721  Economy / Gambling / Re: Restricted on casino bonuses on: October 01, 2023, 11:05:34 PM
~
Sharing this experience to be an eye opener that we can't have a consistent profit on a casino without being restricted. Just enjoy the game and don't focus much on profit. In the end, I decided to just focus on trading and rest on gambling.
Maybe it was part of their terms or something? Like after a certain limit you just can't receive any bonuses anymore, and since you were pretty lucky, you were hit pretty early as well lmao. Casinos (and any marketing strategy really) often has those restrictions in a fine print at obscure areas so it's really hard to determine whether said restrictions exist in the first place most of the time so hey who knows, it may just be a natural thing though.

Still a great feeling since this might just be the few times a casino has to manually inform a player they hit their limit with bonuses though lmao.
722  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you do in this situation? Invest or save? on: October 01, 2023, 09:39:40 PM
If you have plans to start a dream business that requires a capital of  $20,000 and you were able to make a savings of $15,000 which obviously isn't enough to start up the business, what would be your decision or advice?

1. Invest the $15,000 into a smaller business hoping that the returns will yield the remaining $15,000 in a short period. Note that this has the potential of failing and wasting the already-saved  $15,000.

2. Keep the $15,000 while doing other work that will yield the remaining money over a long period.

Would love to see your input or a better suggestion apart from the ones I pointed out above.

N/B
This is the typical situation a friend finds himself and we are just brainstorming in what best to do.
Context lacks a lot imo since it's for a friend. We don't exactly have their situation at hand and what said business actually is. Look in my case, my dream business would be something along the lines of a game studio, and assuming that the needed ratio (75% on hand, 25% still missing) is pretty much the same as what I need (since game studios should be a lot more expensive than $20k), I'd definitely go doing both 1 and 2 since game studios don't exactly give immediate profits, unlike say cafeterias and the like.

Ofc, this could be remedied by sorting out your finances and splitting the money you get so that you can party invest and partly store your money, but again, depends on context. If we assume we can't do both then yea, I'd go with 2 instead, especially if you consider your words "over a long period", so I'm assuming that at the very least, that $5k can take a long time to be earned, what more that $15k you can lose.
723  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do we need to backup Screenshots balance on exchange? on: October 01, 2023, 11:55:04 AM
~
Screenshots? Really? There are TX hashes, Balance statements, and other similar stuff and the one thing you had to make a point was Screenshots of your balance? Seriously? Is this your first day on the internet or something? Heck even if someone doesn't really use the internet that much they'd pretty much know not to trust screenshots.

And I wonder who the hell falls for those scams where they have XXXX amount in their wallet and talk to them to know how. Guess OP is one.
724  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino repeated live payout results on: October 01, 2023, 03:18:10 AM
~
1.Have you observed repeated IDs and payouts while playing in online casinos, and do you think these patterns are a cause for concern?
2.Are these displays genuinely based on real-time data, or could there be instances of manipulation or programmed repetition?
Some how I feel these data aren't updated and are only programmed so as to attract more players into using their casino.
Yes and no. They're simply accounts that use bots to play the game, and due to how fast it cycles through, the live display pretty much shows them winning multiple times in a row. In reality, there's probably a bunch of losses in between those wins instead of it being concurrent wins.

As for two, I'd say it should be based on real-time data in reputable casinos at least. I wouldn't pull out that their fake though, new casinos probably do that to attract players into thinking some people actually play there as you've said. There might be some casinos that show the TX or something similar though and in those cases it's pretty easy to check whether the game actually happened or not though.
725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Violence and anger could be a sign of gambling addiction in youths on: October 01, 2023, 01:31:59 AM
~
Is there any effective way to make sure youths stays where the are told to stay instead of looking for quick money? Gambling isn't the solution to poverty it will possibly drown you deep into more poverty.

"Telling" them isn't going to do anything. They're humans, they have wants, and needs together with responsibilities. Now if no one actually educates them to understand that those come together in a bundle, it's rather inevitable that they're going to do something wrong. There's a world difference between telling them these things vs letting them understand.

The most effective way really is to have a family that can support them and educate them, but not all households are like that so other than that, there's nothing really. A being is shaped by their surroundings early on, and even if we do say they can filter out what they can and shouldn't take, by the time they understand such logic it might've been a tad bit too late.
726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New ID requirements for Gamblers in Australia on: September 30, 2023, 12:47:27 PM
A few days ago i shared a news where Australia will ban Gambling through credit cards, now it seems that they are moving another step ahead in this and now Australia Introduces New ID Requirements for Online Gamblers

The general purpose for this is to reduce gambling in Australia but they will make excuses that this is done to overcome underage gambling etc.
Quote
The measure would mitigate certain problems such as underage gambling or gambling harm, Responsible Wagering Australia says

Although most casinos ask for KYC, yet minors still gamble on their elders ' IDs (Elder brother or father). I wonder by introducing this ID verification what special Australia is looking to achieve from it?

