All the rest of what Peter Schiff says is good and he is warning everyone about the coming USD collapse, the real inflation not showed in official statistics, the fixing of the market by the FED, the dangers of Big Government, the hypocrite non racist organisations that are in fact racist and the never ending QE

Just like so many other salesmen, he is using the facts and plays on people sentiment to build credibility which is then used to sell stuff. It works with normal people because they
are usualy extremists - one is either always right or always wrong. Once normal people - herd - label someone as "such and such" the chance to change their opinion is very slim.

He has been dead right on the DOTCOM bubble and the housing bubble, who else has this prediction record?

What's the volume of bitcoins roughly going to consumer goods vs. the volume from private investment (shorts longs etc.)?

Just curious if his idea that the adoption/usage is what is driving the price downwards. It seems somewhat logical and he is usually pretty good about understanding the underlying reasons for price moves. He's always been good at that. Other than that he, accused one group of being over emotional yet so was his attack. You want to talk about a hypothetical scenario. What he just said was the hypothetical to end all hypothetical scenarios.

Also hypocrisy much? I mean has he not been touting gold, foreign investment, hyperinflation for what 8-10 years now? He hasn't exactly hit a home run with gold over the past 4-5 years. Though, I suspect this will change.

Gold has been going up every single year for more than 10years expect last year! Even this year, Gold is up even with the very bad sentiment on Gold and all the price manipulation from the FED and the Wall Street banks
He is advocating buying Gold since it's 200$/once

If you have lots of money, and want a gambling site built and want to put no trust in someone -- I can build it for you, seriously. I could use the cash, I just quit my job last Friday to focus full time on moneypot.com and had a few people wanted to leave also and work with me -- but I'm not making close to enough to pay anyone else's salary.  To make it work, I'd need ~12k/USD/month with a promise of a minimum of 6 months -- which would buy you two full time devs (with bitcoin experience) and me managing it.

The way I'd do is is make the core gambling part publicly available (where public could be anywhere from open source, to downloadable to something you send to a 3rd party auditor) -- and I'd teach you how to manage the production environment, where you and you alone would have access and set the appropriate variables.

did I understand You right? You need 6 month for coding and 12K USD a month? to be frank that sounds a lot. I have also some different game ideas in mind.

cheers

12k$/month is for 2devs + him

60k$ total for a great job is not that pricey but you can get a good job for less!

685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: September 26, 2014, 12:32:05 PM
When bitcoin hits 10 thousand, bitcoin will be used almost everywhere, so I will use it as regular money, and not convert it to cash. Hopefully even pay my bills with bitcoin.

It is a theory, it could go up to 10,000$ or close without Bitcoin being used everywhere and you may want to diversify your holdings by buying other asset classes if you have most your wealth in Bitcoin
686  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 26, 2014, 12:29:07 PM
Dear Bitcoin,

We've been watching you walk up to the edge and look down like you're about to jump several times already. To be quite honest, we're all getting sick of it. Please make up your mind. Either jump, or come back up from the ledge already.

2014 - The year of the bull trap

2014 is the year of the price consolidation before the next jump, people that sold below 400$ were all the victims of bull traps so far
687  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: September 26, 2014, 12:27:16 PM
Peter Schiff: Talking dollar collapse and looming black hole. (spoiler: he thinks Gold is the answer) (second spoiler: not one mention of bitcoin anywhere)

http://rt.com/shows/sophieco/190800-economy-dollar-financial-armageddon/

Nobody wants to jump on our sinking ship Undecided

You should probably get that myopia checked out, it might be costing you some serious large long term benefits.

Nice lines Roll Eyes Bitcoin is $394 on BTC-e

... quick, you better close out your shorts then.

Nope. $390;)

You'll learn. Shorting a bear market is easy until it isn't. Timing the end of a bear market is difficult. Most traders get burned. You may pick up a few more pennies betting on the demise of bitcoin but don't come whining when the price jumps 10% in 30 minutes like it did earlier this week.

Exactly, it is very dangerous to short Bitcoin if you think it will go up in the medium long term, it is safer to sell a portion of your holdings when you think it is going to go down and buy back when you consider it will recover soon

689  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 when? on: September 25, 2014, 11:58:39 AM
Amazon an friends will drive price down in the mid to mid-long term.

All retail adoption will, as they just sell to cash which is constant selling pressure.

