642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: April 01, 2018, 05:26:15 AM
What makes you think the alt coins like this are going back up?  They are all falling in price right now because in this nutty system when bitcoin tanks...everything tanks with it.  Four months ago FOMO around Thanksgiving and Christmas had tons of stupid money pour into Bitcoin and alt coins.  Now all those who poured in at 15-20k are burnt and out for good.  Or HODLing the bag as whales pump and dump 24/7.

Bottom line is almost all the altcoins are 1. scam or 2.  a horrible actual investment as you are essentially crowd funding ideas with no responsibility to you.

As for Bitcoin...it is not a future currency.  Currency cannot have the volatility nor should it be investable.

What do you think the discussions will be like around the Easter meal?  All negative.  Don't fool yourself and quit hodling.

Many had the same attitude about crypto in 2014-2016, it's typical market cycles.

Not all altcoins are scams and some of them are actually really good investments, no one said bitcoin would be a future currency. Most of the people you see on TV talking about bitcoin say its a store of value similar to gold.

You seem pretty bitter about crypto in general, if you quit "hodling" why are you here bashing the forums?
643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOBYTE [GBX] - Masternodes, PoW, Secure, ASIC Resistance, & Decentralized on: March 29, 2018, 07:32:27 PM
BIG WARNING – MY COINS WERE STOLEN when I trusted some stranger on internet !
I was helping a friend to set up a GoByte masternode. We got some problems with the set up. I searched for help, and I got contact with someone called “Dev” via Discord and he said he could help me with the masternode set up via TeamViewer. We got in contact via TeamViewer and he was very friendly and said he could help me with my problem with the masternode. But instead he hacked my wallet and transferred and stole 1000 GBX from my wallet and logged of and logged out of discord and deleted his user I think. I have the wallet number where he transferred the coins and I have his TeamViewer number in the Teamviewer log. Can someone help me to get my coins back? It wasn’t even my coins, it was my friend’s coin, and now I own him 1000 GBX.
I really hope the thief need the money for something very important like food and clothes. I feel so naive and stupid and I am really amazed how I was so stupid and let him in with Teamviewer on my computer. I really hope Gobyte emplyees could hand out some good information how to use and setup the Masternodes so nobody else won’t get their gobytes stolen while trying to find help from strangers.
I would be happy to get Gobyte donations to help my friend to get his masternode quickly up and running. My friends donation address would be:

Gobyte adress(GBX wallet) : GLd1nJd9wpJVVYs9GQKrH8fNVyHsqDmruK

Big thanks if someone bothers to support … and never let anyone connect your computer with Teamviever….

Sucks man, very sorry about you're loss...or you're friends loss that is. Important lesson here is obviously to be very cautious when dealing with anyone that says they will help you set up a masternode. Good luck hope you find a way to supplement the losses for you're friend

645  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 29, 2018, 02:33:34 PM
Keep wanting to believe that 2014/2015 bear market is unlikely, even Tom Lee said on cnbc fast money the other day that there are WAY more on-ramps than there were back then. Also at end of 2013 when price ran up to 1200 the biggest exchange got hacked (gox obviously), holy buckets are things different now....

But I guess if tether somehow collapsed it could cause a similar systemic dump?

Maybe I am delusional and only want to remain a perma-bull, so shoot me..
646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] ICON - Interchain Blockchain Network / Hyperconnect the World! on: March 29, 2018, 02:28:25 PM
ICON meetup in Shanghai   Grin

think, that after the end of the Asian round news will come new good news,so same and those which concern airdrop and bounty payments Wink

Roadmap

March, 2018 — Token Swap, Mobile wallet
April, 2018 — IISS launch, ICO platform

Dapps

Blue Whale Network : Presale April 1st
Sentinel Protocol: Public sale mid April

Makes sense that they would do the main-net and airdrop after this tour that they have run, crowd looks somewhat small though....it's just kind of demoralizing though to think about the Dapps coming out in the sense of exchanges. Seeing how hard it was for ICO tokens of 2017 to get listed anywhere and the coming crackdown on exchanges (US SEC warnings, UK today) it could be hard for bluewhale, tink, sentinal ect to get listed other than on icon's internal exchange...i guess thats fine.
647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ¤ DMD Diamond 3.0 | Scarce ¤ Valuable ¤ Secure | PoS 3.0 | Masternodes 65% on: March 28, 2018, 09:55:40 PM
markets look like the turning point for DMD is reached

What promising walls! Let's go Diamond. I like these walls and their operational ways. Sooner or later, we will see what whales do with theses walls.
Thanks for the valuable image, crypto it.