But how would that work? Would there be additional measures to these "new" requirements that they would do? And in addition, wouldn't users just go to a casino without these strict requirements? Like crypto casinos for example. I hardly doubt they'd tell casinos to implement geoblocking for international ones, though if it was officially a law then it should work.

Unless they're able to provide a method where they can detect if the user is different from the id provided, I highly doubt they'd be able to prevent this. Even that method of having your face beside your ID selfie method isn't enough if there's some asses of a parents (or whoever is the real owner of the id) who just allows it.
727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bubble bot secures 97.25ETH in private presale on: September 30, 2023, 04:19:55 AM
~
Anyone who stupidly invested in this shit already been scammed by this scam project. The token already rugpulled by the scammer behind this project. It seems like that 100 eth raised during the presale was fake number.

This scam token has only 9k liquidity at this moment. The scammer was manipulating the frontend from its site to lure its victim.
Kinda funny how OP posted the site instead of a reliable source like coinmarket. Pretty sure that's already a red flag for investors since any of these websites can be artificially manipulated most of the time, and those without the knowhow don't even know how to check if the data pulled was from the devs ass or from an API of a legitimate exchange or something.

Though looking at the candles, if I got the right coin, it seems like the coin was indeed bought instead of front end manipulation, just that it was the devs who did that to artificially pump the price. Probably dumped it immediately once some idiots bought.
728  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is this the path you should take to become successful? on: September 30, 2023, 02:12:42 AM
~
Well, it's not like the quote originated from him, afaik it's a pretty old ideology already? In addition, it's a really optimistic ideology. It's not like doing what you want can pay your bills all the time. Sure, if what you want is a niche that's famous or is useful, then yea, but what if it wasn't? What if it was extremely obscure? Things can become really hard in a matter of moments. Not that I'm contradicting with it though.

I mean I myself am doing work I truly enjoy and would probably not turn to other methods even if they bring in more money, but only because it can support me right now. If it couldn't, I probably would've already moved over to something else. But well, I guess it's an idea that a lot of people can believe in. There's probably a lot better opportunities nowadays as well compared to the past.
729  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you believe Technical Analysis? on: September 29, 2023, 11:39:39 AM
~
The past records are merely references to what could possibly be, they aren't exactly 100% guides to actually being able to read the future. You can say that the quote you indicated is indeed true, but it's not like it takes into account 100%, it's a zero-sum game, with that result, there were naturally people who were on the opposite spectrum and lost. Due to that, it's natural to see why erratic movement happens, because every investor often changes what they do.

While I do use history to judge the market, I don't exactly use it as a 100% basis for my decision. Well, I actually do DCA so whether I use it or not may not really matter much tbf, but anyway, I also use fundamental analysis, so it depends really. While I do trust it on some level, it doesn't sway my decision 100%.
730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have any DCA plan on casino on: September 28, 2023, 10:38:37 PM
Isn't this discussion better on Trading Discussion? I mean it's about gambling tokens, yes but it's still about the token market and not the token casino benefits.

It's a shame that I missed the Rollbit token pump, I would have made a lot of money from this token, but I failed to DCA because we are still at the peak of the bear market, my mind was set on after the halving, before I can start buying some more risky assets like casino tokens, I guess I was wrong.
DCA is the act of investing no matter the season of the market. The fact that you were waiting for the bear market to subside before even starting to DCA is already proof that you failed in doing it in the first place. Well I guess it isn't too late even if you start after the halving imo though. Not now though for this specific one though, as you said it just pumped after all.

Sadly I've never dabbled in crypto tokens before. The benefits don't entice me that much and I can gamble all the same with or without it after all. I think coinmarketcap has a list of gambling tokens? Not that I'm familiar with what's good but a quick scope shows that only RLB has a relatively positive price growth, the rest were up/down by 2-3% at most.
731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Youth Gambling on: September 28, 2023, 09:42:07 PM
Among young people is a result of the availability of gambling alternatives, such as sports betting and online gambling. Gambling disorders can have long-term effects on a person's ability to complete their education and choose their future, and young individuals may be particularly susceptible to acquiring these illnesses
I'd say YouTube, Tiktok, and any other social media out there have a higher chance of making younger audiences susceptible to being unable to complete their education. Well making this off of a single video might be overreacting but hey, I've seen... things. More than enough to prove in my eyes that those things are poison for young kids.

