov spike, I'm down 25% overall. Should I consolidate?
Both Eth and Bitcoin does not have any problem just keep HODLing cos that is what I am doing currently with my buys also but I don't know which Alts you have invested in but nonetheless, I believe because the whole market has been in a correction for some time now, I am not really worried about my total portfolio loss cos I also believe in the Alts I have invested in too that once the market recovers, it will be good. You have to be convinced with the projects you have invested in.
640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meme coins still makes you rich or end of trend? on: January 20, 2022, 08:41:13 AM
Once people was crazy about meme coin. After publishing lots of article, videos Against meme coins as cautioins, and after knowing that such step would be risky but they keep invested on such coins for earn quick money. Doge was pumped after elon tweet but dump again. now it seems people are more careful than before and most of memcoins got flop. so holding meme coins still make you rich or soon it'll be end of meme trend?
Investing in meme coins has always been a game of chance, investors taking risks and no guarantee that your investment will come out profitable but this is crypto where anything can happen as we have seen with some meme coins in the past mostly Dogecoin and Shiba Inu. These meme coins still have a large community, more than 500k signed the petition for Robinhood to list Shiba Inu and Shiba Inu I think will be a better investment for meme coins than the other based on their line of Development and product.