Was an 11BTC wall yesterday at 78k sats, not 7BTC but price has risen alot since then

The same thing happened last time DMD went to around 70-80k....just huge buy walls come from nowhere...someone out there won't let the price of DMD get very low  Cool
648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which GPU to get RX 580 , Vega 64 or 1080TI on: March 28, 2018, 08:45:34 PM
depends on what coin your going to mine, i would go with the nvidia 1080ti personally, I thought i remember seeing a post some time back that the vegas didnt have a huge advantage over cheaper cards? maybe someone could correct me on that?

mining is long term play though and it's a more conservative play, people say its better to just buy off the market but i would rather have the money i invested in December have gone into cards rather than the market  Cry

649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ENDED]GBX-The Crypto Harbour.Gibraltar-based Crypto Exchange&Token Platform on: March 28, 2018, 08:37:28 PM
May want to think about a different ticker...

GBX already secured by gobyte and trades on cryptopia, cryptobridge and hitbtc....

wouldn't be that hard to change it and would reduce confusion
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Steemit.com: Blogging is the new Mining on: March 28, 2018, 07:32:28 PM
LOL, who else is getting bored with Steemit now. Are you guys also witnessing a drastic drop in upvotes to minnows? Things were still better just a few months ago, but now it's just the shit posts at the top and quality authors are not even getting bread crumbs!! I am thinking of leaving Steemit. It has been 1 year, and things have gone from bad to worse. Yes, the prices of the Steem and SBD have increased many folds, but that's the case with most other currencies. As for the upvotes, I think it is easy to get upvotes if you make groups and do the vote for vote shit; or do the traditional, effective whale ball licking; but there is no genuine curation going on. Anyone else here feels demotivated to use the Steemit platform?

Seemed like you had to suck up to certain whales to get up-votes, or if you were some hott chick who would show cleavage and talk about traveling. Otherwise you weren't going to make anything. Maybe some bloggers were able to get on there and grind their ass off to finally make a little bit of money.

But if some big youtuber would get on there they would be making a shit ton of steem right off the bat....it just never seemed fair to me. But it's better than facebook I guess.

As far as the price I think now is a good time to buy, its near the bottom in satoshi price.
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: March 27, 2018, 07:30:36 PM
Hello guys and girls. This is very perspective project, by my point of view. What price should we expect this year from EOS? What do you think?

I think the success of a project is not only technology is very strong, but also the application can be landing, and one of the most important other is the community's support.
It seems that the community of an eos is very active. It should still be a bit of a prospect.

Thanks for answer. I will agree with you, EOS have strong community and platform is great if you ask me. It wouldnt be in top 50 if it isnt great project idea and technology implemented in EOS.

Go to coinmarketcap, under tools go to historical snapshot and then go to march 27th 2016 (2 years ago)

You will find that about 30/50 of the coins that were in the top 50 back then ARE NOT in the top 50 today...but on the other hand bitshares (same dev as EOS) was 9th. Bitshares is still around today and doing well..
652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: March 27, 2018, 03:34:53 PM
Recent news from coinbase has created a stir of speculation on what ERC20 tokens will be added to their platform.

When EOS goes to their own chain and integrates DPOS, wouldnt this technically make EOS a security and in turn wouldn't meet the requirements of coinbase's terms? Any token or coin that rewards people who hold it (any POS coin) would be considered a security right?

Can anyone comment on this?

653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] ICON - Interchain Blockchain Network / Hyperconnect the World! on: March 27, 2018, 03:13:53 PM
All this thread has become is leeches trashing the project because they didn't get their precious free coins right when they wanted them, its ridiculous.

You guys will get your bounties, it's free coins in the first place so stop crying about it. It's obvious none of yall even care about ICON, only about your free crypto.

Its because of leeches like these this whole forum has gone south, if your going to promote a project or wear a signature atleast know about the project and have some positive regard for it....for fuck sakes have some integrity.
I don't understand why this father tone? people Express their opinion on the topic, and you go to the person and say that this is a freebie, where do you know - there are many different options in which people spend their real money, not to mention the time and energy. I look on you and understand that you simply are looking for an conflict with other people, cool here all are equal.

Other people will agree with me on this, its not just my own opinion.

I am not trying to create conflict, but it's frustrating because the project is good and they run these campaigns to raise awareness and create evangelism within the community. But instead it only brings in people who don't want to be evangelists they just want FREE coins.

How many people waiting on their bounty have actually read the whitepaper, if they really believed in the project they wouldn't be complaining about getting their coins yet...just my opinion, no worries. Sorry if i come across as a dick.

