641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fundamental Wallets to store your BTC /Other Coins & Tokens on: July 06, 2020, 12:17:44 PM
Your narrative is just one of the many reasons why people prefer hardware wallet. In some cases people choose based on amount of coin they hold, personal attributes such as retention. Generally centralized wallet do not permit total control of your private key while the decentralized wallet allow you to manage and have full control to your private keys. MEW is a decentralized wallet but can only hold ETH and its token. Trustwallet is a better DEX wallet to opt in for.
642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What Happens To The Altcoins If Bitcoin Drops Strong? on: July 06, 2020, 11:03:34 AM
Your post digress from the title. From experience when bitcoin drop strongly, the altcoin too drop. This is not just a rocket science but just because the altcoin price depend strongly on bitcoin. They are specifically pegged to bitcoin. However in many instances, when the price of bitcoin goes bullish, many altcoin price fall shortly or remain unchanged. This is because altcoin holders drops and opt for bitcoin  rather than holding altcoin.
643  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we rely on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency? on: July 05, 2020, 03:33:40 PM
When you need something you either purchase it or it is given to you freely. Bitcoin is specifically designed to be used as currencies and you need to work to earn it so before your needs will be sustained you will need to have bitcoin. Thanks for some freelance and online job that you can work from your home and get paid without having to risk your life against the ravaging covid19. The other question about if bitcoin can prevent economic collapse, I do not think bitcoin can prevent that when there is continuous increase in inflation with GDP becoming lowered
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain is very faithful on: July 05, 2020, 03:08:43 PM
You are talking about reward not blockchain projects. Even though there are numerous scam but there is still some that will pay you no matter how small it is. The only difference is that there are higher success rate in bounty then than now. Also I make sure I still keep in touch with the social platforms of some of the inactive token I have in my wallet to see if they have been listed. 4th pillar is one of them that takes years to get listed on exchange
645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Serious question about Bitcoin. Is it a reliable and stable investment? on: July 05, 2020, 12:24:44 PM
Please let them understand that investing in bitcoin takes a lot of risk and this is exactly why many of us will always advice people to invest anything they can afford to forgone. You cannot earn passive bitcoin by investing in it. If they want to hold for a long time then I can give them some hope that they will earn profit but this is not guarantee because a lot of factors affect the price but we are all hoping for a more brighter future for the coin
646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Problem with Bancor on: July 05, 2020, 10:37:39 AM
From my experience, bancor is one of the exchange that requires exorbitant fee. In fact when you want to transfer or exchange a token to ETH you must be ready to deposit amount above the amount the network suggested for gas fee. In your own case, you said you only deposited the required amount for the gas fee not minding if that amount must have increased. My suggestion is that you deposit amount above suggested fee and re-try the transaction. Network congestion can happen at anytime so it doesn't matter if you didn't witnessed it when you make transaction from one wallet to the other
647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You want the best for your new project? on: July 04, 2020, 06:53:38 PM
Judging from the reviews by many users I haven't seen anyone that talked good about these exchanges, it means they are red flags, I prefer binance exchange because it's well talked about, very easy to choose good exchange using reviews
I actually wonder why these small exchanges are still running when there are massive giants like Binance exist. But, the answer maybe because the same way as there are small dice sites running despite having Primedice.

The list mentioned in the OP I have never even heard any of those exchanges let alone using them or visiting them, all my trading needs are fulfilled via Binance and there is no need for me to risk my money on these exchanges not because of bad coin listing but any of these exchanges might turn scam any time soon .. I had immense trust in cryptopia but after they ran away I have learned my lesson pretty nicely and although it costed me a fair bit but that is the part of life.
It is because you are not use to investing in new projects. If you do, you would have known almost all of them. Especially the Latoken which I have specifically termed them as mere crowd funding platform. They sustain their platform majorly through listing of projects without even verifying them. If you check all the exchange listed by the op you will realize that they are also guilty of faking trading in order to lure traders to their platform. So listing tokens is a win win for them because they collect money and also have more new traders that won't stay long on the platform
648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the market saturated with too many stablecoins? on: July 04, 2020, 04:02:13 PM
Usdt remain the top rank and there has been so many backlashes about bitfinex minting the usdt. I created post similar to this a few weeks ago and the replies I got makes me realized it is not advisable to keep holding this stablecoin as users can lost their holding if this stablecoins go sour. We know people use them to mitigate the lost due to market volatility but they do not represent the real feature of cryptocurrencies.
649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading competition, a plus or minus on: July 04, 2020, 03:06:33 PM
Before, new listed coin used to organise a trading competition in order to boost trading volume and makes the token to rank higher which bring further attentions of the traders to the coin or token. However, as you have suggested it is not a lasting way of promoting a coin but rather build a project that surround the coin which makes the demand of the coin to be spontaneous. This is the only way you have a long lasting trading volume and possible increase in price of the coin or token
650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lesson plans about Bitcoin achieved on: July 04, 2020, 11:18:20 AM
If you need a lesson plan, I will suggest you check out some books on cryptocurrencies. Also depend on the level of understanding of the student you are taking will give you idea of what you are to put up as topic. Introducing the underlying technology which is the blockchain should be the first topic to consider then you can start to broaden the technology as sub topics. For this, I will suggest a book titled "The Basics of Bitcoins and Blockchains: An Introduction to Cryptocurrencies and the Technology that Powers Them' by Antony Lewis.
