701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We finally are going to get justice in regards to Mr. Wright on: June 26, 2020, 02:41:57 AM
while all you lot cry and squabble over the stupidity of CSW
your not seeing that its IRA that is also playing CSW game. they are frenemies

IRA wants a default judgement that the claims of CSW/dave being satoshi and creating bitcoin and having 820k coins are all true even without evidence.
or it to go to trial for a jury to judge that dave/CSW were behind bitcoin
win win for csw

oh and when two people are playing a friendly game with money involved but want to hide their private wager /pay off for service.. the one side wanting to get paid for playing will just make requests to the referee to demand foul sanctions in the form of payment from the other side

and suddenly the money to cover IRA's costs is legalised

..
reality is in a patent troll case that uses similar tactics.. yep its a real thing.
the troll would pay out his friend who's faking opposition.. but to hide it. they try to put it out in the open as a different reason for payment. EG 'court ordered sanctions'

now IRA can get paid from CSW without revealing the game/bribe

IRA's team has never been on the stance that CSW is a pennyless scammer that never had anything to do with bitcoin
IRA is teamCSW but playing frenemy

Wait, where did you get that source man? I mean, if they are really trying to make this a facade to fool the judge and the entire community, wouldn't it be dangerous? because if Ira tried to back down, then Craig would win the court and would also win the rights for Bitcoin? This is pretty messed up if this is actually true.
702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the difference between eth 1.0 and 2.0 on: June 25, 2020, 02:20:49 PM
If I remember correctly, it will solve scalability and security. You won't have to do anything in your ETH and you can use it just as you are using it right now.
I actually found a website that will answer most of the questions. I don't know much about ETH so you can probably read more here https://consensys.net/knowledge-base/ethereum-2/faq/ (Read with care)
703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PAYPAL RUMOR on: June 25, 2020, 02:07:28 PM
We already have a topic for this, here: Topic: 325 million new potential users https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5257445.0

Yeah, and there's more coming from other users lol.

The idea of paypal is only to adapt to the market. Since some months ago revolut and hype have already implemented the possibility of buying BTC and keeping them in their wallets. I think he's a wallet costodian like revolut's wallet, so you can only buy them, sell them, possibly spend them but not move them.

I think that's what's paypal planning to do, to be a third-party wallet application for Bitcoin users. To be honest, I only see one advantage and a lot of disadvantages. The advantage is that they might make an on-chain wallet which would make transactions fee free or at least cheaper from wallet to wallet (paypal users only) but the disadvantages are it's just a normal paypal wallet, they can do whatever they want if they found some slight issues in it. They can ban you or prohibit you from their services, heck they might even prevent you from moving your own money if they think that it's "Dirty" money. You don't control your own Bitcoin.

I don't know much though because this are just "rumors". We can only speculate.
704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should there be some kind of Ethics Counsel for Altcoins? on: June 25, 2020, 04:54:35 AM
There is a new coin that just called itself Compound Coin but as probably many of you know, there has been an active coin named Compound Coin for five or more years.  They both have the same symbol.

The old Compound coin has an active community.

What can we do about people just coming in and stealing coin's intellectual property?

Websites have a system, I think we need a system, at least with heavyweights like Charlie Lee, etc. and various bloggers picketing the new thieving coin.
Don't worry probably the new coin with the same name will be disappeared once their ICO finished because they can't list their project on reputed exchange and even CMC won't since they have same name and symbol so the new project was created just to make some money.

Agreed. They will be forced to change their name if it's just a coincidence that they have a similar name. But if the owner of the new coin doesn't, then it's pretty clear that they are here to scam people by using an older projects name because no one would accept them and they can't be listed on anything except shady exchanges too.

They also can't register it in trade mark because they'll have to give out their identity completely which I think they wouldn't do considering that they looks like they are trying to scam people.
705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can a corrupt team cook a blockchain? on: June 25, 2020, 04:47:38 AM
Pretty shady I'd say. How long has this coin been having this issue? Because if they can't fixed something like this, how can they keep their project running and keep people using it. To be honest, I'd just stay away from that coin since you are already smelling something fishy and developers who can't fix a small problem like this can't manage to do something big in the future anyway.

706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum (ETH) Price on Course to $300 on: June 24, 2020, 02:29:24 PM
Its possible to happen by next month we are almost in 250$ price of eth as of today . If they break 250 price before the end of the month  then 300$ will be the next target that possibly  happen next month , we just need to wait and see .

I don't see that happening next month since ETH has been staying less than $250 this past 2 months and if you look at the price history, they just followed Bitcoins movement. Unless Bitcoin were to pump next month, then we'll still be seeing below $300 in the future. Ethereum 2.0 is still faraway which is very anticipated by a lot of people which might be the way to $300.
707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Couple was forcibly ask by IRS to sell their crypto to pay their liabilities on: June 24, 2020, 02:22:47 PM
Cryptocurrency is already under the scanner of government agencies. They have associated it with everything which is illegal.

After reading the story of this couple I am in the conclusion that they are wrong on their part. I have no doubt about it. They should immediately do something to repay their tax.

If they need to sell their crypto assets then they should otherwise, the tax agency would suggest the government that cryptocurrency is a new illegal way for them to abet tax.

It does sound silly but, it will happen for sure.

They should do that and they should've done that in the first place because if I'm not mistaken, authorities know that they have a huge cryptocurrency asset which got revealed when it got reviewed again.

They are probably waiting for the price to pump but they probably predicted it incorrectly to the point that the due date to pay their liability came. I don't know how big this would get but it's still trouble for them.
708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's name and Logo Registered in Spain. on: June 24, 2020, 02:41:08 AM
Quote
Also, Spain won't be the first country where Bitcoin is a registered trademark, but nothing big came out of it - no one tried to claim ownership of Bitcoin's protocol or software,
Because no single entity 'owns' or can 'own' the BTC protocol or code. Both are Open Source and were developed as a collaboration between many different people.

But can a single entity own the name of that protocol or that entire project? Or its logo?

I have no idea on the bases by which trademark registration applications are granted but this particular decision appears questionable to me.

There was a similar post posted yesterday pertaining to this event but I think what he only owns is the logo and the name of Bitcoin in Spain. If someone tried to use it, then he could use his power to get profit out of it. He can't control the entire project as like said in the above post, it's an open source and anyone can use it.

And we also have this one: https://trademarks.ipo.gov.uk/ipo-tmcase/page/Results/1/UK00003279106 and https://trademarks.justia.com/861/35/bitcoin-86135516.html.

But in Russia, it was denied, http://www.rapsinews.ru/arbitration/20160321/275664290.html.

And we all know that Bitcoin's BTC logo can't be patented, if it is, then we might as well patented, Dollar or Yen.

This man in Spain probably got away as their law probably doesn't see Bitcoin as a currency but as a piece of technology. I'm not sure though.
709  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Earning From Digital Ads Will Be Taxed (e.g., Signature Campaign) on: June 24, 2020, 02:27:37 AM
I don't think they can tax all those participants of Signature campaign since this is a decentralized market and its hard for BIR to collect our datas (matrabaho ito).

Unless you use other payment method na hindi kayang I-trace. Kasi I think na kasama ang signature campaign as an online job kasi kumikita tayo ng totoong pera na ginagastos natin sa bansa as stated by the law na any income coming from the internet.

300 pesos a month ang kita itatax pa, diba?

710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Look before taking a leap on: June 23, 2020, 01:46:04 PM
You are responsible for your decisions, make sure you do good research before choosing projects, don't give money to developers that have nothing to offer than repetitive projects, they are 90% scams, it's better not to invest on new projects and go with old projects
Yes, but old projects also need to be carefully examined, because not all old projects are good for investment, so I am more amenable to choosing old projects that are already popular, because projects that are already popular are clearly interested and the daily trading volume is also very Lots.

That is true. Not all old projects are promising. Just look at deeponion. They were one of the most hyped coin in 2017 because of its unique airdrop system and community. Although they are pretty old now and pretty famous back then, now they are pretty silent compared to the years before.

I'd say those are in the top 100 projects base on top sites like CMC and coingecko are probably the safest to invest to when you are into profit. New projects is just too risky and just like you said OP, they are all the same with no new ideas.
711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possibleTrump Will Prohibit Bitcoin? on: June 23, 2020, 12:42:03 PM
He could prohibit,  but he cant prevent people from making transactions.

Additionally,  I doubt governments can win a battle against technology advances. It is better to work with new techs, which will.increase governments revenue and create new jobs.

That's what I thought. Considering that Trump was a business man before his presidency, then it's likely that he will use Bitcoin in order to prosper their technological advancement which might help America financially. To be honest, I've never seen his public post a serious one.

I think what he hates is the fact that there's a lot of fraud and scams happening in the cryptocurrency space and that is the reason why he is someone who dislike Bitcoin. He might just tighten regulations but I doubt that he will completely ban Bitcoin or cryptocurrency.
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum 2.0 and its impact? on: June 23, 2020, 05:18:26 AM
I'm not really hype for Ethereum 2.0 because it will not solve it's centralization. It'll probably just stay like it is while still attached to Bitcoin waiting for Bitcoin to pump before ETH pump. POS has been a thing since 2017 and it's really not much of a new thing. Also, there's a minimum amount to stake ETH and not everyone can afford that.

