661  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: money dissapeared on: December 23, 2015, 03:39:08 PM
Ok.. I understood about addresses, thank you for your explanation.

And what about this connection trouble?
Is there any other way to use my money if the program doesn`t want to connect?
Maybe some online interface from browser or another program which can restore the same wallet or... whatever?

You can export your private keys from electrum and import them into any other wallet and take control of your bitcoins, if you're looking for a web wallet which does this then you can use blockchain.info wallet's import wallet feature, although I wouldn't recommend it because web wallets are not as safe as electrum is.

Another way is making a raw transaction with electrum and broadcasting it with blockchain.info's push transaction, that way your keys and btc remain safe but you will have to do that everytime you want to send bitcoins which can be a bit of a hassle.

Hi,

I want to change my btc address, can I ?
May be! Try changing first in your profile so that bitmixer bot can detect your new address.

I think that's all you have to do, actually.

But as soon as you do I think it will count it as a new enrollment cmiiw and if you do it in between weeks then you might lose payment for posts which you made prior to the address change? Undecided
663  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: uninstall electrum on: December 22, 2015, 05:06:45 PM
It depends on how you installed it.
Do you remember?
It was preinstalled on Tails (Debian).

If Tails comes with synaptic installed then just search and remove it from there.
664  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: money dissapeared on: December 22, 2015, 05:04:48 PM
it seems correct. seed is written as it should be. but.. nothing Sad
where else can I check my balance? besides page "adresses"?

You can check the balance of that address on any block explorer such as blockchain.info/address/1xxxxxxxxxxxxx

1xxxxxxxxxxxxx = your address

If it shows the correct balance then don't worry, your funds are intact, electrum just needs to sync properly and when it does the light will at the right bottom will turn green and you'll see your funds in there. If it can't sync then you need to check your network connection and your firewall if it is blocking any ports etc.
665  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum default transaction fee very high on: December 22, 2015, 04:56:08 PM
Default is 0.5 mbtc/kb

I set dynamic fees, now it is 0.26 mbtc/kb

should i reduce this to 0.1 mbtc/kb and the transaction will go through without any issue or can fees go lower?

Edit:

I did a transaction with dynamic fees now i have est. confirmation time: Within 6 Blocks (Medium Priority)

the fee was 0.00005114 BTC (went very low than i expected) for 225 bytes transaction size.

In multibit it usually shows high priority when send 0.1 mbtc/kb fees.

should i change the fees or is it ok?

Please let me know.

Thanks.

Edit 2: Got confirmed in 48 minutes.

When you use the dynamic fee option it calculates the transaction fee by bytes, so if you choose 0.0001 BTC/KB and the transaction size is 250 bytes then the fee will be around 0.00002xxx but the latest version 2.5.4 has the lowest amount of fee set to 0.00005 BTC so it will add atleast that much to all the transactions even if you have set the dynamic fee to the lowest.

I have now set it to 0.0005 BTC/kb and my transactions confirm normally which is within next 2 blocks and the average transaction fee I pay now is around 0.00011+ BTC
666  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cannot withdraw my BTC from BTCJam! on: December 22, 2015, 04:32:36 PM
I am really pissed. It is the end of the year and I don't hear from anyone from btcjam. Despite the message of the support you can read above. you're a bunch of thief, you cannot withhold my money! i have my btc stuck on my btcjam account and you are knowingly ingoring me and all my messages.

Did you went into a coma and woke up today after almost 3 months?

You should have stayed more active and should have kept updated about this issue on this thread and if you still haven't received your money back then at this point it seems like it is lost forever. I don't use BTCjam or any lending service but I bet it would be there in their terms that once you're blacklisted they'll freeze your funds.

Googled "btcjam blacklist", it got me here and I was right:

A user is put on the blacklist if they have violated our terms of service, have fallen behind on payments or defaulted on their loan. On the blacklist, all actions on the account are revoked, except for adding funds and making payments on a loan.

You can't withdraw money but you can add it?  Undecided

I don't think they'll let you withdraw your money now since like you said you have wrote to them many times and haven't received any replies. Sorry for you loss, how much was it btw?
667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 21, 2015, 01:18:45 PM

Don't expect any miracles, SL has lost this match, they lost it when they failed to put up a good score on the board, they had no pressure, they needed to play calmly through the day but they played like amateurs and all the credit should go to NZ bowlers, their batters couldn't chase the first innings total and were in a tight position but their bowlers stepped up and turned things around. This match will be over in the first session tomorrow, the NZ's current rate is around 1.05, if you can bet big, this is a sure shot to make a profit.

in the game of sports you cannot you cannot tell what will happen next if sri lanka can get all out in 63 runs, why not new zealand can get all out in 30 runs, they are 5 wickets down , now only kane williamson is the key players if sri lanka do some sensibly bowling tommorrow then i think they can come back in the match.

you cannot tell before match finishes who will win surely, even if newzealand will win but not in first session they will win after 2nd session mostly if i am not wrong, if tommorrow first wicket williamson get down then we can see good match.