So many coins are still held by EA's that its hard to see this not going on for a while.

However there may come a break point where the companies beging to retain BTC for upstream purchases.

At 10K you have to wonder if you really want to cash out BTC any more to FIAT.

At 100K you probably would not cash out to FIAT

If the price is going up rapidly you are getting excited about your new paper gains and you want to hold but on the other hand you may need fiat in real life and you may want to cash out some of your gains to diversify a little bit in precious metals, something that will increase your humand capital or your children's or stocks
690  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: September 25, 2014, 11:43:32 AM
I'm still holding onto my 0.01 BTC! But seriously, the price will rise (sadly have nothing to invest) and the silly people that dumped at $300 will be crying when they see the extremely high price of btc.

Am holding as well but am looking to buy more; 409$ at the moment on Bitstamp is pretty cheap compared to the upside potential of thousands dollars short term

It may go down to 100 but it may well go to a few thousands in a year
691  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 25, 2014, 11:41:58 AM
...
I live in South East Asia, I live on around $2000 a month. That's in a nice villa, with a nice car, and I eat out at least 2x a day (in western restaurants not local food)

in Europe my lifestyle would eat 90% of my income, over here I save >75% of my income.

In most of US, you wouldn't be able to afford your lifestyle, period.  I lived on $2k a month (NYC) and trust me, there was no talk of "villas" or saving Cheesy

Yeah, I lived in NYC, my friend's gym membership in manhattan was $300 a month.

2k$/month even after tax sets you for a very poor and stressing life in a big rich western city

2k$/month + 2k$/month for your girlfriend all after tax may start paying you a kind of confortable life
692  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: September 25, 2014, 11:33:28 AM
We were not planing to limit amount of users yet. Let's see how it goes for the first week or two.
As for the escrow, we're looking forward to make it as legit as possible so we'd like to hear more about it. Could you please tell us how it's done or what options do we have?
Finally someone got it!!!!!!

Limiting users will likely not bring any traffic, the more users advertise the more exposure and more popularity  you will get like PD did,run campaign for 6 months and your good not 2 months like the other ops couldn't afford to do.

Smart move by pocket Dice

Lol  Roll Eyes. Of course you would say that because getting as much money as you can is beneficial to you. It wont be a smart move when they don't pay anyone or cease the campaign because it's unprofitable.

Right now they are accepting new members, they will pay automatically weekly so the first payment will arrive in only one week and they will get massive exposure and traffic so it will probably be very beneficial for them!

1:17:27 "there's not an exchange where you can borrow bitcoins and go short" the guy doesnt know what the fuck he's talking about

He made a mistake there but his points on not having enough shorts and stop orders being taken advantage of are still correct

On the other hand he is correct on competitors, after getting punched by some governments it could be replaced by a competitors who faces much less restrictions.

But that will not happen since bitcoin developers will kiss governments ass in anyway they can.

Kissing ass of government means more burden to the coin and to the services using it.
Bitcoin was supposed to be friction free money. Now if licences start appearing and hoops to be jumped that means friction.

Bitcoin will still have many qualities even if it is regulated and it will not be regulated from every country..

Read all the posts of this thread and saw that

Step 1 signup with pocketdice.io
step 2 on the top right there is a circle with lines icon, click on that.
step 3 you will see links for different objectives, click the signature link.
step 4 is crucial.  You need to take your bitcointalk ID # you can get this ID number by clicking ur user name in one of your latest posts, if you look at the URL in the end of it, it will show your ID number.  Big0Bang your ID number is 181865.  Input that number in ur bitcointalk ID input page and it should sync with your bitcointalk.
step5 will giv you a sig to input in your profle.
step 6 confirm here that you joined

Maybe you want to write the different steps in the first post of this thread
Performed the actions so it should work, am waiting for my signature; already changed my signature to advertise the site Wink

I just had a couple of issues:

1) when I try to withdraw and the server thinks the hot wallet has insufficient funds, I see a generic "error error" message rather than something explaining why the withdrawal failed

2) if I request a smaller amount and enter the correct 2fa code, I can click 'withdraw' multiple times and get multiple withdrawals, all with the same 2fa code. 2fa codes are meant to be "one-time passwords" meaning they only work once. Allowing multiple withdrawals with the same OTP is dangerous.

Edit:

3) oops - I carried on playing when I couldn't withdraw:

and now:
