1301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Multiple Projects Accuse Exchange of Being "Coordinated, Chinese Criminal Group" on: July 02, 2019, 05:05:37 PM
It came to me as a surprise! I initially thought IEOs are little more safer than direct ICO route because an exchange is involved in the whole process who might have done some sort of due diligence before adding any token to their exchange. It seems like I got it all wrong!

I've already read some discussions before about the possibility of these exchanges scamming start up projects conducting a token sale in their platform. It only took a few months before an exchange was exposed of their shady IEO activities. I mean there's no point in paying up bitcoins all for fake volumes/purchases just to make it look like an IEO was successful.
1302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What is the best exchange to start a new altcoin? on: July 02, 2019, 04:50:18 PM
If you have a new altcoin, what would be the best choice to list it at first?
1. What kind of altcoin? Is it a token or a coin?
2. How much are you willing to pay for listing fees?

You need to have answers for those questions first because these things are important in selecting exchanges.
1303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware - Resurgence of previously inactive projects on: July 02, 2019, 04:43:33 PM
Thanks for bringing this up. I have not been paying attention to all these sudden "back to life" projects I'm also seeing and yes I do think it's a big red flag especially if they do not have anything new to report to the community like some product release or new strategic partnerships.
1304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: July 02, 2019, 04:17:27 PM
Slow day today after a series of surprising trades. It looks like everyone is just waiting for Kahwi's version of "The Decision". Go to the Lakers (which is likely to happen) or re-sign with the Raptors.

Does anyone want Kawhi Leonard to be part of the Lakers team? If the talk between Leonard and the Lakers management progress and make Leonard be part of the team, does he have the guts to take the spot from James?
Personally, I want the talent to be spread and let them battle it out. I would have preferred for him to sign with the Clippers but that's been ruled out now. With regards to taking the spot from James, he is a class of his own and he's not some hero ball player.
1305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 02, 2019, 04:01:32 PM
Lol.  Yup, that he is...  Expect a kick to the groin (like he did to Gus at their second match), an attempt to dislocate the shoulder or an eye gouge from Jones if Santos gives him a tough time.
That eye gouge of his is already a signature move  Grin
Dislocating the shoulder in the early rounds while they are dry might look dirty but it's a legit move though.

UFC 239:  Embedded - Episode 1

Thiago doesn't look good from this short video.
The Nunes and Holms fight is exciting as well. I'm rooting for Holms but the power behind Nunes' punches is crazy!
1306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 02, 2019, 03:37:20 PM
Not only that Venus Williams is also out beaten by 15 year old Cori Gauff, it was a crazy first day that's for sure.
Considering Venus' age, I would not really call this an upset. She no longer has the legs to cover the fast surface of Wimbledon. It's nice to see new bloods taking out these veterans.
1307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman on July 20 on: July 02, 2019, 01:39:04 PM
I doubt Floyd will face any boxer again as he declared formally that he is retired and even meet Manny for advertisement early this year in Philippines
If the price is right, Floyd will fight anyone who can help him generate millions of dollars just like what he earned from his fights with Manny and Conor. At this point, only Floyd and Pacman 2 can come close to those fights.
1308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 01, 2019, 07:09:34 PM
Jon Jones vs Thiago Santos this weekend at 239.  Curious match up.  Santos is sooo aggro (and he's a hard hitter) and it could be what somebody needs to beat Jones.

Possibly. Jon Jones has a good chin though and he is also a smart fighter. He immediately takes down his explosive opponents. Thiago is from brazil and he might have some ground defense.
Yes, Jon Jones' chin can hold up to Daniel Comier's heavy punches also. He is also strong on the clinch. I'm not taking away from Thiago but this match will be another great tactical fight for Jones. A win by ground and pound.
1309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: July 01, 2019, 07:04:08 PM
Liliard contract is expensive so are Murray, Harris, and Middleton. Klay finally getting all the money he deserves.
Liliard had one great season and he now is getting that much. Harris and Middleton are not even regular starters and also getting a lot. A lot of these overpaid guys will turn into divas soon.

I don't know why Iguodala joined the Grizzles. He could be transferred to a better team and challenge a title.
Nets would be very strong with DeAndre Jordan and Irving on their line up. It would be interesting to see if they are going to make other transfers for the next season after buying two key players already.
Iguodala was traded by the Warriors. I read that lakers are also planning to get him from Grizzlies through a buy out.
Nets also have Durant. That team is already stacked and could be the favorite to win the Eastern conference.
1310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ideas - dead cryptos on: June 30, 2019, 06:35:20 PM
What dead crypto currencies do you know?
There are 41 dead coins listed on this site https://nomics.com but I believe there should be more than that.

What are the possibilities for crypto currencies that almost can't be exchanged any more?
Remote chance to recover. It can only happen if the community takes over abandoned projects. I no longer have any update on Ember but I know some EMB holders stepped up to revive that coin.

Do you have any ideas how to make money on big amounts of abandoned cryptos?
Only if you can fool someone that it's worth something, but don't ever do that.
1311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: looking for ......................................... on: June 30, 2019, 06:09:52 AM
There are a lot of privacy coins to choose from. What is "good" entirely depends on each individual's assessment.

