681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 03, 2023, 08:46:27 PM
^^ Garcia has been doing that kind of defense though, but he was not as slick as a black boxer. However, when he moves to train under James, it was evident that maybe he teaches him that defense, the Philly shell, but Garcia has a lot to train with that, as he over exaggerate it.

And it's good to see another familiar name there, Shane Mosley Jr., obviously the son of Shane Sr. We all know that Shane Sr is a good boxer as well during his prime, defeated Oscar Dela Hoya and almost knock down Floyd Mayweather.

As for Ryan, he wants a belt at 140 lbs so he is calling Rolly Romero as his next fight. Duarte though trying to get back in this fight, unfortunately he was waived as he got up at the 9 count and still has wobbly legs.
682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: December 03, 2023, 08:26:07 PM
Ryan gets the win by KO. There was nothing too remarkable about his performance but he was able to execute his game plan effectively. Duarte was at a disadvantage because of the 143 lb catchweight. His style was very basic and Ryan had no problems landing shots. After this tuneup it seems like Rolly Romero might be next for Ryan. Both fighters are at a similar level so it should be an intriguing matchup where we will see if either of them is ready to step up to the elite level once again.

Duarte could have gone up but he chose to get up when the count is over, there's a lot of boos going on because Ryan is running to much I think that's the improvement in Ryan's game, a good defensive stance to run too often and not very eager to engage, a deviation from what he did against Gervonta, not a great performance but a win is still a win I guess The Golden Boy will finally get him a title shot after this win.
I'm waiting for the press conference so we'll know where Garcia is heading now after this win, in his interview in the ring he wants Rolly so lets see if he will get Rolly.

I also don't understand why Duarte didn't get up on time, maybe his legs was not still there so he didn't bother to beat the referee's count.

Yeah, many people inside the arena seem to not like the new style of Ryan Garcia, for me he seems afraid on brawl type of fight, had he not connected that left hook, that booing would have continued until the 12th round.

Garcia did the job but for me that wasn't impressive, he was caught with that left hook of Duarte a couple of times, luckily it was not so lethal that he still stood despite all of that.

It seems that Duarte took a dive in this fight, or maybe he was really hit so hard that he felt dizzy and cant' get up. We can see though that his legs was not there once Ryan touches him with those barrage of punches. So we must say that he still has that power, although there's a lot of loopholes on him.

He has the feet already, but ne needs more, still looks very flat footed to me. In any case, still a win for Ryan, so the hype continues for this kid and Golden Boy should get him another good fighter in his next fight to boost his confidence. Yes a Rolly Romero will be a great test for him, and I think he can beat Rolly. He just need to be smart and cover his chin and again uses more feet and movement.
683  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens if bitcoin price hits 6 figures and up? on: December 02, 2023, 11:18:34 AM
Yes the thing is the amount of people who own btc and buy or sell it is very low.  However, if there becomes too many millionaires out there... like with btc going to 7 figures... how would this affect inflation?  How would this affect people who don't own crypto?
<cut>

This question makes some broad assumptions.  The economy is complicated.  Prices going up and down happens for all kinds of reasons - how much money governments print, supply chains getting interrupted, wars... stuff like that.  Just because some new folks strike it rich with Bitcoin doesn't automatically mean your grocery bill doubles next week.  Its not as direct as that and  things can influence inflation sure, but it's complex how it all trickles down.

Bitcoin's been around a while now, and even with the huge price spikes we've seen, there still aren't too many millionaires from people buying and hodling.  Thats because there's a limited amount of bitcoin out there - in order for one person to buy, someone else has to sell.  So even if we see bitcoin hit that $1 million+ price target someday (wild I know!), we still probably won't have like a crazy number of new crypto millionaires.  There will be some, sure, but there's gotta be sellers to match the buyers.  The supply is finite.

And most likely bitcoin holders that were able to buy and hold around < 2017 could really be the real winner. I mean,  they are early adopters and investors and maybe some of them are still investors buy this time and know the secret of it, buy low sell high.

But with the inflation and geo-politics going around, maybe there are still that % who's going to be millionaires in the next bull run. And most likely those services around it, exchanges, gambling platforms and any others could be the one that is going to be benefited again in the next all time high of 6 figures.
684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: December 02, 2023, 09:47:32 AM

You must have heard 1% strategy in trading, the same can be applied in gambling too and believe me, you will feel a lot more comfortable using this 1% of your money in every game.
This also gives you a lot of games to play before you end up on your money as on every bet you will use 1% of your money. In case you lose all bets, you will be playing 100 games because your money is exhausted.

I have heard about the 1% rule before, but for me this seems way to low. It's a good idea to have fixed gambling limits to protect our overall bankroll from going broke. We all need to decide for ourselves how much money we are willing to spend each month on gambling. With only 1% of our monthly income, it's seems quite low to play a lot of games. In your example with 58 USD this would be less than 15 USD, which doesn't seem a lot to gamble multiple nights per week with it. For most games there are minimum betting sizes of 0.5 or 1 USD, which would mean we could lose all our money for the week after a few games. In trading it's the same, 1% might be low enough for us to not feel bad about losing some of it. But we won't be able to accumulate a lot of money with it longterm. In my case I try to save and invest 10%of my money and probably use more around the 5% level for gambling.

And that's why it's not really applicable to most gamblers are it it way to low for us. And it one deposit or even one dice roll or one one sports bet, it could be that we will lose everything. So again, as per my experience, there's should be no fixed amount or percentage.

As long as the money is all good, and that if we lose it, we will not worry the next day. The thing is sometimes that 1% is a big risk for the gamblers. So they continue to bet and if they lost, then that's where the problem will arise for them the next day. So if you can't afford to gamble, then it's simply, stop playing and don't play even 1% of your budget.
685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: December 02, 2023, 09:03:59 AM
Ryan Garcia talking about wanting to become a world champion yet here is another issue with him not making the 140 limit. Luckily this is not a title fight and he is cherry-picking a 135 fighter. Duarte looked bigger than Ryan but let's not get misled that this guy is not used to fighting in this weight. So Duarte might be slower and at the same time not used to getting hit by opponents at this weight. No wonder the odds are nearing x4 already on Duarte. I'm just hoping Duarte can take Ryan's power punches so he can go near and unleash his power punches.

I'm thinking that both of this 2 fighters doesn't have the intention to make that 140 lbs weight limit. I do agree that Duarte is somewhat the bigger fighter based on their physical body as he looks more dense that Ryan Garcia.

I was surprised that the bookmakers put Duarte at 4:1 underdog against Ryan. For sure they know something after the weight-in. So obviously, this is a cherry pick for Ryan just to be comfortable at 140 lbs. But still very interesting how Ryan chin will react. As I think that Duarte will go head hunting from the very first round to really put pressure on Ryan and test if he is ready from those power bombs.

687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 02, 2023, 07:41:24 AM
One month before the fight, here is the official poster,

However, I don't the video promotion though, there's no highlight for Tapales, he was just shown briefly when he steps on the ring after Inoue defeated Fulton.

Top Rank should have done better than this, https://twitter.com/trboxing/status/1729289372305084627

I cannot believe this fight has less than 1 month of waiting! Does anyone have news updates, articles of boxing analysts and promotional videos? Also, are there videos of their training sessions? I reckon Marlon might be training more for stamina and he might have a style that will take him to a decision very much similar to Nonito Donaire hehe. I am a fan of Inoue, however, I want to watch a thrilling fight between these 2 champions. Also if anyone has observed from my posts, I also like underdogs hehehehe.

Unfortunately, not much of a video coming from Tapales camp, in any case, here is one,

https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/11/30/23/boxing-marlon-tapales-on-the-verge-of-making-history

It's from a local tv station from the Philippines. Yeah, for sure, who wouldn't love the underdogs? we've seen great live underdogs in the past and betting on them is a huge risk, but for guys like you, it's going to be worth taking that risk, hehehe.

I am not yet sure if I will bet on Marlon Tapales because Inoue's boxing dominance is clearly only beginning hehe. However, I reckon within 10 years if Inoue still active and a young and hungry fighter moves up in the sport of boxing, this might be the right time to start betting against him. A storyline that will be something similar to Barrera vs. Pacman hehehe.

That's still a long way to go though, 10 years of pure dominance, I don't know if there will be such fighter to do that. Only fighter we have seen is Manny, although he has lost along the way but dominated boxing in different era.

But obviously, it's a cycle, when the great are already in a decline, sooner or later there will be young fighters that are going to move up and beat them. Just like what Manny did to Barrera and so other many great fighters, as if passing the torch to them.
688  Economy / Reputation / Re: Merit spamming [report] on: December 01, 2023, 11:29:29 PM
Good eye, OP but I don't know if you noticed but mods, DT members, and others don't really take any action against merit abusers and haven't for a while now.  Theymos basically doesn't want much tagging for that sort of thing, even though members are still free to do so.

Why oh why did that troll come back?
Probably got bored and came back to troll for some laughs.

Yeah, one reason though is because we have seen the Bitcoin mempool's clogged and users complaining about the fees. Enter this account, claiming to be the fastest and biggest block size and low fees.

