641  Economy / Speculation / Re: what a surprise dip on: August 22, 2023, 01:30:55 PM
Quote from: SmartGold01
What is possibly to happen in the market, more dip that's seeing below 20k or something similar?

I don't think, the price of Bitcoin will decrease more than $25,000 before it will start increasing to hit higher in the market for those that are still holding Bitcoin for bullish market to come, they will not miss their opportunity. This surprised decrease of the price of Bitcoin that just happened few days ago that made the price of Bitcoin to decrease from $29,000 to $25,000, show there is a hope for holders to smile before the end of this year because the green light is still displaying in the market to make holders to be bold that something positive will still happen. I believe this is the time to hold because this bearish market will not take a long time before it will turn to bullish market soon.
The decline had stopped at $26k, not far from $25k but I was on your side and also hoping that this will be the end of the price dump. Because in the moment that it drop below $25k, it created more panic and stress for those who just bought a while ago at $29k.
Though we can't set aside that possible decline but can't hide the fact that this is a little bit surprising because we thought that we are moving forward and surpassing $30. Unfortunately, we've got this opposite direction and made the community draw negative speculations and market views. Well, I hope that everyone can still hold their Bitcoin and remain strong.

I think these bigs are enough to slow down KAT. They do not necessarily need to totally stop him. They just need to slow him down and force mistakes and awkward shots. Individually, they will not slow down KAT but if a system is in place to counter KAT, then there is a possibility they can contain him.

Against Canada and Spain, KAT had a good percentage on the field goal so the opponent forced him to give up the ball to his teammates particularly on the corner where we can afford them taking rather than KAT taking the 3's or driving down the lane which could cause foul trouble on our bigs especially Junemar whom i think is a bit slow to guard KAT.

I think we have the chance to win against DR if we can limit KAT's offensive output, let his teammates beat the Gilas not him terrorizing the paint and dominate the middle for that high percentage shots.
In my opinion, there should be 2 bigs playing together for Gilas. One to guard KAT, and the other one should be waiting in the paint. This way, if KAT slips past his primary defender, there's still a big man who could defend him. The only big man who could potentially limit KAT in the paint is JMF. So maybe JMF and Sotto, or JMF and Edu, will be playing together for a good combination.

However, this is just my opinion. KAT is an NBA-caliber player, and he likely has many skills that we may not have seen yet.
You could also consider adding Japeth; he is quicker than the other bigs. If he is at 100%, we can rely on his help to give KAT a hard time. I think the defense is more focused on KAT. I'm not sure if doubling him all the time would be a good solution, as this big man is also a good passer, with teammates who are strong attackers and some who are proficient 3-point shooters.

This is a challenging task for Coach Chot; hopefully, he'll amaze us.

BTW, Gilas lost to Mexico by 7 points, 84-77, Jordan Clarkson didn't play as he was rested but Gilas management assured fans that he is okay and good to go on the weekend.

Not so disappointing, in fact, by the looks of it, it seemed like we could really beat Mexico if Clarkson was present.

If Clarkson had played, there would have been a big chance for us to win. However, all of that is just speculation, as Mexico would surely make adjustments if an NBA player were to play. Nonetheless, it was still a good game for them. At least in the last two losses, we didn't look so mismatched.
643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crawford vs Canelo-Charlo winner (no date yet) on: August 22, 2023, 11:55:04 AM
In an interview on the Joe Rogan show, Terence Crawford expressed his desire to become a three-time undisputed champion and revealed his plan to move across three weight divisions to potentially face the victor of the Canelo vs Charlo bout. If this scenario indeed unfolds, I'm curious to know whom you're supporting to win. Please feel free to share your insights on this matter.

Well, Canelo are most likely going to win against Charlo, but who knows - so I'm still taking the scenario of Canelo vs Crawford lol.
The weight differences are the thing that could hold up this fight to happen though. Canelo needs to come down and Terrence needs to come up a huge weight, both are risky for them. It could be draining for Canelo and something for Crawford that would affect his body conditioning and performance. Though nothing is impossible if they agree at a catch weight just because the fans are craving for it, then I guess a massive money involvement could make things possible.