LOL

Did you bet on SL?  Cheesy

Betting is based on predictions, you read teams, their playing style and the situation of the match and based on that you make predictions and the situation in which NZ were in yesterday it was CLEAR that they will win this without any problems and they did. And you're wrong that if one team got out early the other team will too, that's the difference between teams. Good teams can take more pressure and they focus and perform better when the victory is in sight.

669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 20, 2015, 12:46:51 PM
Sri Lankan bowlers delivered amazing today but they lost control at some moment i think they got relaxed that is why New Zealand got recovered after huge disaster it was looking all team will crash under 200 runs as like they were losing wickets so quickly i still hope for New Zealand.

I think so New Zealand can make comeback if it succeed to deliver good bowling performance than it can otherwise i don't think it has chance.

Agreed with you, New zealand have to display some terrific bowling performance if they wants to comeback in this match. If not then they will loose it by big margin.

sri lanka has really come back very nice with bowling and now they have to show some good batting in 2nd innings then they are back in game , they have to take lead more than 300+ runs then i think newzealand will be in panic and that time sri lanka can bowl well and take wickets like in 1st innings.

like what i said 2nd innings is important and got a good high odd in new zealand to bet, and it payed it, they restricted sri lanka for less runs but also batted well but still they also lost 5 wickets now kane williamson is the main key player if on 4th day if he gets out soon then new zealand will also be in troubled.

This match will be over in the first session tomorrow, the NZ's current rate is around 1.05, if you can bet big, this is a sure shot to make a profit.

why don't you just wait?Master-P is a trusted member here, so just have a little patience...

When the reindexing is done, you will get your money back...
What do you mean trusted?
How could you trust anonymous person?
He is forum member
No ID no address
Do not fuck around telling he is trusted.
He is another anonymous person who done some succesfull trades before but it doesnt mean he couldnt run away now!
And OP asked for escrow. But now money stuck.
What it is ? Free loan for a couple of days while his wallet get fixed? Ha?
Escrow kills people time!
Escrow is the same dangerous as sending first!
Not a first time escrow provider runs with the money.
And wondering if Master-p will pay intrest for that 1btc he borrowed?
Or you want to say me it is not a loan?

Calm down man, everyone faces technical glitches and you're right, Forum-escrows are anonymous members of whom we know nothing about but they're still more trusted than newbies who haven't traded or spent time on this forum.

If you're trading online, you're going to have to trust someone, either that would be mediator or you trust the person you're dealing with directly. It's up to you who you choose to trust.

Let's just wait before blowing this thing out of proportion.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 18, 2015, 03:40:04 PM
Just checked the weather forecast for next couple of days for Hamilton, NZ and it doesn't shows any rain, just some cloud and so we can expect to not get any more interruptions but it is still very difficult to predict which way this match is going but it will definitely go to the 5th day in my view.

Big Bash league is underway btw, I picked Adelaide Strikers for today's match and they played beautifully, my pick for tomorrow's match is Melbourne Renegades Team, they have a solid line up and the odds are great for them 1.74 atm.
672  Economy / Gambling / Re: BlockBets.com | 100% Blockchain Multi-Player Bitcoin, Altcoin Game | Shapeshift on: December 17, 2015, 04:17:42 PM
Its hard to guess actually.. i never know about how big the size kb on each block lol.
Anyway i wanna try but can someone tell me what is average kb of each block
As HardForkComing mentioned, you can use our Block Data tab to see the average block size.

Or use any other block explorer like blockchain.info and to answer the previous question, I have deposited, played and have won on this site also, but in my view it needs more active marketing campaigns because when I visited there was serious lack of players and you need atleast 2 to play a round and it's quite frustrating when you pick the correct size, which is the closest to the block size and you win but then you realize there was no one else in the round.
673  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Rated # 1 by Bitcointalk Members ! on: December 17, 2015, 04:08:12 PM
Horrible odds, have bet thousands here and this site is ridiculous.. They offer such horrible odds compared to other BTC Books in terms of live betting.. 1.29 Odds for something that was 1.83 on Bet365 and other BTC Books.. Ever since I had horrible customer service and them thinking they are always right, I will be done with them..

can you prove this I mean can you display the image or other images ?
I am an active player here but do not even think about it should wait for evidence from you and Directbet  answer this.

a picture as proof is not necessarily needed AFAIK as many users already noticed about the odds that DirectBet is offering, most users complain that DB offers ridiculously low odds compared to other sportsbook sites

He is talking about LIVE odds and if you have betted live you'll notice that they change very frequently during the game, it might have happened that by the time he checked the odds on both the sites they were changed due to the events that happened during that match. I don't know about other sports but I have seen it happening in Cricket many times, odds of any side can jump or go down several points in any over if a side loses wickets in row or too much runs are scored.

I don't have any problems with the odds when betting with DB and they do, do their best to provide good experience to anyone betting on their site but I guess you can't please everyone, no matter how hard you try.
674  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Cold Storage or Multisig? on: December 16, 2015, 04:21:17 PM
I use Electrum cold storage wallet and till now haven't faced any problems, multisig can add another layer of security to your cold storage but I never really felt the need for it because I make sure that the machine which has the keys stays offline and is only used to sign the transactions but as Shorena pointed out if you have a malware on the machine which is online and that malware spreads through USB then it can compromise the security of your cold storage wallet but this is why I use Linux for my cold storage and autorun programs/malwares don't get executed even if they're carried to the offline machine, although I make sure that my online computer is clean as a whistle.