And that's why we have the "ignore user options".
689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you make gambling a profession - a full time job on: December 01, 2023, 09:24:14 PM
Of course you can make it a profession, or a full time job, but the question is, can you make money out of gambling?

Case in point is those professional poker player, we've seen thousands of them. But not everyone can be in the top 5 or top 10 in every tournament and land some money a long the way. And even if you study it, there will be competitions around you.

I hear story when I was a little that someone in our neighborhood is making money out of cock fighting and send his 3 kids to college, but I'm not sure if that is true or not though.
690  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The fate of mixers. on: November 30, 2023, 03:20:57 AM
There is an endless discussion that involes freedom of speech and freedom of privacy. Mixers are good but can be used by criminals and North Korean hackers. Is "bad people use it" enough to prevent actual privacy seekers? I for one would like for mixers to continue to exist, and in a utopian way, only be used by good people.
Seems like Lazarus group is a root cause of all mixer seizures recent years. Seems like Lazarus group is a favorite target of many governments and authorities so that if any mixer is used by Lazarus group, it will be automatically put in a black list of governments, authorities and will be in list of seizure attempts from governments.

The quote is interesting but it is true. Recent weeks, there is a lawsuit about Tornado Cash. A source code, a service is considered as a criminal tool but is it true by laws.

They have been the bane of all crypto world in my opinion, they have been in offensive, exchanges, gambling platform and anything that they can get their hands as we all know that this is state sponsored hacking group.

So yeah, it will be a endless debate here, some of us who uses mixers just want to be private, while there are groups that can take advantage of mixers. However, we've seen the ups and downs, when one mixers was seized, it open up a huge opportunity for other mixers to come into the picture and take a slice on that big pie.
691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ransomware Cyber Pirates strike again and rakes in more crypto! on: November 30, 2023, 02:24:17 AM
I don't even need to drop a source you can read it all over the internet and see it all over the news, Shimano got hacked earlier this week, MGM casiono/hotel group reccently, Boeing, so many others. Ransomware groups are very intruiging to me because they operate just like any normal business; they even have a telephone line and an email for support on paying them their ransome to decrypt your company's data. These groups ought to think they are so savvy, until the US sanctions office comes and knocks on their door! Which is honestly sort of unlikely to happen at this point as these ransomware groups are sheer experts with computing and seeking out vulernable corporate networks to pillage and muck up. The average ransom paid out varies but can range from a couple thousand dollars to millions of dollars. Its even more so interesting to me because since these attacks are so commonplace now, insurance companies and regulators are all making sufficient cyber security solutions a requirement such as having an EDR solution that meets regulations in place in order to get coverage, and operate their business legally. Oftentimes Incident Response or IR companies are hired to help them negotiate w/ the cyber pirates and pay them a ransom in BTC. Hackers surely have quite the attack surface these days, just make sure your coins and crypto are secure!

Or at least make that one mistake when they try to mix coins using centralized platform. And then you have to think as to why the hell this supposedly hackers, a group of them making that one biggest mistakes that can take them down.

In any case, yes, everyone is vulnerable, there's even government attacks as well from them and then demanding ransom as if they are above the law. But with regards to the world that we live in, we really can't stress that enough. We need to educate ourselves on safe practices here, online and offline so that we will not be another statistics to the growing crypto enthusiast who lost it to this criminals.
692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: November 30, 2023, 02:08:53 AM
~
But the odds shows that Garcia is the favorite, Duarte is a long shot, a huge 4:1 underdog in this fight. So I don't see this going into full 12 rounds, and it could end in a knockout win by Ryan Garcia. Even the over and under, it's listed at 8.5 rounds.
Ryan Garcia is the favorite but he is coming back to this fight against Oscar Duarte after an upset loss in the last fight and the import thing is that Ryan Garcia has changed his fight camp completely after the loss and now he is with the new trainer and he was complaining about his weight cut, so it is interesting to see how he returns after the loss with a new head coach.

This will be a good one to bet if you happen to believe on Duarte's boxing skills.
Your money can easily be multiplied if upset will happen on this match.
Also, we will see if there will be improvement on Garcia's side. Is he ready to face elite boxers?

Duarte is far from being elite, this is just a test for him. GBP pick a good fighter for Ryan. Sort of more to build his confidence back. We can only see improvements on Ryan if let's say a Teo Lopez fight or any of the top 5 boxers in this division.

Duarte on the other hand, has very good record as well. So Garcia's camp should have not taken this fight lightly.
Duarte is only 27 years old with 26-1-1 record. So not bad at all, he has the capacity to upset Garcia in my opinion.