Here are some of them:
Pivx
Onion
Cloak
XVG
Grin
Nav
Dash
Monero
1312  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is swap mean? on: June 30, 2019, 05:45:37 AM
Swap like swapping of blockchain e.g from ETH to EOS or to mainnet, it simply means the cryptocurrency is migrating from one blockchain to another (most times from a third party blockchain to their very own blockchain).
I just want to add, it can also be swapping within the same blockchain but different contract address.

Why they (the project/dev?) need to swap the token?
In addition to what Brainboss already said, some devs do this to fix an existing issue with their smart contract.

1313  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MERIT on: June 30, 2019, 05:39:14 AM
but here I want to know directly from the users about what and how many posts can get merit.

Do not aim for getting merits. Better aim for having a good discussion with the bitcointalk community. Of course, you also need to increase your knowledge about cryptocurrencies so you can be constructive in your posts/comments.
1314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Telegram and Facebook ICOs the beginning of mass adoption on: June 30, 2019, 05:21:00 AM
Well its barely three weeks since i made this post and the crypto market has experienced massive uptrend in valuation with the release of the Facebook Libracoin whitepaper... I believe we have more to expect, sooner or later more reknowned world brands will dive into cryptocurrency and the government of the world will have no choice than to accept it...Adoption is definitely closer than we think..

You think the release of libra WP is related to the increase in bitcoin's price? If so, does that mean that people or certain businesses are buying bitcoin because they think it is legit now that facebook and backers are into crypto?
1315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Significant Moves In The Altcoin Market Are Now Overdue on: June 30, 2019, 05:05:46 AM
This explosive move upwards triggers buying bots, then the altcoins really explode upwards of 50x, 100x or even 1000x over a couple of weeks.
You sound like some influencer on youtube who does not even know shit about crypto and keep saying "moon". Don't fall for this kind of hype newbies.

My favorite altcoin is HST decision token see here: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/decision-token/
Check your trust rating. No one will take you seriously with your shilling
1316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 30, 2019, 04:09:15 AM
And Francis Ngannou defeated Junior dos Santos via TKO. So much power from both hands that when he touches JDS, his legs wobbled and he has no defense whatsoever and the ref just stop the fight, good call. We don't want to see JDS hurt.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5UFkskyXJA

Yup, just like what I expected. It's not even one of those well-timed and executed punches and JDS just went down. The guy totally lost his chin ad should consider retiring.
1317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Basic education for any Citizen on: June 30, 2019, 03:54:40 AM
I think that Governments of developed Nations MUST add a blockchain course to the basic education of any Citizen... starting from elementary schools, and why not, with some basics concept also in nursery.

A young brain in it's primordial state is the base for any further development. Plus everyone should have this education, like an essential human right.

What do you think?

Interesting point. From where I am from, NEM has started spreading the word to universities Schools Offering NEM Blockchain Courses in the Philippines. I think more developed countries can start adding blockchain into their curriculum for elementary education as it is harder for third world countries to implement this.

Found this video by the way which can be used to teach blockchain to kids - What is the Blockchain? (for kids)
1318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I screwed? on: June 30, 2019, 03:39:55 AM
I sold at $7550, am I screwed or will it at least go back down to $7500?
It is a wrong decision you have made. Why do you sell it for $ 7500? You don't trust Bitcoin, and you sold it as soon as it reached $ 7500? I may have to tell you that Bitcoin will never return to $ 7500 again. Bitcoin is still rising and continues to rise, wait for some price adjustments, and you can rebuy Bitcoin at a lower price.

This is not about "trusting" bitcoin. The OP probably bought at $4K and he decided to sell at $7K, was that really a bad decision? Nobody knew exactly where the price is going. Last year, a lot of people are saying bitcoin will never go below $10K again and then what happened next? Those who "trusted" bitcoin got rekt so bad.
1319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 30, 2019, 03:12:07 AM
I will be looking for some value in this years Wimbledon as Federer and Djokovic are at short odds in my opinion, yes both play best on grass but I'm looking for a player on the rise that may challenge them and maybe even beat them. I was looking at Stefanos Tsitsipas but just not sure how he will go on grass, he looks to be a great hard court player but on grass he does look suspect. I really like Thiem but he struggles on grass, what do you guys think? who do you like to win Wimbledon besides Federer, Nadal and Djokovic?

We've seen it happen before that upcoming guys beating the tops seeds. Anyone with a huge serve is really dangerous on grass since the surface is very fast. Aside from Stefanos, maybe one of the taller guys with the fastest serves in the draw can win it all.
1320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Beware of ieo exchanges on: June 29, 2019, 05:10:57 PM
It is becoming a trend recently where an exchange will lie about amount raised during ieo
Only for the token to dump 10x below ieo price

I don't know about lying about amount raised since I have not seen strong evidence on that. There is lack of transparecy for sure but that's not enough. With regards to dumping, I thought everyone knew this would be happening already? It's pretty common among crypto crowdfundings now.
