721  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: January 18, 2016, 07:34:06 PM
Gold is boring, stagnant, old, weights too much, smells like hell, it's just a piece of shinny metal that girls and rappers like.
Bitcoin is smart, clean, can adapt, exciting, and looks towards the future.
722  Economy / Economics / Re: How to make 17 BTC out of 7 BTC ? on: January 18, 2016, 07:24:42 PM
Of course, beside the generic advices that would be like gambling and so on, I offer you to do something: Put it ALL on Maidsafe or Litecoin, and wait for a pump. Why those coins? MAID is an excellent project, very undervalued, and will someday pump real heavy, I have no idea how much or when, but it will. Why Litecoin? well, this thing always gets pumped out of the dead somehow, sooner or later.

But it's your money, so im not responsible if you lose it.
723  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitshire Hashaway Live and Well!! on: January 18, 2016, 07:23:11 PM
Im also a Warren Buffet, guy is a beast in long term holding, but he is totally clueless when it comes to technology, that's why he doesn't understand Bitcoin and doesn't hold any, he will go down in history as a great investor, except his Bitcoin mistake by not owning any.

Anyway, good luck in your investments.
724  Other / Meta / Re: help me to give trust on: January 18, 2016, 07:20:25 PM
I think you need to risk some bitcoin as collateral in order to get the nice green trust, or get trust from default trust members. I still dont know how it works fully, but I hate when some troll sends me negative trust cause he doesn't agree with my views Sad
725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you be happy if Bitcoin remained as it is now? on: January 18, 2016, 07:18:20 PM
It is true that you can buy some things with bitcoin in some stores and all. But mainly Bitcoin has come to be an investment/stock, similar to gold some say. I am quite happy with the possibility of earning it in the internet by simple means (banners, faucets, posting, doing small tasks and works) internationally and without so much government control, and also about speculating with it. I would love it would become a widely used currency and be able to pay everywhere with it... But would not be angry if it remained as it is now (used by some, with the ability to be transferred and earned through internet).

What do you think?

I would like it to be accepted worldwide, so I can spend it anywhere anytime, but not if the nodes become centralized, because well we have fiat already for that ...

We can achieve worldwide acceptance thanks to Lightning Network, while keeping it safe from goverment intervention and so on.
726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am here to guide all of you. on: January 18, 2016, 07:14:23 PM
At which point we start truncating the blockchain? 60 gig download is crazy. Max should be 4Gb
Pruning is "on the schedule" but not critical since 60 GB is not a burden to the current miners and full nodes.  It would be a burden to "everyone"  in the plan being discussed here.

Pruning does not help with the current UTXO memory load for all miners and full nodes.

Pruning does not help with bandwidth requirements [except for new node downloads].

Isn't prunning being available in the next version coming soon? (0.12). I heard that it will allow for 1GB blockchains and we will be able to do everything the same as we do now with full, so its pretty cool for modest hardware nodes.
727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is satoshi POLL on: January 18, 2016, 07:13:03 PM
I don't feel satoshi is Gavin after the XT crap, we will never know if it was Hal so that leads me to vote fo Nick. But I agree with most here, I see it being someone(s) else.
This, it's obvious Gavin is not satoshi. Nick is still my favorite guy to be satoshi, guy is just a genius, and didn't care about cameras until recently.
Even if Gavin WAS satoshi, he would be wrong about his own creation after the BIP101 nonsense.
728  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mike Hearn exits, sign of big price jump? on: January 17, 2016, 03:40:04 AM
He and his bankster friends sold, once people realize this was a scam and once people realize Classic is XT 2.0, we will start going up as Core rises triumphant with the up and coming 0.12 update.
729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lies, FUD, and hyperbole on: January 17, 2016, 02:59:45 AM
Classic is just their next move. 20mb was too much, then they tried 8, now 2.. they all want big blocks at the end, and take nodes away from people.
730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ToominCoin aka "Bitcoin_Classic" #R3KT on: January 17, 2016, 02:08:47 AM
I've been following the discussion on reddit, and I see erik voorhes all over the place pointing out how segwit is "too complex" compared to a 2mb hard fork. It seems he's just trying to find excuses to hard fork:

731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I feel pity for Mike Hearn on: January 17, 2016, 02:00:20 AM
Why would you feel pitty for a sellout? He isn't dumb, he knows what he's doing. He is butthurt at the fact his XT altcoin didn't made the cut and left, all of his words sound like a bitter man and his FUD NYC article was the nail in the coffin.
732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POLL: How will member keepdoing be remembered? on: January 17, 2016, 01:58:31 AM
There are 2 possibilities with people like this:

1) He is uninformed, and legitimately thinks Bitcoin Classiccoin is betterment of Bitcoin.
2) He is a paid shill.