And that is somewhat what most of the fans see, a good record, high percentage of knockout. But has he face a fighter with Ryan Garcia's caliber before? And in addition, this is Oscar's first time to go to 140 lbs, so maybe there will be questions if he can bring his power to the new weight class.
693  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has anybody expected this? on: November 29, 2023, 05:00:30 AM
This is the last week of November and yet nothing positive has happened, I still don't understand what's keeping Bitcoin price at $37k for long now without trying to stay at $38k for a while. Is it that we only get to see how poor the market price has been for over two weeks now and we haven't seen $38k come to play and stay for only two days or 24 hours.
Are we really missing out on something or should we be expecting a very fast movement before we find ourselves in the month of December? Because I'm expecting to see a change in the market price, a positive change, like having to see $40k by the end of this month.

I think we can still go and reach $38,000. I have the feeling that the bulls are going to push for it at least at the end of the month so that the sentiments will still be positive going into the last month. And we really didn't expect this, obviously in the early months of this year we look for a good movement. But I didn't see it coming to at least make 100% or more from the last lowest low.

And it just shows that the market is still has a lot of surprises for us. Maybe at the end of the December, we could see $50,000? That is a big jump, but then again, market is volatile and sentiments are still positive so who knows, maybe that will be the year ender surprises from all of us.
694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: David Benavidez Vs Demetrius Andrade Interim WBC Super Middleweight title fight on: November 29, 2023, 03:53:26 AM

We can only judge a boxer from their last fight and it seems that Canelo still have the pop in his punches against Charlo and that he won that fight, let's put it that way. But maybe if he will fight a legit 168 lbs, like David Benavidez, not like a Charlo who hasn't been in this division, although he can make weight, but still he hasn't fight in this weight class and he is a super welterweight unified champion.

So that is a big discrepancy already. So we will see him being tested if he is prime not against a young fighter, who is very hungry, wanted to proved that he will be the next king of the MW division and that is Benavidez. We can also hope that Canelo wanted to fight him next, Mexican vs Mexican brawl.

I read one article in my feed I'm trying to find that article so I can post it here but Benavidez is not on Canelo's list, his options are Munguia Crawford, Spence, and the other Charlo he just feels that Benavidez is not yet qualified to be on his list even though the boxing community and the Benavidez camp is demanding it, unless there's a big push for the fight to happen, Canelo will again cherry pick opponents and Benavidez will be looking for another fight to prove that he is the new king.

That's a questionable hit list for Canelo, and obviously this two, Crawford and Spence are 147 lbs, so just like Charlo he needs to go up 3 weight class, this is not what we expect from Canelo, but obviously good money fights. Munguia? Not another name fighter, so why he will give him that chance? Jermall his original target just won against a blown up 154 lbs in Benavidez Jr. It this is what Canelo wanted then it will be a big question on his legacy.

And fans are not going to agree with his choices here, we are clamoring him to give Benavidez a chance. And if he doesn't want to, then he is afraid of the young DB, in my opinion.
695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: November 29, 2023, 02:53:30 AM
One month before the fight, here is the official poster,

Top Rank should have done better than this, https://twitter.com/trboxing/status/1729289372305084627

It looks like the one who created those highlights is biased, are they promoting Inoue too much?  .  That video doesn't look like the participants' match highlights but rather a promotional video for Inoue making an assumption that Inoue will win the upcoming fight.

It did come from the promotional company of Inoue, which is Bob Arum's Top Rank, and maybe they are obviously the one handling the marketing so they will have to put more emphasis on their boxer and not Tapales.

Anyway I am still curious about the preparation of Tapales for this fight, I really like to see Tapales have an upset win on this but still, I know that is very slim considering how very skilled and all-rounded fighter Inoue is.

Last time we discussed, Tapales has been training everywhere, and back in the Philippines and sparring heavy Filipino hitters like Mark Magsayo and other super bantamweight fighters. And with that, he is 101% on training focus on this fight, really going full because this is his biggest fight of his career and he is facing the Monster. Nevertheless, we shouldn't discount that he still might have a very little chance, but he had done it before, upsetting champion and being the underdog.
696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Request to learn gambling on: November 29, 2023, 02:31:23 AM
Well, this is another serious matter, and I had to discourage her.

It's about an old female friend who posted me just about two days ago; her request was for me to teach her how to gamble at any easy casino that she will understand so quickly and make money. Her motive for making this kind of request is because she wants a second source that she can use to earn extra income. I explained what gambling truly is, and I discouraged her from learning how to gamble.

Now, there's a simple question that I want to ask: do you guys think I should introduce her to gambling? If yes, what's the easiest game she can stake in and also enjoy while gambling?

