On the positive side, these gambling sites accepting helped increase the popularity and usage of cryptocurrencies, there's no doubt about that.
On the negative side, it puts bitcoin and other crypto in a bad light in some way.
Then how we do consider those fiat based online gambling sites? Bitcoin/Crypto is only dragged up with that illegal/fraud issue but in gambling? Its not actually considered to be a problem. I've read stories of accounts getting locked for reason like deposits are coming from gambling sites. That's what I had in mind when I said it puts crypto in a bad light in some way. |

It's better to just spill out the name of the exchange. There are some exchanges that has fake orderbooks and that's probably what you experienced. It's not a rare occasion for many of these less popular exchanges.

Money can be considered as "dirty" for me if it was acquired thru illegal means or thru cheating/fraud. In the case of gambling, winning fair and square should be "clean" and as long as gambling/betting is done legally. When I was in college, there was a hot debate within the church whether or not to accept donations coming from dirty sources such as gambling.