Seeing yesterday the hype that occurred due to eth 2.0 will be launched in July even though it is a hoax and could make the price of ETH rise quite high, I think if ETH 2.0 was really launched the price of ETH would be 2x fold from now.

I doubt it, really. Unless Bitcoin is to pump while Ethereum hype is still on, then we could see ETH price going up too.
713  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Binance Donate 3.5million worth of medical supplies to Philippine Hospitals. on: June 23, 2020, 05:07:19 AM
This is probably one of the best activity in the history of cryptocurrency dito sa Pilipinas.

Thank you Binance. Grin
714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Name and Logo has registered with Spanish Patent and Trademark Office on: June 23, 2020, 04:55:39 AM
Surely not a clever one for me.

Very clever I'd say. It's basically saying that he doesn't really care about the principle of Bitcoin and what he only cares about is the profit that he is getting by using Bitcon's name and logo. He will have control over there if someone tried to use Bitcoin's name or logo for businesses purposes. Though he might make profit out of this, he'll become an enemy of the community if he tried something unjust.
715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another bitcoin scams hit Canada on: June 22, 2020, 01:20:13 PM
I don't get it. According to the article, they are getting scammed because they are buying on the phone? How can people fall for that when they don't know who they are dealing with and especially on the phone where there's not much information you can take? Are those residents that stupid? or there's a catch to that? How can people just fall for that Bitcoin machine?
716  Economy / Services / Re: Sig Campaign for Old, Inactive Accounts - Win Up to $5 Million for ZERO Posts! on: June 22, 2020, 03:43:21 AM
The title is very attempting but it's not a guaranty that you can win that because it's a lottery game, your chances is limit in getting that amount than participating in bounty campaign in ICO, let's see if anyone here will be interested to join and how you will guaranty that people will get the pot if you do win the jackpot, as we do not know who you as most of us are anonymous here.

This is most likely a joke made by OP because how can people trace him if he somehow won? Just look at the signature. To be honest, I burst laughing seeing how funny that signature is and how people are serious about this. I can't believe even Sr. Member is joining this.
717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does this Pandemic intensifies the usage of Bitcoin? on: June 22, 2020, 03:20:27 AM
Little to no effect in my opinion. If there is, most likely not a significant effect. While the pandemic sure pushed us faster towards a cashless society, let's not forget that we already have platforms such as PayPal/Venmo/Cash App/mobile banking/whatever-your-country's-alternative-is/etc to solve this.

People(at least the huge majority) wouldn't necessarily move to bitcoin just because they want to be cashless due to the availability of the above services with FAR better user experience.

I totally agree with this. I think what the pandemic increased in Bitcoin is the users activity in the cryptocurrency rather than an actual usage as a way to pay goods. There might be people who are using Bitcoin as goods but I think from my own experience, it's because of the services that the third party wallet is providing to us users which only few use. I use Bitcoin to buy something I want using a third-party wallet by the way.
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HAS THE 2020 BITCOIN HALVING LIVED UP TO ITS EXPECTATION? on: June 21, 2020, 05:06:53 AM
To be honest, it's as expected. The Corona virus might have a negative effect but the real bull run will start further ahead of halving just the what happened in the last halving and the halving before that. We are currently stable at the price of $9,000+ which is almost half of the all-time high. We are expected to gain more heights in in a few months or year as there's currently a new development ongoing that will help with the scaling.
719  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Nasubukan niyo na bang mag Stock Trading? on: June 21, 2020, 03:25:03 AM

720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it just me or has the entry bar become a lot higher? on: June 21, 2020, 02:49:03 AM
I noticed that your last post was January 29, 2016 which is a long time ago. Just above that (2017-2018) is the largest pump that Bitcoin had which you probably missed and the boom of ICO and a lot of projects which a lot of have turned out to be scam. Because of that, authorities have become aware of cryptocurrency and have made a lot of regulations and rules to control illegal activities within cryptocurrency.

Is it just me, or are people really ready to give out their identity just to buy some Bitcoins on an online exchange?

A lot of people, especially investors who are into the profit, doesn't really care much about their personal information getting presented to some exchanges because it is easier to exchange cryptocurrency in centralized exchanges than decentralized one which doesn't need any personal information.

But there's still a lot of exchanges that doesn't require KYC to withdraw but limited features and requires KYC for a larger activity.