Canelo stresses that he can't no longer make weight below 168 lbs, so it's going to be in the ball on Crawford to go up in weight in 3 weight classes if he wanted to have a fight with Canelo.

And it was really Crawford who are going to test himself here, to be as great as Pacquiao. And I heard one boxing analyst says that if Crawford goes up and fight Canelo and beat him, he will be greater than Floyd but it is up for debate.

Crawford might be willing to take that risk and move up just to face Canelo. According to him, Canelo will likely beat Charlo, as Canelo is simply on a different level. So, he underestimates Charlo and considers himself a worthy opponent for Canelo. If Crawford is looking to add more achievements to his career, he would want to become undisputed once again by defeating Canelo. Based on records, there hasn't been a boxer who has beaten Canelo in his favored weight class.
644  Economy / Economics / Re: It ain't meant to be easy on: August 21, 2023, 10:43:51 PM
Life is just easy but we make it hard because we already overthink that success comes too fast which is why we worked hard, we wanted to make it happen right away and so we stressed our minds. But if we just let it comes to us without chasing it to happen instantly, I was sure that we're still good and healthy.

But this is really what we are, we consider life is a sort of competition like business and we need to be on top among others in order to become famous. It was too hard to change the way we see life and so we can see that everyone is aggressive to move forward and do everything just to reach their goal.
645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I will pass KYC later is a bad idea on: August 21, 2023, 01:41:32 PM
It's not always the casinos fault, I know some are dubious but the thing is KYC verification is something you should first deal with before making your first deposit.

This is the right course of action if you're committed to your gambling activities. By submitting the KYC information and passing the verification process, you eliminate the possibility of the casino denying your requests or asking for additional requirements. Once you've completed the KYC process, they won't be able to use it as an excuse. It's a wise decision to undergo KYC as long as you're prepared to provide your complete information and have confidence in the gambling site's ability to maintain its confidentiality.
646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 18, 2023, 03:43:06 PM
Since there's no new update yet regarding the fight, let's discuss what Bob Arum said about his fighter Inoue, who he believes is probably better than Pacquiao.

What does he mean by that? Does he mean they have achieved more so far at the same age or division, or does he believe that Inoue would be able to surpass the success of Pacman? Many experts believe that there's a very slim chance that someone in the current generation would surpass what Pacman has achieved. So, if Inoue is special, he might be able to prove the experts wrong.

One advantage Inoue has over Pacman at the current age is that Inoue is still undefeated. However, if we compare the quality of opponents they have faced, I think Pacquiao has fought more challenging opponents than Inoue.
647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: August 18, 2023, 03:02:31 PM
Just interesting to hear though that Canelo knows that his critics is saying that he has lost some steps, and this fight will proved that he still has it, or just slipping away and might be the start of his downward path in boxing.

At least though he has recognized this and so he knows what are the stakes are, besides the belt and the money. The stakes is that this fight will be a good measuring stick for him and his team to see if he can still pull the trigger or score a knockout victory.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about Canelo in this fight, given that he's competing in his preferred weight class. Bookies seem to recognize his strong potential for victory, making him the clear favorite. Analyzing the betting odds, it's quite apparent that Canelo is highly likely to emerge as the winner.

