641  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin not going below 40.000 (probably) on: January 20, 2022, 07:34:12 AM
1. A lot of rich people bought probably at 40.000 and 30.000. So many of them will very likely do lobbying and marketing to keep the price up.
2. News and future events should be already priced in, except a black swan.

Why do you think Bitcoin will probably not going lower than 40.000?

BTC price going below $40k, Possible but I don't think so. If you look at the daily chart price for Bitcoin, you would realize that the Daily price candles are tightening up instead of the longer downward pattern and I believe the next few days will prove where the price is headed properly.

As for the rich lobbying to keep the price up, that too is very unlikely even though many institutions and rich people probably bought with this price range but I do believe if they really have that much manipulating power over the market, they would even bring it down the more to buy more at even cheaper prices.
642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pay with Bitcoin on: January 20, 2022, 06:43:33 AM
Now such a practice has been introduced in different countries. With Bitcoin you can buy pretty much anything now. In the past, you could not buy anything like this with Bitcoin. But now in our country with bitcoin Many things can be billed. For example, you can shop with Bitcoin. You can buy different things with Bitcoin in different shopping mall centers. The more the world is updated, the easier our shopping will be.
Like it or not, you have to keep up with technological developments or something else. Now a lot of bitcoin users, so companies should see this as their business. In addition, when many shopping centers use this as a payment method, we as users also benefit. Because it is easier to transact.
There is a clear advantage of all this, it is that most countries are already considering a BTC as an asset or almost currency, since many bills and regulations are being developed, at least in South America many government activities are being generated with Regarding this, if we look at El Slavador is the pioneer and it is a country whose president dared to take the step that no politician in another country developed he has done, so far things have turned out well, I think uqe the countries they will introduce BTC as legal tender when it reaches $ 100k.

For me, I am not worried whether Bitcoin will be adopted as a legal tender but as long as it is not Banned, so the thing then is, if any Bussines, merchant, or institution decides to accept Bitcoin as a means for payment for goods/services is up to them if they have the proper payment system in place. From OPs perspective, he/she wants to accept Bitcoin for payments for their services which is a good thing if they have the right payment system in place and as long as the country they operate in did not have a law against Bitcoin which in MHO is key rather than emphases of being a legal tender.
643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is the safest of the 'safest ways' to store Bitcoin? on: January 19, 2022, 08:35:14 PM
If they force you to give your keys or Bitcoin, it will be up to you.
That's why the best thing to do is stay quiet as much as possible, you don't need to tell everyone that you own Bitcoin because that will make you a target.

Another thing is even if you will use hardware wallet and you give them access to it like the private keys or your wallet seeds, you will end up getting robbed also.

You are right about that. I remember the other post about how some people now save their Crypto access info in a Nucle type security vault, I also remember my opinion to that post was just like what you said here about keeping quiet about the number of cryptocurrencies you have which I believe is the most security you need other than the other obvious of also securing your Private keys and passwords. I do believe if people don't know about your Holding you are less likely to be attacked.
644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donald Trump Says Crypto Is 'Very Dangerous' ... but ... on: January 19, 2022, 07:57:41 PM
A week ago: https://news.bitcoin.com/donald-trump-crypto-very-dangerous-warns-of-explosion/

Donald Trump commented on cryptocurrency ... in an interview with Maria Bartiromo over the [last] weekend:
“What do you think about crypto?” Trump was asked. Bartiromo noted that “New York and Miami are really getting cryptocurrency into their financial systems.” The former U.S. president reiterated his anti-crypto stance: “Well, I never loved it because I like to have the dollar. I think the currency should be the dollar so I was never a big fan. But it’s spilling up bigger and bigger, and nobody is doing anything about it.”

Trump has never been a fan of crypto. In August, he predicted that cryptocurrencies are “a disaster waiting to happen.” In June, he called bitcoin a scam that needs heavy regulation.

... but ...

Melania Trump announced the launch of her own NFT platform as well as her first NFT “Melania’s Vision”. The platform is based on Solana ...   source
https://melaniatrump.com/nft

And Trump was also asked about the former first lady’s non-fungible token (NFT) endeavor: Commenting on his wife’s NFT plans, Trump said: “She’s going to do great …"

 Huh

I hope that he knows, that NFTs are on crypto blockchains.