Anyway, gambling can easily be seen as a pretty normal day-to-day activity if people know how to limit themselves. It's just like playing games. Playing games for say, 3,4 hours a day or 7,8 hours every weekend? Those are pretty normal imo. Playing 8 hours every damn day? Now that's an addiction (if you were a kid, if you were say a streamer then that's just part of the job). If parents have a problem with their kids having one, educate them, simple as that. It may take time, yes, but fixing anything ALWAYS takes time.
732  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino vs. Broker: Who's Really Playing You in the Money Game on: September 28, 2023, 11:17:35 AM
You know how casinos lay it all out, they're taking a gamble just like us? But get this, brokers might just be outdoing them in their own sly way. I’m saying brokers might actually be worse. Why? They’ve got this neat, little setup where they rake in their shares through bid-offer spreads and commissions, all while carrying zero market risk. It’s like having their cake and eating it too, but in secret. We’re all out here rolling the dice, while brokers are the house, cashing in risk-free. What’s your take? Are brokers just silently stacking the deck, snagging a surefire win with every trade we make?
Well, yea, that's why they're brokers. I reckon the profit margin they have per customer is rather minimal though, but they adapted to that by having more customers instead. I mean brokers were possible because they have their own methods, maybe even internal groups that let them have these kinds of methods.

If they were shouldering risks, I doubt the existence of brokers would've even been possible. Well, they might have some other forms of risks that gambling itself may not have, not one so I can't really say but hey, I reckon there should be some sort, just not directly related to the gambling part itself. And as I've said, I reckon their profits are rather small as well so I guess that could be one risk.

733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sometimes just flex it ( luck is all you need) on: September 27, 2023, 11:21:49 PM
The sad truth about this whole gambling stuff for me well I don't know for other but with the little experience I have gotten is that no one can be too certain and can be too safe or cautious when it comes to gambling and this is proven here in a betslip I won recently that just got me thinking of how i never even intended to forecast the odds or whatsoever, I just actually just FLEXED IT and the game came through for me which was fun because I played it for fun.

So sometimes don't think just flex it and let luck do it part friends.
That's the way it's supposed to go. You're supposed to enjoy the process itself, regardless of whatever method you use. While the results may vary (though you'd naturally enjoy if you win ofc), the process itself is straightforward since there are only so many of them and you can basically guarantee that you can do all of them. I've had some random wins in the past where I just randomly chose between two teams I absolutely have no idea about (since they were new on the official scene), and it was still fun. I rarely flex though cause I'd much rather tell the story about the tournament itself than my bet.

Anw congrats on the win!
734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you seen gambling advertisements on TV? Opinion. on: September 27, 2023, 08:52:36 PM
While watching TV with my kid, I've watched various advertisements of gambling nature (let's say for example, Rummy123, RummyCircle, A23 Rummy, etc.)
These are all specifically Indian ads, but I'm sure you may have seen various gambling advertisements, some banners at boundaries when cricket is ongoing, even in any other sport. How would a kid ignore those things, they might just come and ask you about what is it. Till when can we lie to them? Don't you think that the frequency of such ads must be less in order to let the kids not get trapped into gambling and don't do it at such a small age?
Man, I haven't heard of TV in a long while. They're rather different from internet ads since afaik, ads in your browser are catered to what you mostly browse yourself through some magic that google does idk really how, but yea that's usually how I see it, while on TV, ads should be regulated depending on the channel you usually watch. Now if a channel was littered with gambling adverts, I reckon the channel itself is either deeply involved with sports or gambling.

Honestly if the issue was about gambling, just explain it to them, maybe even guide them if they wanted to. If they get a deep interest, beat the shitout of them (IN GAMBLING) even if you have to cheat just so that they know they'd always lose no matter what. A lot better than them doing it on their own without you knowing anything.
735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Credit card gambling fuels gambling addiction on: September 27, 2023, 11:19:50 AM
~
I'm glad I don't even like using Credit cards for gambling and my reason isn't even because of possible reckless gambling but because I don't like centralized payment solutions, you should stay away from using Credit card to gamble online, it sure would easily throw you out in the street, homeless.
Same, but more like I just abhor using credit cards in general. Don't get me wrong, I get its appeal, but it all the more reason not to use it imo. It just seems like a dumb idea to normalize that setting where you can buy stuff whenever you want but be in debt because of it. Especially if you consider how most "stuff" falls into categories about you splurging, in this case, gambling even, which isn't wrong, but hell, I would never, ever take a loan to splurge for my entertainment. I can go a long way without a source of one if needed and there's also other sources of entertainment without needing to spend money.
736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do if your country did not legalize cryptocurrency? on: September 26, 2023, 10:21:54 PM
Bitcoin is a very useful thing to many people. It has provided very good opportunities, job opportunity, trading opportunity and lots more for many people to earn money for their essentials of life. Bitcoin halving is fast approaching, giving many people hope of investment, and making reasonable profit at the end. Yet in some countries it is completely illegal. What will you do if you are a fan of bitcoin but your country did not legalize cryptocurrency?
P2P most likely. I don't think my funds would be compromised since I already have a mix of a hardware wallet and a locked desktop wallet in one of my spare laptops so those are safe, I rarely hold coins in exchanges so I don't think I'd be hit when they start banning users. It might be hard since I don't know much about p2p, but hey, not much we can do if they block access as well as exchanges recognizing the ban itself.