Canelo Alvarez Vs Jermell Charlo Betting Odds

Quote
Fighter   Odds
Canelo Alvarez   -230
Jermell Charlo   +170

As both a fan and a bettor, I won't overcomplicate things. I'll simply look forward to enjoying the upcoming fight. Jermell Charlo undoubtedly poses a awesome challenge for Canelo. However, as I previously mentioned, my support is firmly behind Canelo for the win.
648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 18, 2023, 02:04:13 PM
I don't what to speculate but it should be around the money I guess. Maybe he was promised to have a good money this season. But the owner turn his back on Harden.
Words are very powerful, and they should be honored. If James Harden is promised good money without conditions, then he is due for that. However, sometimes these businessmen are very clever; they tend to use their power to influence a player's decision but ultimately may not stand by their words. Nowadays, the system has already changed, as players can make demands. In the case of James Harden, being a superstar, I'm pretty sure he knows what he's doing. He understands that he won't lose his job, even if the 76ers decide to trade him, which they have refused to do until now.
649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has nothing to do with crime on: August 18, 2023, 10:30:25 AM
If you are a malicious person, you can use Bitcoin to commit crimes. This means that intent is one of the important things that determines the purpose of a tool. If you stick to the intended use of Bitcoin and adopt its philosophy you will understand the importance of monetary movements and transparency in the economy. In an environment where transparency is at the forefront, it will be very easy for you to be caught even if you are involved in crime.
Everyone has a smartphone these days and just because we have a smartphone, that doesn't make us guilty. What we use the phone for is the most important factor that determines the crime. Therefore you will not be committing a crime for using anything. What determines this is entirely your intention. Bitcoin has nothing to do with crime and is a revolutionary tool that will radically change humanity's relationship with money.
Yes, it depends on the person for whom it will be used. But it does, some people make use of this technology for illegalities which makes the name Bitcoin become a tool for crime.

These days, many scammers use Bitcoin to scam people and it eventually gains a negative impact and ruins the image of crypto. Many people got caught doing this and so we can't blame others to think that Bitcoin is scam stuff and increase crime because we know that it really happens. Which why the government is trying to control cryptocurrency in order to stop people from committing crimes using this.
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins that you will be hold till next Bull Run on: August 17, 2023, 02:05:37 PM
ETH and BNB, are the altcoins that I have together with Bitcoin. I know there are a lot of potential altcoins, not to mention them all, but I'd think it was not necessary to have them all or many altcoins in order to earn a profit because having the two and investing more of them have no doubts that it gives you back during Bullrun. It was not the number of altcoins but the quantity we bought. I know that ETH and BNB could somewhat give a bigger chance to skyrocket during the bull season and most of all, I can manage my investment pretty well.
651  Other / Archival / Re: No panic while holding my Bitcoin on: August 17, 2023, 01:35:23 PM
Welcome to the board OP @why2why you have done so well by already learning about bitcoin before investing, you didn't made the mistake other investors do, some of them just rush into bitcoin because they heard that Bitcoin pays, this shows that you are ready to learn more about Bitcoin, as you have already invesed few weeks back I hope you have made up your minds planning to "Hold On for Dear Life,” (HODL) this is one of the easiest way to accumulate more coins as we are already waiting for the bullish period.
As long as we understand how this crypto investment works, there is nothing to worried about, and even though it takes several years of waiting, certainly we can still do it very well. And this is the reason why many investors can afford to control their emotions and are willing to hold because they believe that they won't get disappointed and even rewarded more.

If our goal is to earn a profit, then, what we gonna do to keep strong and focus on our goal, not on the negative things happens around because will affect our mindset and brought us to the wrong direction.
652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: August 17, 2023, 12:43:55 PM
Although the fight is not yet final as we have seen Regis throwing tantrums that the Haney's is changing the terms specially the purse split.

I don't understand what kind of disrespectful act the camp of Haney is engaging in. They are the challengers, yet they want to dictate the terms of the purse split. We know that Haney is more popular, but they should respect that Regis Prograis is the champion. As a basic rule, the champion should receive more benefits in terms of the purse split. A 50-50 split might be the lowest acceptable, but if Haney were to request a 60-40 split in his favor, I think that would already be unjustifiable.
Yes, I agree, for sure it has something to do with the split that they are offering Regis, the current champion at a lower cut in the money here. And it's good that he engage the public here. Although not sure if the Haney has replied to it. But if you look at it, this are all businessman who wants to take advantage of their opponents to gain more money as far as split goes.