654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: March 27, 2018, 02:40:47 PM
I didn't get anything on my wallet either. How to solve this problem.? Are there any people who got the coins?

If your holding your ETC in a wallet then you're Callisto isnt just going to show up in you're wallet because the wallets are not compatible and
Callisto has not been launched yet.

So on yobit the people who are trading Callisto are essentially trading IOU tickets of Callisto, the coin has not been launched yet.

As long as you have the private keys to the ETC you hold in your wallet you are entitled to the equivalent amount in Callisto, you will have to wait until there is an official release where you can redeem your Callisto through a wallet.

Just be patient, you have your coins you just don't see them yet, no worries.
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] ICON - Interchain Blockchain Network / Hyperconnect the World! on: March 26, 2018, 09:43:08 PM
This is probably a dumb question, but is ICON going to have any kind of "staking"? I know they mentioned the concept of "Loop Fault Tolerance" or something like that, but I'm not sure how that would be related to proof of work or proof of stake, and so on.

Not a dumb question at all, this thread really needs more tech specific discussion.

So from what I have found is that they are aiming to do a delegated proof of stake mechanism, so their will be staking but it will be by people who are voted on by the network. Think of Ark or bitshares but it will be ICONs loop fault tolerance chain, how this effects proof of stake im not exactly sure, more will probably be known after mainnet launch.

Also another thing that is interesting is this concept of C-Reps, nodes that connect to the "nexus"....these c-reps sound like representatives of other coins that connect to the nexus to make their foreign coin compatible with cross chain swapping. Maybe there will be incentives for these c-reps that is different than the DPOS mechanism.

ICON is a really interesting project but I feel like there are still a lot of stuff people don't understand, I imagine there will be a big push to rally the community closer to mainnet when they really need more nodes.
656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOBYTE [GBX] - Masternodes, PoW, Secure, ASIC Resistance, & Decentralized on: March 26, 2018, 08:44:07 PM
I am stay tuned, keep patiently and wait for more news in the second quarter of the year of 2018. Hope that in the second quarter, we will witness two or more exchanges listing Gobyte on their platforms, and it might be better if those ones are big, good exchanges.
Most of the big exchanges ask for business/company registration number, address and contact phone. So we might have to register "GoByte" as a business. Who knows.

something like a gobyte foundation?

<insert whatever tech name here> LLC

"we build and provide software to interact with the open source project of go byte"

 Cool

Then you have to fund terrorists masquerading as guberment via taxation, how do you plan to generate income to warrant the taxation...

Grow brains!!!

You do realize there are a lot of companies out there that have registered and then interact in parallel with a blockchain that is open source code? Sheez go fud somewhere else newb.
657  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 26, 2018, 08:17:56 PM
Coinbase has announced ERC20 support.

Pump everything. Now.

https://blog.coinbase.com/adding-erc20-support-to-coinbase-fe9cba6782b

Closer to listing new coins but they released another statement on how they are waiting for more USA regulation before choosing to add tokens...

Interesting that they will list coins on GDAX but may not offer them on coinbase, any thoughts on what would be an ERC20 token they would list?

EOS? TRX? QTUM?....BAT? who knows

P.S- I own none of these
658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: March 26, 2018, 08:01:37 PM
Wow, pretty sad what is happening to LitePay, Charlie Lee and the Litecoin Foundation have apologized for failing to conduct due diligence on LTC-based payment processing startup LitePay!!! And, unfortunately, I think this could affect LTC! Here's the sad news https://www.ccn.com/we-got-too-excited-charlie-lee-litecoin-foundation-apologize-after-litepay-vanishes/ !

Big setback, leaves a gaping hole in the 2018 roadmap....

Wonder how jsnip4 and trader boss will remain bullish  Cheesy Cheesy

659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] NextWeb Coin – Decentralized Publishing, Messaging and Forums on: March 26, 2018, 07:06:55 PM
The wallet also supports an anonymous marketplace. For example: fiverr.com allows members to offer their digital services  - SEO, logo/graphics/web design, video production, etc - to other members. However, fiverr.com take a significant portion of each transaction. With NextWeb Coin is there is no middle-man to take a cut.

But, there is one issue: illegal content.

Recently, child pornography links were found in the BTC blockchain, which caused some backlash.

How does a new censorship-free publishing platform deal with illegal content? I’m interested in your opinions.

Thanks.

LBC Lbry credits deals with a similar issue but they have a naming system involved with their chain...that would be coin to look into for more information.

Otherwise i'm not sure there is really much you could do?