Well, who doesn't want to make money off of anything crypto-related now  Grin Even Trump is making a U-turn by supporting his wife about launching her own NFT collection or maybe, after all, they could claim that these are not cryptocurrencies but an Art collection  Grin
We have seen a lot of people/institutions in the past that have condemned Bitcoin only to adopt it years later, this could be the same for Trump.

645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin User Loses Record $1.1M on: January 19, 2022, 07:44:28 PM

Quote
A bitcoin user lost more than 26 BTC worth $1.14 million to online thieves posing as MicroStrategy chief executive officer Michael Saylor.

Whale Alert stated, "this scam received the single largest payment ever to a fake giveaway."

Saylor said he reports the scammers to YouTube every 15 minutes, and they are pulled down hours later, but the criminals are relentless.
https://beincrypto.com/bitcoin-user-loses-record-1-1m-scam-michael-saylor-giveaway/

Another ironic story. For me, it looks exactly like this. A person who owns 26 BTC falls for the bait of scammers who, allegedly on behalf of Michael Saylor, promise to double his capital. Maybe I'm too skeptical. Having a decent capital in bitcoins, it would be worth checking the information on several channels than throwing away bitcoins, counting on increasing your capital. While those 26 BTC may not have been the last in his portfolio, and for the owner is not a big loss. Huh
I am not surprised people still fall for this scams but I see it as being greedy. Why would you believe that type of giveaway from a person of that status, as in, even in my low level, if a Michael Saylor wants to do a giveaway, I don't think he would ask for your deposit for a double and the person could have varify this.
646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should we sell all crypto now? on: January 19, 2022, 07:29:01 PM
All crypto is dropping now because of FED. It seems that it’s the start of the bearish market. Should we sell all crypto now?
As of the day you made this post, Bitcoin was trading around the $42-$45k which is still not far from the current price Bitcoin is trading on today of around $41k - $42k. From the look of the daily bitcoin chat, it seems Bitcoin price is hovering around a good resistance and might see an uptrend if the support holds but I do think if you didn't sell while BTC price was higher, there's no need at this point cus you might just end up selling low and buying high, just my thought.
647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I Don't Use Brave Browser on: January 19, 2022, 06:43:23 PM
I do use it sometimes because I think it is a bit faster and free from most of these unnecessary ads pop-ups that disturb your browsing sometimes but it also blocks some of the needed pop-ups from some of the sites I use and that makes me switch to other browsers but other than that, I think Brave browser is actually good overall.
648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It won't hurt on: January 19, 2022, 06:34:16 PM
It won't hurt to have 100,000 shiba inu coin in your wallet you know, I'm saying this because I used to have 1,000,000 doge coin in my wallet but got tired of holding it and sold, we both know how much that it today so we can't say if shiba can make its way to where doge coin is right now, it won't hurt to have some in holding

I agree. I believe that unlike Dogecoin even though we have seen now how Elon Musk is giving it all he's got to hype the coin which has really worked somehow, Shiba Inu on the other hand has a more utility purpose than Dogecoin considering that the team launched a decentralized exchange (Shibaswap) and they also have 2 tokens, LEASH, and BONE which are both useful in their ecosystem, I think HODLing some amount wouldn't hurt  Smiley
649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is NFT a way to whiten the black money? on: January 19, 2022, 06:21:29 PM
NFT is very easy to mint, anyone can mint and sell there NFT through different platform. But can this be a way of money laundering or whiten the black money? Imagine, someone is hacking cards and buying ETH. And then they are on other side, minting NFT and buying their NFT themselves. So, the hacker is easily bypassing the law. Black money is turning into white money in a very easy way. What is your opinion on this?

In this context yes and not far from reality. I definitely agree with you on this. I believe this is the same problem Bitcoin is having where people believe it is a means for money laundering and NFT just fits right in that same role as per your example. HAckers and Scammers alike, people are always thinking of how to beat the system, when you see what some of these NFTs goes for, and you begin to wonder why so much hence, what I am saying is that, this cannot be totally ruled out.