I think this level of dedication in his shitposting efforts point to option 2.
733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mike Hearn is wrong. Bitcoin isn't dead on: January 17, 2016, 01:57:02 AM
Mike Hearn is R3CEV's bitch now, he has sold his soul to the devil, now he has to keep pushing their agenda for life, since he will never be accepted within the Bitcoin community ever again.

Their next effort is going to be Bitcoin Classic, we already have paid shills flooding this forum with this crap to get gullible newbies impressed.
734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POLL: How will Blockstream/Core Be Remembered? on: January 17, 2016, 01:54:23 AM
Your poll is based upon the delusional false premise of Classiccoin fork being a success. Also it implies that Bitcoin will ever scale to global levels without Lightning Network which is impossible (without datacenters as nodes which is the death of Bitcoin). You need a lot of reading to do before you want to play.
735  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2016 Bitcoin Predictions on: January 14, 2016, 12:07:04 PM

I don't see it going to $700 but the price may stick to 430-460 for a long time. it hasn't move to 480 since last year.
Maybe we can see its rise during halving, probably on June-July or maybe even till the end of the year.

We will we be way beyond $700 by june-august or at least near that price when the halving approaches, $700 is too low. Of course you never know with Bitcoin, but the logical thing is a way higher price.
736  Other / Archival / Re: should i save btc for future? on: January 14, 2016, 11:59:24 AM
As of today there is not a single other asset that isn't as good as BTC to consider for the long term (long term for me is only 10+ years, everything else is not worth calling a long term investment).
737  Economy / Speculation / Re: Falling under 300 again on: January 14, 2016, 11:53:26 AM
It's always good to remind noobs how much a running joke user kwukduck is, which is know to FUD for ages until he is eventually right, even tho to be right he has been wrong 1000 times.
738  Economy / Digital goods / Re: im sell fulmember on: January 14, 2016, 11:31:32 AM
Do you want to sell your account ? 0.1doge? 0.1btc?
I think this price is quite high.
I don't think that 0.1BTC is mutch for full member account, you could get ROI quite easily.
Yeah, it's actually cheap, considering it takes about 5 months to reach Full Member, and you could join the campaign im at already, which pays pretty low but the point is you could reach 0.1 BTC way faster than 5 months.
739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people use so many Bitcoin wallets? on: January 14, 2016, 11:29:53 AM
Hmm,  I've not noticed.  I will need to wait for some other people to chime in.  Both my wallets do everything I think I could need them to do.

I know right. I only use 2 as well. 1 on my PC and one on my phone, just like you. Thats all I need and I don't see why other people need more than that.

I don't see it that strange to be frank, just think about it:

High mobility/low security: Phone
Accessibility/medium security: Computer wallet
Low accesibility/high security: An encrypted paperwallet

Some people have those 3 options

And some just get a hardware wallet to have high mobility + high security, but I would argue if being able to take your main stack with you is actually secure.. because you can lose it anywhere. In this sense I don't see this as secure, and I would leave the device always at home.
740  Other / Meta / Re: Random untrusted negative trust by some guy because I didn't agree with his view on: January 14, 2016, 11:16:46 AM
He didn't gave it to me, so he shouldn't see my profile as red... it should show just normally as 0/0 (neutral). I never realized the trust system was broken until this happened to me. I didn't even knew that guy gave me that untrusted neg trust until this guy told me I cant join because of that, no one else has cared about that before..

Have you considered maybe it's not the trust system that is "broken", but instead the guy that told you that you can't join his sig campaign because of some troll?  Try contacting the advertiser himself and mention his agent is doing a piss poor job.

The trust system is working as intended.  No wise person should look at your trust and view a single negative untrusted feedback from some troll with a -8 rating as bad.

You are right, but unfortunately stuff like this apparently happens. I have tried to be reasonable with the campaign manager (see thread) about this but he wouldn't give up on his decision not to accept me, even tho my posts are better than some of the guys already accepted, which cannot properly speak english (no disrespect to them and I also think people without good english deserve a spot to make some extra money in this fucked up economy) but you get the point... there's no real reason not to accept me, but apparently 1 untrusted neg feedback from a troll is enough to discard my proposal.

In order for this to not happen again I would make it mandatory that campaign managers can't use untrusted neg feedback to decide if they accept you or not (just as another rule of the forum) specially coming from red trolls. Otherwise, even if in principle the system is not broken, what happened to me feels as if the system doesn't work. Sure, I can just go to another campaign, but I would still do something about it to avoid situations like this from happening.