It's not exactly hard to bypass some geoblocking, especially if they weren't that strictly enforced plus there are a lot of tools that can help you stay anonymous if you want to (and if you know how to). Moving to another country might be an overkill for me though.
737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons you should not gamble on too many things at once. on: September 26, 2023, 09:31:33 PM
If you have the habit of playing and gambling on different sports and game, I think it is not good because of some few reasons like;
YOU WILL SPEND MORE MONEY ON GAMBLING.
YOU CAN BECOME MORE EASILY ADDICTED THAN A GAMBLER WHO PLAYS ONLY ONE GAME.
YOUR CHANCES OF LOOSING WILL INCREASE, BUT YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING MAY NOT INCREASE.
YOU WILL SPEND MORE TIME GAMBLING.
Which other reason?

Or you don't have money lol. Gambling is an activity that requires it after all, I don't think anyone starts gambling with the mindset already that they don't want to be addicted or what, they're simply looking for a method to spend money and have fun, and gambling is probably one of those things.

Now most of what you've said isn't actually anything bad, spend time? That's the same for any activity you want to do really. Spend more money? I mean if you have enough then why not? The thrill increases depending on the scale anw (just don't go overboard at some point). Chances are always set in stone, but a bit lower on your side due to the house edge. Addiction is eh, it's more of a condition that involves money instead of gambling itself, you can call gambling the medium instead really. That's really up to the person to identify and fix.
738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Answer this Question on Credits Left on a Slot Machine by Someone Else on: September 26, 2023, 12:03:41 PM
Legally I don't think it's a problem unless the casiuno stated otherwise. You may come across problems with trying to explain to the person who used the machine prior to you though since, well, people are irrational, more noticeably so in casinos imo. I mean if cases like this can be legally attacked, I reckon arcades and the like would've been rather profitable for scammers.

So to avoid any major issues, you can simply wait, maybe call the attention of some staff and make sure they know you're playing on a machine with prior credits in it, making sure that there's no player out there who was playing on it for at least maybe 10 minutes? If there was, you can wait or maybe just straight up ask the staff to reset the credits itself so that the responsibility doesn't lie on you but on the casino themselves instead.
739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [WARNING] Crypto casino scam on teh move again. on: September 25, 2023, 10:23:29 PM
They then give you a link to a casino and ask you to deposit there. BUT in reality, they control the casino and once you deposit, the money is theirs. And you have been scammed.
Is there anyone dumb enough to fall for this (Okay your friend counts, but still)? It's like sending money to a random bank account number that you typed by slamming your head into your keyboard. It's not even a scam, it's just them asking "Yo you got some money, can you give it here since you gamble it all anyway" kind of thing. If I were to describe it, well, it's relatively close to how a phishing link works, just that it's more specific.

Find your own casinos people. This is why I don't accept messages from unknown accounts. They're more likely to be scams than not.
740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need advice before announcing my project on: September 25, 2023, 09:58:04 PM
~
I don't think you need to force crypto as a payment method using crypto, afaik there have already been quite a few (from what I know) websites that offer short tasks, especially in cases where it's only micropayments. You don't have to do all that shmuck about tokenomics, whitepaper, documentation, etc, and could just, well, proceed to create the site itself and promotions for it. You can still use crypto as a payment method, but you can use well known crypto as payments instead like Bitcoin, ETH, etc.

~

I believe this project has a good chance because the vision is big, and the app will be ready before the announcement, so as an investor, you can test the live version of the app.
My plans for the token are simple, sell 5% to first-comers to evaluate the project cap, let's say one week, once it's done, we do a branding, and UX improvement and then deploy contracts and add the app to Chrome store, start with the whitelisting to sell 35% to the public, once this step is done, we start the market with same amount as liquidity, so now we used 75%, the rest 25% managed by the company to make sure the vision the data collecting is always available to offer more features and services.

What do you think?

See here's the mistake in most people's thinking when they're creating a new project. It does not matter how much damn you give in your project, you're not the one investing, it's others, so stop with that self-hypnosis that the project would do good. It's also unrealistic how the project relies on investors before fully launching. At the very least, do a full launch, and then look for investors. We're way past that stage where people blindly invest in new projects imo.