For me it's ok to call this 50-50, Haney is not a crowd drawer in his own rights. In his last fights, he need to have a good opponent to have a good PPV tickets and live gates. So it's just fair for Regis to complain if he is going the smaller cut here.

He is the current champion, so he needs to maintain his position. Besides, if this fight does not happen, he will remain the champion and can still fight other boxers who challenge him. Who knows, he might get a shot at a unification fight, which I think is bigger than fighting Haney. Haney is the one who needs this fight; he is also trying to build his legacy, so he needs to become a champion. If he is too greedy, he will not get what he wants.

654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins important? on: August 16, 2023, 09:52:32 PM

Usually it was the Bitcoin who can affect the altcoin the most, not the other way around. Before a new altcoin is released, developers needs to test it first or they can do an experiment but after it, they can deploy the project in its final state. Bitcoin is already a finished product so they can't experiment on it anymore but I heard that some experts are experimenting something which can then be used in Bitcoin to make Bitcoin more functional.

It sounds interesting and if it's a success, it could surely attract more people in Bitcoin. Not all new altcoins are useful but many of them are only a scam. They only bring negative changes in the market.
Market development had to keep going, many experiments had come on and so many new projects have been born as well. But it was not the thing we need here in the crypto space in order to become known and functional because what we need is a project that will help to improve and very helpful to the community, not these projects that only will ruin the crypto market.
What I mean is that we only need a few coins that represent crypto. We have plenty of it now and we don't need more but developers still making more and it become a scam. We're not making good but instead, we are getting worse.
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Free NFTs real or fake? on: August 16, 2023, 09:30:03 PM

Folks are improvising on a daily basis, different formats are adopted towards infiltrating people's assets, whatever they consider important and attractive to users and they vibe of the era is always what they have adopted.

Giving out 1.5 ETH currently isn't easy, it sounds suspicious to me already. I will advice that people do more research when they want to apply for the airdrop or things around it promising huge rewards.
It is a big surprise to anyone who has got that certain amount without any information about who did it. Of course, you will be wondering why and that sounds tricky thinking how this happens when you don't never send any participation like airdrop or campaigns. This is really a suspicious thing and what will happen next we never know. But for that move, we already think that this is a kind of scam trick I guess it was better to just ignore it as scammers have a plan that we never know what they gonna do next.

Speaking of tune-up on August 18, does anyone knows where to bet, have not seens any odds on my favorite bookies.
Let's wait for 1 day before the game. Do you have any information regarding their opponents in the upcoming tune-up games?

Below are the schedules of the tune-up/friendly games of Gilas in which after these games, the final 12 will be selected so everybody must do their best to be included in the final 12.

August 18 against Ivory Coast
August 20 against Monte Negro
August 21 against Mexico

The game against Mexico I think is for Gilas to be acquainted with the South American style of basketball.

Are these teams also participating in the FIBA World Cup? I can't seem to find Ivory Coast on the  list, So, I would also like to know whether they are part of it or if we are discussing other teams here. Regarding the betting odds, I'm quite certain they will be available 24 hours before the fight, as this is part of a significant event (even though they are friendlies). Many fans will be watching this.
657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 16, 2023, 12:03:36 PM
Though we don't have any update yet and maybe they are still trying to continue hyping this drama to make sure that there are people who
will continue to buy and support the possible rematch.

Till then, all will continue to be another speculation if rematch will take place and if Paul will accept the challenge in another types of fight.