651  Economy / Speculation / Re: No strength in Bitcoin in higher time frames on: January 19, 2022, 10:56:58 AM
Bitcoin is very weak in the higher time frames ( daily & weekly). Slowly and steadily, bitcoin may break the 40k important level. Also on minor bitcoin dump, we see massive dump in the altcoins.

I wonder if we are about to move in the bear market ? What is the hope of bull market in the current circumstances ?

I really don't think so, as in your thoughts about Bitcoin being weak in the higher time frames, that is what should happen I believe if it is close to the bottom of a correction.

First correction came down -50%

And this time, around -42%

I still believe we are coming to the bottom of the second correction because BTC has not broken the blue upward trendline downward and I also think the $41k yellow line will also act as another strong support but if BTC happens to break these two downward, that might call for concern to me but for now, not. Even the weekly candle is still above both lines.
652  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin makes a loser a winner on: January 19, 2022, 10:27:28 AM
I don't know if something similar has already been posted on the forum, but still. I love these artifacts. This is the story of bitcoin, the story of how people felt about it at the time, 10 years ago.

The case when the losers became winners. Yes, I understand that there is an extremely small chance that these people were able to make the correct profit from this consolation prize, and most likely they got rid of these coins almost immediately. Although, everything can be, and one of these guys still became a millionaire .... who once lost.

This picture shows well the era when bitcoin was not taken seriously. Few understood the potential of this asset at all. As a result, at current prices, the winner received 2 000 times less than the loser. Cheesy

Bitcoin is a digital property that is constantly growing in value. Take care of it, because in 10 years those few million satoshi that you once received somewhere, even on this forum, can turn into a very impressive amount.
True that. As you said, those that received the Bitcoin as compensation then most probably just got rid of them quickly for whatever price but if any of them for some reason see it as insignificant and forgot about it for a longer time and was still able to access the wallet years later will certainly have made a good fortune from what ought to have been the last position. There is definitely a good lesson to be learned here, even a simple faucet adventure I have been engaging in for some time now is worth about $22 cos I click on it every morning once I log in to my system  Grin I know it will be worth even more years from now plus more clicks  Wink
653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is it good to penalize airdrop hunters? on: January 18, 2022, 09:38:42 AM
Airdrops are a great way to attract people into newly-fond crypto projects. They're basically "free money" for not doing anything in return. Some projects have been widely successful after an airdrop, while others have gone all the way down the drain. There's been a upsurge of airdrop hunters looking to "milk rewards" from the system, effectively dumping all of their coins/tokens on the market for profit. While most projects have been quite flexible in the eligibility for an airdrop, one project decided to take the stand by adopting measures to prevent abuse. Parachain Swap's airdrop has been quite controversial as it only rewarded a small portion of its users. The vast majority of the people weren't rewarded (especially airdrop hunters), resulting in a decline of the token's price.

Do you think it's a good idea to penalize airdrop hunters? Will this do more harm or good to the adoption of crypto/Blockchain tech? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
For me, it depends, If after the announcement or made known to the public that there might be some form of airdrop within a certain crypto project and you see a surge into the space then those types of hunters are most likely to dump almost Immediately after they receive it and I too was amongst those people when it comes to Paraswap and never got any airdrop but I understand.
On the other hand, if they really wanted to reward their loyal users that have been using their application for a long time even without expecting any form of reward, then I think those should be at the top of the list and people should understand this except the project just wants to attract a new audience with this airdrops then I believe some have done it that way then it will be for all.
654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hoddle or day trading on: January 17, 2022, 07:45:22 AM
I have some altcoins I bought at the ICO stage which did x pricee movement and now are dead while others are still at a stable price but I will like to make some profits at this time should I continue holding or start trading them to make instant profits what will be your advice in this situation.
For me, It all depends on the project. What were your ideas of these projects before you invested in them, the ones that failed what did you think made them fail, and the ones you are still holding, what are the projects doing that makes you think they will do better price-wise in the future? I don't think investing in crypto blindly is a good choice so something with the project may be a or some Developments about the project should make you say you want to keep HODLing because you believe it will grow in price and don't also forget to take profits at some point.
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you use stable coins? on: January 16, 2022, 09:36:08 AM
Hi, I'm a normie who finally got into crypto in nov 2021. But I don't get stable coins. When you sell your crypto, why don't you just convert back to fiat and put that fiat into your bank account right away? I worry about stable coins becoming un-pegged; this is a big concern for me; it's an extra worry that you don't have if you just convert back to fiat right away.