But there is another way to avoid this problem, Paper wallets, make them offline, print them and use them only for one transaction, for example, you want to spend 0.5 BTC to 'A' from your paper wallet which contains 1 whole Bitcoin, so you go to your offline machine, import the paper wallet's keys, make a transaction where you send 0.5 to A and the rest of the BTC, which is 0.5 you send to the other paper wallet which you made earlier, bring the transaction online, broadcast it and voila! your bitcoins are safe because even if a malware or hacker knows your keys, password, etc. they cannot know the key of the other paper wallet which you printed offline. Wink
675  Economy / Economics / Re: Do your Christmas shopping at businesses that dont convert bitcoin to fiat on: December 16, 2015, 04:00:28 PM
Honestly I don't care if service I am using converts bitcoin to FIAT or not. The one thing I care for is direct bitcoin acceptance if that requirements is met then I am fine.
I hate the idea of imposing on merchants any rules, they can do whatever they want with their money: convert, invest or hold.

Exactly and this type of attitude towards businesses who convert bitcoins to fiat will only push people away, let the business owners decide how they want to run their business, not everyone understand or is familiar with safe keeping and/or using bitcoins, which is why they use services like Bitpay which does the job for them. If Amazon decides to accept Bitcoin tomorrow by using a similar service like Bitpay, would you expect people to not use Amazon?

People who use bitcoin as remittance services, also converts them to fiat, even miners sell bitcoins to cover for their expenses, it's a currency, everyone is free to sell/buy it, more businesses accepting it, increases the trade and it ultimately helps bitcoin become more popular.
676  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info -> Shared Coin -> All my BTC's gone on: December 15, 2015, 11:45:41 PM
Hi.

I was cleaning up my stored adresses in blockchain.info and finally tried to mix them using the blockchain inlcuded service "shared coin". The problem is, all of my ~24 BTC's show up as confirmed to one (!) random adress i can't remember of having sent some coins manually to, and no coins have showed up till now.

Interestingly i've found an older thread of someone having a pretty similar problem:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1o7vbi/blockchaininfo_stole_5_btc_from_me_over_a_month/

I'm sad, angry and confused, that just doesn't make sense. I'm using 2FA before every transaction, and i cerntainly didn't paste "any random adress" in. Also, the shared coin option was really bugged, it showed several errors and to be honest i can't even remember that it finally worked.

The "recovery" function that can be found n the shared coin tab also doesn't work, whatever it is supposed to do..

I already contacted the BC staff, waiting for reply now.

All you can now do is wait for the Blockchain.info's support response, I have never used that service, so can't say how it works or how safe it is, but shouldn't you have researched more about mixers before sending such large amount to one?

This is written on the website: Your coins never leave your control and therefore it is impossible for them to be stolen or confiscated. Don't know what they mean by that but it should be related to the recovery function you're referring to.
677  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin exchanges (cryptsy in particular) on: December 15, 2015, 10:35:20 PM
Cryptsy already turned scam. Say goodbye to your coins and move on.

I think it's because they're out of funds, these exchanges convert the bitcoins to fiat and vice versa and when the price is up they don't want to buy because they will lose money and which is why they hold withdrawals. Exchanges are the biggest scams in Bitcoin world, run one legit for some time, let the bitcoiners think it's trustworthy and when you have enough, make up a story that it was hacked, wait a while then come back with a new name.

The thing is whenever you send bitcoins from your wallet to anywhere, there is no assurance that you will get them back. There are  legit services/exchanges but it's so hard to know which is which.
678  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: In plain fucking English, how do I get bitcoins off paper backup into Coinbase? on: December 14, 2015, 03:38:28 PM
The easiest way would be (although it is not recommended) to use blockchain.info wallet, it has an import wallet feature same as coinbase and once you have imported all the keys you can send the funds over to coinbase.

Electrum is also a lot easier and safer than online wallet like blockchain.info, you can download it from here: https://electrum.org/#download  and importing keys are explained here: http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#can-i-import-private-keys-from-other-bitcoin-clients
679  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: want to start mining on: December 13, 2015, 01:00:00 PM
Mining with PC is no longer possible and/or profitable, your friend will end up wasting a lot of time and electricity and in the end the only thing he'll get is a burned motherboard. Mining requires quite a investment and then you have to spend some more money on electricity. Its better to buy bitcoin instead of spending so much money on mining equipment.
Can we mine altcoin with PC ?

You could but I doubt you'll earn anything worth the time and energy cost.
680  Economy / Economics / Re: When do you buy Bitcoin ? on: December 13, 2015, 12:57:18 PM
I buy usually when there is a sporting event is about to begin and I am out of bitcoins, for example, the big bash league is about to begin and I might buy before that, if not then I'll buy next year before the Aus Open. But that's all the requirement I have, I buy to gamble, mostly sportsbooks and casinos. And as far as buying for investment purpose is concerned I'll buy when I have enough to buy a few and the price is affordable.