Well you can just explain the basics to here, but remind here of the bad effects of gambling. On the other hand, you can tell her that it is not good as she will be addicted and explain everything, as if you want to discourage her and see the reaction.

And her reason is very bad in the beginning, gambling is not a second source of income, will not be for any gambler here. We play most of the times to be entertain and have fun. Maybe we win some games and lose some, but to look for it as a like a second job, we have discussed it many times already here.
697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: November 28, 2023, 01:19:42 PM
Haney, for me, is never really an exciting fighter compared to Davis who can deliver KOs all the time but he is a technical yet also boring fighter but definitely great with his footwork. He the kind of boxer who punches his opponent for the reason of just stopping their aggression in the ring and he is happy to see his points go up.

Since Regis is also a great boxer, the result will probably be the same as how Haney ended half of his fights which is by Decision.

After watching Shakur Stevenson's performance earlier this month I am glad those two are not facing each other. We were spared from what surely would have been a boring chess match. Both, Shakur and Haney, act like tough guys on social media but they turn into pussy cats when they are inside the ring. Over the weekend we saw that technical fighters like Demetrius Andrade can be beaten with aggression. It can be frustrating for an opponent when they are missing punches but it is necessary to remain calm and continue applying pressure.

And there will be boos from the fans after that snoozer fight, both defensive fighter, each one of them doesn't want to engage. Just surprised though has Shakur did against Edwin De Los Santos in their fight. Not sure what he is, maybe he felt the power and so he just decided to go on a bicycle.

Regis though doesn't believed that Haney is what we call defensive fighter. So that's good though, both of them are trying to negate each other's strength so hopefully it will not be a chess match as Regis look for that knockout.
698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alleged Hacking Incident Tied to Bitcoin’s Massive 83.65 Bitcoin Fee Error on: November 28, 2023, 11:56:44 AM
When you consider what hackers can do to steal whatever they stole, it merely makes me assume that 139 bitcoins should have been transferred, but what went to the hacker's address was roughly 55.77 bitcoins, and the remainder went to transaction fees. Those miners are quite fortunate.

Is it feasible to retrieve the 83.65 bitcoins that went to the transaction fee? This case, as far as I know, is still being investigated. Because it is still unclear whether this is a hacking event or a money-laundering conspiracy.
https://en.coin-turk.com/bitcoin-user-claims-3-1-million-fee-was-a-hack-not-an-error/

There's no mistakes about why the fees are very high, the hackers knows that he needs to get it confirmed in a hurry and put it in a wallet that he has control before anyone understands what happen and he could have mixed it already.

So not sure if the miners are going to return it back or if they are involved in the hacking that's why the hackers incentives them with that huge fees.

At the end of the end, everyone should take lessons from the incident and really learn how to protect that kind of huge amount of BTC.
699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: David Benavidez Vs Demetrius Andrade Interim WBC Super Middleweight title fight on: November 28, 2023, 10:16:59 AM
^^ Yes mate, and I do agree with what Porter says, his analysis is spot on and I think majority of the members here see that one. It's the youth of DB that really give problems to Canelo. And then you have to think about the power and the stamina being young to be able to go toe to toe with a not so prime Canelo at this point.

When Canelo moved up, Dmitrii Bivol was the champion, making it challenging to expect the same domination as in his previous division. I believe Canelo might not make a similar decision again and will likely stay in the current division, facing opponents like David Benavidez, who has showcased power and secured impressive wins against Demetrius Andrade.

Not sure what you meant, but Canelo and DB are in the same division. So if we go by your argument that Canelo will not go to 175 lbs, then the logical fighter he needs to face is DB. However, Benavidez Sr, says that if Canelo doesn't want to fight then his son might to up to face the 175 lbs in Bivol and Beterbiev.

However, if you're suggesting that Canelo is already out of his prime, or 'not so prime' as you stated, I disagree. I believe he is still in his prime. While his loss in the new division was acceptable given the circumstances, if he remains in a division where he is comfortable, we need to observe further before concluding that he is 'not so prime' anymore.

I say that he is no longer or maybe not so prime is the opponents that he has face, against a unknown John Ryder and fighting in his native Mexico, his performance is not that good as many other boxing pundits have noticed.

And his next fight against a blown up Charlo, who went 2 divisions up, so obviously Canelo win that one in a dominant fashion.

However, against a young DB in his prime? We will see if Canelo still has it.

To be honest, I haven't heard this crypto casinos, so for me this is already a red flag. But unfortunately, the user found to be reputable and trusted and so he plays and win big. But then again, it's another sign that if you win big and have problems withdrawing and asking for KYC and took time to be approved, then it's obvious to be scam.