I can see using stable coins as a trading pair to purchase alts on a dex but I don't understand holding stable coins for longer periods of time like weeks, months or years as a store of value; to me this feels way too risky. What am I missing?

Might be different if you could do a lot of your every-day normal shopping with stable coins but right now you can't.
You might be right but you do understand that every trader has their own view of how they make their decision. Just like you believe that stable coins can have whatever type of issue, do you also believe that as at the time your fiat is changed to any crypto for trading that the same crypto can have an issue and you might end up losing your funds? Crypto trading is basically risky and even your fiat currency has that risk too, haven't you heard of countries' currencies losing value every day due to a high level of inflation? so haw safe is your own currency?
656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla now accept crypto payments on: January 15, 2022, 10:32:47 AM
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced dogecoin adoption as payment for its products, this news came after Elon musk earlier tweeted about the done coin being a better payment option compared to Bitcoin. As we can recall that Tesla use to accept Bitcoin payments in the past before putting on hold its crypto payment gateway.
This announcement gave dogecoin a push-up in price as the coin gained 25% after the announcement.

I don't see anything going on here. Even when it was just an announcement of support for the coin, we saw a better upward rally back then and this announcement of adoption for payment Tesla merch would have pushed more than this or maybe it was just because it was for the merch and not for "Tesla" the Car  Grin Grin Grin Anyways, I don't think there is much Elon can do again for Dogecoin we can say he tried  Wink
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doge coin will be the future crypto spacecraft that will take you to the Moon. on: January 14, 2022, 07:42:15 AM
What do you think that will make Bitcoin? when "In Summer 2022, BitMEX and Astrobotic are sending a unique physical coin to the Moon, loaded with 1 Bitcoin".
https://www.moonb.tc
Elon Musk can do all he wants with Dogecoin, at least he has tried by pumping it to an unimaginable price for a meme coin but this is not taking over the real Coins position ever.
658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Know when to buy and hold on: January 13, 2022, 09:34:04 AM
I don't know about you but for me I will only hold coins for long term if we see a unforgiving bear market ( better buying opportunity ), I believe bear market hold the key to long term holding, I can't buy coins at high price sorry ( present market is buying at high price) and decide to hold for years, I will only buy now to sell later ( short term ).. stupid idea? Let's hear your thoughts
I want to believe that you think the market will dump back to $3k Bitcoin price like back in 2018  Grin Grin Grin what is the high price you are talking about? Bitcoin just literally fell to about $39k just days ago, you defiantly going to wait for a long long time for that price you are hoping to see which you might not see again because if you are actually planing for the long term, then this market price shouldn't be an issue for entry.
659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Fear and Greed index. Don't time the market! on: January 12, 2022, 08:17:57 AM
I think ...if you experienced the price drop from $18 000 to $3000 back in 2017 or after that... you cannot be called a newbie anymore. A lot of people thought that the price will go down to zero back then and it was panic stations all around. The die hard Bitcoiners stuck to their guns and they Hodled right through that.

The reward..... $60 000+ Bitcoin price in 2021  So, what have we learnt from that? ...Answer : Do NOT panic .... hodl for long-term profits, not short-term losses.  Wink
Exactly and most especially when you happen to buy at about the top of the market. Most people tend to cut their loss because of the fear that they don't know how far low that price might get but if you have been holding from quite a good price from the bottom, I would definitely take some profit or sell to buy buy back once we are near the bottom again though this is hard to confirm but this is the risk we all have to take in this space.
660  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What the fuck does binance want? on: January 10, 2022, 06:48:43 AM
Everything I needed to do was done outside so that I can get the best clarity. Selfies, taking pictures of the documents all I did outside so that I can get proper lighting. I don't recall having many problems completing my Binance KYC and everything was done with my phone. OP, I think you should try doing everything outside as most have suggested.