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: should i invest to this project ? on: July 04, 2020, 05:27:54 AM
I can't tell maybe it is a scam but you can hardly tell how successful it will be. Most projects depend so much on the contributions of the investors and when they do not raise substantial amount, it becomes another challenge that might result in the end of the project. From experience 99% of project this days when listed fall short of the original price meaning they may not be profitable
652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My friend passed away and he have Bitcoin in his wallet on: July 03, 2020, 06:09:14 PM
It is not a bad idea if you tell his parents. Depending on your level of closeness you have with your late friend, you may need to tell any of his parent that you know will be ready to listen to you and do not see you as someone intending to scam them because they do not know what bitcoin is. You need to enlighten them and tell them what bitcoin is and also provide them some of the proofs you have that makes you believe your late Friend has bitcoin in his wallet. I wish you best of luck. Do not forget to keep us updated.
653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what way you’ll inherit Bitcoin to your loved ones? on: July 03, 2020, 03:39:54 PM
Crypto is a form of an asset and inheritance which should be handled the same way you handle all your other assets. If you hold bitcoin I will advice you to file a documents containing the wallet phrase private keys and put it as part of your will same way you do for your other properties. So when you die, your relations can inherit it. It is now left for them to understand how to use the information you provided to access the crypto
654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Opinion: 2020 Rise of Crypto Travel - Bitcoin & Altcoin Expansion? on: July 03, 2020, 06:30:22 AM
Delta airline accept crypto through bitpay I don't know of others airline. There was also a block chain project that launch Mozotoken which could be a gateway to using crypto for booking and doing shopping in more than 3000 shops across the world but the project is currently inactive. The use of AI and Robotics also have its cons and such could easily be noticed in rise in unemployment. Also you make reference to identity when making transaction but I do not think it is necessary for a micro purchase. Is it even necessary for restaurants to know me before I make order for food ?
655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My suggestion on Bitcoin adoption on: July 03, 2020, 05:18:31 AM
If you are literally suggesting that bitcoin should not be made accessible for everyone just like gold you have used as an, I am very sure you know this will be against the reason why it is created. Bitcoin is designed to be available for everyone and the technology behind it makes it in such a way to be decentralized. Being accessible to everyone makes it to be invariably adopted not only as a commodity but an asset that can be traded
656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Current Price Impacted By Miners? on: July 03, 2020, 04:41:50 AM
Then this might be opposite of what people thought post halving will be. We expect to see scarcity which further drives the price up. The situation might be true because miners will be at rush of maintaining their mining rig by selling out their mined assets. Not like before that they might consider holding for a long time. Reduction in mining fee makes it hard for them to sustain the rig. It might get better if a more sustainable ways of mining is explored.
657  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is based on probability. on: July 02, 2020, 07:23:00 PM
I don't necessarily agree with you that it is all probability, there are clearly events that influence and the market, and there are frequently repeating patterns that can be used to your advantage.

You could definitely beat the odds with knowledge while trading, which is definitely not possible if it was all based on odds. Remember, more than half of retail traders lose money, while experts can win in nearly any market—that doesn't sound like it's probabilistic to me.
It is still probability. It is just like someone that says he knows that is what the outcome of result will be after match ended. There are repeating pattern but you cannot be sure maybe the pattern will repeat itself so you look for the best scenario which is what the op is saying. Event influence price as well but you should also know that events sometimes might go anyway. Such is the case of the halving that just past
658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC for the DFINITY airdrop on: July 02, 2020, 10:41:50 AM
Immediately they ask you to pay for KYC should know you shouldn't even consider further. When KYC is required, it is checked in order to prevent the business owner of being charge with AML and abating crime. This doesn't require anything except physical examination. The dangerous is even supersede being scam but you stand the chance of your documents being sold in the dark web. If your document got sold and it is being used for illegal activities, you stand the chance of being convicted
659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How reliable is crypto payment? on: July 02, 2020, 08:39:36 AM
Volatility is the limitation here because it makes merchants and local store considering the loss when the price of the coin goes down. However, with continuous adoption of block chain technology, there is a solid possibility that the crypto will be less volatile most especially the bitcoin so therefore I will encourage you to consider accepting crypto if you are a merchant. Crypto is the future of online payment.
660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trying to recover funds from bitcoin scam on: July 02, 2020, 04:38:03 AM
Day by day, this scammers are deciphering a smarter way of scamming people and this is exactly what is going on here. Losing money to the scammer in the first place is horrible. I'm seen many clouding mining and it very hard to see a legit one. Most of them will end up taking your money and run away. The second part is also a scam. If truly they want to help, they could have done that and remove the fee from the  money.