Maybe they will have to talk about the rematch after a couple of weeks. Most likely they are just enjoying their vacation but for sure if there is demand for this fight to happen again, they can definitely sit down and talk about it, and most likely how much Nate is going to received and stakes and what will be the storyline to make it more attractive than the first fight.
They are possibly talking about a rematch because of the big success of the fight. They can reflect for a while. Is the rematch still necessary? For me, and I'm sure most fans would agree, a rematch is not necessary. It's very clear who won the fight; it was obvious that Jake Paul dominated the match, and Nate Diaz was only focused on surviving, not winning. It's no longer enjoyable; it seems like Nate is intentionally putting himself at risk for the money. So, where's the value they will provide to the fans?
658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking Coins With Annual Returns - Good Idea on: August 15, 2023, 09:51:48 PM
Staking isn't a bad decision but choosing the wrong exchanges, wallet, and coins really matters a lot because the results will depend on them. If you are badly choosing any of those, you will never expect Returns/earnings but you probably get losses. But this is not the reason why I don't do staking anymore because of the risk involve and the profit sharing because I know myself that I can make more if I'll never stake my coins instead, I use it to trade.

Well, the only thing I would say to you OP is to be more cautious. Research and background check is very important because a single mistake will certainly lose your money instantly.
659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 15, 2023, 12:05:46 PM
He doesn't have any option if he wanted to earn a decent amount of money, else he will take another alternative
with a lesser price of money but have that decent chance of maintaining his belts.

It will be a decision to make for him and his camp, no update yet regarding to this negotiation.

If I were in Tapales' shoes, I would choose to remain a champion and face challengers. Though I would receive a smaller amount of money than what I could potentially earn against Inoue, there's a chance that I would earn consistently. The thing is, if Tapales unifies with Inoue, the likelihood of losing is very high, and he might also lose his popularity eventually, making him unable to get fights anymore.

So it's a big risk. Let's say 'big risk = big rewards,' but he has to consider the other side.
660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 15, 2023, 11:15:45 AM
Kawhi has always been one of the biggest "what ifs" in the history of NBA, of course there are a lot more as well and this isn't at the top for sure but he is a big one. This dude won 2 fmvp's and is not even considered remotely anywhere the top, not even in any top 10 topics ever, I am not saying that he is not in it, I am saying he is not even considered to be in it at all, ever.

How many other 2 time finals mvp's can you name that people wouldn't even consider a small slight chance of them being in top 10? Nobody. That dude spent 2 years as bringing championship to his team, and all rest of his career as spending time resting his injury. That's really not normal and should be considered a bit weird but unlucky at the same time.
He's just underrated.

Sadly, there are players that have been at the top of fans preference and that's why they're more getting recognition. They're talking about title's and what, while some are getting the huge contracts despite not even touching a finals game.

And if it's about title, no doubt that Kawhi did it without that much of a superstar roster for his last or most recent title still, he's able to count on that roster that he's been with.

Crazy how one play against a dirty player seemingly derailed Kawhi from what an amazing career. Not to say he hasn’t had one, but he was certainly cut down right before his prime by a dirty close out. At least the NBA addressed the issue with a rule change, but you have to wonder how good Kawhi could have been.

Yes, for San Antonio Spurs fans, they wouldn't forget how ZaZa did that intentionally to Kawhi and it did have a butterfly effect, first NBA have to change the rule and give space to the shooter, and second Kawhi won a ring to Toronto.

But that really derailed Kawhi's career and I think it is still the offshot of that dirty plays that up to still this day Kawhi didn't recovered fully and when he went to Clippers everything started to fall apart on his side.

It resulted in a good adjustment from the rules. After that incident with Zaza and Kawhai, NBA adjust the rules about that kind of defense,
good for the future players but for Kawhai it's really affects him.

Though after that he still won another title plus an FMVP but it didn't work out well as up to know he still suffering from that injury
and still curing it and trying to adjust to help his team.

We never know what awaits for him in this upcoming season. Hopefully, we see some healthy run from him.

I believe that was called the 'landing spot' foul. Kawhi managed to win championship with the Raptors after his injury was healed as he request to be traded, so I would say he's doing well. Perhaps his increasing age has made him more susceptible to injuries. However, with proper management, akin to what the Lakers did with Davis, the Clippers could become a powerful team in the playoffs. Given their roster featuring PG and WB, reaching the playoffs shouldn't be an issue, especially since they've been building their team chemistry.
