I would not mind if people gets hyped about the halving next year. There's a good reason behind it though, the price of any commodity tends to increase if it gets harder to produce. That's quite similar to what's going to bitcoin everytime halving happens.

I agree on they should have adopted an existing known coin like Bitcoin but let us not be certain as if we know what is going to happen in a year or two after they launch this globalcoin. They may not be as popular before but they still have a wider network compared to other existing projects.

Well if you can only spend a few hundreds of dollars for fees in sending those tokens to advertise your project to a specific users, then that is already a good thing for these ICOs and other start ups.
